Electrical muscle stimulus is lessening the muscle by utilizing electric driving forces, where nerves join muscles. It reproduces the leg an
A Blue Tuesday
I was feeling slightly blue yesterday for no reason in particular. I slept in, not really wanting to get out of bed, but nature called. I did a workout but is was below even my lowest of standards. I just had no energy and I was trying to lift weights. I just had a difficult time with each move even at low weights. I certainly didn’t get any feel good endorphins from my pitiful workout. I got a…

Weekend plans, or not
Weekend plans, or not
When your day starts off with an accident and a fall, you aren’t feeling so optimistic for a good MS day. Yesterday evening was my second Kesimpta shot. I decided to once again do my thigh region. I did my right leg this time. That might not have been the best place. As soon as the needle pierced the skin, my leg immediately went into a super spasm. I twitched and moved during the injection. It…

Bionic Gym highly recommended
After all my worries over changing to Kesimpta, I’m now pretty darn happy I did. I felt fine after the shot on Thursday and all through the weekend. To not have to do a six hour infusion followed by 3 plus weeks of feeling lousy, I have to say I’m pretty excited. No more steroids. No more IV vein issues. No more aggravation with the former pharmacy over the correct infusion supplies. I must say…

New addition to my workout
New addition to my workout
Is the summer over yet? I’ve already had enough of the heat and more importantly the humidity. I am thankful for my hair straightening giving me one less thing to worry about. I was never a fan of the summer even before my diagnosis. I was never one to cherish the sun. I have very fair skin so I burn easily and then I turn right back to my white complexion. I’m the perfect comparison for anyone…

Before we started using Bionicgym in an attempt to lose weight, I wanted a baseline of what my estimated body composition was. Here are the results from my Composition ID Dexa scan. As i suspected, I gained 7 pounds from January. Yikes!
Being stuck at the house during state lockdowns, not being able to workout at OrangeTheory or RTR Pilates, and worsening bad habits during the Covid crisis all contributed to the weight gain. Hopefully with BionicGym and a more controlled eating pattern, we’ll lose weight!
As they say, happy shaking!
BionicGym is NOT a scam. It actually arrived.
In 2017, I backed bionicgym on indiegogo to secure an interesting electro stimulation device that you place on your thighs, turn on, and shake your way to weight loss.
[that was pretty reductive. but if you’re reading this blog, it’s quite possible you already know the full details having read their website and probably many other posts about BG so let’s not repeat, yea?]
There was a lot of activity in facebook groups and reddit as time went on. Some comments were very harsh and critical. Can’t really blame them. We paid a lot of money but nothing to show for it for years. [many are still waiting]
Yes, it was crowd funded.
Yes, crowd funded means no guarantees.
Yes, startups have growing pains.
But, please remember :
lotttttta money x thousands of backers = certain level of expectation.
No one wants to feel like they’ve been duped.
In 2019, despite the negativity and doubt, we double downed and this time, my partner purchased a set too and I ordered extra wraps at a discount. We believed in Louis and Tuoyo and believed in their research and outcomes posted by beta testers. We decided to be patient.
When devices finally started shipping - it was amazing news! I even received a shipping label! However, time passed and nothing happened. We eventually learned that we unfortunately got skipped [a couple times] and that original label eventually canceled. We waited some more as the pounds continued to creep on, lol. Thanks covid.
Finally.
June 22, 2020.
It arrived.
Honestly, I think the bionicgym sets would have arrived a couple days sooner if I hadn’t diverted the package to a UPS access point. We were concerned the shipment would get lost or “accidentally” refused [which happened to us before] so we just wanted to be sure. After picking it up later that afternoon, we started charging it, read through all the instructions, watched all the videos, and took turns helping each other placing on the pads.
And then,
we got to shaking.
Will we lose weight? I don’t know. But I intend to track the journey so I guess we’ll find out! Want to find out with me? Follow along.
