You thought that they would be safe from you. That you just had to go away every few days so it can lessen the effects of your affliction on them. That they would live.
That was your first mistake of many.
You were a fool.
There is no expiration date on unluck. At least not in your case. And soon enough all of them fell down, like pieces of domino. One by one your loved ones died. Each time you thought it would be different, and each time you were wrong. Anyone you let get close. Anyone who interacts with you even in hellos or goodbyes, would be touched. There was no escaping your fate. There's no hiding. The three sisters spin and you aid in the cutting or the tangling of the string. Eventually you stopped. But the human spirit is nothing but resilient, even if you protest, even if you curse or push them away. Some just refuse to stay away. And eventually, you dawn your black attire, and go to their wake. They deserve that much from you. All of them died and you live on and on.
There's no escaping your fate. You learned that the hard way. You know better, But why do you want him so badly, despite knowing what is waiting for him if you allow yourself to be close to him. Why would you do that to another person again. Why would you do that to yourself again.
You should know better.
But you don't. And that is a heavy burden to bear.
