Intersexism is people genuinely believe that AGAB/ASAB means "a [X] at birth" (ex: "a female at birth") that's. No. That's not what that means.

The way that AGAB/ASAB language has been so heavily bastardized and changed to now being honestly completely incoherent in 90% of contexts is so baffling to me. There is a difference between assigned gender, biological sex characteristics, a socially imposed gender/sex, and your gender and sexual identity, all of which can coincide or contradict with each other in nuanced, individual ways. You weren't a "female" at birth, you were assigned that sexual label in order to categorize you into a gender that will be imposed onto you, whether that's consistent or inconsistent.

The fact that this was said by an intersex creator is baffling.

you literally don't have to tell anyone what you were assigned. that's personal information that you have every right to keep private. you're allowed to not want people to know things. it's perfectly understandable if what you were assigned is sensitive information or something you'd rather people not focus on.

you can just present yourself as you are. you wouldn't be doing anything wrong. it's good to do what makes you happy, comfortable, and safe. if anyone tries to tell you otherwise, they don't have your best interest in mind and you shouldn't listen to them. just be you <3

I know ASAB is assigned sex at birth and DSAB is designated sex at birth.

But for the life of me I can't figure out CASAB. My brain keeps thinking it's shorthand for Casablanca 🤦‍♀️

It stands for "coercively assigned sex at birth". It was created to reference the lack of consent involved in "assigning" people a sex and gender at birth, especially intersex people.

T_T Casablanca is definitely an interesting substititute though, LMAO.

You know, I think using "agab" for yourself personally is entirely fine. It's when you decide to use that bioessentialist model on others to determine if they're "legitimate" in their gender that's a problem. Such as when someone is forcibly assigned female you decide they can't be a trans woman. That's wrong of y'all.
