Friendly reminder to not shame asexuals and other aspecs/arospecs about their feelings about sex.
Don’t shame them for sharing how they feel.
Don’t shame them for liking or disliking it.
Don’t shame them for wanting to talk about their experiences to find others who feel the same and understand what they’re going through.
Don’t shame them for making dirty jokes, for liking smut, or for having sex.
Don’t shame them for fluctuating between feelings about sex.
Don’t shame them for when their feelings on sex change.
Don’t shame them for their microlabel, and PLEASE don’t tell them it’s a TMI if they work up the courage to talk about it openly. Discussing microlabels and aspec identities helps other aspecs find where they belong and understand that the way they feel doesn’t invalidate their asexuality, and that there are other people just like them.
Some of us already shame ourselves. And it is painful. We don’t need allos doing it, too. (Hell, we don’t need fellow aces doing it either, for that matter). And we definitely don’t need allosexuals shaming us for things they do all the time.
