"Vem är du?"
"Jag är Döden."
"Kommer du för att hämta mig?"
"Jag har redan länge gått vid din sida."
I just unlocked a new fantasy:
Imagine taking a bunch of sleeping meds or beta blockers and studied. Medically, I’m kept awake and alive, but barely. I’m awake so I know what’s going on in the moment, but I’m too tired to understand how I got here or who’s studying me.
My heart is beating extremely slowly. It’s the slowest I’ve heard it beat in my life, or anyone’s heart, to be honest. It’s maybe 30 or 20 bpm. If I weren’t being monitored, I know it would eventually slow to a stop. But it’s beating on, despite the drugs I’ve been given.
Eventually, I feel someone’s fingers on me. I’m too tired to open my eyes and see who, but they gently caress my chest and press on my heart. I feel it race slightly faster. They eventually make their way down further, pushing their fingers into me and slowly pumping them in and out. My heart rate immediately rises.
As they quicken their pace, my heart feels like it’s racing. It’s only beating at around 55 bpm, but my body is so tired and over exerting itself that it feels like I’m struggling to breathe. Soon, I feel something else get pushed inside of me. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but the excitement of it pushes my heart to 70 bpm. Again, it’s slow, but at this point my nervous system is on the brink of shutting down. My body feels cold and almost numb as it’s struggling to keep my heart pumping.
Suddenly, after my heart reaches 80 bpm and begins to skip, I feel nothing inside me. My heart is tripping over itself, but starts to come down after a few minutes. My shallow breathing returns to normal, and my heart rate returns to about 25 bpm. I fall asleep, feeling it slow even more, but I know I’m being kept alive as a test subject again.
Current activity of my enlarged, middle-aged heart.
Just chillin, what are y'all up to?
