HELLO DOUG NATION (if there even is one these days….) here are my designs and individual refs for a potential highschool au thing ive been cooking up in my mind palace
I also have a little relationship chart thingy…
Umm anyways a lot of this is still subject to change but this is what i got for now……hoping to be able to develop this more and not get burnt out like i usually do.
Time for some more? Sure. Last time I spammed you with a bunch of colorful things so this time I'll give ya more messy sketches. I have so. many. sketches. Here are two more pages to start with! Some of these are the sketch stages of the colored art from my previous post. The rest are just random works in progress.
First page: The sketch with the goats was inspired by the simple fact that I hang out with goats every week when I volunteer at a sanctuary. Goats are pretty awesome. 🐐
The sketch of them caught on a windy day, Doug pulling Roger up the cliff and the one of them sitting together on the bottom row (with Doug wearing the jacket) are all scenes from one of my fan fictions. The main one I've been working on lately, actually.
The nose to nose sketch is a sequel to that "tangled up" sketch (inspired by the show's intro) from a while back. In trying to untangle themselves they managed to get into an even more awkward position. Whoops.
Doug enjoying some healthy tea while Roger has a (probably very unhealthy) energy drink came from my own struggle of trying to kick energy drinks. I do enjoy tea too.
If you caught this one you'll get the following,
Doug: "Hey Roger, you spelled "kick" wrong.."
Roger: "Did I?"
C'mon Doug, you know he's not great at spelling. Honest mistake, I'm sure.
Second page: A couple more sketches from my recent comic involving Patti.
The sketch with Stinky was inspired by a meme I saw somewhere. She's one badass cat!
The sketch of (older) Roger being protective of Doug is from another comic I want to share eventually. But it's an old one at this point and I sorta wanna redraw it because I feel I can do better now. I won't go into details yet but if you guessed they're glaring at Percy here you're right. And if you think you know how Roger got a black eye you're also probably right.
The others are mostly random sans the bottom one with the three girls. That's from yet ANOTHER fan fiction. Yeesh.
Bonus! Want something really random and silly? Here ya go! The sketchy comics here were done back in November when Wicked For Good was released. Judy being a dramatic theater kid and Roger being green was more than enough excuse for me to make this mess. Hell he even has the OG witch's nose. Now laugh at my horrible, terrible attempt at dresses.
Judy is having fun with this drag show and so am I. Now sing, sing my pretties!
Scrooge McDuck: Chief Financial Officer & Investment Strategist for the Global Animated Supergroups
Job Description
As the primary banker and personal loan investor for The Packstreet Boys, The Pinkettes, and Avenger MMBB, Scrooge McDuck manages the world’s most eccentric musical portfolios. His role involves:
* Capital Allocation: Funding world tours, high-tech stage equipment (including medallion-synced instruments), and studio time.
* Asset Protection: Safeguarding the various band members' unique intellectual properties and magical artifacts.
* Debt Restructuring: Managing the personal loans of members like Timmy Turner (whose "assets" often disappear at midnight) or Bart Simpson (whose liability insurance is astronomical).
* Revenue Optimization: Ensuring that every "Number One Dime" earned from record sales and merchandising is reinvested into high-yield, Duckburg-approved ventures.
Client Summary: The Packstreet Boys (Classic Era)
Scrooge views this group as a high-risk, high-reward powerhouse. With a multi-instrumentalist lineup ranging from Sonic’s electric medallion-guitar to Ferb’s complex engineering setups, the overhead for technical maintenance is massive. Scrooge specifically oversees the "Cosmo/Wanda Keyboard & Saxophone" insurance rider, ensuring the band's magical instruments remain off the tax books. He works closely with Courtney to ensure the band's rebellious energy (led by Alvin and Bart) doesn't result in property damage that exceeds their tour dividends.
Scrooge's Quote: "Work smarter, not harder, lads! Sonic, stop running through the budget at the speed of sound—compound interest takes time, even if you don't!"
Client Summary: The Pinkettes (Classic Era)
The Pinkettes represent Scrooge’s most stable investment. With Beebe managing the logistics and a lineup focused on precision dancing and vocal harmony, their brand is highly marketable. Scrooge focuses on the international licensing of Sonia’s keyboard medallion and the merchandising of Isabella’s multi-instrumental talents. He considers this group the "Blue Chip" stock of his musical portfolio.
Scrooge's Quote: "Curse me kilts, a band that actually stays on schedule! Brittany, keep those high notes soaring—they're worth their weight in gold bullion!"
Client Summary: Avenger MMBB
Managing the finances for the Avenger MMBB requires Scrooge to be a traditional banker with a flair for the theatrical. Since this group relies on a mix of classic rock instrumentation and orchestral variety (like Pasqually’s accordion), Scrooge maintains a heavy investment in "Nostalgia Bonds." He coordinates with Maya and Miguel to ensure the media anchors provide enough coverage to keep the band's valuation rising in the competitive 80s-00s market.
Scrooge's Quote: "Munch, keep those fingers on the keys and off the buffet line! I’m not lending another cent for pizza-themed pyrotechnics unless I see a 10% return by the third quarter!"
Final Investment Analysis
Scrooge McDuck’s oversight of these three groups is a masterclass in diversification.
By balancing the chaotic, multi-genre energy of The Packstreet Boys with the polished pop-appeal of The Pinkettes and the steady, reliable performances of Avenger MMBB, Scrooge has created a musical monopoly. His strategy relies on high-interest personal loans to the more "troublesome" members, ensuring that even if a tour fails, the Money Bin remains full. While the managers (Courtney, Beebe, Maya, and Miguel) handle the egos, Scrooge handles the equity—proving that in the world of high-stakes music, the richest duck in the world always has the final say on the setlist.
