Folic Acid Survivor
My Introduction (as of 28 June 2021)
My name is Patrick. I have a brain (mental) illness. In early 1996, the FDA interpreted congressional acts, with the agency leaning in favor of species improvement, rather than defense against accidental dangerous ingredients in trade by reaction plans, and then enacted regulatory measures mandatory upon all U.S. food manufacture, and importers to the U.S., to be enforceable and illegal if not compliant, by the 1st of January of 1998, requiring low-grade folic acid to be laced into all food products of wheat origins, and noodles, fast food, and breakfast cereals also. The goal was to force healthy eating on the populace. Folic acid was erroneously presumed to be interchangeable with folate. To my browsing results, nearly 30% of US citizens have MTHFR genes featuring poor liver filtration of folic acid byproducts released by human brain methylation processes. The byproducts build up in the brain causing ugly toxicity. For a third or so of us, maybe brain illness is in the bread, donuts, cereal, pasta, pastries, cookies, and cakes. I give credit to genetic testing having discovered nuances in my genotype allowing tailored selection of drugs (medications, for the politically correct speech).
