One of the greatest fight scenes in the DCAU’s Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000), in which Batman Beyond himself, Terry McGinnis, refuses to play into the grandeur of The Joker’s legendary reputation as a force of nature like his mentor before him did by instead mocking the notion of taking such an unfunny, nihilistic loser seriously.

This is a final confrontation in which Joker, right before his demise, implanted a microchip containing an A.I. copy of his memories along with his DNA in Tim Drake’s (second Robin in the DCAU, third in the comics) neck to ensure he’ll get the last laugh by killing an aged Batman using the body of his former side-kick that he failed to save like the perfect cap off to their old feud.
