Prologue

Pairing: Ha Yi-chan x fem!reader

Summary: Y/N passes out in the middle of the street only to wake up in a hospital, a familiar looking boy sitting in the chair beside her bed and with little memory of what happened and how she got there.

Warnings: an almost accident? mentions of death, abandonment and alludes to an abusive aunt.

Y/N stretches, her arms above her head as she turns her head side to side, relieving the kink in her neck. For the last hour, she’d been hunched over one of the desks in the public library, a small stack of books to her left, a stack of papers to her right, and her laptop in front of her. The 17-year-old had been working on the last part of her assignment for her history class.  

Picking up her phone, she goes to check her phone, but the screen is blank and the phone refuses to turn. “Aish,” She groans, glaring at the device as she drops it back onto the desk. Looking at the clock on the wall opposite her, she notices the time. Her eyes widen as panic surges through her.  

Ignoring her aching body, she scrambles out of her seat, throwing her belongings back into her backpack and hurries out of the library as though her life depended on it. 

As soon as she steps out of the library, it starts pouring with rain. Tilting her head towards the sky, she cusses under her breath with a scowl on her face, her panic turning into annoyance. Unwrapping her uniform cardigan from around her waist, she lifts it over her head like a useless makeshift umbrella and starts running down the street to her home.  

As she runs, she thinks about her aunt and the beating she’s about to receive for not being home by curfew. Her aunt is a cold and mean lady in her late 40’s and the only family that Y/N has left. Her older brother died 10 months ago. Their mum died when she was 6 and her brother was 17. Their father left before Y/N turned a year old and hasn’t had anything to do with her since. So, when her brother died, her mean old aunt, who was now living back in Seoul, took over her guardianship despite her clear disdain towards having an adolescent living under her roof. The teenager swears her aunt has no soul. 

Y/N is a block away from her home when her ears start to ring loudly, and her head begins spinning as a wave of dizziness comes over her. She tries to quicken her pace, but she comes to a halt in the middle of the road. As she becomes increasingly disorientated and confused, she doesn’t notice the set of headlights coming towards her until the muffled sounds screeching of tires breaks through the ringing in her ears. Her eyes widen in alarm, but her body won’t respond to the impending danger she’s in even though the voice in her head is yelling at her to move. 

The car is on the verge of colliding with her when a strong pair of hands grabs her arms and forcefully yanking her out of harm's way. They landed with a thud on the cold wet road, just inches from the screeching tires that echoed through the air 

The state she’s in only gets worse as she tries to make out the face of the person who just saved her, but everything was blurring together until it went dark, her body going limp and the ringing in her ears finally coming to an end as she loses herself to darkness

I'm trying to write a college au 9-1-1 fic.

but I can't figure out what major to give the characters.

age-wise I decided:

Ravi and Albert: freshmen

Eddie and Buck: sophomores

Maddie, Hen, Karen, Chimney: seniors

Bobby and Athena: professors

Harry and May: hs sophomore and senior

Chris: 3 years old.

Yes, almost everyone is aged down but otherwise this cannot be a college au.

ANYWAY.

As of now I only have

Bobby: Theology Professor

Athena: Law & Ethics Professor

I would love help from #thepeople.

#1, lemme reveal this is actually also an urban fantasy au based on the world building of my books?🤭

Eddie ended up as a psychology major because he's had so much trauma (had Chris at 16, while actively being forced by his parents in a supernatural war, HES BEEN THROUGH A LOT) and he wants to give back.

Buck is an Elemental Literature (similar to world literature) major cuz in his alternate life coma dream he was a teacher.

Maddie is an Healing Studies major (basic med essentially) because nurse.

chim AND hen: alchemy & potion making majors (the hands on version of medicine) because I felt like it fit them to be more direct (?)

Karen is an aerospace engineering major because someone had to have a normal major. and also rocket scientist. her and chim met freshman year bc she was the only one who sat with him at lunch. Chim introduced them. henren already canon

Albert is an Elemental history major (but maybe he'll switch to business at some point I'm still on the fence), bc I genuinely didn't know what to give him.

ravi is obviously a property management major because as we're all sadly aware he is in fact a landlord.

oh, and technically Bobby's course is called Namology. and Athena's Elemental Law & Ethics. but same thing. oh, and Bobby's classroom is Class 118, obviously.

if anybody then wants to know their specieses lemme know.

Funny addition: did not realize this beforehand but I had previously literally already named the School of Law college ATHENA SCHOOL OF LAW. Athena Grant-Nash is really THAT GURL (technically it's named after the Greek Goddess but ssshhh that's a detail)
