Hii, so, I've noticed from the adorable holly content that you seem to keep her harness on very often. If you don't mind me asking, why is that? Indulge a curious bean.
There are lots of reasons we’re keeping it on her, primary among them that it also functions as her collar/tags (she cannot handle anything around her neck, we think she was probably chained via her neck at some point.) We’re also still attempting to potty train her, and potty training requires us to leash her, and we’ve normally got about a 30-second window between her alerting us and getting her outside before she has an accident. So getting her in and out of her harness is an ordeal and has often resulted in a lot of unnecessary stress for her.
She also just... doesn’t like taking it off? We think it’s the first real thing she’s ever identified as being hers and if you take it off during the day when she’s awake she’ll just keep trying to get it back. She licks it and sniffs it and if we do take it off (say for bathtimes) she stashes it with her toys or the flannel shirt she stole off me lol.
She doesn’t sleep with it on, and we’ve learned that taking it off is kind of her signal to go to sleep at night. But otherwise? The harness is Hers and she wants it.
