namjoon and jungkook
feel absolutely blessed that you felt safe and comfortable enough to fall asleep in their lap.
would definitely freeze for a couple seconds once they realize but then would begin to play with your hair, softly running their fingers through it or massaging your scalp.
does whatever they can to keep you asleep.
would shush the other members.
jimin and hoseok
completely enamored with you
would feel compelled to kiss your skin gently, definitely listening to their umpulsive thoughts
would bring you closer or into a more comfortable position.
would try to cover you with a blanket but don't want to move you in anyway.
taehyung and jin
would feel so soft looking at you.
very gentle and would try to wake you thinking how it couldn't possibly be comfortable to sleep on them.
would end up carrying you to their bed and laying next to you, admiring you up close.
yoongi
so in love with you that he just gets that lil gummy smile on his lips before deciding that he is way to comfortable now to move.
would absolutely get comfortable with you, gently moving you both so you were laying down
cuddled together with his arm around your waist possessively.
May I please request a BTS headcanons? when they try to get close to their crush, like hug her, wrap their arms around her shoulder etc. their crush's niece/nephew (18 month old) won't let them. The baby is really possessive of their aunt and doesn't like anyone touching her.
this is such a cute idea!! tysm! <3

namjoon
you thanked namjoon as he handed you the popcorn and reclaimed his spot on the couch next to yours. the two of you shared the snacks and laughed at the movie, or at least, you were. namjoon would laugh along when you did, but you didnt realize that his mind was somewhere else.
namjoon wiped his sweaty palms on his pants for the third time, and swallowed harshly every time he thought you realized how nervous he was. just go for it already he thought.
he reached an arm behind him and was about to rest it on your shoulder when he heard tiny footsteps bouncing down the stairs. your niece rounded the corner and you smiled at her as she headed for the popcorn, but instead saw a horrible sight. “what are you doing to my aunty?” she yelled at namjoon and you quickly looked his way. he hid his attempt by scratching the back of his head and shrugging. you frowned and moved to sit on the floor with your niece.
“what are you talking about?” you questioned as she curled up in your lap. “he was doing something weird.” she frowned back and pointed at namjoon; “stay away from my aunty!” you giggled and hugged her in tight and namjoon remained on the couch, alone. too embarrassed to join you on the floor or even try to get close to you with your niece around.

jin
you, jin, and your nephew walked around the mall together, you tried to find something for your sister’s birthday but instead kept getting dragged into stores that had any toys in the display windows. “aunty, lets go into this store too!” you nodded as he dragged you in, jin following closely behind you. “maybe (y/n) can pick the next store, is that okay?” jin asked your nephew, who just looked right through him. “no, im picking the stores today, aunty’s my date!” he runs to an aisle furthest from jin and continues his search for toys. your nephew still in sight, you join jin in the isle he’s currently in.
“im sorry about him jin” he just smiles at you “dont be sorry, hes cute even though he doesn’t like me much” resting a hand on his arm, you respond; “just give him some time, im sure hes just not used to you yet.” you smile at him and he blushes; reaching for your hand to hold, the little boy once again ruins his plans. “dont touch my aunty!” he grabs the hand jin was meant to be holding and began tugging you away from him. “leave him there aunty, he cant come with us.” you laugh at this, “baby he drove us here, we aren’t leaving him.” jin laughed as well, hiding his frustrated emotions well.

yoongi
you were at the studio with yoongi, the two of you sat in the chairs facing his computer while he showed you some of his new music; your niece sat on the couch behind you playing with her toys. “thank you for letting me bring her.” you thank yoongi. he smiles; “its no problem, im just glad you could come.” you smiled at this, “me too.” his gaze lingered long enough for your heart to race, and as he tore his eyes from you he grabbed his headphones. he placed them on you and before he played his song he said “tell me what you think of this song i made for y—”
he was cutoff by a scream and you both jerked your heads back to find your niece standing on the couch, pointing straight at yoongi. “what are you doing to her?! get away!” the two of you sat there, confused. when he didn’t get up to move, she yelled again, “i said get away!” with this she jumped off the couch and ran over to him, pushing him back as he remained sitting in the chair and it rolled back slightly. just enough for her to hop into your lap, hugging you tight and giving yoongi death glares.
“you cant get close to her again, only me!” he smiled, but was disappointed he couldn’t share the song he made for you.
<3
hobi
you and hobi held tightly onto your niece’s hands, swinging her in the air with every other step. she laughed and you joined her; hobi grinning ear-to-ear and watching you. once you arrived at the park, your niece dropped your hands and ran to the playground. you glanced over at hobi as she went down the slide; “thank you for being here with me.” you smiled and placed a kiss on his cheek, one that he absolutely wasn’t expecting but oh god he just fell more in love.
“there’s no where else i’d rather be than right here beside you.” you blush and he leans in; returning the favor and placing a kiss on your cheek. the moment was sweet, but short. you hear a scream and see your niece running towards you. she hugs your leg tightly and cries out “you can’t do that to her!”
you and hobi give each other a questionable look, and hobi decides not to make anymore moves. at least, not with your niece around.
<3
jimin
you were upset when jimin invited you out to a movie, but told him you couldn’t go because you had to watch your nephew. he smiled at this and invited him too; anything if he could spend time with you. once at the movie, your nephew sat on your left and jimin on your right. he quickly noticed you laughing with jimin and got jealous. he tried to get your attention too but when jimin grabbed your hand, that was his last straw.
“hey” he whispers over you and looks dead in jimin’s eyes. “let go of her!” he grabs your left hand as jimin still holds your right one. when jimin didnt let go, he pulls a card jimin cant. he crawls onto your lap, tugging your hand out of jimin’s and holds both of them, getting comfortable on your lap. you laugh and begin to watch the movie again as your nephew smiles at jimin, knowing he’s won this one.
<3
taehyung
standing in the kitchen holding your niece, you laughed as she tugged on your hair and attempted to eat it. you spun her around as she laughed with you, and even though you didnt notice it, taehyung stood in the corner and giggled at the two of you; loving the sight of you with your niece and someday hoped to see the same sight with your own kid. he quietly entered the kitchen and suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist, your back pressed to his chest as you held your niece in your arms.
you stopped spinning at the sudden contact and blushed, but it didn’t last long when your niece smacked taehyung’s arm away. neither one of the two said anything, she just glared daggers through taehyung and he took it as his sign to keep his distance. for now.
<3
jungkook
your nephew kept the couch to himself, quietly sitting behind you and jungkook. every once in a while, he’d look up from his toys and look down at the two of you, wondering why this random guy kept scooting closer to his aunty. he tried to watch the two of you play the video game, but found it too boring and so he focused back to his toys. all of a sudden, the man broke the silence and spoke; “(y/n) you’re doing it wrong, try it like this..” at this he looked up and saw something horrible.
this man; this random man in your house was now holding your hands over the controller. he had to stop this. from the couch he stood, and jumped onto jungkook’s back. he released your hands and wrapped arms around your nephew to keep him from falling. “you aren’t allowed to do that to her!” he screamed. you pried him off jungkook’s back and then got put in timeout. “i was just trying to help you aunty, he touched you!” you sighed and begun to explain that he can’t act like that when jungkook spoke up;
“it’s alright (y/n), he was just looking out for you!” he smiled but deep down inside was upset.
“Hi, I’m just calling to make a payment please? Yeah it’s Y/N, account number… Sure it’s, 134340.”
“I’ll just pop you on a brief hold while I load your account.”
“Okay thanks.”
It’s Wednesday, you’re on your lunch break at work and figured you should pay off as much of your credit card debt as possible while you’ve still got a positive bank balance, you expect Jungkook won’t be sending you any more money in the future – not that you’re complaining obviously, you’d rather him be your boyfriend than your sugar daddy any day of the week. Jungkook is your boyfriend, your actual boyfriend, your partner, your lover… It’s only been two weeks since you made it official but you catch yourself smiling in the staff room mirror at the thought of him. You cringe. So this is what it feels like to be happy, to be loved.
“Y/N?” The male customer service representative comes back on the line.
“Mhm.” You try not to choke on the pineapple chunks you’re eating for lunch, swallowing them quickly, “Hello?”
“Hi… Can I get that account number again please?”
“134340.” You repeat, double checking the notes in your phone to make sure that’s right, which it is.
“One moment please.” The cheesy hold music comes back, but you’re in too much of a good mood to really notice.
You don’t particularly like your job, you’re a waitress in a small café a short walking distance from your apartment, you’ve been here for almost three years now – it’s not quite what you had in mind when you graduated business school. Back then you thought you would’ve had your own company by now, dreaming of the day you’d finally become a CEO of something important, but life just hasn’t worked out that way for you.
“Y/N?”
“Yes, hello.” You take a sip of water, fixing your makeup in the mirror in front of you.
“That account is closed.”
“What?” You frown, that account has a balance of nearly eight grand it’s definitely not closed. “No there has to be a mistake, the last time I made a payment I was told the balance was seven thousand and something, that was like three weeks ago?”
The man clears his throat, “I can see the account was paid off in full two days ago Miss.”
“What? But I haven’t made a payment in weeks.” You’re so beyond confused right now, you even take him off speaker phone and hold the device next to your ear to make sure you’re hearing this right.
“The balance of seven thousand, eight hundred and ninety four pounds exactly was paid directly to us two days ago… By a Mister Jeon.”
That bastard.
“Uh, okay… So I don’t owe you guys anything?”
“Not as of two days ago Miss. Is there anything else I can help you with today?”
“No that’s it thank you, have a nice day.” You end the call abruptly, scrolling your contacts with a deep frown until you find Jungkook’s name.
The line rings three times before he answers, his tone is sweet and chirpy. You have exactly five minutes left on your lunch break and so you need to make this quick.
“Hey baby, what’s up are you okay?”
“Is there something you wanna tell me?” You sound pissed, but in reality you’re smiling like an idiot at his pet name for you, carefully watching the clock.
“Uhh…” He clicks his tongue, you can practically hear the confused expression he’s no doubt wearing, “Did I forget something? It’s not your birthday for a few months is it?”
“No it’s not my birthday,” You silently chuckle, “Try again.”
“Mmm… Gonna need a bit more information than that Y/N. Have I done something wrong?” He sounds worried and your chest swells, fuck, he’s so considerate and caring. “Is this about you meeting my parents? Because we don’t fly out til Sunday and my mom’s really looking forward to it so please don’t be worried, I’ve already told you they’re gonna love you.”
“Nope, this has nothing to do with us going to Korea.”
There’s a brief pause, you can only imagine the look on his face right now as he’s trying to figure out why you’re calling him, “Ah, this is about Friday, when we get back from Seoul.” He sounds proud as a realisation hits him.
“What’s happening on the Friday we get back from Seoul?” It’s your turn to be confused.
“…We’re having dinner with your parents? Your mom emailed the business for my personal number since you wouldn’t give it to her. She wouldn’t take no for an answer.” He’s laughing now, you hear his office chair squeak when he must’ve leaned back.
“Oh.” You’re embarrassed, vaguely recalling a conversation with her where she did mention something about that, at the time you’d thought she was joking but apparently not. “Thank you both for letting me know, but no it’s not about my parents either.”
“Come on I have no idea what you’re talking about, I’m sorry.”
“You will be when I see you.” You scoff.
“Is it that bad? What did I do?” Though he sounds amused you know for a fact he’s sitting in his office in total panic mode – ever since making things official he’s constantly worried that he’s not being a good boyfriend, which only makes you fall for him even harder.
“So I just tried to make a payment on my credit card bill.” You tut, and the correct realisation hits him like a tonne of bricks.
“Ah…” You can hear his breathy chuckle through the phone, “How’d that go?”
“I’m your girlfriend now, you can’t just go around paying my debts without telling me. I was going to pay it off today anyways.”
“Well now you don’t need to.” You’re certain one of his brows are raised, his cockiness is so obvious even over the phone that you roll your eyes.
“Jungkook.” You warn him, noticing you’ve only got one minute left on your lunch break.
“Yes?” He’s so painfully smug.
“I’m serious! Why did you do that? You didn’t have to, and you shouldn’t have done it.” You’re trying to sound stern but you’re grinning like an idiot, it’s a good job he can’t see you right now.
“I did it because I wanted to.”
“I’m your girlfriend, not your sugar baby.” You remind him, mentally preparing yourself for the rest of your shift.
“Exactly. You’re my girlfriend, what’s mine is yours baby.”
“I gotta go to work,” You chew your lower lip to stifle a giggle, “But this isn’t over!”
“No, I didn’t think it would be.” He’s laughing again, the sound alone gives you butterflies, “You should probably know that I paid off your student loans and catalogues too, I think you’re officially debt free now.”
“Jungkook!” Your mouth falls open in shock as you frown, that’s a lot of money. Well it is to you, evidently not for someone like him. “No Kook that’s too much, why have you done that?!”
“Because I wanted to, now you don’t have to worry about them.”
“Yeah well you shouldn’t have… We’ll talk about this properly later and work out how to get your money refunded.” You stand up, smoothing out your pink apron, “Ugh I can’t believe you! I’m gonna kill you when I next see you.”
“and you’re gonna be happy...and you’re gonna be happy. when everything is new, zero o’clock”

-----------------------------------------------
Words always seemed to fail you when you needed them the most.
Today had been one of the most overstimulating days you have experienced in a long time, leaving you completely drained of any and all energy.
You were late to work because you had to run and get some last-minute supplies that you had failed to get the night before, you had almost run out of gas in your car and barely made it to work, and during an important meeting, your computer shut down because you forgot to charge it.
You had tried to hard not to melt down during the day; you couldn’t afford to let your feelings overwhelm you when you already had your boss and coworkers staring you down, just waiting for you to mess up again. You just wanted to go home and lay in your big makeshift nest, surrounded by your boyfriend’s scent.
Leaving the office finally, you went to make your way to your car, now filled with gas as you took a trip to the gas station on your lunch, leaving you with no food eaten all day, when it begins to rain, leaving you completely soaked by the time you make it inside your car.
You could feel your eyes begin to swell with unshed tears, just trying to keep your cool until you could reach the comfort of your home.
The red lights you seem to hit at every stop remind you of your current situation, nothing seeming to go your way. Your own body seeming to move against you as you feel the tears moving down your cheek, your eyesight becoming blurry as more unshed tears pool, waiting for the chance to free themselves and move down your already stained cheeks.
The only noise heard is the radio playing some sad song, not helping your dreary state. Wiping your cheek, you turn right, pulling onto your street. What is usually a ten minute drive became a long half hour drive as the rain and your tears made it hard to drive, and you kept hitting all the red lights.
It seemed the universe was against you today.
You didn’t even try to rush into the house, letting the rain soak you to hide your tear-stained cheeks. Maybe then the boys wouldn’t realize you had been crying.
They had been working hard on their next comeback, most days spent in the practice room, sometimes even nights as they worked on finishing the tracks. You were used to their lifestyle, your love for them worth more than the time you spent apart, but sometimes, you just needed to be held in their arms, to know that you were loved and appreciated. You needed the reassurance only they could provide.
However, you knew that it probably wouldn’t come until after their comeback, when they were told they would have some much-needed time off, something you wished would come much sooner.
Sitting outside for a couple minutes, trying to hold in your sobs, you manage to calm down a little bit, reassured only by the fact you knew the boys were at the studio; no one would be seeing the state you were in and you would be able to just wash yourself in their scents before they got home and passed out from exhaustion wherever they could.
After about five minutes, you finally stood up and made your way into the house, dropping your soaked jacket onto the clothes rack, noticing a towel on the floor. Shaking your head, you don’t question it, walking from the doorway into the living room so you could walk up the stairs. Only, you don’t enter an empty living room like you thought you were going to, four men occupied the couch, seemingly waiting for you to get home.
“Baby! You’re home! How was work?” Jimin’s voice was light, excited that you were home. They had spent all morning working hard so they could have the night off to spend with you. Comeback time was always hard on everyone, as it meant time away from the person they love most. They wanted to show you how much they appreciated you and loved you. Jin and Yoongi making your favorite dish as Hobi went and got the big bathtub ready so all of you could relax in the bath together.
What they were counting on were the very visible tear marks streaming down your face.
“Love, what happened?” Namjoon spoke softly, slowly moving from the couch and over to where you stood.
You opened your mouth to speak, to reassure them that you were fine, but nothing came out. It was as if the cord connecting your brain and your vocal cords has been cut, the words you wanted to say coming only halfway. You tried a couple of more times to get the words out, but nothing came.
That’s when everything came crashing down, your body bolting for the stairs, trying to just make it to your bed where you knew you were safe, could feel safe.
Barely managing to remove the wet clothes holding you hostage, you threw yourself onto the bed, burrowing yourself under the pile of blankets you always had on the bed. Just as you managed to become one with the blankets, you could hear the door open, a slight creak made from the movement.
“Joon! We were supposed to be quiet, not make all the noise in the world.” You hear Taehyung whisper, his tone scolding as the door opened fully, showing your folded form on the bed. They could just make out the top of your head from underneath the pile of blankets you managed to cover yourself with.
They all knew when you got this way, that your body was fighting against you in the worst way, your mind shutting down and not allowing your body to function properly, like it was designed.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time you had shut down or gone nonverbal in their presence, and they knew it wasn’t going to be the last. All they could do was show you how much love they held for you, and help you work through your emotions and thoughts.
Walking forward to the bed, Jimin removed the blankets keeping you from them, and instead used his weight to provide the deep pressure you were seeking from the blankets, his arms wrapping themselves around your back to hold you close to him.
Nuzzling his nose into your neck, he watched as the other walked forward, Jungkook and Taehyung laying on either side of you as Namjoon opted to sit at the top of the bed, brushing his fingers through your hair, knowing how much it reminded you of when you were little and your mom would run her fingers through your hair when you were sad.
They just held you close, sweet words whispered throughout the room as they watched your eyes slowly become aware.
“Our pretty baby.” Jimin murmured into your neck, placing sweet kisses to your skin.
“Such a good girl.” Namjoon reassured, his voice deep with emotion as he looked down at the pile of his lovers, comforting their baby.
By the time you were aware of your surroundings again, you could feel the weight of Jimin on your chest, the warmth of your boyfriends on either side of you, their soft words catching your ears.
“Hey pretty baby.” You look up to see Joon, a smile on his face as he looks at you, his dimples on full display. You try to smile back, only to conclude that you can’t, your brain keeping you from moving your lips.
He doesn’t stop smiling down at you though, even after he realizes how deep you are being held in your brain. He just keeps running his fingers through your hair, scratching a little bit at your scalp as he moves.
You wanted so badly to be able to tell them everything. To express how you day went and that all you wanted was to be with them 24/7. You hated your mental illness as it left you wishing for normality, for the ability to communicate your needs. It left you hoping and praying that you weren’t driving your boys away. That you weren’t holding them back or keeping them from moving on.
You clenched your eyes shut, willing the dark thoughts to disappear, turning your head to the left where you knew you could burry your head in the pillow.
“Hey little one. It’s okay.” Jungkook cupped your cheek, bringing his face closer to your own as he nuzzled your cheek. “You’re doing such a good job baby.”
A sweet kiss was placed on your lips, your eyes opening to see Jungkook, his bunny grin on display as his eyes were locked on your own. He knew you were trying so hard to be on top of everything for them, that you were keeping your needs to yourself why you tried to do everything in your power to be what you thought the needed. But they all knew they would rather you tell them what you needed.
They loved you and would do anything for you, even if it meant slowing down their career.
You shook your head, the only form of communication available to you at the moment to show your disagreement of Jungkook’s statement. You watched as Jungkook’s nose scrunched up at your movement, his eyebrows raised in disbelief.
“Baby. I know today may not have been a good day, but I am—we are so proud of you. You do so much for us. We know that you don’t want to let us know what’s wrong, that you don’t want to tell us what you need in fear of us not listening. But I want you to know that we will prove to you day after day how much we truly love and cherish you.” Jungkook’s words make you tear up again.
“You are our love and we don’t know what we would do without you in our life, where we would be if you hadn’t knocked into Hobi that day.” A small smile appears on your face, just the sight Taehyung was hoping for when he reminded you of your meeting, when you quite literally knocked Hobi onto his ass when you walked into him.
“Please baby, you need to talk to us more. We hate seeing you like this. If you are having a bad day, let us know. We can always make up some excuse for you and have Jiminie pick you up.” Namjoon grasps onto your chin, tilting your head back so you could look at him as he spoke.
“We want to be there for you like you are for us, but you have to let us in.”
Footsteps made their way into the bedroom, the older boys making their way into the room to see you all cuddled together, some tear-stained cheeks and puffy eyes.
Before making their way up, Namjoon had told the two oldest what was going on, telling them to keep cooking while they went to see what was wrong. Jin then telling Hobi.
“Hey pretty lady. We have a warm bath going in the big tub if you are up for it?” Hobi’s words are warm as he cups your cheeks, looking over your face for any hint of rejection at his words. But you just nod, a hint of a smile on your face.
Helping you out from under Jimin, who whined that he was comfy, Hobi picked you up in his arms, not wishing to have you walk when you could be held by him.
Bringing you into the bathroom, he sat you on the counter so he could remove your under garments, the clothing sticking to your skin from the rain. He made sure to remove your make up with a warm cloth, his movements calculated as he wipes away any trace of the bad day.
Taking a step back, he looks over you, warmth evident on his face as his eyes trace every dip and curve of your body.
“You are so beautiful, love.” You couldn’t help but blush, still not used to the compliments they shower you with. You watch as he gets himself undressed before picking you up again and resting you both in the tub, the lavender and vanilla bath bomb being dropped in by Jin, who had just walked in as you were getting in the tub.
You were fascinated by the fizzing and whirling of the bath bomb that you didn’t even notice the rest of the boys joining you and Hobi. Their eyes soft as they watch you entranced with the bath bomb.
You spent the rest of the bath being taken care of; multiple hands washing away the day from your skin. Soft kisses being placed on the expanse of your body as you were manhandled to sit in everyone’s lap, all wanting the chance to help you relax and provide you the comfort they knew you were seeking.
You were their baby and they would burn the world down for you.
You ended up in Jin’s arms by the end of your bath, his arms wrapped tight around your stomach as he held you close, drying the both of you off before dressing you in his t-shirt and your underwear. He loved when you would wear their clothes, the shirts swallowing you whole and reminding everyone how much smaller you were compared to them.
Not once letting your feet touch the ground, Jin carried you the entire way to the dining room, where the table was already set. Grabbing you from Jin’s arms, Yoongi brought you into his lap, holding you close as he cradled your head to his chest.
You didn’t move the entire time, content with letting the boys move you to their will. Yoongi holding you to his chest as he fed you dinner. In between bites of food he would hold you tighter, providing you endless comfort and reassurance of his presence.
Jungkook was the next to pick you up, setting you in his lap as he rests his body into the couch, blankets and pillows everywhere as they planned to snuggle and watch movies with you. Maneuvering you to his desire, he holds you tight, his chin hooked over your shoulder as you watch your favorite movie. His hand moves up and down your arm as the other hand holds you to his chest.
The warmth and love they were showering you with left you soft and pliable to their will, your own mind seemingly empty as you laid back against Jungkook’s chest, stealing his warmth. Small laughs left you as you watched the movie, trying your hardest not to fall asleep before the night was over, not wanting it to end.
But your body had a mind of its own, the day leaving you exhausted and your mind is now telling you that you are safe, in your lover’s arms, that you can finally rest from the long day.
Your eyes slowly close at the sight of Jimin attempting to catch popcorn in his mouth, courtesy of Taehyung, Yoongi and Hobi laughing at the two in the background, cuddling up with each other in the small two seater you have.
Warmth and love being the only thing on your mind as you fall asleep peacefully.

Summary: When you fell in love with Hoseok, you knew he was the man you’d spend the rest of your life with, even if it meant leaving your home country to live with him in Korea. But when the homesickness starts to settle in again and you decide to pay your country a visit, your husband doesn’t really take your absence as well as he lets on, and your daughter knows it.
A/N: Hi! I was on such a steady roll for a while that it feels like this is my first time uploading in ages even though it’s only been about a week I think. Finally finished my exams last week so moving home and out of my apartment for the summer has changed up my schedule. Anyway, just to note, you and Hoseok have been together for years before this so of course you’ve been to your home country now and again despite living in Korea with him. It’s not like you just completely up and ditched your family, lol. But remember that for the majority of your dating years, Hoseok was busy on tour and in the studio. I imagine you’d visit home a few times but Hoseok wasn’t able to accompany you for most of it, being as busy at he was. He mostly connected with your family through phone calls and texts. Once you got married and he slowed down his career, he could visit your family alongside you more often, but this is his first time being present (not on tour/busy) when you visit home on your own, hence his unfamiliarity with you being away from him in this au. Hopefully, that provides some context. If anyone’s interested, I’d love to do an au on how you and Hoseok met/what life was like when you were dating/in college and living through his superstar days. As always, please let me know if you enjoy! Thank you for reading. :)
...
Fresh-picked flowers lined the kitchen as per usual, in vases on counters, as centerpieces on tables, and on the floor in tall marble pots. One of your many candles rested above the living room's coffee table, filling the air with a calming scent. All throughout the home's bottom floor, floor-to-ceiling windows rest uncovered, allowing the gentle rays of the sun to light the space naturally.
Nothing was out of place in the beautiful dwelling you got to call home. Except for the smile on your husband's face.
Your home has grown familiar with Hoseok's sighs ever since you rolled your suitcase out the door the day before. It was usually Hoseok who was out and about, flying across the world, and moving from one place to the other. In the mornings, when he woke up, you were next to him with your smiling face. In the evenings, when he came home, you were there to greet him with a hug and kiss. And on the days where he was able to spend afternoons at home, you were more than willing to spend it cuddled up in your abode with him.
Since his debut, you'd been the one constantly waiting on him. Late nights on the couch, fighting to stay awake to see him come home. Or late nights beside him in the studio, yawning as you listened to track after track because Hoseok wasn't ready to give up. Or afternoons you spent lounging in bed, already missing the man who'd once again had to run off to dance practice after dance practice. Not to forget, all the months you'd spent wishing he'd finally walk through the door, knowing he was on stage across the world.
Hoseok wasn't used to things being the other way around. In his world that moved so fast, you were one of the only constants in his life. Every time he looked for you, you were just about always there. Maybe had he still been in his younger years, running in between studios and practice rooms and tour buses and photoshoots, he wouldn't have felt your absence as much. But now that the two of you had finally settled down, bought a home, and started your family, the newfound slowness to his life meant he was spoiled with time to spend with you. Hoseok had almost forgotten what it was like to be away from you for more than a couple of hours.
Which is why, now, with you deciding to return to your home country for some time, everything in your perfect home suddenly felt so out of place for your gloomy husband.
His shoulders hung as he swung open the refrigerator door, grabbing a cold bottle of lemonade from inside. He took a swig before making his way up the stairs and to the office, deciding to work on some lyrics to pass the time. He twirls a pen between his fingers, leaning back in his seat as he stares at the ceiling. He doesn't remember being so dejected about your departure when you'd left. In fact, anyone looking in from the outside would see that he was encouraging you to go. He knew how homesick you'd been for the past month. Your playlist of songs that reminded you of home seemed to frequent your search history more than others and you were unknowingly talking about your family more than usual. While Hoseok of course loved having you with him, he always felt slightly guilty that you'd basically uprooted your entire life when you decided to stay with him in Korea, especially knowing that it meant you'd be apart from your parents and siblings. Being as close as he was to his, he couldn't imagine how it must feel.
So he smiled as you threw your duffle bag over your shoulder and grabbed the handle to your suitcase. It wasn't until the door shut behind you that he realized he may have been slightly faking it all along.
You huffed, finally allowing yourself to believe you hadn't forgotten anything, as you scanned your bags one last time. Hoseok walks up to stand before you, followed by your two little duckling-like children. "Just go!" Hoseok laughs as Sage and Hui plop down at his feet. "You've checked your bags like five times now. And yes, I've been counting." You groan, laughing at yourself as well when you realize how silly you're being. "I just want to make sure I have everything!" Deep down, you know that maybe you're actually just not ready to leave the three of them yet.
You give up on checking your bags, knowing Hoseok will scold you if you open up another one to sift through. But as always, your brain runs a mile a minute and you're quick to find something else to busy your brain that stops you from leaving the house once again. "There's still salad in the fridge! Make sure to use it up before it goes bad okay?" you remind your husband to which he nods. "Okay, and um... Oh! I did laundry last night but it's still in the dryer so remember to bring it out please." Hoseok nods again as a smile creeps onto his face. He already knows this is just the start of a ramble session he'd have to cut you off from, lest you miss your flight. You did this every time the two of you were about to part for an extended period of time. "Okay, and what else?.. Oh, formula's in the cabinet, diapers are in the closet-" "Yes, yes, I have also been feeding and changing diapers for the past four years," Hoseok says, pointing to the two toddlers curled around his legs. You mentally smack yourself. "Right, right.." you huff, unable to think of anything more to add to your procrastination.
"You're going to miss your flight," your husband warns, pulling you into a last goodbye hug. You sigh wrapping your arms around him. "I know," you whine sadly. "I'll see you when I get back." "Mhm, bye baby," he says. "Even though we already said goodbye ten minutes ago," he snarkily adds and you laugh at your failed previous attempt to leave each other.
"Bye, mommy!" Your two-year-old, Hui, calls from his spot on the floor. "Bye sweetie!" you grin, leaning down to reach his eye level. "Are you sure you guys will be okay?" you pout at your husband. "Of course we will!" He cheers, reaching down to scoop the boy into his arms. "We're going to have so much fun, aren't we, son?" Hoseok reaches up to tickle his stomach, causing an eruption of laughter. "See?" Hoseok smiles at you, watching as the worry falls from your shoulders.
His pen clattering against the table as it slips from his fingers wakes Hoseok from his thoughts. His feigned coolness about your solo vacation was likely also to do with the two of you's kids, asleep a few rooms down. If there was anyone who should have such an adverse reaction to your leaving, it should be the toddlers. Hoseok knew the best way to keep them from trying to dissuade you with tantrums and tears was to be positive himself. And as hoped, his desire for you to fill the growing hole in your heart rubbed off on your children. Sage and Hui's combined maturity and big heart despite their young age helped them to understand the situation. Hoseok smiled at the thought of his smart kids. They were being raised well.
The rest of the day without you after you'd left had gone rather smoothly. Hoseok spent it having playtime, cooking dinner, and watching movies with the two as night fell. It wasn't until he'd stepped into his empty bed and felt the quiet chill of the house that the longing feeling began to sink in. And waking up to the empty bed once again was no better. Sage and Hui were his only distractions, but now, with the two of them tucked into bed for their regular afternoon naps, he found himself thinking of you once more.
Usually, the kids' nap times were you and Hoseok's holy grails. The two of you would synchronously plop onto the couch with a sigh after finally getting them down. It was one of the only chances the two of you had for alone time. Hoseok finds it funny that he's now wishing the kids would wake up sooner.
"Focus, Hoseok," he mutters to himself, directing back to the journal in front of him. He's finally able to start scribbling down some ideas when a small voice perks up beside him.
"Daddy?"
Hoseok nearly jumps from his chair, clutching his chest to stop the shriek that threatens to leave him as he looks down at the small body that's crept next to him. "Sage, sweetie, you scared me," he gulps. "Sorry!" she shrieks. He chuckles. "It's okay. You're up already?" he asks with a ruffle to her hair. The little girl furrows her brows up at him. "It's been an hour," she says, pointing to the clock above his desk. Hoseok looks up to see the time. Sure enough, she's correct. "Oh, I guess it has," he laughs. There's no one more punctual than a kid who hates nap time.
"But Hui is still sleeping," she adds. Hoseok lifts beneath her arms and sits her on his lap. "That's okay. We'll let him sleep for a bit more then," he says, kissing her cheek. Sage nods before twisting in his lap to face him. She stares up at him intently without saying anything, and Hoseok quirks an eyebrow at her. "What is it?" he asks.
"You've been sad since mommy left," she pouts.
Hoseok stares down at the little girl, wondering when she was able to draw that conclusion in between his happy smiles and giggles. He can't help but notice that she stares at him with the same studious expression that you often wear when you know something is wrong. He was never able to fake his emotions around you, which is why you were one of the few people he could be honest with. It seems as though your ability to understand him has been passed down to his little one as well.
She lifts the pen from his fingers and reaches down to his journal, scribbling down an image that he can only guess might be a bunny.
"When me and Hui miss you, mommy tells us to draw you a picture!" she smiles, scribbling away happily. Her cute voice warms Hoseok's heart. When she passes the pen back to him, two bunnies are doodled upon a bed of grass under a smiling sun in the corner. Sage looks up to smile cutely at him and all he can do is pull her into his chest and hug her tight.
He thought to all the pages of drawings he'd collected over the years that lay safely in his studio where he could look at them when he, too, missed his little babies. "You should try drawing a picture for mommy," Sage suggests with her soft voice. "It might make you feel better."
Hoseok smiles. "Yeah, I agree."
He brings the pen to the paper once again, adding two more bunnies, larger than the first two, and some flowers growing behind them. "That looks really good, daddy!" Sage encourages, clapping her hands together. "Mommy will love it!"
He laughs. "Thank you, baby," he lands another sweet kiss to the crown of her head. "But you're so good at this, I think your drawings might be a bit better than mine," he adds. She giggles making him smile wider. "Help me out?" he asks, passing the pen back to her. She nods happily, adding more doodles around the page before passing it back to Hoseok who does the same. The two continue on like that for quite a while, the room filling with laughter, smiles, and the sound of the pen dragging against the paper. In the midst of their doodle fiasco, Hoseok's phone rings, the screen lighting up with your image, signaling a video call from you.
"It's mommy!" Sage squeals, leaping forward to grab the phone and accept your call.
"Hi, guys!" you smile, happy to see two of the faces you've already missed so much. "I just landed in the airport. How are you, my loves?" "We're good, mommy!" Sage is quick to answer, too excited to see you. She lifts the page that she and Hoseok have been working on until it fills the camera. "Look, daddy and I drew you a picture!" You coo happily, the sight bringing a happy pout to your face. "Did you now?" Hoseok grins at your reaction. "Yes, we did," he says.
"It's beautiful you guys, wow. Thank you so much!" you beam. "I can't wait to see it up close when I get back."
"Me too," Sage responds with a jut of her bottom lip. "We miss you." "So much," Hoseok agrees. "I miss you all, too," you sympathize, adding with a reassuring smile, "But I'll be back soon!" Hoseok nods, giving a squeeze to the girl on his lap. You smile seeing the affection. "I love you guys."
"We love you too, mommy."

A/N: Last note! I don’t know if anyone’s interested enough in these stories to do this lol, but if so I would like to open up a drabble or request list maybe. It could give me more ideas to write. Or also provide clarity for any parts of the storyline that might be confusing? I try to keep the storyline as concise as possible but with so many ideas in my head, I might jumble things up or forget to give context that readers might need and I haven’t provided yet. But, I don’t know! Just an idea :) If there's anyone who'd like to, just feel free to send them in!

pt.1 | pt.2?
Sweet honey dripped off his tongue as his sibilant whispers of gentle lies eased out of his mouth like second nature.
He never misses a beat.
His fiction was your fantasy, everything you had wished and hoped for complete in all six feet of him, a narrative you knew all too well to be of fabrication was the life you both succumbed to. He would never let the words slip past his lips that he was beginning to fall out of love with you, as if he would ever say anything with diffidence, so you lived in deception. Your feelings, whatever they were or might be, lived in a box in your mind, so easily accessible yet just as easily haunting. You were your own ghost.
Your body lay under silk blankets, your legs tangled with your lover who laid bare before you. A sweet devil he was, indeed, his warmth for you didn’t come from his heart. He put his fulfillment in you not because he felt for you, but it was because his desire to feel you was the only thing that still tied him to you, again and again and again...
Although your — feelings — for one another were drawing soon to be obsolete, the safety and comfort in the tangled mess of your bodies entwined was enough to have you both come back.
‘My love... I’ll change for you.’
‘Tell me what I need to do to have you love me once more. I’ve shed enough tears to fill an ocean for you, I have fought wars in my mind for you, I have faced the devil himself. Say the word, and I’ll jump for you... and I’ll fly. Just watch me.’
“And even if it takes the rest of my life, I’ll love you right again. It’s only you. Please-... please, don’t leave me just yet. I won’t be able to handle this without you. Not now...”
He danced on the strings of your heart as these vulnerable words fell out of his mouth. He finally said... what he was feeling. Although it wasn’t directly to you, it was still just as reassuring.
Cold tears soaked the top of your head as he placed his warm lips on your forehead. A kiss.
“I never stopped loving you. Not for a second. Its just... ugh... how are you so strong? How are you still able to love me without fear?”
His voice wavered and cracked, cold arms securely pulling you closer to his chest.
‘My love, you think I’m strong? ...With no fear? Oh, I’m far from that.’
‘I’m scared to death.’

365 days before
“Are you okay?”
Answering that question wasn’t getting any easier, but lying and saying that you’re doing “just fine” was.
Two months has already passed since you broke up with your ex, Jungkook, and at the time it was way more than just perfectly rational, but hearing his name being mentioned every day made moving on that much more impossible.
Some days you would be so extremely relieved that it’s over, so glad that you don’t have to go through feeling like you weren’t important, so grateful now that you don’t have to feel like a second option anymore.
But, then you see him, or hear his name, or someone would walk past you wearing the same cologne you always bought for him, and it’s like all those nights of crying and feeling like you weren’t good enough for him never happened. You would see him smile, that damn smile, that always made your heart skip— and for a single second before you would feel hollow all over again, You would have hope that maybe he would come back and love you right.
He didn’t deserve it, but if he wanted to come back into your life, you would willingly let him stay just because you would rather have all the horrible pieces of him than not have him at all. That’s just how you were, you have a very forgiving soul, and forgive people that don’t deserve it.
It was pathetic— all the things you still felt for him was just so pathetic. He was an absolutely shit boyfriend, not just for refusing to mention to anyone that you were dating for the first half of the relationship because he, “loved you so much” and, “telling people would just get in the way of us being together,” or whatever dumbass excuse he would come up with whenever you would ask… he got mad over things that made no sense at all.
He just didn’t know how to let the minuscule things go. He was absolutely insane sometimes.
but goddamn, was the sex so good.
You would constantly remind yourself how much of an asshole he was when you would begin to miss him (more specifically: miss his dick), but even if you hated him, you couldn’t control your brain to stop thinking about him. It was just impossible.
You were currently laying down on your small bed in the even smaller space of your dorm, playing music quietly out loud as you flip through the pages of your sociology textbook.
Even though you were trying your hardest to pay attention, your eyes kept wandering towards your phone placed screen-side up on your desk. It has gone off multiple times over the course of 5 minutes, and you knew exactly who was texting you: your best friend, Tae. It was Saturday after all, so of course he had some wild thing planned for you two to do, but you already decided to stay in your room and study.
Being best friends with Taehyung was both a blessing and curse, his natural charismatic energy was something that you adored, but because of that same charm he attracted lots of attention. You were never one to want any sort of attention, whether it be good or bad, so you avoided most parties. Parties meant having to leave your sanctuary, your bed, and that was something you were never up for doing.
Hearing your phone buzz one last time finally made you cave and reach out for it, clicking it open to reveal the messages waiting for you.
From Tae:
party at my place tonight! oh wait i forgot- youd rather fall off a cliff than actually have fun
From Tae:
can u for ONCE be cool and come to a party with me dAmn it’s not torture
From Tae:
i will sneak into the girl dorms and drag you out the window if i have to
From Tae:
YOU CANT IGNORE ME FOREVER
He was right, you couldn’t ignore him, no matter how much you wanted to sometimes.
It seemed ridiculous, but.. why not? You deserve to go out and have fun, You just got out of a shitty relationship and also managed to make it through this semester without balding from stress, so- why not?
With an exhale, you glanced down at the outfit you were currently draped in; an oversized long-sleeve shirt with pajama pants. If you wanted to go, you desperately needed to do something about your appearance.
You:
fine, i’ll be there. happy?

Music blasted so loud you could feel it shake under your feet, you were all packed into the living room like sardines. People were dancing and sloppily making out with strangers on couches, a classic sight to see at a college party. All the while you stood in the kitchen sipping only water out of a red solo cup, contemplating if coming here was even worth it.
Taking another sip your eyes began to wander, almost immediately halting.
There, against the dark wall, and although the room was dim, you can spot his smile anywhere. He was not just attractive, no, this boy was… divine.
“No, no no no no no…” Your head snapped around so quickly you thought for sure you would’ve given yourself whiplash, your heart feeling like it stopped beating.
‘Why is he here? Fuck. I haven’t seen him months. What am I supposed to do? What if he comes up to me? My God… I have to go, Tae will understand.’
Before you could comprehend what was happening, he was heading straight towards you.
Your body tensed, feeling like a statue. You couldn’t take your eyes off of him. You couldn’t move. You couldn’t breathe.
His gaze never left yours. He seemed to laugh to himself, as he pushed through people just to stand there before you.
Covered in black from his hair to his matching socks, he radiated a sense of danger. His hair was messily slicked back and tattoos were trailing up his arms and neck.
“So, were you just planning on staring at me all night?”
His voice was dripping in charm and a closer look into his caramel brown eyes, you started to feel like you were being hypnotized.
Noticing that you have been gazing at him for what seems like hours already, you turned your head away from him.
“Were you planning on doing the same?” Your comebacks were weak but you weren’t wrong, he was the one who seemed to be staring at you first.
“I’m hoping that maybe I can… or, I can do more.” He laughed, only about a forearms length between you.
fuck.
“Jungkook, listen, I can’t do this. Seriously.” You put your cup down, pushing through him, trying to get anywhere else but here.
“Babe, come on. I said I was sorry a million times, it was a mistake. You know I love you and I don’t want to see you walk away.” He put a hand on your wrist, trying to pull you closer. You closed your eyes and exhaled.
“I’m not doing this here.”
“We don’t have to baby, we can go upstairs.” He pleaded, the grip he had on your wrist not loosening. “Honestly babe, I miss you. I miss us. These girls don’t mean anything to me like you do. You’re the only one I want.”
“I can’t do this to myself Jungkook,” Frustration was clear in your voice. You’ve heard this so, so many times the words had no meaning anymore. “I’m not your baby.”
“But you are,” He pulled you into him, bumping into each other’s chests. He never stopped looking at you, his eyes piercing into you. You knew if you looked up at him that you would be under his spell, that you would end up doing whatever he wanted you to, but you’re self control was getting weaker and weaker.
“Jungkook… What do you want from me?” You felt like melting into a puddle on the floor. You were gonna cave and you knew it. As much as you hated yourself for it, you wanted him even more.
