I wanted to map out my Nikolai design because I usually draw him with a bunch of piercings, and ended up just kinda making a ref sheet for him 🕺🏼 I made the whole DOA trio too, I love drawing Nikolai he's so fun.

I love drawing him with piercings, I think he just looks so fun with them. I'm very fond of his smiley, I just think it really suits him.

I drew him in a pose I often pull in photos lol

A Hurtful Absence

I saw your shadow in the glass,

A flicker from some distant past.

Your voice, a whisper in my head,

But ghosts don't answer once they're dead.

I hated how you made me feel,

Then missed the way you made it real.

Your touch, your laugh, that damn regret,

A song I wish I could forget.

I hold your coat, the fraying sleeve,

Still soaked in nights you wouldn’t leave.

But now it's just a weight I fold—

A love gone stiff, a hand gone cold.

You haunt me not in dreams, but days,

In quiet stares and sideways gaze.

And though you swore you'd fade away,

You stay in places you betrayed.

So if you ever meant to stay,

You shouldn’t have behaved that way.

But if you meant to go, then go—

Why do you linger, soft and slow?

I’d hate you less if I could grieve.

But absence lies. You never leave.

A Clinging Regret

You cursed my name like it was prayer,

But still, you stayed. You always care.

You bled for me with open hands—

I left you there with half the plans.

You drank your pain; I drank the sky.

You swore you’d live—I chose to die.

But somehow, still, we stayed aligned,

Two broken things too tightly twined.

I never asked for you to trust,

Just bite your tongue, do what you must.

And you obeyed, through storm and flame,

Still thinking love could play that game.

You said I wrecked the world we knew,

But I just left it up to you.

You begged for more—I gave you less.

Love dies where loyalty’s a guess.

I dream in silence, sharp and thin,

Where I can touch you, never win.

I wear the laugh, I wear the mask,

But grief is such a quiet task.

I wonder if you kept the chain,

The one you broke to ease the strain.

I wonder if you ever curse

My absence, or the way it hurts.

I never stayed—but never left.

I carved you out and called it theft.

You think I vanished, clean and cold—

But you’re the hand I never hold.

You hate me for the games I played.

I only ever made you stay.

And now your silence rings so loud—

A storm I stitched into a shroud.

So light the match—I’ll take the fall.

And though I never said it right:

Tachihara refs for fic writers

(Aka some of his belongings I’ve found in case you want to be able to visualize them while writing!)

1.) his motorbike

It’s green with a box and a camo pouch on the back

2.) his earbuds

They’re just basic but they’re bright red which I think is super cute :)

3.) casual wear

He’s been shown wearing just a letterman jacket with (cuffed) jeans and sneakers. And also that’s hoodie which looks cozy.

4.) he’s an iPad kid

He has an iPad plugged in on his desk that’s getting texts from the hd

5.) food taste

In addition to the notorious kiwi pastry, he’s been shown eating a few different desserts, including a parfait and a donut with his coffee. In the above picture, he’s eating instant noodles. His cafe card also shows Hirotsu giving him spaghetti, and Chuuya mentions that when they went to the pub, he was focused on just shoving food into his mouth lmao

6.) his guns

They’ve been portrayed as both black and grey. He’s also been shown to work on them himself, so I like to imagine he does his own cleaning and maintenance for them!

7.) raincoat

The raincoat on the mannequin might actually belong to him since (according to Harukawa’s comments on the possible vol 17 covers) he’s shown wearing it. It’s also supposed to be military green instead of blue, hence why they instantly assumed it was the 5th hunting dog.

Bonus:

I can’t include pics bc photo limit, but a lot of his mayoi cards have him with different colored earrings/necklaces/bracelets. So he definitely likes jewelry (the fact that most of it is metal probably helps)!

I was looking at the floor plan again so in case any one was curious this is where everyone’s desks are, as well as my best guess on some of the rooms.

Unfortunately I don’t speak Japanese and can’t read kanji (I had to cross reference the names with the wiki just to be sure) so if anyone wants to chime in and add some extra bits or corrections, please do so.
