I want to say yes and FN but at 178cm I don't know, plus he doesn't give off the towering, built like a wall , impression so I might go with pure N? exactly! carlos sainz is a pure natural at 5'10, and rebecca donaldson is a pure dramatic type at 5'9. very yang couple. but you can see how she is narrow-dominant (clearly defined edges) and he is width-dominant (blunt, rounder edges). crazy how different bone structure can be between IDs. because they are pure and not subtypes, we see the extremes: she is angular, he is bevelled.

another natural type at 5'10 who's a super pretty f1 driver is oscar piastri from mclaren (his teammate lando norris is a soft gamine btw). oscar's girlfriend lily is his theatrical romantic match. they are both yin actually, oscar is a soft natural subtype. this couple is more "kibbe-similar": rounded body outlines with moderate vertical and rounded facial contours, slight hourglass. SN and TR are closer than we think, though SN looks taller and more athletic.

^ i thought she could have been SG, but she does romantic styles so well compared to line breaks, and her face is 100% yin anyway.

Romantics

Fashion spotlight: Of all the R- or TR-idols, I think Dahyun dresses consistently for softness. With R/TR the fabric is so important: fabrics that are soft, glossy and/or drapey to the touch. Soft and small details are also good additions.

Gamines

For gamines, it's about tightly cropped outfits with some variation/something to break up the vertical. There are a lot of idols who are great for FG inspo: Jennie (the posh/polished FG), Soyeon (the experimental but girly FG), Seulgi (the tomboyish FG). For SGs, Taeyeon has a lot of good casual-wear that complements her lines. Sieun is another SG with some beautiful airport ensembles.

Classics

Classics should have balance; no matter what kind of outfit they wear, there should be a sense of symmetry and equal weight distribution. Jungsis are the queens of classic airport fashion that is crisp and elegant but not boring.

Naturals

Naturals tend to be complemented with openness and slightly flowy, yet structured fabrics. Of course SNs need a bit more softness while FNs need a bit more crispness. There are so many N idols that rock casual wear: for posh looks, Red Velvet's Joy (FN) and Yeri (SN). For softer SN looks, Yuqi from Idle. For edgier looks, aespa's Ningning (SN) and Blackpink's Lisa (FN).

Dramatics

No one does modern and expressive like the D family. For both SD and D, they are honored with crisp, firm fabrics and a continuous long silhouette. Ds do a linear androgynous look very well, SDs can handle more flounce/shaping. Wonyoung is great style inspo for both Ds and SDs, she has lots of glam looks. Others are Victoria (D) for modernist style, and Tzuyu (SD) for a casual take on SD.

if you can: natural lighting, camera at shoulder height with the feet visible, moderate distance. shots from the side/back are also useful. posture: legs and arms straight down, hair pulled back so the face is visible. a few selfies would be great too. the styles, try to cover all 5 kibbe categories, present any style you can with your existing wardrobe. long and short, wide and tight, patterned and minimal, and several fabrics for comparison.

Twice Kibbe Body Types

Nayeon: Soft Gamine

Gamines has contrasted lines, thin short bones, not much vertical line, and they tend to have big head, hands, and feet. Soft gamines have an added softness, added flesh in their body. Nayeon has the characteristics of a gamine, the contrasted lines, short vertical line and big head, but she also has the added flesh which is prominent in her curves.

Jihyo: Romantic

Romantics are soft and fleshy, everything is round round round. Jihyo has very delicate bones, round eyes, round face, round lips, rounded shoulders, and everything is covered with flesh.

Mina: Classic

Classic are very even and moderate in their features and bone structure. Mina has a very even symmetrical face. Her features are moderate, keeping her appearance very balanced. Classics look best in simple, tailored clothes, as it gives them a very timeless and elegant look. Anything too loose will make them look messy and undone. Mina highlights this with her elegant aura, and her stylists seem to gravitate toward her lines.

Sana: Natural

Naturals tend to have a wider or beveled bone structure, some to more vertical line, and look best in looser clothes with some waist emphasis. Sana has the wider beveled bone structure and look amazing in these loose casual outfits.

Dahyun: Theatrical Romantic

Theatrical romantics bare many similarities to romantics, however they have added "drama" to their bone structure. Dahyun is incredibly curvy, but she has that sort of "lanky" look about her bone structure, this is in part due to her being thin but also because she is a theatrical romantic. This dress is perfect for a theatrical romantic, and she looks absolutely stunning in it.

Chaeyoung: Gamine

Gamines have contrasted bones, and tend to have big hands, head, and feet. Chaeyoung has contrasted bones that help her pull off this "busy" look.

Tzuyu: Dramatic Classic

Dramatic classics are classics that have some added sharpness to them. Tzuyu has very even, moderate build, however you can see she is a little bit sharper than a regular classic, think of Mina. Her face is more angular, she has a longer vertical line, and once again she looks amazing in these simple timeless looks.

Momo: Flamboyant Natural

Flamboyant naturals are natural with a bit more yang to their bone structure. Momo has a lot of yang to her bones. She's got the blunt, broad shoulders and long limbs that flamboyant naturals have. People might be thrown off from flamboyant natural because of her curves, but there are many flamboyant naturals who have a lot of curves, like gigi for example.

Jeongyeon: Soft Natural

Soft naturals are naturals with added yin to them, or a tendency to be more fleshy. Jeongyeon has the same wider bone structure, however she is softer than Sana. Her face is softer, she has more flesh on her arms, and she is pulling off this soft natural look flawlessly.

I saw your post answering an ask about someone called Taehyung and his "type", and I'm curious. I saw a bunch of phrases like "Kibbe width" and "Soft Natural" and "Yin height" and I have absolutely no clue what any of those terms mean, could you explain it to me? They sound interesting.

it's from stylist david kibbe's now-famous and rather convoluted body typing system, based on his book metamorphosis in the 80s. i specialize in typing men according to it, in this case i analysed bts' singer taehyung's body type based on his height, silhouette, and most flattering clothing style that's in harmony with his physical appearance the most, which is the kibbe typology end goal:

match the clothing lines to the body lines. not go against them. that's when a person looks their best.

e.g. if you're tall, dress tall! (long vertical line of the same color, like jacob elordi below). we translate your anatomy into what fits the body as clothes.

imo, start from the tenets of the theory (learn all the 13 existing types, find your own, what yin vs yang means in body geometry, how to type someone, how to distinguish between types, what the ideal clothing recommendations are for each type). it'd take hours to explain this rabbit hole. the internet is gladly filled with material from typists nowadays. aly art, julia deshkova, gabrielle arruda...

if you still want some definitions of those frankly rather disconnected terms (those are not the basics, but the advanced stuff imo):

kibbe width - the physique a natural body type has. natural is one of kibbe's 5 main body type categories. width = prominent shoulders + wide ribcage. an N type is moderately tall to tall and has bluntness in their bone structure. think pedro pascal. his shoulder line is almost cartoonishly broad. aka he's a natural type:

soft natural - a subtype of the natural type with more softened bodily and facial features, as well as an emphasized waist. subtypes exist to refine the main types and catch our human bodily variety. hence there are so many kibbe types. think tom hardy, he's a soft natural. moderate in height, hourglass waist, soft facial features, width, blunt shoulders.

yin height - small height. yin is short, yang is tall. zendaya has yang height, tom has yin height. the yin/yang body characteristics concept was invented by belle northrup in the 20s and kibbe used this to build his system to explain human anatomy. yang is the "dramatic" angle, yin is the rounded "romantic" figure 8 line, and everyone has a balance of these lines in our silhouette and face. some people have equal amounts, they are called classic types. so, the amount of yin or yang or both determines your type. height already sorts you into one of kibbe's 5 main type categories. tom is in the so-called "gamine" family (= petite, angular), and zendaya is a "dramatic" type (=tall, angular).

so now you just learned the 5 basic kibbe body type categories:

DRAMATIC - NATURAL - CLASSIC - GAMINE - ROMANTIC.

we all fall into one of those, including subtypes. hope this was helpful and sends you on an adventurous typing journey. it's a difficult but rewarding and practical aesthetics & fashion system to study.

tripleS just barely beat NewJeans in my poll -- don't worry, I'll go through each of these groups, but tripleS will be first. I'll look at the types of the oldest members (Yooyeon to Sullin) and give my thoughts on the other members.

Romantic (Shion)

Shion shows how roundness expresses itself in Rs. She has a light, dreamy, floaty feel to her. She has the natural double curve of Rs.

Theatrical Romantic (Yooyeon)

Yooyeon has delicate bone structure with trim curves. Shorter limbs as well, short vertical. She looks very yin overall.

Soft Gamine (Seoyeon)

Seoyeon is a definite SG. Soft facial features, overall compact and trim body with straight lines as opposed to the curves of R fam.

Flamboyant Gamine (Jiyeon, Kotone)

Both seem compact but have obvious elongation and/or pointy yang. The build is slightly more rectangular than SG, but Jiyeon and Kotone both have doll-like faces.

Dramatic classic (Sohyun, Kaede)

I think Sohyun and Kaede both have very moderate classic looking faces. Both look moderate overall. I think Kaede shows DC yang in her facial features and looks great in straight hair/straight details. Sohyun's style can be more natural-ish, but I think she's still DC.

Soft natural (Mayu, Nakyoung, Dahyun)

Mayu is a good example of a gaminish SN, she clearly benefits from openness and has blunted bone structure but still appears petite. Yunkyoung is a good example of an SN, she has that fresh sensual energy to a T. For Dahyun, I considered FG, but I think she looks gorgeous and most herself in natural-typical styles.

Flamboyant natural (Nien, Jiwoo, Lynn, Sullin)

Nien is the clearest FN example... ever! Jiwoo is a good example of an FN that looks moderate and not too frame-dominant, so she can get away with a lot of different silhouettes. Lynn and Sullin are both frame-dominant with broad shoulders, a modellesque FN body type.

Soft dramatic (Xinyu, Yubin, Chaeyeon)

I think Yubin and Chaeyeon are rather obvious examples of SD--they both have that eye-catching energy to them. Xinyu seems to have a strong frame, but I think she perfectly matches the essence of SD and I think her shoulders while broad don't throw off her trim elegance.

travis fimmel - soft natural

despite being so obviously in the natural family, he pulls off even the lightest and most delicate fabrics, decorum, plus waist emphasis very easily. pure n can't go that detailed. braided hair, fluffy beards and chainmail: yin! his weight gain pattern (e.g. his cheeks fill out) accentuates his romantic undercurrent, and he seems smaller next to his costars. SN is the most petite of the N family. beautiful man!

alexa demie - theatrical romantic

she is not as full figure 8 and D cup+ like the pure romantic. her arms are more angular and structured especially. in control femme fatale is a good descriptor, not innocent dream spinner. pulls off edgier, darker styles. not a gamine, curls > pixie, and her image is not "mischief/comedy/cutie", but "don't mess with me/siren/artistic". narrower frame than only softly wide, but with killer curves.

jacob elordi - flamboyant natural

rounded shoulder line, not skinnily angular (like D). top heavy, massive arms and pecs and thighs, like all Ns. D is slim, lithe, or narrow, jacob is powerfully built. looks best in jeans fabrics. often at odds with high fashion, needs to go more casual. broad around the waist (rules out SD). very flat cheekbones, D has very noticeable ones. boxed in by sharp suits, unconstructed athleisure is top notch on him.
