QOTD: Recommend me an underrated book! 😁 * • * Mini review! Gray Wolf Island by @traceyneithercott from Knopf Books (@penguinrandomhouse ) * • * I won this book in a giveaway about a year ago and I’m so happy I did! I don’t normally like magical realism so the fact that I have this book 4 stars has to tell you something! I was VERY intrigued by the mystery of the island and the treasure AND the characters. It is from two POV and one is a mystery character. It was written so well! And the character growth was done well, especially for a book that was only a little over 300 pages. The content was heavier than I had originally thought, but that’s okay, because it was really good! (I like heavier books, I was just surprised by this one). I’ve seen a lot of reviewers saying it’s a lot like The Raven Boys and I only half agree. The plot and story was different enough that it didn’t feel that similar. However, her writing style is very similar to Stiefvaters, and that’s a good thing! This book was weird in the best possible way! Oh, that ending hurt. So. Happy August, Bookstagram-fam! Last month before autumn starts! 😆 You know what the Bookstagram community reminds me of? College/University. The bookishiest college ever! Everyone has their classes (favorite genres), and we’re all gathered in the same area and “studying” similar things, which facilitates easy conversation. And different people know each other that you didn’t realize they knew, and it’s always fun finding out your friends are friends with your other friends. And there are even Bookstagammers (students) everyone seems to know because they lead big, well-attended events (challenges) on this “campus” of ours.
