Delores Theadoisa Hargreeves
Italics = Delores' notebook
I'll admit to the fact that Ben's abilities worry me the most out of the group, but not for the reasons he'd think.
Yes, the interdimensional creature he can call from within is violent and unpredictable to say the least. But it seems to like him, or at the very least listen to him. My main concern is the mental repercussions this ability seems to have on Ben.
He thinks he's a monster. He thinks he's dangerous and pulls himself away from myself and the others as a way of 'protecting' us.
In short, my little Benny thinks very lowly of himself.
Delores knocked gently on the door. "Benny, are you in there? You missed lunch, so I brought you a plate."
"Benny, I can see the light on."
Soft shuffling. The door clicked open to reveal the tear stained six year old rubbing at his eyes with his sleeve.
"Oh, honey..." Delores sighed. She held out the BLT sandwich to him. "I snagged you and extra cookie. Don't tell mom."
"Thanks...." Ben accepted the plate.
"Got a surprise for you." Delores pulled the rolled up comic book from her back pocket. "Figured you could use some fresh contraband."
Under Reginald's orders, the house had a strict ban on caffeine, candy, and all things deemed 'childish.'
Naturally, this just meant that every child in the Hargreeves house had a healthy stack of contraband, which they traded better than a prison chain gang.
"But I'm outta Red Bulls." Ben frowned.
Having inherited her Grandfather's love of study, and doing her best to raise seven small children in an at least somewhat normal way, it was no surprise that Delores was a caffeine addict. Coffee was alright, but energy drinks stored better. As such, they were the prime thing the kids gave her in exchange for something they wanted.
"Eh, this one's on the house. I think you'll like it."
Ben took the comic book in his free hand and studied the cover.
But I think he'll be okay. He'll be amazing.
