my barty is an endless winding staircase. he truly has no aspirations or goals in life. he is without ambition, and I think this is the trait that sets him apart from the other slytherins. he is someone who sees things through to the end, but out of a dogged determination to finish what he starts (he and sirius are alike in this way). he is a polymetis. his moral code obliges him to be a gentleman to every grandmother and a relentless pain in the ass to every male authority figure. and I think that's beautiful
