I hear it when I look at you

AU-gust day 20: Aquarium Jesper and Wylan go on a date.

Wylan tugged on Jesper’s arm in a small, polite way of asking him to hurry the fuck up as they crossed the large parking lot in front of the new aquarium in Ketterdam.

Out of all the things that happened in the city, the opening of an aquarium was one of the more surprising things. Granted, it wasn’t anywhere near the Barrel, but animals weren’t a big market in the port city.

Then again, it wasn’t a surprise that rich businessmen in Ketterdam wanted to exploit an untapped resource through the means of tourism.

Wylan just wanted to see the fish.

“Do you know if they have food here?” Jesper asked as they got closer to the entrance, which was… less crowded than he had expected. It was 10 AM on a Wednesday, but he still expected there to be more people.

“Kaz didn’t mention anything when he looked through their website, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any,” he quipped, pushing through the door before pulling out his phone to get out the QR code. They had paid online the day before, so they already had their tickets ready. 

Jesper did the same, and by the time they reached the counter, they were able to seamlessly enter, with the person at the front scanning the QR codes before letting them in. 

As soon as they were through, Wylan and Jesper were met with floor-to-ceiling glass walls full of fish.

It was beautiful.

The sunlit ripples of the water reflected onto the tile floor of the winding hallways, making the tiles almost bend under perception.

“Oh, that one looks sick,” Wylan turned his attention to see where Jesper was pointing. It took him a moment, but he was able to locate the fish that he was pointing at, almost fully blending in with the water. It was small, with a shimmery turquoise color and flecks of yellow on the tail fin. It cut through the water, passing by other schools of fish to join up with a school made up of similarly-colored fish.

“I think those are queen parrotfish,” He tilted his head, his eyes following the small school as it disappeared behind a curve in the hallway

“Well, they look very royal.” Jes joked, nudging Wylan’s shoulder slightly as they continued to walk. “How much research have you done on fish, exactly?”

He paused to think. “I may have put several articles through text-to-speech this past week.”

“Only a few?”

“Alright, more than a few.” he conceded. “I just wanted to be prepared. Plus, fish are interesting to learn about. Clownfish can change their gender based on the population of nearby clownfish to even out the male-to-female ratio.”

Jesper blinked, pausing. “They can do that?”

Wylan hummed, nodding before glancing back at the aquarium wall as they continued to walk. 

“I’m never looking at Finding Nemo the same ever again.”

He laughed, glancing at his boyfriend, who was still intently watching the fish passing by them. Wylan’s gaze was drawn back to the wall just as a school of very vibrant fish passed by close to the wall. Their scales were made up of deep blues swirled with oranges, teals, and yellows. The fins across their backs flared up, slicing through the water like thin knives.

“They kind of look like you,” Wylan nudged Jesper, who laughed.

“I think I could pull off those patterns. Just add a hat and it’d be perfect.” he added. “D’you know what these ones are?”

His eyes followed the fish as he thought, recalling back to the several different articles he had listened to on tropical fish. “Mandarinfish. They’re native around Australia.”

“Well, that makes sense. Could you imagine them with an accent?”

Wylan laughed. “That would be entertaining.”

“I’d watch a show on that. They really need to make more movies and shows about talking fish. Really an untapped resource.”

“Maybe you could write one.” Wylan suggested. “You did major in theatre, so you have the script-writing experience.”

Jesper snapped his fingers. “You’re right. That’s it, I’m employing Nina to help me make a fish movie.”

“And I’ll help you research the types of fish.”

Mouseford Academy here we go!

Hi guys! Welcome back.

Today I just want to show you my art work for another Geronimo Stilton/Thea Stilton AU that I'm creating for AU-gust 2020 which is Mouseford Academy here we go! This AU is a what if Geronimo Stilton, Trap Stilton, Benjamin Stilton (and Bruce Hyena though I always thought that he went to Mouseford Academy to study when he was younger) went to Mouseford academy with Thea Stilton. It's basically a College AU.

For now though, the fanfic is not ready yet because it's not finished and I'm going to the cinema real soon so I'll just post this fanart of Geronimo Stilton as a university student in Mouseford Academy instead.
