Part 1 Part 2
“Hey there, darlin,” came the sly laugh from behind me.
“Hey, Smurf,” I responded, sniggering down at the copy machine as I made the 50000th copy of the day.
My coworker and partner-in-crime, Sarah, or “Smurf” as I affectionately named her, leaned against the Beast of a machine to my right, crossing her arms and feigning a nonchalant sigh of boredom.
It had been a long day. A ghastly week. In some ways, it mirrored the movie “Office Space” with the same monotonous routine, over and over and over again. The same managers droning on and on about better customer care and faster call times and working as a team, blah blah blah. Us worker bees of course just side-eyed each other with subtle rolling of the eyes, knowing we had to devote time to each individual customer to fix the problems, which meant longer call times. Which, of course, upper management just didn’t seem to get and completely ignored.
All in all, it was just another week, stuffed into another month, dragged into another year in this slightly stifling office job in the middle of the midwest, surrounded by cornfields and cringey political signs. Honestly, my only saving grace was the few tattoo gigs that popped up every now and again. Usually the loyal clientele that needed a touch up or new artwork done. I was a favorite at the only tat shop in the little town and was allowed to pick my hours. Nice, right?
Smurf huffed out another sigh, this one edging on annoyed, and I huffed one back at her.
“Whatchu want, Smurfs? I’m trying to get His Majesty’s sheets done before closing time.” His Majesty was none other than the Big Boss’ son, slave driver and all around mysoginistic jackass. He really enjoyed giving out the lesser jobs to his more feminine employees. Seemed to get a kick out of lording his authority over them. I swear, he was born in the wrong decade.
“I knooooow,” Smurf grinned, studying her acrylic nails as she swayed her curvy hips in place.
Taking my eyes from the Beast and rolling them in my bestie’s direction, I copied her stance and leaned against the wall behind me. “Smurfs, it's Friday,” I whined. “We’re almost outta here. Why you buggin’ me?”
Smurf finally let her inner demon glee shift her mouth into a huge grin and looked up at me. “So,” she spoke in a bored voice, betraying the utter joy evident all over her face, “You know The Concert That Shall Not Be Named?”
I stiffened. Of course. She HAD to mention the damned concert. Of all the gigs in all the world she had to bring me down with this shit.
I was an ARMY, through and through. Lover of all things BTS, a solid fan, albeit for only half a year, I had been taken into the massive group of fans by a random tiktok that played a piece of their animated music video, “We Are Bulletproof: Eternal”. The vocals, the harmonies, the lyrics, the beautiful artistry, and their incredible dedication to their fans all smacked me right in the face. And I knew it. I was hooked.
Of course, living in the midwest meant I had to show my love from afar. I lived too far away from any concert venue and was way too poor to travel to any shows in the neighboring states. But it was ok, I didn’t allow that to dampen my adoration. The boys were hardworking, dedicated, talented people and I absolutely admired their commitment to their craft and their followers. Honestly, I had never witnessed such love for the fans in any other musicians, never seen the power the fans hold acknowledged in such a precious way. Their humble hearts and minds continued to surprise and endear me with every new song and episode of their shows discovered.
However, the Impossible had happened. On their newest world tour, the PR team announced several new locations to their travel venue. And my heart had nearly lept out of my chest when I realized the boys were coming to the Big City merely an hour away from my little town.
Smurf had called me, nearly in tears, wailing that the tickets were already sold out and the scalpers were selling the hacked tickets for 4 times the original price. It was a Dark Day for us midwestern poor ARMYs. There were many mourning candles lit.
Hah, not really. But Smurf and I were happy for those who could attend, and continued to live our humdrum lives, secretly vibrating in excitement to have the boys in close proximity to us in just a few months.
And now, my traitor of a best smurf, decided to remind me of this damned concert. Right as I was about to declare freedom and make a run for the exit. I already had my weekend planned. Bubble bath, pineapple rum, stuffed crust pizza, the new Dr. Strange movie….
I glared daggers at my friend-turned-traitor. “You dare to mention said concert? On this, the day of my cat’s quinceañera??”
Smurf burst out laughing at the mention of our favorite cat meme. After a moment, she quickly returned to her former stance and glared back at me.
“Be prepared for your life to change, bitch.”
“What the fuck are you on about?” I laughed, clueless to her ramblings.
“I. Got. Tickets.”
My heart stopped.
“I’m sorry, I just hallucinated. What?”
Smurf huffed and dropped her hands, gripping my shoulders. “I. Got. Tickets. To see the babies. Our boys. The fine ass brigade. The glorious hip thrusters, the—”
“SMURF, YOU WHAT??”
My slightly unprofessional shriek in the middle of the large room filled with small cubicles and people readying for the weekend caused a sudden silence.
Ducking low, avoiding eye contact with anyone in the vicinity, I grabbed Smurf by the elbow and dragged her into the nearest conference room.
Tossing her dumb ass at the massive table, I slammed the door shut and stood staring at her, chest heaving.
“You, what… how??” My brain refused to believe anything that was said in the last 5 minutes.
Smurf placed her hands together in prayer form and giggled maniacally. “I got tickets. To the BTS concert. The one close by,” she gasped out.
My brain reeled, trying to imagine how this dirt poor office worker could manage to afford thousands of dollars worth of scalped tickets.
“Smurf, did you take your meds today?” I asked cautiously and slowly.
“Oh pfft,” she replied, waving her hand in the air as if to shove that very important inquiry aside. “You remember back in the day when they would give away tickets on the radio?”
“Oh. Yeah, sure. But… how the hell would they manage the phone lines for a BTS concert?” I pondered, imagining millions of phone calls bombarding a poor haggard DJ.
“See, that’s the thing. My uncle has connections, right? And it was a private giveaway. Apparently for certain… members of his club.”
I… did not even want to delve into that information. The infamous uncle of a supposedly… shifty background was also something we never really discussed. Even with some of the seedier clients that passed through my tattoo shop, we really tried to avoid dipping our toes in that area of the underworld. It was just acknowledged and then put aside.
“So… you called in.”
“I called in.”
“And won tickets.”
“Won front row tickets.”
I blanked, jaw hitting the floor. Front row… the ones that cost tens of thousands….. Holy fuck.
After my brain came back online, cue the AOL start up noises, I blinked several times and closed my mouth.
“....How many tickets did you get?” I asked in a very tiny voice, my brain starting to vibrate with the smallest of hope.
“Bitch, I got 2. Two mothafuckin tickets to see mothafuckin BTS!!!”
We both screamed and batted our hands at each other like absolute twelve year olds, shrieking and jumping around and losing our ever loving minds.
Suddenly, reality came crashing down. In the form of His Majesty himself.
“Uh, girls?” he shouted, head peeking in through the open doorway.
We immediately froze and turned, smoothing down our skirts and hair (damn dress codes).
“I believe it's a bit early for a sexy pajama party,” he sneered, laughing at his joke like the arrogant ass he is.
Smurf and I laughed weakly and nodded, apologizing for making such a ruckus.
“Now, get your butts back to finishing up the week, we aren’t paying you overtime. I’ve got a table at Delgado’s with my name on it.” He winked disgustingly and slipped his oily self back out into the beehive/workroom.
Smurf grimaced and gagged. “Ugh, woe be the woman who got snagged into that date.”
“Mmhmm,” I mindlessly agreed, my hindbrain going over every single detail of every single thing that we need to do to get ready for this experience of a lifetime.
Huffing and shaking off that creepy encounter, Smurf wrapped her arm around my shoulders and dragged me back out into the work room, shoving me at the copy machine.
“Alright, babes, finish up, we got planning to do, this shit is going down next weekend!!”
My heart skipped a beat and I gripped the Beast in shock. One week. Holy hell, the concert is in one week. I need a drink. I need a Xanax. I need a fucking horse tranquilizer.
All silly fangirling aside, my soul shivered in happiness, goosebumps spreading all down my skin. I would have the chance to watch these boys perform right in front of me. I will have the chance to witness their talent and voices and silly goofing and see the adoration in their eyes as they serenade their beloved ARMY.
I will have the absolute honor of witnessing the most acclaimed group of musicians perform on stage.

5 days was all it took. Just, five days. And everybody had already submitted at least one song to you to look over. Namjoon and Taehyung were the quickest, which isn’t all that surprising; Yoongi and Hoseok closely tied for second, fast at composition. Jimin was a fitting third, writing lyrics quickly yet purposefully. While Seokjin and Jungkook were both perfectionists and had taken them until the fifth day.
The biggest thing you noticed was the similarities between each of the members’ lyrics, themes, and overall compositional style. All of it was, to say the least, miserable. The only noticeable difference between all seven tracks was Life Goes On. Previous to that though, the boys had been in the studio recording Dynamite, a song you were a little hesitant about, but the boys had reassured you with big smiles and happy grins. To see them happy was all you really needed; all you cared about in honesty.
Thinking back on it, Jungkook was probably the most excited. He had been practicing his English and pronunciation in earnest once he found out the approval from HYBE had gone through. The maknae being in such a cheery mood brought up everyone’s spirits.
One afternoon he was jumping in glee as he declared over and over, “You know, ARMY will be delighted to hear this, right? Right?”
“That recording booth will be mine!” He vowed to the room, and you were slightly terrified at the determination in his bunny hopping eyes.
Jimin was laughing, nearly collapsing off his chair and bumping his head, as Jungkook continued to rattle on about recording. Everybody was more than happy to be in the studio, if meant not being stuck in the same, increasingly cramped spaces, about the dorm.
The miracle of laying down vocals was all that BTS could think about really, as you set up the studio alongside Yoongi. Plugging in the XLR cables, booting up your preferred DAW — pro tools, adjusting pop filters; anything to keep your hands busy and your mind at bay. Yoongi was just about finished with straightening a sound proof panel that had fallen off when Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook ambushed the poor man in the vocal booth, surprisingly startling him (a rare, and a miraculous feat in of itself). You just chuckled when you heard the muttering from Yoongi as he trudged into the main studio, him slowly closing the heavy door to prevent the annoying high-pitched sound from pressure that you and all BTS producers complain about dealing with.
Now, the space was set and ready for the obnoxious maknae-line to record their parts. This being the chorus sections. Pressing play, the three quickly laid down a demo, figuring out the timing and whatnot. Taehyung kept giggling in between, causing you and Yoongi to both sigh and shout to the receiver “restart”.
Recording was both fun and stressful because of the maknae-line.
The hyung-line was just as bad, mainly because Namjoon in between his takes would sing the chorus purposefully off key, which made Hoseok snort and Seokjin to laugh most of the time. Yoongi with a small smile on his face.
You throughout the entire process rolled your eyes, at this point your eyes were becoming squares, as you stared at the waveforms of each members’ various takes, cleaning them up and making it a usable demo as possible to send to HYBE for approval.
The real fun (or hell for you), was when they all came in to do the last part of the song, and, well, it was loud. These seven men were just about to tear you a new ear hole with how many decibels they were subjecting you too.
You had enough at one point and just, “Hey! Guys, I need you all to quiet down for this yeah?”
Success.
--
Starfish. Somebody in the group had come up with a brilliant new way of calming everyone down, which honestly you were out of the loop on who. Regardless, all of BTS and you lied down in a circle, recording finished and everybody exhausted, and you all spread out like a starfish.
Namjoon said something along the lines of “creating a synchronised dance”, or, similar to that.
You huffed amused with that statement, but went along with it.
People do weird things when they’re bored, you noted.
The question now becomes, what will they look forward to now?

Chapter 12
Word Count: 6.5K
4 1/2 months later
Taehyung and I were lying in his bed, enjoying some quiet time together. I was reading while he was playing a game on his phone. We’ve just gotten to his place after one of Taehyung’s sessions with his psychologist. He’s been going for four months now and I’ve been with him every step of the way. The visits were helping him to heal and it was amazing to see the changes in him. At first, I was there to show my support as a friend; I didn’t want my feelings for him to hinder any of his progress. I didn’t want to be a distraction for him. I tucked my love away in my heart. I’d done it before. His mental wellness was my priority and that was what helped me be the best support I could be. As time passed, though, and he made progress towards healing his mind, he no longer wanted to deny his true feelings for me.
When he finally acknowledged that he actually wanted to pursue a relationship with me, it was a big step for Taehyung. We’ve been officially a couple for six weeks now and we’ve taken things super slow. It took about four weeks after deciding to commit to each other for Taehyung to feel comfortable enough with hugging and holding hands with no gloves. He was so cute, touching my hand every chance he got. It was like he was trying to make up for lost time. I was proud of him as was his psychologist. He couldn’t have picked a better specialist than her.
“Y/N?” Taehyung interrupts my thoughts.
I put my book down, truthfully I’d been reading the same line over and over again for the last few minutes.
“What’s up?”
“Do you want to go to my next session?” he asks sitting up cross legged. Taken aback, I raise an eyebrow in question. “The doctor wants to speak with us both to help with the...uhm...the…”
A slight flush colors his cheeks and he looks so flustered in that moment.
“Why are you blushing?” I tease. “What does this doctor want to talk about?”
He covers his face with a hand and mumbles in a rush, “I told her I wanted to kiss you, but I was still afraid.”
My playful grin drops. Grabbing his wrist, I pull his hand away so I can look into his eyes.
“Really? You want to kiss me?” I ask, wanting to make sure I heard correctly. My heart speeds up with elation when he nods. “Then count me in.” He nods, but still looks shame-faced.
“Look, you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to. I don’t want you to feel pressured because you think it’s what I want,” I assure him.
“I know,” he murmurs, a faint smile on his lips. “I just…I’m scared my father was right. I don’t want to ruin your soul.”
Kneeling before him, I place my hands on his knees and look him straight in the eyes.
“You know all that is rubbish. How long have we been holding hands and nothing has happened to me?” He averts his eyes, swallowing nervously. Backing away some, I remind him, “I’m ok. And I’m ok because you don’t have any darkness within you, right? You know this.”
“I’m starting to, but still,” he shakes his head in doubt.
“Come on,” I coax him to lie down next to me. “Let’s not talk about it. We’ll leave that for our session with the doctor. Let’s cuddle for a bit.”
His smile widens as he scoots closer into my arms. His hand interlaces with one of mine, his thumb caressing my skin sending goosebumps across my arms. With my free hand I run my fingers soothingly through his hair, lulling him to sleep.

2 Months Later
It had been easier said than done. For eight weeks now I’ve gone with him to his therapy sessions. He wanted to kiss me so badly, but each time he musters up the courage, he breaks out into a sweat and starts shaking. It was breaking my heart to see him that way. He would beat himself up over it and the urge for him to cut would be so strong. I felt like this was my fault, that I was traumatizing him. That I was causing him to back slide. I wanted him to let it go for a while, but the therapist insisted that he needed to push through, that he needed to overcome all the toxic chatter in his mind. It hurt so much and I wasn’t sure how much more I could take.
“I’ll make us some tea,” I mumble, fighting back tears as I hear the front door click behind me.
We’d just left another session and had driven home without speaking. A thousand apologies hung at the tip of my tongue, but every time I tried to say anything, my throat would lock up with guilt.
I gasp as his hand wraps tightly around my wrist. He tugs, spinning me into him. Before I can comprehend what’s going on, his lips press against mine. My breath hitches as we shake in each other’s arms. Eyes wide my brain screams: Oh my…! It’s happening!!
And then a flood of tears breaks free, no amount of willpower able to keep them back any longer. His large hands cup my face, his thumbs trying to wipe away my tears as he kisses me so tenderly.
He pulls away, his eyes roaming my tear stained face as if making sure I was still ok. This is our first kiss. This is such a special moment for us, but mostly for Taehyung. It meant the therapy was working. It symbolized that the layers upon layers of harsh words and lies his father had conditioned Taehyung to believe were gradually peeling away. And I was so proud of him. I knew, not from experience, but just from having been beside him, I knew just how difficult this was all for him. For that reason, I couldn’t seem to stop the tears.
“It was better than I ever imagined it would be.”
The closed smile he graces me with forms parentheses on his face and I giggle through my tears at how cute he looks right now.
“Really?” I sniffle. “Even with all the snot and tears?”
He laughs drawing me into a hug.
“Even with all the snot and tears,” he admits with a soft chuckle.
“I’m so proud of you,” I sigh happily as I hug him tightly to me.
“Thanks.”

1 ½ Months later
Eight months have now passed since the accident. Eight months since Taehyung began seeing his psychologist. The visits were helping him to heal and it was amazing to see the changes in him. His smiles reach his eyes now. His laugh is more care free. Jungkook and I are so proud of him. We praise his accomplishments and reassure him when he needs it.
Though Tae and I have been together 5 months now, there is just one step we’ve yet to take. Because it took so long for him to hold my hand and even longer for him to feel comfortable with kissing, for those reasons, I never pressure him to do anything more. If he brings it up, feeling disappointed that he hasn’t been able to make love to me, I just remind him that I am in no hurry and just want him to feel comfortable with whatever level of intimacy we share.
Don’t get me wrong, it is not always easy for me. Having such a deliciously attractive man at my side...it is difficult to keep my hands off of him. Those kisses we share are sweet, tender, slow movements of our lips that I want so many times to deepen. Most of the time I’m able to keep my lust in check, but once, I’d let my sexual frustration cloud my judgement when we were kissing. He’d been hugging me to him as his full, soft lips pressed against mine. This was not the first time that I’d felt his erection push against my belly, but this time a fire had been ignited within me. Before I could stop myself I’d shoved my tongue into his mouth as my hand had reached down to grab him and he’d pushed me away in a frantic panic. It took him a week to relax around me enough to want to cuddle and kiss again.
I’d felt so bad for making him go through that, so I never tried again, promising to let him make the first move whenever he was ready.
And he did try.
Sitting at the dining table waiting for Taehyung to finish with dinner, I think about his most recent attempt.
One day that I’d spent the night with him, not but three weeks ago, he’d woken up in the middle of the night and I’d felt his hand on my waist. I figured he just wanted to snuggle up to me like usual, but when he’d pulled me towards him and his lips had slashed hungrily across mine, I knew that this time, he wanted more. I was surprised and I did all I could to reign in my elation, wanting to take this slow in order to make this a pleasant experience for him. His large, warm hands caressing my skin felt so wonderful and I was more than ready to take the next step. As our breathing grew heavier and his touches more confident, I’d hesitantly pressed my palm along his swollen member over his boxers and he’d gone stock still. He’d pulled his lips from mine, his eyes closed as if he didn’t want me to see into them, and his body began to tremble noticeably.
Removing my hand from him, I told him, “We don’t have to have sex if you don’t want to.” Taehyung had hung his head as if defeated. Trying to reassure him, I’d added softly as I brought his forehead against mine, “I’m ok with how things are right now. Don’t rush.”
“I’m sorry,” Taehyung had whispered. “Believe me, I want to… I really, really want to, but all I can think of is how I’m a poison and I’d be putting that into you and I just…”
His voice trailed off as he sighed heavily and rolled out of bed, slipping on a hoodie, he’d left me alone in the room. I heard the front door open and gave him a few minutes alone before sliding on a robe and joining him outside. It had been a cool moonless night giving the stars a chance to make an appearance. The multitude of stars twinkled above us as I’d hugged him from behind, pressing my cheek onto his back while he’d rested one of his hands over mine.
“You are not poison,” I murmured against his back and Taehyung had scoffed. I wondered if, again, I’d been too needy and caused him to backpedal. “You aren’t.”
A long while passed before he turned around to hug me to him.
“Taehyung,” I whispered as I hugged him tightly. “You deserve to be loved.”
He froze in my arms, but I didn’t relent. He needs the reassurance, the constant reminder that everything his father said to him, those harsh, cruel words that had been told to him since he was a little boy, was not true. He was worthy of being loved. He was not tainted or cursed. He was not weak. And he certainly was not stupid.
“You have a heart of gold,” I continued when he didn’t push me away. I stroked his hair as I whispered from behind him. “You are such a strong person. You are the strongest person I know, actually. And you are unselfish.” Pulling away, he kept his head down and to the side, his hair blocking my view of his eyes. The muscle of his jaw clenched and unclenched and his chest was heaving as he fought to contain his emotions.
“Don’t you see? You have been through so much and you did not give in and become your father,” I reminded him. “You are a good, good man.” I brought my hand to his chin and tugged on it gently. He allowed his face to be moved and his eyes slowly met mine. The pain and struggle in them tugged at my heart, but the unshed tears that sparkled in them is what brought a knot to my throat. I swallowed hard wanting to be strong for him. “It won’t be easy, but you have to let it all go. None of this was your fault.”
His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down and I placed my hand over his heart. It’s beating so hard, it threatened to burst free of his chest. Taehyung’s eyes squeezed shut as he pressed his lips together. A tear trickled down his cheek and my eyes widened in surprise. Before I could say anything, he leaned forward and wrapped me in his long arms, his body completely encompassing me as he buried his face into my neck. My heart tore open as I felt his body tremble. His tears wet my neck as he wept quietly. I just held him, my hands gliding up and down his back offering him comfort. I didn’t know if he’d ever cried before. He certainly never had in front of me.
“It’s late,” he’d said after wiping his tears away and taking a deep breath. “Let’s go back to bed.”
And we’d done just that; crawled back into bed. Taehyung had curled his long frame around me as we spooned.
With my head tucked in under his chin he’d said in a very low voice, “I have to tell you something.”
I’d hugged his arms to me as I laced my fingers through his. “Hmmm?”
I’d held my breath nervously as I waited for whatever he had to say. It took him a minute, but he finally replied.
“I….I’ve never been with anyone.”
“Never been where?” I’d asked, oblivious of what he meant.
“Not where,” he’d corrected me. “With. I’ve never had sex with anyone before.”
I was shocked. Someone as breathtakingly gorgeous as him could not have had difficulty finding a woman to hook up with. At work alone, the women there practically threw themselves at him.
“Really?”
I tried to keep my voice neutral. Could he seriously still be a virgin? I’d thought to myself.
“Yes,” he sighed. “I believed my dad when he said I was polluted with filth and that I carried a curse that would make people die or leave me. He always told me that if I had sex I would transfer that to my lover. I just didn’t want anyone else to suffer the way I was, so I never kissed anyone and I tried not to hug anyone. I never had a girlfriend…”
“I’m so sorry he did that to you,” I’d whispered, tears burning my eyes. “But you know what he told you is not true.”
Sighing heavily, he’d said, “I do, but knowing it and believing it are two different things. The fear is still there telling me that there is a chance that he could have been right and that’s all I can think of when I tell myself I want to be with you.”
“Don’t force it,” I said. “Give yourself time to get through it. You don’t have to worry, I’m not going anywhere.”
“OK,” he’d replied hugging me tighter to him.
“Did you hear what I said?” Taehyung’s voice interrupts my thoughts.
“Uhm.” I shake my head no and give him a sheepish grin, a blush burning my cheeks.
“I was asking if we were going to give out candy on Halloween? For a remote area, we actually get a lot of trick or treaters walking by that night because there’s a farmer up the road that converts his sunflower field into a scare maze,” he repeats. “I’ve never gotten to do that.”
“Pass out candy or go to the maze?”
“Neither, but I meant pass out candy,” he replies as he reaches for a bowl up high in the cupboard.
“Oh, yea. Sure,” I reply. “I think that will be fun. If you want, I can buy a few bags of candy next week.”
“Yes, thanks,” he smiles at me before returning to what he was doing. “I’m almost done, by the way.”
“Ok.”
He’d been acting very strangely today. I couldn’t quite put my finger on exactly what was different, but he just seemed a little bit…off. He brought me a bouquet of white roses, they were as large as my palm! He’d never given me flowers before. When I asked him why he’d given them to me, he got flustered and then shrugged saying ‘Because’. He kept asking random questions about me, things that he already knew, but it was as if he was confirming the information he had on me. I kept catching him chewing his lips or nails furiously like he was anxious.
Right now he was making spaghetti because he knew it was my favorite. I usually made that myself when I had a craving for something other than Korean or if we weren’t going out to eat. The fact that he was cooking was not strange in of itself, just how he would be super quiet one moment and then talking a mile a minute another about random things. And today, he refused any help from me what so ever when usually we cooked together.
When he was finally finished, he brought the spaghetti to the table in a the pasta bowl he’d been getting earlier. Then he laid out the garlic bread on one side of the bowl and a Caesar salad on the other. I smile up at him as he pours me a glass of sweet red wine, choosing coke for himself.
“So fancy today, TaeTae. Everything looks and smells so delicious,” I compliment him as he sits down across from me.
“Thanks,” he murmurs shyly.
Urging me to serve myself first, I add salad and pasta to my plate and then grab a slice of the bread. He waits for me to take a bite before he fixes a plate for himself.
“Mmmm,” I moan appreciatively. “This really is so good.”
“I’m glad you like it.”
His boxy smile makes an appearance and my heart jolts in my chest. How long have I known him and I still am so affected by his smiles? We chat sporadically as we eat. And when we’re done, it’s a bit of a struggle, but I finally convince him to let me wash the dishes and clean up.
“If you insist,” he rolls his eyes in feigned annoyance before dropping a quick kiss on my lips. “I’m going to take a shower.”
I quickly get the kitchen in order. By the time I’m done, Taehyung is stepping into his room, his hair darkened by the moisture that clung to it. He was chewing his lip fretfully.
“You ok?” I finally ask.
“Yeah, why?” He licks his lips nervously as he looks at me, his face blank.
I sigh heavily. “Nothing. Forget it. Want to watch a movie after I take a shower?” I ask while gathering my long t-shirt style pajama and undies.
He nods his agreement and I grab a towel and head to the bathroom. Letting the water run over me, the thought that something is definitely up tugs at my mind. Why is he being so antsy? Deciding not to push him on IT, I quickly dry up and get dressed. Stepping into the room, I see he has Netflix up on his TV.
“Want me to put on a scary movie?”
I narrow my eyes on him. “Don’t you hate horror movies?”
“But you like them, so…”
He pulls the comforter back beckoning me to slide in beside him. I make myself comfortable and we choose a film. Snuggling up into him, he holds me against his side. I try my best to hide my smiles when he jumps because I screamed. I pretend I don’t notice how his grip on my arm tightens when I flinch. But when he gasps out of fright, I can’t stifle my laughter.
“I really hate horror movies,” he mumbles.
“It was sweet of you to want to watch one with me, though,” I grin up at him.
I scooch up to plant a kiss on his lips, but as I start to pull away I feel his hand slip up the nape of my neck to keep me in place. Though it was not out of the ordinary for him to want to prolong a kiss, this seemed different to me and I felt my heart begin to pound in anticipation. His torso presses against mine gently coaxing me to lie back. I oblige with no resistance, letting him take control.
As Taehyung deepens the kiss, his tongue slipping past my lips, it’s a struggle to hide my surprise when I feel his hand slide up my thigh and under my night dress. Could this be it? Is this why he was acting so strangely all day? Well, as hard as it would be, I would do all I could to not to frighten him...just in case.
He bites my bottom lip, drawing me out of my thoughts and I let out a hiss. Immediately pulling away, his eyes search my face, worry evident in those chocolatey pools.
“Did I hurt you?”
“No, no,” I chuckle. “That was actually really hot.”
His eyes darken as he tries to fight past the haze of desire.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, it felt really good,” I assure him.
Satisfied that I wasn’t lying, he brings his mouth back to mine. I sigh contentedly as his lips meld with mine momentarily before blazing a wet trail of kisses to my neck. He latches onto the sensitive skin, sucking just as he palms my breast. My body arches beneath him as moisture begins to gather between my legs. It was growing increasingly difficult to leave my hands at either side of my head. I wanted so badly to grab him and see what he felt like in my hand.
“Taehyung,” I moan as he pinches my nipple.
“You feel so soft,” he murmurs against my neck as his fingertips float feather-light down my skin.
His husky voice has me squirming beneath him. His hesitant touches fuel the fire within me and I fist my hands under my pillow to keep them from reaching out to him.
“I want to see you,” he says sitting up.
“Ok,” I say, though I can barely hear my own voice over the crescendo of my thrumming heartbeat in my ears.
I take his offered hand, sitting up on my knees. He rests his hands on his thighs as he waits anxiously for me to undress. Crossing my arms, I slowly begin to raise the pajama dress, loving the hungry look in his dark eyes as they follow the hem of the material. I hear him murmur appreciatively when I finally have it over my head. Before it even touches the ground, Tae has crawled closer, a thigh between mine. He grabs one of my breasts in his hand, bringing his mouth down to swirl his tongue around the hardened nub.
My lips part as I watch him. He’d never done this before. Never taken it farther than a kiss and some touching over my clothes. I’m mesmerized watching him slide his lips back and forth over my nipple, teasing me and when he takes it into his mouth and sucks, my head falls back, eyes rolling into my head at how exquisite it feels. No longer able to resist, my hands slip into his hair to tug him tighter against my breast. Though his mouth continues to lick and suck at my pebbled peak, his hands release me to trail down my sides causing goosebumps to sprinkle across my skin. He palms my ass, squeezing hard and releasing as he pulls his lips away.
“You’re wearing a thong to bed?” he questions huskily, his breath warm as the words leave his lips.
“What? It’s comfy,” I shrug, a bit breathless.
He growls as he squeezes me possessively and pulls me tight against him. He’s still clothed and I’m trying to keep myself under control, the need to undress him starting to drive me insane. I’m afraid to be too eager, to scare him, but for someone with no experience he already has me on fire from head to toe. I can feel just how wet my thong is getting and it’s only been a few minutes.
“Lie down,” he orders, his voice low. “I want to try something I saw.”
I narrow my eyes at him suspiciously when a pink hue begins to dust his cheeks. Taehyung looks embarrassed, but I lie back on the pillows a questioning look in my eyes.
“Is this ok?” I ask.
“Oh yes,” he bites down on his bottom lip and I shiver at the animalistic look in his eyes.
Holy shit, what was he about to do? The expression on his face made me feel like he was about to pounce and gobble me up. I let out a loud gasp when he cups my sex and grasps it firmly.
“Fuck,” I hiss when the heel of his hand begins to rub my mound.
My nerves, not having had any stimulation in quite some time, sizzle with pleasure at the simple gesture. My hips involuntarily push up and then begin to undulate, mimicking his speed. All the while he watches me. His eyes raking over my face, to assure himself I was ok or because he liked what he saw, I’m unsure, but his eyes on me while he did that was a huge turn on.
“I-I want to touch you,” he quips timidly.
“You are,” I smile up at him through hooded lids.
“No, I mean, like, without this in the way.”
I inhale sharply when he snaps the waistband of my thong. In this moment he could ask me for anything in the world and I would gladly and willingly give it to him.
“Go for it,” I whisper, swallowing hard.
His hands glide over my hips, his fingers curling over the elastic of my thong. He gently tugs my underwear down and off of my legs. I chew my bottom lip, feeling so vulnerable beneath his gaze as he tosses the cloth over the side of the bed.
The movie had been over a while ago, Taehyung’s phone having disconnected on its own, causing the tv to return to its home screen. The slideshow that automatically played sent the room into different hues depending on the picture displayed. One moment Tae’s face was clearly visible to me, then a few seconds would pass and I’d barely be able to see his expression as the lighting in the room would dim.
Tae lies down beside me, sliding his body against mine. He’s still fully clothed and I want to say something, to ask if he wouldn’t be more comfortable if he undress, but I bite my tongue not wanting to ruin the moment. He’ll remove them when he’s ready.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispers into my ear and I smile.
His hand drifts down my ribs, his hesitant touches making my smile widen. When he reaches my hip bone and his finger traces a slow path towards my throbbing center, I can’t help but hold my breath in anticipation. He nips at my ear just as one of his fingers traces the line of my slit and I gasp. As the same finger slips between my wet fold, he shudders beside me, groaning into my ear.
“Tae,” I moan as he finds my bundle of nerves and begins to rub languid circles on and around it.
“You are so wet!” he murmurs before taking my earlobe into his mouth and sucking.
“Mhmm,” I groan, my hips beginning to push up to add more pressure, the tension inside me coiling tighter and tighter.
I can feel Taehyung’s erection, rock hard against my leg, his own hips rolling into my thigh in search of friction to relieve the stiffness. Our breathing is getting heavier and heavier and my eyes shut tight as I feel myself so close. I’m so close to reaching my release, when he stops and sits up. My eyes fly open in a hazy confusion, but I see Taehyung swiftly pulling his shirt over his head, throwing it to the side and then yanking his sweatpants down, boxers and all.
My eyes latch onto his enlarged member and my lips part. Suddenly, I can’t seem to get enough air. Forcing my gaze away, they trail up to his pale torso. He was lean, almost too skinny. He didn’t have any defined abdominal muscles, but he barely had any fat. His abdomen was smooth and flat, his pecs lightly outlined. He was so beautiful and I wanted to touch him so bad.
I finally lock in on his eyes, pleading. Begging for him to not stop this and to let me touch him. Even though I can see he’s shaking, that he’s anxious and worried and nervous as hell, my selfishness is coming forth, my arousal clouding my thinking. I want him so badly.
Taehyung let’s out a breath as if he were trying to muster up his courage. Leaning forward, his fingers wrap around my wrist and he tugs me gently, bringing my hand to his chest…right over his heart. He closes his eyes and I don’t dare move as I feel his heart thumping wildly beneath my palm. A second or two pass and then he slowly drags my hand down, his skin burning beneath my touch. His abdominal muscles ripple as my fingers graze over them. He releases my wrist, fisting his hands at his sides. I prop myself up on one elbow as his eyes slip open. I arch a questioning brow at him, and he nods once, swallowing hard.
With my hand now free, my fingers flutter down over his skin towards his cock as if it were a magnet. I pause a moment, my hand hovering over the pink member and watch him carefully. He is holding his breath, watching, waiting to see what I will do. I gradually wrap my fingers around him and he lets out a shaky hiss of air. Sliding my fisted hand around him, I take on a leisurely pace, wanting him to get accustomed to the sensation. When my thumb slides across the slit of his head, he groans loudly, his head falling back as the pleasure rushed through him. His hand shoots down a moment later, startling me.
“I-I…” he swallows hard, his tongue darting out to wet his lips. “I need to be inside you.”
My eyes widen. This was actually going to happen!
I let go of him and he shifts to kneel between me. His palms push my legs open wider and he leans forward, one hand holding him up beside my shoulder the other grasping himself, leading his dick to my awaiting entrance. His head presses against my forehead, his eyes closed tightly, and I can feel him trembling. He’s hesitating, and I can feel him fighting the fear within him.
“It’s ok,” I cup his cheek tenderly, tilting my head to peck at his lips. “Take your time. We can stop if you want to. Don’t feel pressured,” I whisper.
His eyes squeeze tighter and his voice crack as he admits, “I’m so fucking scared right now. I don’t want to hurt you.”
I stroke his cheek, tucking a lock of hair behind his ear. The angle that he’s in has it falling back over his forehead.
“Open your eyes and look at me,” I urge. He does so, slowly and lifts his face a little to see me better. “You are not going to hurt me. We hold hands and nothing happens to me. We kiss. Nothing has happened to me. Us making love is not going to cause anything bad to happen to me. With that said, if you want to stop and try another day, we can. I’m not going to be upset with you.”
He nods his understanding.
“I don’t want to stop, though,” he gives me a shy smile.
“Then don’t,” I reply simply.
We remain that way for a few more seconds. Once his mind is made up, he brings his lips to mine, kissing me deeply and I know that the last thing that had been holding him back had finally been conquered. He was ready.
As his lips move against mine, pliant and soft, he slides his member up and down my slit and in between my folds. He shivers as I moan, my nails raking up and down his back. When the head of him finds my entrance and he pushes in agonizingly slow, we both moan simultaneously. He’s thick and throbbing and I feel him stretch my sensitive walls as he slides all the way in. I clamp around him and he lets out a curse.
“Fuck, Y/N,” he groans. “I don’t think I’m going to last very long.”
I giggle and then gasp when he rolls his hips into me. His movements are unhurried and torturous as he grinds into me, his dick gliding in and out of me in lazy strokes. I can feel the coil of pleasure tightening again with every stroke. My hands slip into his hair bringing his mouth back down to mine. His tongue pushes past my lips and teeth matching the rhythm of our hips. I suck on his tongue and he groans loudly.
Pulling away, he sits up hooking my legs over the crooks of his arms as he begins to quicken his thrusts. Without his mouth to swallow up my moans, my mewls become louder and louder as I feel my release getting ever closer.
“Don’t stop, Tae!” I plead. “I’m so close!”
I watch his face, the way his eyes have darken, his lids heavy as he bites down on his lower lip. Beadlets of sweat have formed across his forehead and temples with the exertion. He’s so beautiful as he concentrates on the pleasure he’s feeling, his breathing heavy. Just watching him, his hips rolling, grinding and then pumping into me has my walls tightening ever more, causing him to groan above me. They were the most delicious sounds I’d ever heard and soon my back was arching as I climaxed around him. I scream his name, along with incoherent words, as he speeds up his pace, trying to chase his own high.
“Y/N,” he grunted as his thrusts become shorter and sloppy. “Oh, shit. Oh fuck!!”
I feel it. The moment he has reached his release. His cock twitches, as his hands clamp down hard on my hips, pressing me tighter into him as he pump in short thrusts into me. His cum shoots in hot spurts into me, filling me up.
“You feel so good,” I coo as I clamp harder around him and roll my own hips into him.
“Damn, I can’t…Shit…,” he grunts, his head falling back the pleasure too much. “I can’t stop cumming! Fuck!”
I wrap my fingers around his wrist to give myself a better grip to grind against him. My walls clamp tightly around him, milking him and helping him ride out his orgasm. I can still feel him throbbing inside me and he is shaking so hard from his release.
“You’re so hot right now,” I moan and he finally stills as he brings his head back up.
His pupils are dilated, blown out from the pleasure. His face has a rosy tint to it.
“Stop,” he chokes out, his palm pressing gently on my abdomen and I chuckle at his desperation. I roll my hips up again and he shudders, his eyes rolling back.
“God, Y/N, please stop. I can’t take it. You feel way to good.”
I laugh, shakily, still trying to catch my own breath. He pulls out and I let out a soft whine at the loss of his warmth. Collapsing beside me, he drapes an arm across my stomach as his chests heaves beside me with every breath. He’d cum so hard he had filled me up to the brim. I can feel his release starting to drip out and I reluctantly get out of bed to head to the bathroom. I clean myself up and then bring a wet hand towel to the room. Taehyung’s breathing has settle down some and he has his eyes closed, an arm thrown over them. Bringing the warm towel to his crotch, I swipe across his softening member, causing him to jump up.
“Don’t worry, I’m not attacking you,” I laugh. “Just cleaning you up.”
He falls back against the pillows, satiated, his eyes are heavy will drowsiness. Once done, I rinse out the hand towel in the bathroom and drape it on his hamper. Crawling into bed, he pulls me against, the length of his body pressed against my back. He brushes my hair aside to nuzzle into my neck.
“Are you ok,” his deep voice rumbles against my ear and I smile widely.
“Yeah,” I answer back.
“You don’t feel anything you know…strange and dark?”
I roll over in his arms so I’m facing him.
Kissing him softly, I assure him, “The only thing I feel right now is pride.” His brow furrows at me. “You conquered your fear,” I state simply. “You were able to do the one thing you were so afraid of. As you can see, nothing bad happened. Your father doesn’t have a hold over you anymore.”
His smile grows with every word I say and in this moment I feel happier than I ever have before.
“You’re right,” he grins. “Thank you for standing by me, cheering me on, giving me support. I love you so much.”
My eyes glitter with happy tears.
“I love you, too.”
Taehyung leans his face towards mine, capturing my lips in a deep and passionate kiss. I feel his hand reach around to palm one of my ass cheeks, pressing my hips towards his. I cock an eyebrow when I feel him growing hard against my core already.
“Uhm…can we…you know,” he stammers becoming shy all over again. “Can we do that again?”
I giggle as he peppers kisses across my cheek and down to my neck.
“Any time you want,” I giggle as he rolls me onto my back.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read my work! This is it. The final chapter. This was really difficult to write emotionally and there were many times I had to step away because it hurt so much to write some of the parts. I hope you like it and and hope you enjoyed the series.
A/N: Yooo, just wanted to get this little idea down somewhere. It’s not much, just some interactions with the reader and the boys, featuring Suga.
“See? Watch!” You whisper to the boys.
“No, Y/N!” Jimin was waving his arms frantically at you and loudly whispering, “He’ll be mad!” Namjoon was nearby gesturing wildly for you to come back over to them. Jungkook just stood there, eyes wide. Taehyung covered his eyes, but still peeked through his hand to watch. Hobi looked extremely scared. Jin just slowly shook his head at you.
You roll your eyes and smile at their overdramatic reactions, choosing to continue with your demonstration and taking another step toward the sleeping boy. Namjoon spoke this time whispering, “Y/N, we’re serious. He’ll be mad with you for days if you wake him up.” You shake your head this time at them.
“You guys aren’t getting it. He’ll let me, watch.”
They just sighed in defeat, giving up now as they just watched you walk to your ‘sweet’ death. You could still hear them whispering back and forth with each other things like, “She’s gonna get it” and “God bless her soul”. You laughed to yourself finally standing in front of none other than Min-Yoongi. You smiled at his sleeping face, remembering how the guys described it as a ‘trap’.
You slowly put your knee onto the couch, feeling it sink into the soft furniture as you added your other knee and gently laid down next to Yoongi. You were facing him, smiling at the small twitch from his mouth as he moved a bit in his sleep. You glanced over at the boys again, they were all holding their breath and biting their nails. You shift a bit on the couch to hopefully wake Yoongi. He scrunches up his eyebrows a bit, opening one eye slightly. When he sees that it’s you, he grumbles but doesn’t complain and closes his open eye. At this reaction you whisper over to the now very shocked boys hiding behind the door frame, “See? He’s not so scary.” Yoongi smiled at this and then did something even more surprising to the already speechless boys. He ruffled your hair and pulled you closer, wrapping an arm around your waist. The boys creeped closer to take a better look at this rare scene. “Er are you guys… dating now or something?” Namjoon scratched his head. You blushed a bit, responding quickly, “What, no-!“
Yoongi cut you off before you could fully deny it simply saying, “If we were i’d never tell you.” His grip on your waist grew tighter, silently telling you to go along with the joke. Their eyes grew wider somehow but Yoongi’s was still closed, acting uninterested. You decided to go along with his joke to amuse him. “Y/n? So are you?” Taehyung uncovered his eyes by now, looking directly down at you now. You smirked and closed your eyes. “Hmm, like he said. If we were, i’d never tell you.”
They all just stood there. Namjoon and Jin could tell you were joking by now but the rest were all going over in their heads how you and Yoongi normally acted around each other as they all walked out of the room to discuss it. They whispered to each other, “Do you think they’re an item?!” Namjoon rolled his eyes. “No come on, it’s obviously a joke guys!” You could hear their whispers turn into much louder bickering as they walked farther away. You and Yoongi were left alone and you looked up to see him smiling down at you. “What idiots.” You lightly laughed at his remark and nodded your head, moving closer to him and falling asleep.

You were, suffice to say, confused with what was happening before you. Yoongi was arguing with Namjoon; in the loudest voice he could muster. Now, Yoongi rarely shows his anger, always a genuine person in his reactions, if he was annoyed, he showed it, if he was bored, it was present. Happiness would radiate. Anger and frustration would then be booming. Today, was not a good day. After the announcement by HYBE that the tour was to be postponed, and the concept of cancelled begun to weave through the boys’ head. Their performances they had been practicing was starting to look like it was all for nothing, really dug into all.
Namjoon commented that it wasn’t over yet, but Yoongi’s bitterness towards everything got the best of him. Where he tried to hold it in, but when Namjoon remarked, “Just wait,” he exploded.
Beforehand, you questioned if any of the boys would become irritated at the news, when Bang PD had messaged you privately, 10 minutes before the announcement. He knew, in a way, that someone would react in this way. So you also texted Namjoon to break the news with ease, briefing him with the situation.
But, when it came to ARMY, the boys were distraught, to say the least. Yoongi was one of the saddest. Frankly you yourself was tearing up when you read it earlier. All of the boys were crying, hiccupping and piling on top of each other for comfort.
Bated breath and shaky hands, Jimin tore Namjoon and Yoongi a-part. If Namjoon couldn’t think well, he could at least.
“STOP!” He screamed, “What would yelling at each other do?”
Yoongi fell to the ground in a heap. Wrapping his arms around his legs and curling in himself. Quivering as he sobbed. Your world cracked seeing him cry this way. Namjoon was no better, who was on the verge of breaking too.
“Will it get better?” A teary Jungkook asked.
“Possibly,” Seokjin replied, red in the ears and wiping his tears away.
Hoseok, oh the usually sunshine man, was similar to Yoongi. But was in the foetal position, turning away from the rest of the group. Hiccupping into his elbows.
Nobody wanted to practice today.
And for the first time in years, the BTS dorm was completely quiet. Save for the bump of chairs, the tripping on carpet (an exclaim of fucks in the air, which most had fallen getting up off the floor), and the sad slams of doors. Nothing at all.
You sat in the living room, and mindlessly scrolled through your phone. Glassy, like looking through a foggy window, and you could barely make out the words you were reading. Every blink rolled tears down your cheeks. Wet with the promise of more to come.
This, was the normal now.
--
BTS had finally gathered courage to enter the living room, fixing the large space for practice, after about a week and a bit. Hoseok looked like he hadn’t slept in days, Jimin was a little sensitive, a hangover you suspected, Taehyung and Namjoon were tied in dirty stains on their shirts, Seokjin and Yoongi looked hopped up on caffeine, and Jungkook just, looked lifeless.
You sighed, as they started playing ON, stretching as they listened. Remembering. No one spoke to each other as they relaxed their muscles. In sync though. You sighed once more, and Hoseok turned his head around, giving a gentle yet tight smile, you returned it.
They got into position a little while after, syncing up their title track ON with a metronome, out of practice. While COVID had sucked them of motivation, they still kept up the movements. Fluid, sharp, rolling, relaxed, sweat beading down temples, and the voices of seven strained men.
All of them released pent up energy in this mock performance, treating it as such, their muscles ached, and you sat in one corner of the room, mesmerised. Once it was over, you rushed to the kitchen for the cooled drink bottles, as well as music, you could do your best to support them. So, that’s what you did. Encouraging them as you handed over their labelled drinks, “proud of you”, was your most used phrase these days.
Each thanked you, but wordlessly drank. Everyone was standing around blankly staring at each other. Seokjin had the bright idea to play Zero O’clock, and, well, everyone begun to cry again.
It was relentless afterwards, their dancing got steadily more and more intense. The burn of their muscles, the burn of their anger, their sadness, seeping, rushing into their throbbing bodies.
They ending once all songs were exhausted from MOTS: 7. Every single one done, thoroughly. The practice began in the morning. It was now well into the evening.
Without a word, the boys cleaned up, and went to the showers.

Jimin and Seokjin were still pissed at each other even after well into the afternoon. Once, Jimin was reaching for a glass to fill it up for water before heading into the living room, but he was slightly shorter than his arm would let him reach. Some issues about his height didn’t bother Jimin, although on occasion when it interferes with drinking, he gets angry.
“Jin-hyung!” With the call of Seokjin, the taller, broader man rushes into the kitchen but sours when he spots Jimin on the tips of his toes for a glass. Seokjin crosses his arms.
“I’m not getting that for you,” he began with a huff. Petty.
Jimin grumbles and instead started to climb the benchtop. Alarmed, Seokjin worryingly tried to couch him down, “Jimin, Jimin! Don’t do that! Hey! Climb down from there!” He mumbled under his breath, “You’re going to give me grey hairs before I’m thirty,” before yelling, “Fine I’ll get the glass but please get down before you hurt yourself.”
Jimin happily hopped off the benchtop like he won at a video game, silently watching his victory as Seokjin easily got a glass from the high shelf and handed it to him to fill with water.
The older man was pouting in annoyance, but still, it was better than a screaming match.
The two dispersed into their separate directions, Jimin going to the living room, and Seokjin headed back towards his room.
--
The jenga tower fell. And all eight of you shouted differently in united displeasure at the thought of either losing or winning; depending on who lost the last couple games, also meant cleaning the damn thing up. Jungkook and his competitive nature was loving it when you had suggested a marathon of jenga matches, and the penalty of cleaning up and doing the dishes for an entire week. So, everyone had gotten wrapped up in the matches. Seokjin had managed to snag two, Yoongi four, Hoseok and Namjoon were tied with one, Taehyung with eight, Jimin with six, Jungkook had somehow gotten nine, and you were with three. With thirty-four games all of you were tired, some bordering on exhaustion.
“Why did we do this?” Taehyung asked from the floor, his limbs out like a starfish.
Jimin simply responded, “Boredom.”
Seokjin and Namjoon shared a look of irritation.
Everyone was bored out of their minds.
And no one could figure out what to do with themselves.
All at once, the entire group sighed, and Hoseok and Namjoon rolled their eyes jokingly as Jungkook playfully mentioned the penalty and got to work cleaning up the game for the final time.
“Well one thing’s for sure, I got hell of a lot of ideas for songs,” Hoseok remarked, the clicking of the jenga pieces in tow.
Yoongi chimed in with a hum of agreement.
“Rock-paper-scissors for the studio, boys?” You suggested.
Hoseok, Namjoon, Yoongi, and Jungkook had all jumped on the chance. Hoseok and Namjoon especially at the mention of the chance to win back their luck.
In the end though, Yoongi had managed to pull through on a tight tie a couple times and hurried off.
“That’s the happiest I’ve seen him today,” Namjoon muttered, crossing his arms.
Silence had filtered through the group.
Until Jimin chuckled. Then one by one everyone was laughing, including Yoongi, who’s shy laughter drifted through the open door before becoming muffled.
--
Seokjin and Jimin were sitting on the couch, still bitter but not as much.
Jimin had softly said, “I’m sorry,” while Seokjin simultaneously whispered the same.
The two shared a look and had a good chuckle.
“We’re being a little petty over this, aren’t we?”
“I suppose, but you did throw your phone and sit on me hyung.”
Seokjin shook his head in disappointment, “I know; it was wrong of me to do that.”
It was quite a while before any of the two spoke again, they were enjoying the pleasantness of the quiet. But it was broken pretty easily by the chatter of Taehyung and Jungkook as one of them had succeeded in winning at smash bros. Their happiness filtering through the open door like butter spread nicely on toast.
“Okay, I’m going to play a game. You coming?”
Seokjin waved away the idea, “I’m alright. Go,” he responded with a smile.
Disagreements between people take time to heal. But it’s always possible.

It was an early evening, sun only just beginning its decent into the concrete jungle that existed just outside the window of the high-rise apartment. Jungkook and Taehyung decided to play videogames after an easy-going discussion for the next album with the rest of the members, Jimin occasionally popping in to pick on the two when they messed up in Mario Kart races or Street Fighter matches. You were with Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hoseok in the studio fiddling with Cubase and other DAWs for fun, settling on a weird plugin to occupy the time, that distorted whoever’s voice spoke or sang into the microphone.
“Hey, HEY, don’t worrrry ‘bout me!” Namjoon’s filtered voice filtered about the space, while Hoseok was laughing his ass off at the wobbliness of it all, Yoongi had a small smile on his face, and you were around the same state as Hoseok. Clutching onto Hoseok’s shoulder as you balled with giggles like you were being tickled.
Seokjin was in his shared room, happily on his phone when Jimin bursts through the door. The man was so startled that he chucked his phone toward Jimin — who barely managed to duck after he himself was shocked, and the two just stood there in silence. Seokjin nervously smiled, before Jimin took off after him in a jokingly angered way. Running to catch up and managing to snag Seokjin’s jacket that swirled around him like leaves in the wind, pulling him back toward him but instead of wrapping his arms around his waist, was in fact knocked to the ground. Seokjin’s larger frame landing directly on top of him. The men grunted as gravity stomped on them, air escaping their lungs from the impact.
Jungkook waddled out from the living room to find Jimin attempting to shove Seokjin off of him but was failing miserably, grumbling curses under his breath when he realised it was impossible. Taehyung appeared moments later clutching his stomach in hysterics at the sight. Seokjin was laughing as well, which only made Jimin even more pissed. He quickly hooked Seokjin’s right leg around his own and pulled Seokjin’s right arm towards the ground, pushing his other leg upwards in an attempt to get Seokjin off — who completely fell off of Jimin in surprise.
“You alright there?” Taehyung questioned, a tint of glee in his tone. Jimin just glared at him from the floor, looking close to punch him. Seokjin stood up and began to pat his clothes to rid the creases, eyeing the two in front of him and heavily sighing. Glad that Jungkook wasn’t here either.
You and Hoseok, still on about the craziness of distorted Namjoon singing, happened upon the trio’s standstill with Jungkook also coming out to peek at what was going on. Jimin and Taehyung were bickering, while Seokjin just looked like he wanted to run the other way, ears tinted red and staring at anything but Jimin and Taehyung.
You sighed and looked to Hoseok, who had a firm, but unreadable expression on his face. He turned back the way he came.
You all stood still.
Waiting.
Hoseok returned with Namjoon, Yoongi trailing behind him. With a single nod to everyone, Namjoon successfully dragged everyone to the living room. Jungkook promptingly switching the TV off, as you all settled on the available seats.
“First, what happened before this?”
Jimin huffed, crossing his arms, and simply saying, “Seokjin threw his phone at me.”
“You startled me first by barging into my room!” Seokjin angerly remarked, “Unannounced, might I add.”
“I didn’t know you had a phone in your hand!”
“Maybe you should knock next time then.”
Jimin grumbled again, unable to reply.
Namjoon just sighed into his hand, trying to think what to do.
“We are only two months into this lockdown and already fights are breaking out. You two need to find a way to cool off,” Yoongi chimed in. Namjoon gently nodding next to him.
You sat there in puddle of your own sweat at the idea it was only two months since the lockdown, and there were already conflicts. How can they stay friends in such close proximity in general?
Jimin sat up and headed out of the living room towards his room, and Seokjin did the same. The six of you remaining all collectively agreed to leave the two alone, and went off. Although, the five boys decided on watching a movie, Yoongi, Hoseok, Taehyung, Namjoon and Jungkook all began scrolling through Netflix while you stared out into space. Furrowing your brows deep in thought.
While lockdown was stressful enough, you wondered if or when it’d get better. This definitely wasn’t a normal honeymoon phase when new events start. In fact, it felt more bickery than flattery.
“Hey _____, are you going to watch with us?” Jungkook asked, pulling you out of your head.
“Yeah, sure. Have you guys chosen something?”
Yoongi answered quickly, “We thought a light-hearted movie would be good.”
“So we’re putting on a Disney movie,” Hoseok finished. Namjoon hummed in confirmation, “The Little Mermaid.”
You perked up at that, smiling, “Sounds good! Put it on, put it on!” You excitedly said.
Everyone there chuckled at your reaction, putting the movie on quickly.
--
Pretty much everyone had fallen asleep by the time the movie’s credits had rolled on by. The boys all somehow ended up on top of each other in a cuddle puddle, and you had to wordlessly move their legs off your own to get to the kitchen.
Seokjin was there when you entered, his fingers tapping the mug he held as he drank what was in there silently, brows furrowed in concentration. You paused at the doorway, concerned.
“Seokjin? Are you alright?” He didn’t startle and held firm, only slightly surprised at your sudden introduction.
He looked tired as he answered with an, “I’m fine _____. Thanks.”
You padded over and took out a glass from one of the cabinets, filling it with water when Seokjin asked, “How’s everyone else?”
“Asleep. I don’t know how to get them all to their beds,” you replied while sipping on the water.
Standing a lot closer to Seokjin, you focused on how seriously exhausted the man was. Seokjin is someone who doesn’t vocalise their struggles often, and prefers to show the happier sides of life, and is a calming presence. But you felt that the person in front of you was drained entirely.
So, you put your glass down, and did the same with Seokjin’s, which was easier as it was already on the island. You slid the cup away from him.
“Let’s go to bed Jin.” Seokjin began, “But what abo—”
“I’ll handle them. You need sleep.”
With that, Seokjin headed off to bed, grumbling but still going along with it anyways.
You turned back to the doorway that led to the living room. Ah yay, this’ll be fun. You quickly walked into the room. Noticing first the black TV, how it turned off by itself, and the sleepy forms of most of your friends. Yoongi and Jungkook had managed to end up on top of one another, while Namjoon, Taehyung and Hoseok had all curled around each other. Your first instinct was to yell loudly, but that would wake everyone else up.
With some hesitation, you went with shaking them all from the shoulder. Jungkook, Namjoon and Hoseok woke up easy, eyes drowsy and drooping though, but they all helped you try and wake the last two who were notorious heavy sleepers. At one point, Hoseok had tried jumping onto Taehyung, but just fell off the side of the couch when he landed; Taehyung had just curled further into the fetus position and mumbling incoherent nonsense. Which, to be fair, all of you who were up found hilarious.
Yoongi was the same, well, mostly. He kept between half-asleep and asleep, and you and Namjoon thought by this time Yoongi was just messing with you all.
Instead of Hoseok, Jungkook tried jumping on the two-sleeping people, and actually managed to get Yoongi up. Who just shot up and glared at the maknae. Now it was Taehyung that was still asleep.
Which, Jungkook also handled easily. He resulted to pinching the slightly older man awake.
You sighed in relief, all of them were awake.
Namjoon glanced at everyone as they all yawned, he clapped twice and sent everyone to their rooms.
--
Jimin and Seokjin were tense around each other when morning came. Avoiding the other completely when they could. Namjoon was over the behaviour and called another meeting.
“Alright, you two need to work this out.”
They didn’t even look at each other.
“Answer me guys. I can’t do anything if you don’t talk what’s on your mind, yes?” Namjoon firmly reminded them.
Seokjin huffed, “I’m pissed at him.”
“Why would you be pissed at me? I would be more so! You through your phone at me and sat on me! This isn’t fair Namjoon! Why am I even here?” Jimin angerly spouted at the two.
Namjoon groaned under his breath. Annoyance etched into his expression as the two started arguing again.
“Okay!” You yelled—shutting them up. “Look, Seokjin,” You began, “I can understand why you’d be angry, someone barged into your room without knocking, and I empathise that throwing your phone was a reflex, but not moving when Jimin was struggling underneath you wasn’t nice, yes?”
Seokjin’s gaze drifted from yours, silent.
“Jimin,” you turned to him, “Don’t go into other people’s rooms—even if its shared, you never know if someone is busy, cooling off, or needing space. Always knock.”
“Now, Seokjin apologise to Jimin; Jimin do the same.”
It was nothing short of amazing, how quickly you handled everything. The rest of the boys watching you in fascination, as the two apologised, genuinely so.
As the group dispersed once more, Yoongi and Namjoon had the same thought, “I’m glad she’s here.”
