"Hello, sir, can I ask how you procured your offspring?"
I couldn't get this image out of my head, lmao. Uhh... August AU propaganda?

Yes I get the militia joke lol
Also, there's a really good fanfiction on AO3 called "A Series of Bright Ideas". 10/10, best Bright family fanfiction I've ever read.
Also, I have not finished Portraits of Your Father yet, so I am sorry in advance if something I say contradicts something near the end of Portraits of Your Father.
I have more headcanons for other guys :D.
1. Draven is still in denial of James's death. He still can't believe that James died and he comes home expecting to find James there, and when he doesn't, he waits for him to come back. He sometimes even makes food that James liked and turns on a show that James liked and organizes everything and makes the entire house look really neat because he wants to "surprise James" when he comes back. He's still in super deep denial.
2. Thomas sometimes goes back to being super childish due to the side effects of his powers.
3. Claire never heard about Jack coming back to life. She still thinks he's dead.
4. Meri got to talk with her dad, Alto, after he fought tooth and nail. He's trying to get custody of her now.
5. Dr. King is surprisingly good at biology despite him being a mathematician. There are SOME scientists who are good in stuff that aren't their field of expertise but Dr. King? He's terrifyingly good at biology and knows the human body inside and out.
6. Dr. Gerald and Jack got along very well, which isn't a surprise to anybody due to how chaotic both of them are. And both of them aren't allowed to drive.
7. Dr. "Iceberg" and Dr. Gerald were IRONICALLY best friends. They used to despise each other and the only time they got along was when dramatically pretending to be best friends. Like, after a car accident, Gerald would say something like "Don't call an ambulance! Call my dear friend 'Iceberg' 🥰!" and "Iceberg" would do the same. Nobody knows why the hell they used to do that, nobody knows if they were actually friends or not, nobody knows if they hates each other or not, they just did it for the sole shared goal of confusing everybody.
8. Simon and Orion are really good friends, unironically. They talk almost everyday.
9. Sophia and Jack gossip about everyone and everything, a lot. They only really talk to each other when gossiping, they don't even see each other much besides gossiping and that's why whenever their schedule changes, they make sure to request the same days of the week off. Chances are, if Jack heard something about you, it's immediately going to Sophia and vice versa.
10. Draven and James weren't close with anybody at the Foundation except each other [and Benjamin]. Draven never really talked to any agents and only kept it short and professional, meanwhile James never really talked to other researchers that much and only kept it professional. Sure, Draven IS really friendly, talkative and kind towards others but he doesn't really know anyone on a personal level. Most of his talks are just random chit chat and he doesn't even see anyone outside of work so he wouldn't call anyone his "friend", or at least he wouldn't call THAT many people his "friends". Meanwhile James is just introverted and that's why he keeps it all fully professional.

I love these headcanons! Thank you so much! (my heart hurts now bc of number 1)
Also, DID YOU JUST MENTION A SERIES OF BRIGHT IDEAS?! I love that one so much! It's my comfort read along with There Is No Antimemetics Division and the Resurrection: Old Foes hub.
embers are the new flame
chapter three: the fraser to my buckley
pairing: mikasa ackerman/jean kirstein
It’s a message from an unknown contact. meet me behind the mall it’s an emergency The digits, however, slot in Mikasa’s mind like a puzzle piece. - jean

August au fans when it's the month August
This may be a stretch (or just me being fucking insane) but the folklore love triangle. Joel. Lizzie. Etho.
Lizzie is Betty, Joel is James and Etho is Augustine. Gem is Inez.
As a swiftie, an ethogirl, a shadow cadet and whatever the hell Joel is calling his fanbase these days I feel like I have to write this.
I'm calling it the August AU and I'm doing it.
Quicker than a Snap AU
After one of Character A’s loved ones is kidnapped, the perpetrator sends them complicated clues via Snapchat (which they are not allowed to screenshot or keep in any way). In order to save the one they love, they recruit someone with a photographic memory (Character B) who also happens to be the most annoying little shit in the world.
I'm so sorry for sending a lot of asks but you're the only SCP friend I have lmao
TW: abuse
Have you ever thought about denial but in a different way? Like, instead of someone dying and someone close to them being in denial, how about having someone experience severe childhood trauma and be in denial of it well into adulthood? That's how I see Jack.
Yk how I headcanon that the abuse he faced from Adam and Mikell was severe? I believe he was in denial of it and only thought him and Adam and Mikell just... didn't get along due to different personalities and didn't realize that it was abuse until he had a psychological evaluation [it is up to you whether you want this psychologist to be Simon or somebody else] where the psychologist asked him about his childhood and he started describing super graphic stuff in detail.
"Oh, yeah! My dad locked me in a dark room for 2 days without food or water when I was 6 years old. I'm sure he was just upset!"
"Ah, my brother slammed me against a wall and broke a vase on my head when I was 3. He was just playing with me!"
"My dad picked me up and threw me down the stairs when I was 8 but you don't GET IT, I was in the wrong! I spilled water on the rug!"
And let's add salt to the wound, Jack still has reflexes and flinches at certain movements. [Can you tell I love angst. I love hurting people's hearts with fictional characters.]
I have SO many headcanons for Jack, especially because I project onto him and James a lot [my beloved punching bags]
PLEASE tell me your angst headcanons, I wanna hear them
-August
I don't have any (I don't headcanon that bad of a childhood for Jack) but now I've stolen yours for the AU. Thank you for these! I will be rotating them in my brain for the next week!
