My ears are assaulted and assailed by a girl group massacring Nothing Compares 2 U, I sip coffee through gritted teeth, this too shall pass ... I could turn the radio off but find myself transfixed with the desire to see just how bad this version can get ... like horror films that miss the scare and bump mark but have enough chintz and cheese to make you watch for laughs ... I did try to read Fifty Shades of Grey ... this was a step too far ...

one thing i have noticed with adhd is my hella weird sensory issues that are just. highly specific.

one thing is that my parents own glasses and coasters that, when the glass moves on the coaster, it makes a sound only i can hear but it is the Worst Sound. Close second is styrofoam, styrofoam on basically any other material, but especially styrofoam on styrofoam. ugghh makes my whole body tense up.

the other day i scraped over some Bad Plastic with my fingernail, it didn't even really make a sound but it just felt so horrible, it took me over a minute to recover.

My parents also own some coffee mugs with print on them, but not glossy print, washed out, rough print. I cannot use them, because they feel so Wrong in my hands.

my bathroom and toilet room have tiles, with a similar texture. i hate walking or standing there without socks. i mean i can tolerate it for a quick pee, but it is Very Uncomfortable.

Point is, what makes a brain do that?? My family don't have issues with the mugs, I don't think that ever even crossed their minds. What makes a brain just go like. "Hm. don't like how this feels. Burn down the house" when I walk into the bathroom in the morning, before i put on socks???? over freaking TILES that just.. feel wrong some how?????

discord changed all their notification sounds (possibly for the holiday season?) and all the new sounds have this tinny metallic scrapish quality that makes me physically nauseous, i literally have to just turn off the notif sounds now. is anyone else experiencing this.
