Turns out I hate backstitching why did I get kits with backstitching
In an attempt to practice my back stitching skills, I made a Bowuigi headcanon family tree.

Also, it somehow went fast-ish? It was still at least five hours, but compared to actual cross stitch? Not too bad.
This really illustrates the difference backstitching makes.
I hate backstitching. It's tedious and, at times, can be difficult to find the right spot. This pattern has been especially so because not only does it switch between 1 and 2 strands, the lines keep ending in between the holes.
And yet, as much as I hate it, I love the results.

Hi, i'm making one of your patterns and i noticed that it doesn't say whether to use one or two threads for the backstitches. which did you intend to be used?
Chaos creators intend for you to go with your heart! No, really though. I (Fry) use 2 for most backstitches even if it calls for 1, unless that looks wrong and bad and then I switch to 1. It’s really up to you and your preferences. Not helpful, I’m aware, but the patterns-
