Hi, Frost, happy new year and thanks for the ask!
4. if you could do anything at all today, what would it be?
I'm doing it-- finally having some inspiration and peace and quiet to write some more on one of my stagnating wips. It's not quite the end of the current chapter-- it's actually the meat of the two after that, but I'll take it and loop back afterward. Anything to get some steam under my writing again.
17. do you believe in luck and superstition? Do you carry any lucky items or follow any lucky rules?
Yes and no. I played sports pretty seriously in high school and college and was never one for "lucky socks" or whatever, but-- I did believe in routines and sticking with what was comfortable to wear/the best way to braid my (long at the time) hair, etc.. (It was the late 80s, I had a big poodle perm like every other girl in high school in the U.S.)
I am superstitious about playing the lottery, though, because a few times when we were broke as hell and were 1) getting evicted for nonpayment of rent, 2) our washing machine broke, and 3) our refrigerator broke, one of my parents had me pick numbers for the Megabucks and my numbers won just enough to get us out of that particular jam, with very little money left over. I therefore can't shake the belief that I should NOT play the lottery unless I really need it, because each time, the same combination of numbers won us enough money to squeak past the moment's hardship. I don't particularly like the superstition, but there it is.
Otherwise, I am not at all superstitious about black cats. See, him face:
