really got to hand it to the wn writers for michael, too. he’s a dude who spent most his childhood in isolation with his loving but obsessive mother and was then thrown into a world where he was transformed into a weapon for reya. like, yeah, he should relate to ava, he should enjoy being close to her, because they are the inverse of each other. the exception is that ava went from a childhood without much love into an environment where she found people who loved her and trained her to become a warrior, while michael went from a childhood with love to a realm where he was trained exclusively to be a soldier—a holy bomb that couldn’t even choose when he detonated
that’s a great fucking allegory for the archangel michael! yeah, that is god’s avenger and god’s perfect soldier and instead of making him an unstoppable fighter, she just made sure he could keep taking punches until he needed to die.
