“Curiosity killed the cat, you know,” Your anxious friend Hoseok says through the phone.
You roll your eyes even though he can’t see you through the cellular device that’s currently pressed against your ear by your shoulder. Shoving the rest of your hiking gear into your bag and zipping it closed.
“Yeah, but satisfaction brought it back.” You smile at your own witty come back, and you hear Hoseok chuckle through the phone, although it doesn’t sound as cheerful as he usually sounds.
“That was a good one, but seriously Y/n. There’s ‘do not enter’ signs there for a reason.” You throw your backpack over your shoulder, somehow keeping the phone near your ear as you do so. Walking out the door to set out for your hike that you and Hoseok are currently arguing about.
You’re a pretty advocate hiker, but you’ve always felt the extra thrill going through caves. Something about the dark surroundings gets your adrenaline pumping, and just as you said to your friend through the phone, any “haunted” caves or houses always ended up as empty as the rumor itself.
Those places always have the stupidest of backstories too. How someone was killed in 1802 and now haunts the grounds, or how there’s a mass grave of murder victims from the 70s.
The cave you decided to travel to this time, it’s rumors were a little different. Saying how there’s a monster cave dweller that kills and eats anyone that enters his home.
Yeah… I call bullshit!
“It’s all bullshit, Hoseok. I’ve never visited a quote on quote ‘haunted’ cave that was actually haunted,” You say to your friend through the phone, unbelieving all the stories unlike your friend.
“But what about all the sightings?”
You take the phone away from your ear, and look up to the sky to frantically mouth the words oh my god. You could tell Hoseok a witch lived underneath our old high school, and he would believe you even though he went there for four straight years. Hoseok was too easy to fool for his own good, but he was also one of your closest friends. Not many people liked you very much, and that has a lot to do with your adventures personality.
While most people your age went to malls and bars on a Friday night, you set up a whole game plan to hike up a mountain and find the cave that has so many people in the town near by spooked. All because someone allegedly “saw something move” in the cave for 30 feet away. Besides being spooked, though, you set up a whole travel schedule for the summer surrounding this one trip.
“Dude, chill out. If you’re talking about the sighting from over a month ago, I almost promise you that guy was drunk. Even if, it was probably just a mountain lion.”
“A mountain lion! That’s even worse!”
You can’t help but laugh this time. Chuckling into the phone, but still keeping your eyes ahead of you, so you don’t accidentally trip and fall on some rock.
“I’ll be fine, Hoseok. I’ll even keep you on the phone with me the entire-“
Beep. Beep.
And… your phone lost signal. Figures. It’s then you realize you’ve traveled way farther up your path then you thought you did. Long legs and all, I guess.
You shrug to yourself, and pocket your phone. Even though you know your friend is probably freaking out right now that your phone call just dropped, you know you’ll be okay. You’ve been hiking and cave exploring many times by yourself. You tried to convince him to come with you, after all, but just like every other time you asked Hoseok to join you, he gave you the same excuse.
Girlfriend.
You’re starting to think this girlfriend is fake because you’ve never even met the girl. She also only pops up in his plans when you ask him to go exploring with you. Whatever. Not something you want to think about while you’re in this peaceful wilderness.
You brush your hand across a bush as you continue your path up the steep mountain. Taking in the beautiful surroundings, and filling your lungs with the fresh air. You’ve always love the outdoors. Ever since you were little and your parents brought you camping for the first time. It wasn’t until you turned twelve when your dad brought you on one of your hiking trails, and then you were hocked on traveling every piece of land you could.
Currently, your in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. You traveled all this way to visit the cave that caught the attention of some gullible people on Twitter - your friend included - and now you’re here to explore. Unlike most people that explore these types of things, your not here to hunt monsters or even debunk the rumor. Truthfully, you just love exploring new places. And although it’s claimed to be haunted, so much so that they plastered ‘do not enter’ signs all over the entrance, you still found the need in your heart to go and explore it.
By the time you got to the cave itself, you drank half a bottle of water and the sun was nearly set. You having to rely on your flashlight for light now.
I know what your thinking. What is a girl like me doing alone in the woods? Isn’t that the start to like every horror story ever?! Well, yes, but you’ve been to enough places in the past 8 years to survive the wilderness. Especially a wilderness that you saw a flowing stream of fresh water a mile back down the mountain.
You point the flashlight inside the cave, and the first thing you see is the ‘do not enter’ sign. You roll your eyes at it, hoist your backpack higher up your back, then enter the cave.
Even with all its rumors, no one ever said how beautiful the cave was. You actually gasped when you realized your flashlight lit up the entire cave. Blue crystals littering the caves surface, and making it look like everything around you is sparkling.
You’re in awe of it all. So in awe, that when a rock falls from behind you, it makes you jump in surprise. You turn around, seeing nothing but the curved end of the cave that’s in the direction of the entrance. You shrug your shoulders, playing it off as just a loose rock, then travel further into the cave.
Everything is still sparkling around you. Even though your above a half a mile deep into the cave now, it’s like your still outside. The flashlight helping tremendously.
Your flashlight starts to flicker, though, and you think it’s time to bring out your spare, but after hitting it a few times with your hand it flashes clearly again. When you point it back at the wall, you see something curious on it. You lean in close to the wall of the cave, seeing there’s some scratch marks there and you think at first it’s writing. You run your fingers over the sharp lines, and realize it is, in fact, scratch marks.
That knowledge makes you shiver, but you play it off as just a wild animal. It’s then, while you’re still looking at the scratches on the wall, that you hear movement from behind you. You spin your entire body around toward the direction of the sound, already pulling out your knife in your backpacks outer pocket.
When you see nothing there, you call out, “Who’s there?”
But no one answers, but the echo of your own voice. And out of all times, your flash light starts to flicker again. It flickers and flickers, and at the last flicker you see some black hair peaking out from behind one of the rocks before the flashlight completely gives out. You rush to get out your spare flashlight, your nerves taking over and making you take it out at lightening speed to the point you drop the other one somewhere on the ground.
You press the on button of your new flashlight, and point it at the rock where you swore you saw something behind it. But when you look over at the rock, nothings there. “Huh,” You say to yourself. “I must be losing my mind.”
…
“Mind?”
You scream bloody fucking murder when a thing right next to you speaks. You jump away from it, going towards the other side of the cave to get as far away from it as possible. You point the light at the thing, and you see a creature wearing all black, with black hair to match. It covers its face with its arm, not liking you pointing the light at it, then hisses in your direction. It’s then you see the being has sharp teeth too, with long pointed nails to match.
“Turn that light off!” It demands of you.
“Nah, I’m good,” You say, and then you book it. You run like hell in the direction you came. You get about ten feet away from where you just were before you fall flat on your face. This isn’t one of those horror movie moments where the girl trips on air, though. Something fucking pushes you.
You spin around on the ground, pulling out your knife from your pack and point it at the creature. It’s standing on its legs now, hunched over a bit, above you. It isn’t touching you, but it’s staring down at you like you’re the one that’s scared him half to death.
“D-don’t leave… Please.”
You falter at his words. Actually scrunching your eyebrows together in confusion when the creatures begging hits your ears. Did he just say, please?
“I-I’ve been alone for so long. Please don’t leave me alone again.” The creature then drops too it’s knees, and you blink at it in confusion. He really is begging you to stay.
You swallow past the lump in your throat, still pointing your knife and flash light in it’s direction. The creature blinks up at you from his spot on the ground about a foot away from you, and blinks at the harsh light. He hisses at you again, making you crawl backwards a step.
“N-no! That thing…” It points at your flashlight with one long nail. You look at your flashlight, then back at the cave dweller. You point it away from it’s face, but not to far enough away that you can’t see it in front of you. The sparkles are still around the cave, but that’s only helping so much especially when your currently fearing for your life.
The creature breathes a sigh of relief, and something you didn’t expect crosses it’s face…. It smiles…. Well, he smiles. Now that you have a few seconds to take in his appearance, you know, for a fact, that it is a he. A very dark, sharp toothed, crazy looking he, but still a he.
“I’m sensitive to light,” The cave dweller explains, almost embarrassed. You just nod your head, like this information and formal conversation isn’t the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you.
“I see that,” You say because you have no idea what else to fricken say in this situation.
The cave dweller then plops on his butt, stretching his feet out in front of himself to the point your feet are almost touching, and continues to smile at you. A moment of silence stretches between you two, and when that moment ends, you’re back to reality. The initial shock of thinking you’re about to die going away.
You cough, awkwardly, then start to get up as you say, “Um… sorry to disturb you in your - home. But I should really get going.”
“What!” The guy jumps up, and you jump with him in surprise. Trying to be a little courteous and not point the light directly in his face again, but still pointing the knife in his direction.
“I-I have people waiting for me. Um… there probably looking for me now, so…” It was a lie, and not a very good one, but by the way the creature suddenly looks sad you can tell he bought it.
You start to walk away, not totally letting your back face him, and you’re stopped by the cave dweller again. “Will you come back tomorrow?”
Your eyes widen with his question. Truthfully, you would rather run as far away from this place as possible, but by the way this creature is giving you puppy dog eyes right now, you almost feel… bad for him?
You’ve always been a sucker for lonely people. Always wanting to comfort them in their time of need. You’ve been lonely all your life, since people claimed to dislike you before they really even got to know you. Thinking back about your earlier brushed off question, you remember that’s how you and Hoseok met. He was the lonely math nerd on the middle school bleachers, and you were the pumped up - equally as alone - band geek sitting next to him.
Sounds like the start to a bad country song, but that’s really how you two met. You both just being alone at the pep rally, and sitting next to each other because no one wanted to sit next to either of you. And that was the start to your beautiful friendship.
Anyway, back to the present. You look at the creatures eyes, and he reminds you of Hoesak in a weird way. The desperation for friendship is written all over the creatures face. Even though you really, really don’t want to make any promises to this weird creature, you blow out a gust of hot air and tell him, “Yes. I’ll be back tomorrow.”
The smile returns to the creature’s face, and even though his shape teeth make him look so menacing, there’s a innocence there. An innocence that your probably the first to see and recognize in him in a long time.
------
The next day, for whatever fucking reason that you can’t even come up with yourself, you go back to the cave. Not before getting an ear full through the phone by your friend first, but as always you ignore his warnings. You should really stop doing that now. Especially after his fears of the extreme were actually fucking accurate for once.
Oh, you got a few “I told you so’s” from him too. You weren’t scared or worried to tell Hoseok about what happened to you. The man believes in aliens and werewolf’s, so you didn’t think twice about him believing you. But after that first interaction with your new cave dweller friend, you might just believe in them too now.
You walk the same path you did yesterday inside the cave, but this time you watch your flashlight shake in your hand. No longer caring about how the cave sparkles when your light hits a crystal just right. Every step you take into the cave makes you stomach churn from nerves. Nothing was actually making you come back today, but you also couldn’t get the creature’s face out of your head. He also wasn’t that creepy looking when you thought back on it later on. At least not in the face. Take away the sharp teeth, and dark as night black voided eyes, you could even say he’s kinda cute.
You chuckle at your own thoughts when you make it to the area you were at yesterday when you met the creature. You spin around, looking for him, then you hit yourself in the head when you realize you did that. You shouldn't be looking for him. You only came back because you felt bad, not because you wanted to add “friend’s with a cave dweller” to your list of summer actives.
Only because you felt it was the right thing to do, and so you call out into the cave, “Hey! Anyone there?” No answer. “It's me from yesterday. I said I would come back, and I did!”
You wait another moment but nothing happens. Not even a movement of rock to make you understand where he is. Maybe you made up the occurrence with cave dweller. Maybe you hit your head on some rocks yesterday and dreamed the whole thing. Although, that wouldn’t explain how you got all the scratches on your legs from rolling around on the ground yesterday.
Either way, you start to turn around and walk back the way you came. Rendering this whole trip as a bust, and really in need to schedule an appointment with a counselor.
“Wait!” You hear the cave dweller screech from behind you, making you stop in your tracks and turn around. Just like yesterday, he's decked out in all black. But unlike yesterday, you find him out of breath and panting. Almost like he just jogged up a mountain to get here.
“Oh - wow - you’re actually real,” Is the first thing you say when you see him.
The creature looks up at you from his spot a few feet away, heaving out air as he holds himself up with his hand on his knees, confused by your statement. When he finally recovers from whatever made him so out of breathe, he straightens up. His knees are still slightly bent, and his back is slouched, but it’s weird seeing him stand up instead of hobbling on the ground like the creatures by in movies. But I guess this is different since it’s real fricken life, y/n!
“Why wouldn’t I exist?” He asks.
“I don’t know, maybe because you’re a cave monster.” You gasp at your own harsh words, and you feel even worse when you see him cave in on himself. Looking like you just wounded a puppy, instead of a creature that you see eat girls like you in the most gruesome ways in movies.
Again, real life, y/n. Real life.
“I’m so sorry. I-I don’t know why I said that.”
He recovers a little, but the sadness in his eyes doesn’t get past you.
“It's okay. I’ve been called worse.”
His way of making you feel better actually made you feel worse. You’re probably the first human that’s ever showed him any kindness in a long time. You should’t be shitting on him for something he can’t help. You try to recover the conversation by changing the subject, “Why were you out of breath before?”
He blinks a few times, then when he remembers how he came to you, he says, “Oh! I just woke up, so running to you was difficult.”
You raise a pointed eyebrow at him. “It's 11 pm.”
“Is it? I wouldn’t know. I-I can’t be touch sunlight, or any bright light for that matter.” He really drives his words home when he looks at the flashlight in your hand like it killed his entire family. This thing is really dramatic to, I guess.
But since you’re such a nice person, you place the flashlight on the ground, sitting next to it, and pointing it in the opposite direction of him. He smiles at your gesture, and takes a set in front of you, still keeping quite a lot of distance between the two of you.
“Why can’t you be in the light?”
His once brighter then life sharp teether smile fades, and once again you feel that gut churching feeling of guilt. Is there anything you can say in front of him without making him look like a wounded animal?
“It’s a long story... but basically, I got this witch mad, and she cursed me for life. Never to enjoy the sun again, and never to look like how I once did.”
“...Look like you once did?” You repeat back to him in question, and he nods his head.
“Yeah. I was human once.” Your eyes widen in surprise, and the creature grins. “I know, surprising, but it was a long... long time ago.”
You felt his sadness radiate to you. It was the most upsetting thing to hear that he only looked and lived like this because of a witch - Which by the way, witches are real. Who knew? His saddened expression, and the way he's looking at the ground makes you want to cuddle him up in your arms. Instead of doing something as weird as that, you become brave enough to place your hand on his shoulder. Feeling him jump in surprise as you do that. “I’m so sorry that happened to you.”
The creature looks back and forth between your hand and your face. You think it maybe making him uncomfortable, so you take your hand off his shoulder. As soon as you do, he grabs onto you wrist and yells, “No!” Both of your eyes become wide, but for completely different reasons. “I-I mean... please don’t. I haven’t been...”
He doesn’t continue what he was going to say, but you understand immediately. The poor kid has probably been touch starved since he was left here by that witch. No one brave enough to talk or even be close to him. That’s why, less hesitant then before, you reach your other hand out and place it on top of his that’s still holding your wrist. His eyes widen again, and lets go of your wrist. You take ahold of his hand with both of your hands, then kiss one of his fingers that don’t have a long nail attached to it. The creature shivers, and you smirk when you see his face heat up scarlet.
“What's your name, sweetie?” You ask as you massage his hand in your one hand, while the other one circled his wrist. You feel like the devil for what you’re doing, but after finding out he was once a human. he reminds you a lot of the types of guys you used to mess around with in high school. Ones that always sounded like-
“J-Jimin.”
Like that. Stuttering and cute as a button.
You smile when you hear him say his name, and you don’t miss the higher pitch of his voice either. “Hi, Jimin.” You don’t miss how he shivers when you say his name, either. “My name’s Y/n.”
-----
For the next week, you would visit Jimin every single day. You were only supposed to visit this trail for a week, and then move on to your next destination, but there was no way you were leaving him to go see some fountains in Canada.
You know it’s stupid, even Hoseok told you it was when you talked to him on the phone again three days ago, but you couldn’t help it! Jimin was really starting to grow on you especially every time you grazed his hand. How he would act like you flashed him your tits. It was just so cute!
He was falling for you hard, you could tell too. Ever since you visited him in the cave a week ago, he would be waiting in this spot everyday for you. Continuing to blush and act like the most innocent little monster you’ve ever met… well, the only monster you’ve ever met but who’s counting?
You’re not sure when you turned into such a little devil around him, either. Getting so excited every time he became a little mess around you. Whether it was when you started laughing so hard around with him that your breasts bounced, making him run silent and follow the movements with his eyes. Or when you hugged him for the first time, pressing your body to him and feeling his reaction through his tight leather pants. With both occurrences, you felt this evil smirk rise on your face while watching him squirm in front of you. Him not understanding his own feelings and making you want to tease him... or teach him.
Today was the closest you ever got. Come to find out, although a witch cursed him to live a lonely life, she gave him a few exciting perks. One perk being his ability to conjure up some magic.
While the walls were sparkling with your camping lamp your brought - the one you found in your pack and was better for Jimin to not be blinded by the light - he showed you his abilities. Him wanting to impress you, and wanting you to look at him in that special way you have been doing lately.
With a flick of his wrists and wiggle of his nails, three white glowing butterflies puffed out of thin air. Your were in awe of the mystical butterflies you watched fly around the cave. One of them landing on your nose for a second and making you giggle.
Sadly, this little trick only lasted a few moments. The butterflies soon puffing into thin air, and leaving only your camping lamp as light.
“Is that how you’re able to see around the cave?” You ask Jimin, still staring at the place in the air the butterflies just disappeared from.
“Yeah… I guess the witch realized me being able to see in the dark was needed somehow.”
You look over at Jimin, watching his once cheerful face that was watching you swoon at his magic flip upside down into a upsetting frown. Your own once smiling face turning downwards at the sight. So, you do what you always did when the witch was brought up - you give your little touched starved monster some lovings. Grasping his hand gently, and watching a tremor course through his body when your soft skin touch’s his rougher palm.
You smile apologetically at him, feeling bad about his situation that he can’t find a way out of. You asked him once if there was a way to reverse the curse that the witch casted on him, but he said he didn’t know any. The witch being someone he barely knew at the time even, and the only reason she cursed him was out of secret jealousy. You guess the witch had a crush on Jimin all those years ago, and when Jimin started maturing and getting closer to girls, instead of doing the mature thing and trying to talk to him, the young witch cursed him to a life of loneliness.
One thing you got out of that story: witches were indeed bitches. It’s been almost 10 years since that happened to him, and ever since then Jimin has been alone in this cave. That thought drove you to touch him further and cuddle up next to him, wanting to make the cave dweller feel loved somehow. You feel him shiver against you when your nose touches his neck as you lean on his shoulder. The reddening of the balls of his cheeks not passing by you.
You smirk, feeling mischievous as you always do when you see the cave dweller get nervous around you. Him glancing everywhere, but at you. “I guess the witch didn’t take in your other needs when she left you here either, huh?”
Jimin looks down at you on his shoulder, confused. Not understanding what your words mean or why your voice suddenly became hushed. When he sees the way your biting your lip, making your words more suggestive to his ears now, he blinked rapidly and felt his own face become redder in this dark cave. The heat burning him ever so slightly.
He swallows around the lump in his throat, digging his nails into the hard ground, but because they’re so sharp it cuts through the hard sand easily. You pick your head up off of his shoulder when you see his reaction. Not wanting to overwhelm him to much, but still smiling nonetheless. You start to look around, trying to change the subject since your mind stared thinking some very corrupted thoughts, but then you feel his hand squeeze yours. Making you look back at him and see the shy look in his eyes.
“You okay, Jimin?”
He looks everywhere but at you again, and is somehow able to answer your question with a few stuttering words. Even if the feel on your face in his neck still lingers. “Y-your skin… it’s…”
Unable to find the words he’s trying to form, he caresses your hand still in his hand with his thumb. Captivated by the soft feel your skin has against his own.
You grown a small smile, leaning closer while you quiet your voice as you speak, “Do you like the feel of me, Jimin?”
His name on your lips makes his stomach twist, and he squeezes the sand in his one hand instead of the one that’s holding yours. Feeling so sensitive to even your whispering of his name. Jimin couldn’t even believe it himself on how affected he was by you. It’s been so long since he last had a friend, and you being all female and fluid with your actions has been making him dizzy with hypersensitivity. On one but him being able to touch him for far too long, and he’s starting to understand the extent of what your small touches can do.
But he doesn’t hate it. He wants you to overstimulate him. Make him feel things he’s hasn’t in so long, and he doesn’t care if he ends up looking like a tomato because of it. To think, he almost lost you to his devilish - in a bad way - looks from the very beginning. His mean hisses and gruesome appearance making you frightened at first, but he’s glad that he built up the courage at the time to ask you to stay. To not run away like all the other people that only ever got a glimpse of him at the time, and running away from the sheer fear of what he could be.
You were the first to get to know him. Actually take interest in him, and want to find out what makes Jimin Jimin. Not just about the curse, but also what he used to love. How sitting out in the sun used to be his favorite thing, and how he has a ear for good music. Wanting to go back to the days where he could roam freely outside of this caves, but never having the ability to do so.
Jimin thinks the first time he realized he had real feelings for you, and not just the obsession with you touching him, was when you brought some headphone with you on your visit. The day after he told you his love for music, you let him listen to your own mixture of a playlist. Come to find out Jimin loves modern pop music, and seeing the way his eyes lit up when he heard the tunes for the first time had you amazed.
It may have seemed like such a trivial thing to people in the real world, but to Jimin in his little cave of a world it was everything. His heart palpating a little faster for you ever since. That was three days ago, and now he wants to experience more firsts with you. More firsts that he can’t even begin to comprehend.
That’s why, still a stuttering mess, Jimin lets out a breathless, “Yes,” to your question. Him wanting you to touch him as much as you are allowing it.
And you’re definitely allowing it today. You squeeze his hand in yours, watching his eyes light up when you pick up your other hand to inch it towards him. Your hand gently caresses his cheek, feeling his skin pebble under yours in goosebumps. Feeling a little darling, and maybe even mischievous, you inch closer to him. Tracing his nose with your own, and hearing Jimin’s breathing pick up in the process.
You don’t kiss his lips, you not being sure how he’ll react to that yet, but you do tease at the kiss. Lingering your lips so closely to his, while your other hand brushes his cheeks and goes down his neck that’s slightly exposed from his tight leather turtleneck. You start to wonder where Jimin got these clothes from, but that thought goes away when you hear Jimin let out a small moan. Your lips brushing the corner of his mouth when you move in a centimeter closer.
You bite your lip, loving the sound he just made and how he’s practically vibrating in his seat now. His hand once digging into the sand has a fist full of it now. Grasping onto it for dear life as you continue with your teasing touches.
“So soft,” Jimin whispers in between the two of you, and if you weren’t so close to him you probably wouldn’t of heard it. Almost like his lips moved without him knowing and speaking the firsts words he thought of. You smile at his endearing compliment.
“Thank you, Jimin. You feel good too.” Jimin groans at the small praise. Somehow sounding so much more dirty in his innocent ears. “Do you want to feel even more good?”
It’s a dumb question, really. Of course Jimin wants to feel good, but it’s more of a question that is he ready for it? Ready to feel things he hasn’t been able to before. Nonetheless he enthusiastically nods his head at you.
You giggle at his enthusiastic response. Although you told yourself you wouldn’t do this no more then a moment ago, having Jimin in your arms like this is making you crave the same thing. To feel how his lips would feel against yours, and wanting to find out what he would do when you do it.
Tentatively, you slowly move in closer to him. Feeling his breathe fan your lips when he gasps and realizes what you’re about to do. You pause just when your lips were about to touch, and you look into Jimin’s wide eyes. So much innocence there. Dark eyes that you think were once brighter then the sun stare up at you. Seeming inpatient when you watch one of them twitch.
Then, you do it. You push your small pair of lips against his plump ones, and there’s an instant reaction from Jimin. A small moan being released into your mouth. He tastes like bark and sand, but his lips feel softer then clouds. Feeling a little good about how his lips feel against your own, but Jimin is on cloud 9 about yours.
You taste like mint and sugar to him. Two things he hasn’t been able to taste in a long time. You feel so good against him, and not knowing how to express that besides staying still, he just let you take over. Thinking if he moves even a little bit, you’ll decide to detach your lips from his. But you don’t.
After a few seconds to let Jimin get the first little gentle tasting of you, you start to move against him. Inexperienced lips eventually move back with you, but you’re mainly taking the lead with how both of your lips are moving.
It isn’t until your tongue juts out to touch his bottom lip, that you feel the familiar vibration of excitement come from him along with a higher pitched moan that you swallow from him. Slowly, you allow your tongue to enter his mouth. Not touching his tongue yet with yours, but scrapping it across his shape teeth. The sharp surface making your head spin because you’ve never felt something so interesting that it gets your blood flowing against your tongue, and you can only imagine how Jimin is feeling.
Jimin is feeling fucking crazed. He’s dizzy by you still touching his hand and neck, but the way your lips are moving against him now has him melting. When he feels your tongue touch his lip, he can’t help but moan at the contact. Something so simple as a touch of tongues has him feeling as hard as a rock too. When your tongue touches his teeth, it makes him feel ecstatic. Knowing you’re not afraid of touching his sharp canines, and being so grateful to have met a girl like you.
When you feel Jimin start to slouch, his relaxed mind taking over for him, you touch your tongue against his. Besides just another moan his hands shoot you out of the sand - grasping onto your shoulders gently like he couldn’t help but want to touch you further in that moment.
After another moment has passed, you detach your lips from each other. Both of your lips feeling swollen, but you smile when you see how fucked out Jimin looks by just kissing. Him looking like he was just drenched by water because of how much he’s sweating.
“Did you like that?” You ask after another moment has passed, scrapping your nose against his like before.
Jimin breathes in as much air his lungs with allow, feeling like he hasn’t breathed the entire time your lips were in matrimony. Unable to speak now, he nods his head enthusiastically again for you.
If Jimin wasn’t in love with you before, he sure is now. And what’s even better then that, you’re also starting to feel your heart grow a little bigger for the cave dweller.
-----
Before you know it, a month has passed since you first met Jimin. In all honestly, you’ve never lived a more happier life before you met Jimin. While talking on the phone with Hoseok last, which was over a week ago now, you realized something detrimental to your life.
You always secretly wanted this.
Wanted a life filled around just one person. In a way, you’ve also been touch starved yourself. Maybe not by actual touching, but starved by having the sense of love from another person. That’s why you always loved the loners. Wanting to be around the people you felt needed you most. You just loved to feel needed, and right now, Jimin needs you more than ever.
That’s why, without thinking twice about it, you moved your whole life out here. To bum-fuck nowhere in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Renting a cabin from a nice family near by, and then telling you that you could stay as long as you want because no one had rented from them in years. It was cheap, and it gave you enough space to do what you needed there. You actually have a lot of money saved up, especially all the money you kept after your grandparents passed away. You being there only grandchild and actually giving a shit about them when they were alive gave you this perk.
It also didn’t matter where the cabin was or what it looked like. You only took it because it was less then five miles from Jimin’s cave, and cheap as fuck. You weren’t going to be spending much time in it, anyway.
Now, here you are, in the lap of a cave dweller that’s dick is as hard as a rock again from just kissing. You both have been in this position a lot since your first kiss. Both of you wanting to be consumed by each other in every way possible, and Jimin being surprised every time you let it happen. You’ve been taking the lead every time, which you didn’t care nor worry about, but this time it was Jimin who started the ritual of you two kissing.
All it took was you wiping some water after a drink from your flask off of your mouth, and his eyes were zeroed in on your movements. His own mouth watering when he watched you lick the corner of your mouth.
With a hesitating and stuttering, “C-can I kiss you?”
Skip to a couple minutes later, and now you’re straddling his legs, with his arms hesitantly wrapped around your back. Kissing like it’s both of your first times again. Which, no more then a month ago, it was Jimin’s first. That’s why you haven’t pushed him to far. Not wanting to overwhelm or push him to far off the ledge of his innocence.
But now you’re all for corruption at this point. It’s been so long since someone wanted you like this. Even if he was a cave monster, you want him just as much as he does you. Him asking for the kiss is all you needed to know he wanted you, not to mention the reactions he gives every time you still brush hands. But this was different. It wasn’t just his touch starved brain wanting you, he actually wanted you!
So now, your hands are buried in his dark locks, and you’re slowly rocking your hips back and forth. Loving it every time Jimin moans into your mouth when you brush his hard cock through his jeans with your thighs. You’ve been itching to touch that part of him. To see what this cave dweller has inside his tight pants, but you’re not sure how he would react to it.
Kissing and gentle rubs through the pants are one thing, but actually touching him there is different. You’re not sure if he’s ready for it too, but your mouth still waters every time you think about how’d he react when your mouth surrounded him for the first time.
You moan into his mouth at the thought, Jimin stiffening underneath you at the sound. You rarely make any noises besides the sounds of heavy breathing. Hearing you actually moan is a whole different experience for Jimin’s ears. He wants you to make that sound again. He wants to make you feel good. As good as you do for him, and that noise was the first indication that he somehow did just that.
Slowly, he detaches your lips from his. Not moving to far away because he barely can contain himself if he does. You frown at him, not wanting to stop what you were once doing, but the way Jimin is nibbling on his lips right now you know he didn’t stop for no reason.
“Um… y/n,” He says your name like he already doesn’t have your full attention.
Your crock you head to the side, worried that you may have pushed Jimin to far with your own dirty thoughts somehow. “Everything okay, Jimin?”
While looking in between the two of you, he nods his head. His face is getting redder by the second, and you’re starting to really worry about what’s bothering him so much. Before your mind can drift to what it could be, Jimin finds the confidence to ask, “C-can I touch you?”
You raise an eyebrow at him, confused. “We’re already touching, silly.”
You pet the back of his head to emphasize your words, and Jimin’s arm hairs stand on end at the tentative caress. “That’s not what I-…“ He huffs out a breathe, letting out his frustration for not knowing the words he wants to say. So he tries one more time like you taught when you realized he had this problem, “I want to - to-…”
He hovers his hand in front of you. Gesturing all around your body and making you have to figure out what he wants. You’re a patient person. You also had a gift for figuring out riddles, so figuring out what Jimin wants with small hints is usually quite easy for you.
You look at his hands, how there hovering over every part of you. Then you look at his face, seeing the frustration in his eyes, but also the way he bites his bottom lip in concentration.
After a few more agonizing seconds tic by for Jimin, you figure out what he wants with a smirk. “Jimin… do you want to touch me here?” You take your own hand, placing it on your breast.
Jimin nods his head fast, biting his lip so hard he can taste metal. “Want to make you feel good too.”
You bite your own lip, feeling a blush come on by his words. He doesn’t even know how sexy it is to hear those words come from him. How dirty they sound.
“Alright, Jimin,” Is the last thing you say before you take one of his hovering hands in yours, and press it against your breast through your thin shirt. Jimin quietly gasps, looking at the area his hand is resting, wide eyed. You find him so adorable sometimes, but right now having him hold you like this is making your own neither regions clench.
You love feeling his hand on you like this, and so does he - Clearly. Jimin starts by experimentally groping you breast, feeling you squirm a little on top of him. He glances up at you and sees the slight blush on your checks. He knows that’s how he gets when you touch a certain part of him he likes, so you must be feeling the same. It’s when his thumb caresses a bump peaking out from under your shirt, that he hears it again.
You moan into the quiet cave when his thumb rubs over your nipple. Not wearing a bra today was a good call because having him touch you like this is feeling amazing! Jimin then feels enough confidence to grab onto your other breasts, both of his thumbs rubbing your buds through your shirt at the same time. You arch your back from the ecstasy inducing feeling his hands are giving you, pushing your breasts further into his hands as you do so. You can’t help yourself anymore…
You roughly smash your lips back together, gripping onto the back of his neck to push his lips further onto yours. You both moan into each other’s mouths at the same time. You doing so because Jimin now knows what you like up top, so he keeps rubbing at your nipples. Jimin moans because you’re now roughly grinding down on him, wanting to create an even higher amount of friction than before.
Before you entered his life, he never found the need to touch himself. When it did come, before you entered his life, he would just ignore it until it went away. The feeling and need to touch his cock and cum. That feelings has been slowly nibbling at his resolve lately. Eventually breaking completely and making him fist his cock in his hand one morning after you left the cave…. that was yesterday…. But the feeling is still there, now.
He wants to be as intimate with you as possible, and have you against him instead of in his head while he cums. Maybe that’s why he found the courage to ask you to kiss him this time. Knowing what the extent of his pleasure is making him want to find that extent with you too. Having that feeling now as your core grinds against his dick through your clothing.
Your not satisfied with just grinding, though. You can’t wait anymore. You want to touch him for real, and the way Jimin is moaning into your mouth right now you don’t think it will be to much. Even if it is, you know he will tell you. He’s promised you numerous times before, that he would tell you if the touching gets to be too much, so you’re trusting that he would tell you to stop if he’s gets to overwhelmed.
You detach your lips from his, giggling at his inpatient groan because of it, and back up in his lap. Jimin watches you curiously, already craving to feel you on top of him again but being a good boy by remaining patient. It’s when your hand starts to unbuckle his pants that his eyes blow out wide, though.
“Y/n, what are you… are you..?”
Jimin doesn’t need to finish his question, because he get his answer the second you pull down his pants just enough to release him from the confides of his tight pants. Jimin wants to be embarrassed that you’re seeing him so exposed like this, but once you grab ahold of him, he’s knocking his head back against the cave wall and moaning louder then he ever has before.
You slowly pump Jimin’s cock in your hand, not trying to move to fast or to slow. All the while kissing his now exposed neck. Just like you expected, Jimin is acting stir crazy at your touches.
The way your hand is moving on him, circling his tip every now and then with your thumb, has Jimin seeing stars. He knew you would be so much better at this then him. His hands were sloppy and unsure when he touched himself, but your hands are determined and experienced. Each pump of his cock feeling better than the last.
He wonders how many other guys you’ve done this to - been with in this way - but he pushes that thought as far away from his brain as possible. Not like the tickling of jealous it gives him, and how can he think about anything else, but your hand right now?
Jimin’s eyes are screwed shut. His long nails are diggings into the hard sand, and his sharp teeth are on full display as he hisses through his pleasure. You love this side of Jimin. The part of him that can’t control himself when he feels so good. It’s truly any amazing sight, and when you look down at his leaking cock that’s close to combusting you’re mouth waters. Wanting to taste him and have him cum in your mouth before he does it your hand. Which, by the looks of it, seems like it’s going to happen in the next few seconds.
You slow your hands movements down, moving your face closer to Jimin’s. When he looks back at you, finally opening his eyes, he almost cums right then and there. Seeing that look in your eyes does things to him. More than your little touches, and more then hearing you say his name in normal conversation. You’re just so pretty in his eyes, and the way you’re making him feel right now has him putty in your hands.
“Can I taste you, Jimin?“
It takes him a few seconds to understand what you mean, his inexperienced and oversensitive mind right now clouding his thinking, but once he watches you lick your lips his eyes widen even more. He never even thought about that before - what it would be like to have your mouth on him. His one other sexual experience with himself only had him imagining you touching him where you are now, so he’s not sure what it would feel like to have your wet... pretty... mouth surrounding him...
He makes a noise that sounds animalistic, but instead of shying away from it you start up stroking him again. Jimin flutters his eyes closed, trying to form words to your question but unable to because your hand just feels so good. Instead of saying anything, he just nods his head and then hangs it. Curious as to what it would feel like, and by the way your eyes light up when he agrees makes him think it’s anything but bad.
You bend your body over, your mouth centimeters from the tip of him. With one last look up at him, you take the tip of him in his mouth. The same animalistic noise is heard from Jimin again, but this time it sounds more monstrous. More beastly. Like you’re grinding down his control with your mouth alone. You don’t want him to keep his control, not while your mouth is on him.
So, you swallow him whole. Hearing a high pitched screech from above you as you do so. You know it could be considered a little mean to overwhelm him like this, but he did agree to it and there was no way he wouldn’t enjoy it.
Just like Jimin thought, it felt anything but bad. Feeling your wet mouth on him now is having him see stars again, but at the same time it makes his ears blow out. Only hearing white noise as your mouth slowly starts bobbing up and down on his length. It’s overwhelming, but in no way is Jimin going to stop you. It’s not like that. He wants this. He wants you.
You continue to bob your head on him slowly, enjoying the salty taste of his pre-cum on your tongue and hearing the moaning from above you. The vibrations of your own moan virberates across Jimin’s whole body. He’s feeling blood in his hands now because what was once filled with sand now it’s crushed in his palms, and making his nails hit his skin. There’s no pain to it, and truthfully he barely feels it. How can he feel anything else, but your mouth on him in this moment? Surrounding him fully, and making his mind feel cloudy with pleasure.
The wetness of your mouth is making him slick, so you pick up speed especially when he starts to grow larger in your mouth. He was already close from your touches before, and your mouth now has him... has him...
Jimin feels it in his spine first. The feeling of pressure building and wanting to release all at once. He tries to warn you. Not knowing that you would secretly love to have him cum down your throat, but he also doesn’t have the capability to form words at this moment. So, he does the first thing he can think of when he starts to cum. He pulls you by your hair straight off of him. Cumming all over himself and keeping you as far away from the mess as possible. Not wanting to dirty you with his seed.
Jimin’s seeing fucking galaxies now as he cums. Still feeling your mouths essence on him like a ghost, and spurt after spurt is the result of that. It takes Jimin a good minute to finally stop cumming and come down from his high, but when he does he looks at you with an overall fucked out lock. He realizes then that he’s still holding onto your hair, and lets go of it. Combing his fingers through your hair next because he just can’t help himself. You’re all he sees and all he feels. You’re all he ever sees and ever feels, but right now it’s times a hundred!
You smile at your work, seeing Jimin look so out of breath and dizzy from pleasure, and giggle when Jimin’s sweaty fingers try to pet your hair back to normal. The pull of your hair was surprising, but it did send a thrill through you. A thrill that went right to your core and made your body heat up like furnace. You wondered what Jimin would say if you asked him to recuperate this pleasure for you, but you wiped that though away as soon as it formed. Looking at him now, he looks beyond exhausted and you think only one new feeling is enough for him today.
You gently put him back in his pants, then settle yourself in his lap again - making sure not to sit on his slowly declining length in his pants. You wrap your arms around his neck, and are elated to feel Jimin wrap his arms around your waist lazily. Jimin looks close to passing out, so you kiss him on the nose to spark some energy back into him.
“Did that feel good, baby?”
He hums at the nickname, smiling up at you. “So good… Sorry I pulled your hair.” He winces. “I just couldn’t tell you what was coming.”
You smile down at Jimin, happy that he cares enough about you to apologize for his roughness, but you also can’t help your chuckle that bubbles out of your chest. “It’s okay, Jimin.” You peck him on the lips. “Just next time, let it come.”
You wink at him, and watch him process your words.
Let it come…. Next time…
Jimin is once again staring at you wide eyed, and you’re laughing up a storm in his lap. Finding his innocence so adorable even after you just rocked his world with you hands and mouth.
Your little monster is in for a treat with you, and you can’t wait to teach him your other dirty tricks.

A/N: So I’ve been working on and off on this story for almost a year. I came up with the concept for it on February 20th, 2021 and just finished it as of January 27th, 2022! This story is my baby, I love the characters and I included lots of personal elements that have helped me heal and cope a bit. I think I caught everything I needed to for the trigger warning but if I missed anything, please don’t hesitate to let me know! I hope you enjoy Let’s Get Home!
You never expected to live one of the most classic tropes, least of all this early in your life. You knew of the classic forbidden office romance and the college students assigned to work on a project together that fall in love. You grew up reading stories like those. You would’ve never expected your life to play out such a classic and definitely not one that included the infamous school annoyance.
It was your senior year of high school when he arrived. You had finally settled into your classes and found friends to make them more interesting. Each class you had was a bit challenging, but you enjoyed the majority of the content so you didn’t have too much to complain about. At least you didn’t at first.
Not until Kim Taehyung first acknowledged your existence.
What was worse? He was in all of your classes but one. Granted, you only currently had five classes until some of them switched quarterly. All of which you had friends in that were able to distract you from him for a while, but that only lasted so long. It would’ve been fine had he continued to ignore the fact that you existed, but life isn’t quite that lucky now is it?
It all started in your Honors Composition class. It was a peer-reviewing day for one of the many papers you were supposed to write for the class. Your teacher had assigned the way you were supposed to review. You, sitting in the front row with one of your best friends, were to send your paper to said best friend, Yeji, and the student behind you for comments. The papers you would get to review were Yeji’s and, since no one sat in front of you, you got the paper from the student in the very back of your row. That student was none other than Kim Taehyung.
It would’ve been fine had that been the extent of your interaction. Nothing more than him emailing you his paper, you suggest edits, he fixes them and you're done. He, however, was not happy with your suggestions.
“Really? Comments on almost all of my sentences?”
Your head popped up at his voice that came from the back of the room. Yeji glanced over at you with her eyebrows furrowed.
“I just commented on what I noticed,” You threw back over your shoulder without turning around and seeing the mischievous grin that appeared on his face at your words. Your face flushed slightly at the “oohs” that filled the classroom. What you also didn’t see was the way he leaned back in his chair and started chewing a piece of gum, watching you from his seat.
The tense silence that followed made everyone uncomfortable. Yeji looked over at you and furrowed her eyebrows again to which you shrugged. You didn't do anything you wouldn't do with anyone else. You do the same on your closest friends' papers too. Sure, sometimes it makes them annoyed, but they know that’s just how you are. You are passionate about writing and you like to help those around you. However, not everyone knew that about you. Least of all Kim Taehyung.
You could hear the smirk in his voice when he said, “You just happened to notice all of this.”
“Yeah,” you shrugged and tried to not make it obvious how nervous you were starting to feel.
“Alright, that’s enough, Taehyung. Work on your revisions and edits, please.” Your teacher stepped in. You briefly looked over to her and bowed your head which she returned with a smile.
That was only the beginning of your problems with Taehyung.
Every class was like pulling teeth. You tried so hard to get your work done and yet were always struggling because he was constantly bugging you. Asking meaningless questions like, “If I eat myself, will I get twice as big or disappear completely?” for the sole purpose of bothering you.
Now usually people in this situation would tell the person off immediately, right? Not you. You have the habit of not saying what you need to in favor of other people. On top of Taehyung constantly bothering you, you haven’t been happy in your choir class lately. Where that class used to bring you joy and let you unleash a different side of yourself through singing, now there’s only annoyance and frustration. The other students in your voice part have always kind of stuck away from talking to you because you’re quiet and reserved, lately, it’s been even worse. Making comments that have the slight undertone of undermining your abilities and making you feel a bit excluded is part of it. Which leads you to the situation you’re in now.
You’re sitting in your study hall class studying for your next test in Sociology when Taehyung starts with the nonsensical questions again.
“Hey, Y/N, does it take 18 months for twins to be born?”
You could hear the smirk on his face, he knew what he was doing. He was only trying to get a rise out of you and you were determined to not let him get to you. At first, you tried just tuning him out. It was the simplest way to just keep going and you had hoped it would work. Until…
“Do you know how far it is to drive from Miami to Florida?”
You sighed and tried to keep in your frustration as you responded with gritted teeth, “I don’t know, why don’t you go find out?”
Finally, you had thought he was done until he asked, “Do you think NASA invented thunderstorms to cover up the sound of space battles?”
“For fucks sake, Taehyung! Leave me alone, oh my god!” You whisper-yelled when you turned to face him, with tears in your eyes from your frustration, “it’s already bad enough that it feels like everyone in choir hates me, I really don’t need this from you right now.”
He scoffed and rolled his eyes, even though you thought you saw a hint of concern somewhere in there. His next words seemed to negate any hope you had of that being true, however.
“It was just a couple of jokes, lighten up.”
You let out a slow, deep breath, “I shouldn’t have to ‘lighten up’, Taehyung. Maybe you should just stop being a bother.”
You stood up and left the classroom to step into the hallway for a breather. When you felt overwhelmed like this, you’d learned how to handle yourself. Beforehand, you’d get yourself worked up and start crying from all of the pent-up frustration and society doesn’t want to handle a crying girl. So you did what you could. You leaned against the lockers in the hallway to ground yourself with the cool sensation through your thin t-shirt, you focused your eyes on the ceiling to keep the tears that had just started brimming at bay, and you focused on your breathing.
Just when your breathing started stabilizing, you heard the classroom door open.
“Y/N?”
You furrowed your eyebrows, “Taehyung? What are you doing?”
You watched Taehyung shift on his feet and bounce his eyes from your own down to the ground. You’d never seen this side of him. He seemed so vulnerable with his shoulders slightly hunched forward and his head lowered.
“‘m sorry,” he said in what was almost a whisper. It really shocked you because you were not expecting any sort of apology to come from him.
“Uh, thank you, I guess. I’m sorry, too. I shouldn’t have called you a bother. That was rude of me.”
“I deserved it.” He added quietly like he genuinely believed it was true.
You looked at his vulnerable state in confusion. Was this really the same guy that was just throwing around jokes to purposefully get a reaction from you? The cocky jerk who was known to be the biggest nuisance by everyone was now apologizing to you while looking like a scared little boy? Something didn’t sit right. How did that guy go to this one all from you calling him out and calling him a bother? Not only that but genuinely believing it’s true instead of making another joke out of it?
While your initial instinct was to make a joke out of it to get him back, something told you otherwise. You took a small step closer to him and you watched him tense slightly and flinch subtly which raised another red flag, before you said, “You didn’t deserve it. No one deserves to be called a bother. Not even you.”
You heard his breathing hitch very quietly and, though you could just barely see it, he began rapidly blinking which you assumed to be his way of holding back tears. You could see he needed a moment alone with the way he averted his gaze to the side.
“I’ll be in the classroom,” you told him before giving him his space.
You sat in the classroom wondering when he was going to come back inside. It kept you distracted from studying, but you couldn’t help wondering. Why did he act like that? Were you overthinking or was there really more going on behind the scenes?
When Taehyung finally returned to the classroom, there was barely enough time to get a single word out before the bell rang and he hightailed it out of there. The rest of the day in all of the classes you two shared, he actively ignored you and acted like the tough know-it-all everyone else knew. Nothing like the scared boy you saw previously.
You caught yourself watching him a few times in your classes, observing his behavior to see if you could spot any other signs of something wrong. Occasionally, Taehyung would meet your eyes and it unnerved you to see no sign of that scared boy, only this persona he created. You wondered how long he could keep it up.
The next day at school, you ran into him heading to class when he pulled you aside into one of the stairwells.
“Hey, don’t mention yesterday to anyone,” Taehyung said with a stony face, leaving you incapable of reading him.
“Taehyung-”
“Y/N, please.” You could hear a tint of desperation lace his words, slipping through the cracks of his mask of a persona.
You sighed, knowing you had no plan to go around talking about his secrets anyway.
“It’s not like I was even planning on telling anyone anyway. I don’t go around spilling everyone’s secrets for my own benefit. But just so you know, you asking me to not tell anyone about what I noticed is only fueling my suspicions.”
He scoffed at you, “And what would you know?”
“You’d be surprised, Taehyung. You’re not the only one with hidden problems.”
And with that, you turned and walked on to your class, not catching the look of slight regret that crossed his features.
Just like that, you were on his radar and he on yours. You never actively went out of your way to interact or hang out, it just ended up happening coincidentally. Your best friend, Yeji, asked if you were interested in going to the bowling alley with a couple more friends. It was a Friday night and you didn’t have to get up early for anything so you agreed.
You hadn’t been expecting the group of six to include Taehyung.
When you spotted him, Yeji made her way over to you.
“I’m sorry. Jimin asked about bringing another friend. I wasn’t expecting that friend to be Taehyung either. I can ask him to leave if you want,” Yeji offered. While you knew her heart was in the right place, you couldn’t let her do that just because you felt a little awkward around the guy.
You rested a hand on her shoulder, “It’s alright, Yeji. Let me just get my shoes and I’ll meet you guys over there.”
She nodded and returned to the group of six. While you were very close with Yeji and now knew Taehyung, you hadn’t really talked much to the others. Joshua and Jeonghan were the only two you even vaguely knew because of a class the three of you shared. You did recognize Wooyoung and Chungha to be the lead dancer of the dance team and cheer captain respectively, though you had never really spoken to either of them.
While you were slightly worried about how the night was going to go, you were actually pleasantly surprised. Not only did you get along with the whole group really well considering your introversion, but you also found out you and Taehyung actually had a considerable amount in common. You both continued to find the same things hilarious which mostly consisted of Wooyoung talking shit about different teachers with Jeonghan offhandedly suggesting ways of payback.
You also had the same food preferences, both favoring the nachos over the other options the bowling alley had to offer. Taehyung even offered to share some with you so you didn’t have to buy your own.
While Yeji and Joshua were talking animatedly about the last football game, which you admitted to not having been there, your phone began to ring. Excusing yourself from the group, you answered.
“Hello?”
“Hey, baby. How’s it going with your friends?” your mom answered.
“It’s good! I didn’t actually know most of them that well and there was one guy I wasn’t expecting to really get along with, but it’s gone really well so far!”
You could practically hear your mom’s smile, “Good! I’m glad you’re having fun!”
“Me too! So did you need something or were you just checking in?”
“Actually, your dad went to grandma and grandpa’s house again and I have to pick your sister up from work since her car is out of commission right now. Do you think one of your friends would be able to bring you home after?”
“Yeah, I can ask. I’ll let you know when I find out.”
“Okay, baby, have fun!”
“Will do!”
You hung up your phone and when you turned to return to the group, Taehyung was the only one left at the table. You furrowed your eyebrows before walking back.
“Where did everyone else go?”
“Arcade. Joshua wanted to prove to Jeonghan that he could beat him in the punch bag game, I think?”
“You’re done, Jeonghan!” You heard from the direction of the arcade.
Both you and Taehyung laughed at the group before he turned to look at you again.
“Everything okay? You look like you’re thinking.”
“Huh? Oh, I just have to ask Yeji about giving me a ride home after we’re done here. Both my parents are gonna be busy around that time.”
“I could do it.” You looked a little hesitant, so he continued, “I heard Yeji say she was gonna go spend the night with Ryujin after our game is over. I could take you home if you’re comfortable with that.”
You looked between him and the arcade where Yeji currently was standing in between Wooyoung and Chungha watching Joshua, “Sure, thank you. I appreciate that. So...how have you been?”
“Y/N…”
You sighed, “Taehyung, after we talked last, I’ve been worried about you. You don’t have to tell me specifics if you don’t want to, but I just want to know if you’re okay, like genuinely.”
You were hopeful that Taehyung wouldn’t shut you down again. In fact, looking at him, you could see him fighting with himself over telling you or shutting you out. Just when you thought he was going to open up to you, you watched the walls build back up and his eyes lost sparkle.
“I’m fine.”
You sighed and nodded. You didn’t believe him in the slightest and you were sure he knew it with the way he immediately redirected to the rest of the group returning from the arcade.
With just the look she gave you, you knew Yeji suspected something just happened.
“Hey Y/N, I have to go to the bathroom, come with me,” Yeji said while already pulling you towards the bathroom.
“That’s a thing? Girls actually go to the bathroom together like that?”
“Wooyoung…”
“What? It’s a valid question!”
Ignoring Wooyoung and Chungha’s conversation, you and Yeji entered the bathroom. Once the door was closed, she spun around and studied your face.
“What just happened to you two?”
You sighed and closed your eyes. You took a moment to figure out how to explain without spilling what Taehyung had already explicitly asked you to keep a secret, but it was difficult. You did what you could to explain to the best of your ability.
“I’m worried about Taehyung. I know how odd that sounds, all things considered, but something happened the other day and now I can’t stop worrying.”
Yeji furrowed her eyebrows, “What happened? You just told me he was annoying and then apologized.”
“Yeah, I know. I didn’t tell you everything because Taehyung asked me to keep a part of it secret. That in itself makes me worry more and I don’t even know how to help him.”
You let out a sigh before leaning against the sink counter. Dropping your head into your hands, you felt Yeji’s arms wrap around your shoulders.
“Babe, I’ve known Taehyung for a little bit now and I’ve never noticed anything wrong. I’m not saying that to discredit anything you’re saying. I think if he’s let down his guard enough for you to see something that makes you worry, there’s some amount of trust there whether he realizes it or not.”
You took Yeji’s words to heart. Very rarely would anyone let down their guard like that and appear that vulnerable. Even if you were confused as to why Taehyung had picked you to see that. Yeji was right, wasn’t she? There had to be some form of trust there for some reason. You just had no idea why it was there.
“I think...I think I want to get to know him better. I want to be his friend and someone he trusts. I want to be there for him. There’s something wrong, something that’s affecting him, I can feel it. I want to help him.”
Yeji cupped your cheeks and kissed your forehead, “And that is why I love you so much. You have such a big heart and you want to help anyone that’s struggling. Now, are you feeling a bit better? I can take you home if that’s what you’d rather do.”
When you shook your head and told her otherwise, Yeji relented and after actually going to the bathroom, you both returned to the group. It felt a little awkward at first, but Wooyoung’s chaoticness and Jeonghan and Joshua playing along was bound to crack you and Taehyung up again, killing the tension over time. It wasn’t easy to ignore the voice in your head pressing for information to help Taehyung, but it slowly got quieter until it was just a mere whisper overpowered by your enjoyment.
As the evening winded down and after Wooyoung got his ass handed to him in bowling, it was time to head home. Ever the caring friend she was, Yeji made sure to check and make sure to ask if you had a ride. You opened your mouth to answer but stopped short of words. Did you? Did Taehyung still feel comfortable giving you a ride after what happened earlier?
Turning your head to glance at him, his attention stayed on Yeji when he answered for you, “I’m taking her home, no worries.”
Yeji looked shocked, to say the least. She gave you a look saying “You better explain this to me later” before actually saying, “Okay, text me when you get home so I know you made it safely.”
“Will do, babe. Tell Ryujin I said hi!” You said with a wiggle of your eyebrows.
Yeji’s face flushed as she meekly nodded and headed out to her car. You laughed a bit and waved as the rest of the group departed as well, leaving you and Taehyung by yourselves. The air felt awkward between you, but not as awkward as it had been before.
As you climbed into Taehyung's car, he said, “I need your address so I know where I’m going.”
You flushed a little in embarrassment at forgetting that key detail. Once you gave him your address, he set off out of the bowling alley parking lot.
Even while heading home, you couldn’t stop thinking of the conversations you had with Taehyung and Yeji. Clearly, you weren’t hiding it as well as you thought you were because Taehyung noticed it almost immediately.
“Do you smell smoke?”
“Smoke?” you asked worriedly.
“Yeah, you’re thinking too hard. It’s smoking up my car.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t hide the small smile stretching across your face. You looked down at your hands deciding whether to be honest and explain what you were thinking about or to drop the subject entirely.
You chose the former.
“I’m sorry about earlier, Taehyung. I didn’t mean to push you in a corner as I did. You don’t have to tell me anything if you’re not comfortable. I do want to be friends though. Before you think I’m taking pity on you or whatever, I want you to know that I genuinely want to be your friend. We seem to have a lot of similar interests and we both found Wooyoung and Jeonghan’s jokes funny which definitely takes a certain kind of humor.” Taehyung let out a laugh at that, “But I’m serious. I want to be a friend and someone you can trust.”
A silence fell over the car for a short moment. Neither of you said anything as you had nothing left to say while Taehyung was still processing your words.
He let out a staggered breath, “Thank you. It’s not something I have an easy time talking about but I do want to be friends. I don’t have many of those, real ones anyway. Maybe someday I’ll be able to tell you.”
“It’s okay if you don’t,” you started wringing your fingers anxiously, “you don’t owe me anything.”
Taehyung looked like he was going to respond, but he ended up not saying anything. Nodding his head instead as you pointed towards your house.
“This is me. Um, do you, maybe, want to hang out again? I have family plans tomorrow, but what about the day after that?”
Tae thought for a second before a small smile etched across his face, “Sure, just text me when.”
You nodded and said your goodbyes before heading inside. Flopping down on your bed, you thought about the whole evening. You were still worried about Taehyung, but now that he was open to being friends, you felt like you could keep a better eye on him.
Just as your eyes started to close, you felt your phone start continuously going off with messages from Yeji (and Ryujin) asking for explanations. Then you got a facetime call from them. Well, this was going to be a long night.
***
Things between you and Tae just continued to get better. A month later, you guys hang out a lot. Sometimes at the library to study or to help Taehyung with his writing, sometimes you two just find a park to visit and chill. Yeji has even made jokes to the two of you that Taehyung is replacing her to which you always assure her that she will always be your wife and first love.
You never push Taehyung to talk about his home life again and you can tell he’s appreciative. When you see him in your first class and see that he's really down or cautious with the way he moves his body, though you really want to ask, you don’t. Instead, you just talk to him and try to cheer him up. Sometimes you even ask him some nonsensical questions like the ones he used to ask you all of the time. You always consider it a win once you finally manage to draw out a small smile.
However, Taehyung’s not the only one with a rough home life. You told him as much a month ago when he confronted you and you never let on how much everything is affecting you after that, especially when he’s around. After the night you had though? There was no hiding anything from anyone when you had to go to school the next day.
You walked into your first class, sat in the same spot next to Taehyung, and laid your head down. All the crying from the night before had done a number on your brain and it felt like it was about to pound right out of your skull. Of course, you took medicine before leaving the house but it was taking longer than usual to kick in.
Luckily, your first class found you doing relatively nothing so you sat in your seat scrolling through your phone mindlessly. It wouldn’t have taken a genius to know something was wrong. That was exactly why you watched Taehyung approach your teacher, talk to her, and then lead you out of the classroom and into the hallway.
“Y/N, what’s going on?”
As soon as those words left his mouth, you broke down. You couldn’t hold onto the emotions anymore and the tears came like a dam had broken. Taehyung surged forward without even thinking and wrapped his arms around your trembling frame. He turned so that he was blocking you from the sight of anyone who happened to be in the hallway.
You had just started calming down and opened your mouth to explain what your breakdown was about when a fresh wave of tears broke loose and you were reduced to sobs once again.
“Take your time, it’s okay. It’s gonna be okay.”
You tried to focus on Taehyung’s breathing from where your head rested on his chest, working to match your breathing to his. You were also grounding yourself by focusing on Taehyung’s hand that was resting on your back and his thumb rubbing calming circles
Once you were sure you weren’t going to lose it again, you explained it all. You told him all about how your dad had moved out last night, how he said he hated the house and didn’t want to be there, how your sister went inside the talk to him, how she let out a blood-curdling scream when he stepped out the door, how that scream kept replaying in your head 24/7 since it happened.
“Do you hear it right now?”
You tried to answer him, but you couldn’t verbalize it. You didn’t have to though with the way your body was still trembling and your breath hitched at the question. Your eyes teared up again and you nuzzled farther into his chest. Only a moment later, you felt Taehyung clear his throat before a deep, rich voice started singing.
“Where’s my angel?
The end of a tiring day
Someone come and save me, please
Is overshadowed by a sigh”
You pulled back just enough to look up at him with teary eyes as he continued singing. He wouldn’t meet your eyes and you could see his cheeks tinted a little in embarrassment. Your lips wobbled into a smile before you tucked your head back into Taehyung’s chest. You felt the way his chest resonated as he sang every word. You were almost lulled to sleep by his soothing voice.
When he finished singing the song, you could tell he felt a little awkward and didn’t know what to do now. So you helped him out a little bit.
You pulled back and met his wary gaze, “Thank you Taehyung, seriously.”
“It was nothing,” he shrugged nonchalantly like you couldn’t see his blazing cheeks, “and I’m sorry for what I said back then. About you not understanding shitty households?”
You wiped away some excess tears, “Don’t worry about it, I knew you didn’t mean it.”
“How?”
“...your eyes. You didn’t look as angry as you did scared and defensive.”
“Oh.”
You saw Taehyung’s eyes get wide and how his body tensed. You hated seeing him so afraid and uncomfortable so you decided to change the topic.
“Um, can you tell Mrs. Matthews that I went to the bathroom? I’m gonna clean up a little before heading back.”
“Sure.” Tae looked relieved as he started to head back towards the classroom door.
You debated with yourself on whether you should say what was on your mind before muttering a small, “Screw it”
“Tae!” He turned around and looked at you with a shocked expression. Not only was he not expecting you to call out to him, but you had also never called him anything other than his full name.
“Yeah?”
“You have an absolutely beautiful voice,” you said after quickly glancing at him once and looking away.
You finally looked back up at Taehyung and amusedly watched him try to hold back his smile before he awkwardly said, “Thanks.” and walked into the classroom.
A few weeks later, you and Taehyung were watching a movie at his place while his family was out of town again when your phone went off three times in a row.
You didn’t know why, but a small part of you felt hurt. You knew there was no reason to feel hurt because it’s not like the two of you were together or anything. Taehyung was allowed to do whatever he wanted, you had no control over who he met up with. So why did you feel this way?
Deep down, you knew why, but you elected to ignore it. You would rather stay in denial than face that rejection after finally getting close to Taehyung.
That small part of you that knew, however, won out.
“Hey, Tae? What is this?”
You flipped your phone around and showed him Ryujin’s tweet. You watched his eyes widen with a look of fear.
“Y/N, that’s not me, I swear.”
That small part of you deflated in relief at his genuine words but the rest of you tried to cover it up.
“You know it’s okay if it is, right? We’re just friends so I don’t know why everyone is making such a big deal out of it.”
As soon as the words left your mouth and you saw what you thought might’ve been a dejected look on Taehyung’s face, you instantly regretted it. Whether he was upset or not, he quickly covered it up much as you had.
A small (fake) smile appeared on his face, “Right, friends.”
Sensing the awkward tension but choosing to ignore that as well, you directed your attention back to your phone to text Yeji back.
After talking to Yeji and now having that small part of your brain getting considerably louder, you changed the topic and jumped into a heated debate over the movie, effectively ignoring your thoughts for a little longer.
For the next month, you didn’t really have any time to dwell on what happened. Not only was it nearing finals season, but you were also learning new songs for your Christmas concert coming up. You were focused on so many other things that you hadn’t really hung out with anyone lately, not even Yeji.
Taehyung had decided that he didn’t want to wait another day to spend some time with you.
Catching you before you left the last class you two shared, he asked, “Hey, what are you doing after school today?”
“I have a rehearsal for the choir concert, I’m sorry. I might be free sometime next week?” You suggested shyly. You felt bad for being too busy to hang out with anyone, but you didn’t know where you could fit in time for it.
Taehyung hesitated, “What if I took you home after your rehearsal?”
That took you by surprise as was evident with the way your eyes widened.
“Oh. Um, you’d have to wait out in the lobby of the auditorium until we were done. If you don’t want to wait that long, you don’t have to. I’ll understand.”
“Hey,” You looked back up at Tae’s eyes, “I wouldn’t have offered it if I didn’t want to. I want to spend time with you.”
There was that little voice again. Only this time it was trying to tell you Taehyung felt the same so you pushed it back.
Instead, you let out a small smile, “Okay, I would appreciate that.”
So you and Tae walked down to the auditorium where he sat on one of the benches in the lobby while you headed into the theater.
It was probably about 45 minutes later when your choir director released everyone from the rehearsal. You had practiced all of your songs and fixed parts that weren’t lining up. You learned the standing order and where to sit when you weren’t performing and all that was left was to pick up your things and head to meet Taehyung.
So, you did just that. Walking out into the lobby, you looked over to where he had been before your rehearsal only to see the bench vacant. Confused, you began looking around. There weren’t many places for him to go as it was a pretty open area and most of the doors were locked after school.
You walked around the box office where there was a more secluded area and found him. You lost your breath at seeing him so broken down. He looked like a kicked child with the way he had his knees tucked to his chest, arms wrapped around them, and his head on his knees.
It was an immediate response, the way you called his name gently to avoid spooking him too much. He looked up at you with his red-rimmed eyes, tear tracks littering his face. That was all it took for you to drop your things and cross over to him.
Sitting down, you wrapped your arms around his trembling body and just held him as he cried. You didn’t say anything, he didn’t try to either, you just sat there together. He left his arms wrapped around his legs but laid his head on your shoulder. When you laid your head on top of his, you did exactly what he did when the roles were reversed. You sang.
“Imagine your face
Say hello to me
'Til all the bad days
They're nothing to me
With you
Winter Bear”
Eventually, his sobs slowed until only his breathing staggered. He finally released his legs before running his hands across his eyes, clearing the tears as best he could. He finally mustered the courage to look at your questioning eyes, nodding to say he was ready to go. As much as you didn’t want to, you let go of Taehyung to grab your backpack and follow him to his car.
Once inside, he breathed deeply once more before starting out of the parking lot.
“Did that have something to do with your home life?”
“That place is not my home. It’s just a house.” Taehyung replied coldly.
You sighed, “All the more reason for me to worry. I take it that’s a yes?”
“Y/N…”
“Tae, something’s going on and I’m worried about you. I can’t help you if you don’t talk to me. I want to help and take care of my friends and I consider you a friend now, so that includes you.”
He pursed his lips before darting his tongue out to wet them, “There’s nothing you can do.”
“That’s not true. I can be there for you. Even more than I am now.” You sighed, “I can tell you’re suffering, I just want you to know that you can talk to me. You don’t have to go through whatever it is alone.”
If you weren’t mistaken, you saw Tae quickly wipe from under his eyes again and you briefly wondered if it was because of what you had said. He made it apparent that he wasn’t planning on keeping the conversation going by turning the music up. Sighing, you began humming to the music he was playing and watched the world pass by through the windows.
A moment later, Taehyung was pulling into your driveway. As you thanked him for bringing you home, you caught the fake smile he was giving you. It wasn’t completely fake as there was still some genuineness to it. You could just tell that there was also some worry hidden behind his features.
“Thanks again for the ride, Tae,” You said to him after you collected your backpack. Standing with the door open, you watched his facade slip for a moment. It broke your heart with how distraught he looked. His eyes were puffy from crying, his face was a bit blotchy; you couldn’t not do something.
“Actually, would you like to come inside for dinner? I’m sure my mom wouldn’t mind, she loves it when she gets to meet my friends.”
After a moment of thought (and bouncing back and forth between looking hopeful and worried), Tae replied sarcastically, “Well, it doesn’t seem like I have a choice, now do I? You weren’t going to take no for an answer, were you?”
You pretended to consider his question, “Nope, absolutely not. Come on.”
Your worries increased for a moment seeing Taehyung retrieve his phone, sending a text with shaky hands before turning the device’s do not disturb and airplane mode features on and pocketing it. Taking the keys out of the ignition, Tae got out of his car and rounded towards you. Ever the gentleman he refuses to let anyone see, he took your heavy backpack for you, following you inside.
Once the door to the garage was open, you could smell dinner being made, and your mouth watered. The smell of samgyeopsal, tteokbokki, and japchae permeated the house. Once you both were up the stairs leading to the garage, you took your backpack from Taehyung with another word of thanks before setting it where it usually is.
“Hi, mom, we’re home!”
Ever the observer, your mom immediately noticed the “we” you used and turned to look at you. Upon seeing that you weren’t alone, she turned the heat down on the stove to simmer before approaching you.
She said hi to you and kissed your forehead before turning her attention to your guest curiously, “And who might you be? I’ve adopted all of Y/N’s friends and I don’t remember meeting you before.”
Taehyung held out his hand, “My name’s Taehyung, we’ve never met before. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Likewise, Taehyung. Will you be joining us for dinner?”
“If that’s alright? Y/N didn’t really give me much of a choice,” he said, though everyone knew that you would’ve respected his wishes if he didn’t want to stay.
Your mom smiled at him as she returned to work on cooking dinner, “Of course that’s alright! So how did you two meet?”
You laughed softly at the question. You looked at Taehyung as if asking him if he wanted to explain it. When he gestured for you to answer, you did so.
“We actually have most of our classes together. The only one we don’t share is choir. One of the first days of Honors Comp, I had to peer edit his essay and he kind of got annoyed with me--”
“In my defense, you had over 30 edits on my paper!”
You pouted teasingly at Tae, “I was just helping! But after that,” you continued explaining to your mom, “he made it his mission to annoy the hell out of me! It did make me upset at the time and we didn’t get along for a while after that but after bowling with Yeji and the others, I think that’s when it started turning around.”
While your mom was waiting for a timer to go off, she had turned around to look at you while you spoke. She was watching the interaction between you and Taehyung and you could tell she really liked Taehyung. When you said he used to annoy you and he lowered his head slightly in embarrassment, your mom cracked a smile at him.
After you finished, she looked to Taehyung and grinned teasingly at him, “So what I’m hearing is you wanted Y/N’s attention, is that right?”
“Mom!” you said at the same time Tae’s balked.
Your mom pulled out the other seat at the table as the timer still hadn’t gone off. She placed her hand down on the table in front of Taehyung saying, “I’m just teasing Taehyung-ssi. Sometimes I like to annoy her for fun too, she’s pretty used to it.”
“She’s not wrong,” you laughed, “My little brother makes it his mission to be as annoying as possible. He’s always doing things just to get on my nerves, way worse than anyone else ever has.”
You could tell that helped him feel a little better and the conversation turned in another direction. Your mom asked about Tae’s interests and it occurred to you that you hadn’t asked those kinds of questions.
“I actually enjoy photography, I just don’t show it off very often.”
Your mom smiled slightly at the shocked look on your face, “If you don’t mind, could I see some of your pictures?”
Taehyung was shocked at someone actually being interested in his photos if the way his cheeks turned a little rosy and he chuckled a little nervously had anything to do with it. He picked up his phone and searched through his photos until he found what he wanted to show and handed the phone to your mom. You watched her eyes widen as she looked at the folder of photos. She would’ve looked at more but the timer for dinner finally went off.
She handed Taehyung his phone back with a small knowing smile as she said, “These are amazing, Taehyung-ssi. You’re very talented!”
Before Taehyung could lock his phone, you spoke up, “Can I see?”
He looked back at you shocked, but not as shocked as he was when your mom asked. He nodded a little bashfully and handed the phone over again.
As you looked through the photos, your jaw dropped farther and farther. You were completely surprised that Taehyung had taken these with his phone camera. They looked like professional photos. When you scrolled to the photo nearing the end, your eyebrows rose a little. You were sure you weren’t supposed to see that one as it was a photo of you during one of your outings together. You were in the middle of laughing, but it wasn’t the typical unattractive laughing photo. It was like he knew the perfect second to take it. You had mostly stopped laughing and were giggling while smiling so big. The wind from the park you had visited was captured softly blowing through your hair. Within seconds, you had found your favorite picture of yourself.
Though you felt like you had looked at that specific picture for multiple minutes, it had only been a handful of seconds. You swiped back to the last photo before handing the phone back so that you wouldn’t make Taehyung uncomfortable if he knew you had seen it.
“So Taehyung-ssi, have you ever thought about pursuing photography further than just a hobby?”
Tae’s eyebrows rose, “Ahh, you’re too kind, Mrs. Y/L/N. I have thought about it, but I can’t do that.”
While your mom was currently distracted by making food, you whispered, “Because of who you live with?”
You watched how he blinked a few times and clenched his jaw before nodding curtly.
“Well, what is it that you really dream of doing, Taehyung-ssi?” Your mom spoke up.
Tae hesitates before letting out a shaky sigh and glancing over to you quickly before his eyes are back on your mom “I want to model and be a photographer.”
Your eyebrows raise and your eyes soften. You never expected that to be his answer. Sure he definitely had the looks for it (you weren’t blind), and he had the talent too. Before you could ask or your mom could comment, her phone rang. She answered and you didn’t want to disturb her so you gestured up the stairs at your mom.
After she nodded, you cocked your head while looking at Tae and said quietly, “Let’s go upstairs.”
Tae followed you up and into the first room on the right. While you entered and sat on your bed, Tae stood awkwardly near the doorway.
“You can sit, Tae. It’s okay,” You said gently, figuring there was something personal there, “I hope I don’t come off as pushy, that’s the last thing I want. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want, but why can’t you pursue modeling and photography? You’d be amazing at both”
A mischievous smirk appeared on Taehyung’s face, definitely masking his real feelings, “Are you saying I’m good-looking?”
Your eyes, filled with emotions, leveled him, “Taehyung.”
“Fine. If I go to college for either of those, my foster parents won’t pay for my tuition and I definitely don’t have that much so…”
“Foster parents? They don’t treat you very well, do they?”
“Them and the ones in the other four places I’ve been”
“Tae…” Your heart broke for the man in front of you. While your heart was slowly falling to pieces, he chuckled.
“Yeah, I know, the classic damaged tough guy trope fits me to a T, doesn’t it? Keeps all his walls up and once people find out just how damaged he is, they laugh and leave. Now, do you understand why I didn’t want to talk about it? You’ll probably just leave li-“
“Yah, Kim Taehyung” you interrupted with teary eyes. Sitting forward and resting your hand over his intertwined ones, “I don’t know what kind of people you’ve had around you all your life, but they clearly were not the right ones. I would never ever leave you over something like this. If anything, it just makes me want to keep you even closer, to protect you and make sure you’re okay. Do you have a way out?”
“...what?”
You furrowed your eyebrows before you understood. He had never, or at least very rarely, had anyone genuinely concerned about him. It had to be a mystery to him, the fact that you weren’t kicking him out of your house or anything. Instead, you got closer to him, worried about him, cared for him. That would confuse anyone in his position.
Sitting forward once again, you carefully placed a hand on his shoulder before moving it up to his cheek, “Tae, I’m not leaving you and I never plan to. You’re stuck with me now. Even if no one else will, I’ll care about you. I’ll worry about you while you’re stuck in awful situations. That’s why I asked if you had a way out. I want you to be safe.”
Taehyung’s tears were streaming down his face, his face crumpled in emotion. He reached his arms out and you pulled him in for a hug as he broke down.
While he cried, you reassured him, “There are people who care about you, Tae. I care about you so much, my mom cares and she only just met you, Yeji cares, so does everyone else we went bowling with. There are always going to be people for you to lean on and talk to.”
“My birthday,” Tae muttered after his crying had subsided, “I turn eighteen on the 30th of December which means I’m technically free of them that day. I just need to find a place to live so I’m not on the streets somewhere.”
You moved your hand up to lace through his hair, “We’ll figure something out, I promise. You don’t have to go through this alone anymore.”
A couple of stray tears fell down Taehyung’s face. While wiping them away, you realized how tired and exhausted he looked. You led him to lie down with you and while you laid your head on his chest, you stretched your arm to lay over his stomach. Tae flinched and groaned at your hand grazing his right side.
You sat up quickly, already with an idea in mind of what caused the reaction, “Tae? Can I see?”
After a moment of hesitation, you watch him nod with an almost ashamed expression. At that, you lifted up only the side of his shirt, not wanting to invade and see anything else he wasn’t comfortable with. Your eyes met a day-old, fist-sized bruise. Gently lowering his shirt, you turned to look at him again.
Placing your hand back on his cheek again, “I’m gonna go get you some ice and some pain killers, okay? I’ll be right back. I’m not leaving you, promise.”
Smoothing your thumb over his cheekbone, you stood and headed downstairs. Your mom was still cooking dinner when you got there.
“Hey, baby, what are you doing?”
You hesitated, “I can’t exactly tell you. I’d have to make sure it’s okay with Tae first, but can you get a couple of ibuprofen and some water?”
“Course,” She handed them to you as you finished wrapping a cloth around the bag of ice, “I hope it helps.”
When you returned to your room, Tae quietly thanked you. He downed the painkillers with a mouthful of water before he laid back down. When you sat on your bed, you reached over and gently rested the ice pack on his side. He flinched once before finding comfort in the cold aid.
“Um…Y/N?”
“Yeah?”
“Will you...lie down next to me again like you were before?”
You glanced at his shy face and held back a smile. Nodding, you laid back, resting your head on his chest and leaving your hand in place to hold the ice pack.
“You don’t deserve to have to deal with people like that.”
Nearly 20 minutes later, you and Taehyung awoke to your mom shaking your legs that were hanging off the bed. If she saw the bruise, she didn’t pry.
“Y/N, Taehyung-ssi, wake up. Dinner’s ready.”
Once you both were awake, however awkward it may have been, Tae froze when your mom said, “Come on kiddos, it’s time to eat.”
“What did you say?” Tae asked the same way he had when you told him you weren’t going to leave him. He couldn’t believe it.
“Come on kiddos, it’s time to eat?” She asked, confused.
While your mom didn’t catch on, you did. His shock wasn’t at the fact that it was time to eat. You couldn’t imagine anyone had ever called him “kiddo” before.
“We’ll be right down, mom.”
She nodded before exiting your room, giving Tae a chance to catch his breath.
“My mom likes to say she basically adopts all of my friends. Once she meets them, they’re her kids too. You’re no different,” You thumb away a tear that you don’t think Taehyung even noticed had fallen, “Come on. Let’s go eat.”
Tae met you with a big, boxy smile that you had never seen before when nodding.
“You have a really beautiful smile, Tae.”
He lowered his head a little as you both headed down the stairs before muttering a small, “Thank you.”
Tae and you sat around the kitchen table after getting your food. Though you don’t usually, you both sat at the kitchen table with your mom and brother to eat. Usually, the three of you desert to the living room to watch a tv show or a movie while eating, but your mom already wanted to get to know Taehyung, and sitting around a table helped with that.
The conversation flowed naturally with Tae only in the spotlight a couple of times. Even if your mom didn’t know what difficulties plagued Taehyung, she could tell there were boundaries. She didn’t know exactly where those boundaries were, per se, so she tiptoed and avoided more personal subjects. Taehyung was very clearly thankful for that by the way he gradually relaxed and opened up. His posture changed as he sat up straighter and opened up his chest, leaning forward to make his points. There was a whole new aura of confidence surrounding him and it was unlike anything you’d seen previously from him.
Once everyone had finished their food, your brother escaped back to the computer while Tae offered to help your mom with the dishes.
“You’re too sweet, Taehyung-ssi. I can handle the dishes, but maybe I’ll let you help the next time you come over.”
The already small smile that had found a home on Taehyung’s face only grew from there.
“I would love to, Mrs. Y/L/N.”
Once your mom turned her back and went on about washing the dishes, you saw Tae hold his phone up in front of him. He took a deep breath before steeling himself and turning it back on. The influx of text messages he got was overwhelming, even for you. You couldn’t imagine what he must’ve been reading.
“I really need to get going,” Tae said while masking the real emotions he was undoubtedly feeling, “but it was so lovely to meet you all. Thank you so much for the amazing dinner.”
Your mom turned her head to look at the both of you, “Of course, Taehyung-ssi.”
“Please, call me Tae.”
“Tae it is. Feel free to come back any time, sweetheart. It was lovely to have you here.”
Tae visibly fought back a few tears as he nodded with a bright, boxy smile, “Thank you. It was a pleasure to be here tonight. Goodnight, Mrs. Y/L/N.”
“Goodnight Tae.”
You smiled at the wholesome interaction between Tae and your mom before turning towards the former, “I’ll walk you out.”
The walk down the porch stairs to Taehyung’s car was filled with a comfortable silence until Tae reached to open his car door.
“Tae? I wanted to ask you something and you, of course, have the option to say no if you’re not comfortable with it.”
Tae looked a little apprehensive as he rested his arm over the top of his car door, “Okay…what is it?”
“When I went downstairs earlier for the ice and medicine, my mom asked what it was for. I didn’t tell her anything because I wanted to get your permission first. I was just wonde-”
“You can tell her.”
You were shocked at the immediate response, “You’re sure?”
“Y/N, your mom just made me feel like I had an actual family and like I was really wanted for the first time in years. And the fact that she was curious but didn’t try to find out anything? I trust her, you can tell her.”
“That’ll mean a lot to her, that you trust her like that so quickly, I know it will. We’re similar that way…”
Tae easily understood your meaning and with a boost of confidence you shyly asked, “Can I hug you before you go?”
At his bashful nod, you leaned in and wrapped your arms around his waist. You made sure to be very gentle and careful because of the bruise, but also in case, there were more you didn’t know about.
For a moment, you just listened. Your head was resting on Taehyung’s chest and you could hear his heartbeat. It reminded you that he had persevered through everything life had unfairly thrown at him, that he was here and fighting until he was free.
You tightened your arms ever so slightly, “Text me when you get back?”
Tae bitterly laughed, “It might be a while, they’re not happy.”
You almost broke there with the hint of acceptance in his voice. You shook your head against his chest and sniffled a little.
“I don’t mind, I just want to know. I don’t want you to have to suffer alone.”
A silence enveloped the two of you for a moment, just enjoying the familiarity of each other before you pulled away.
“You should go so things aren’t even worse when you get there.”
Tae nodded quietly with his lips pursed. He turned and got into his car, pulling the door shut. Turning the car on, he paused and rolled down his window.
“Seriously Y/N, thank you for today. I haven’t been this happy in a long time.”
You nodded and held back the tears his words brought on, “I’m glad, Tae. Thank you for trusting me.”
“Thank you for being trustworthy.”
After Taehyung leaves, you slowly head back inside to the kitchen. Your mom had finished the dishes and was working on laundry up in her room. You grabbed out your computer and were working on some homework for your class, very poorly though as you were too distracted. You already worried about Tae constantly before knowing his situation and you couldn’t tell which was more difficult. Having no knowledge and being scared for him or knowing what he was going back to after having finally been happy like he said.
You shook your head out of your thoughts. Tae had said he was happy while he was with you and your family, right? You were going to make sure he knew that that kind of happiness he felt would always welcome him when he walked through the door. Even if his foster parents were being the worst they could be, he would always be taken care of and loved once he walked through the front door.
With that thought in mind, you buried yourself in your work. You finished up your work and joined your mom in the living room where she was watching a tv show. You could tell she knew something was up with the way she would look over, no doubt noticing the anticipation and worry on your face. You watched for an episode and a half or so before you heard your phone alert you to a text message.
Immediately, your face lit up in recognition as you grabbed your phone and saw that Taehyung had finally messaged you.
You finally let out a breath of relief before locking your phone and setting it aside. Turning your head towards your mom, you found her already looking at you having paused the tv without your knowledge.
“What’s wrong, baby?”
“Huh? Oh, Tae’s coming over tomorrow after school.”
Your mom furrowed her eyebrows, “Is that a bad thing? You looked really worried.”
You took a deep breath before looking at your lap. You had to take a moment to compose yourself and collect your thoughts. Your mom was already worried enough, you couldn’t back down now.
“That’s not a bad thing. It’s actually a great thing. Earlier, you asked about the ice and medicine…”
And that was how you fell into a crying fest with your mom. You explained all of the signs you had been reading from him for months; The flinching, the fear in his eyes, the defense mechanisms, and others. You told her how you had left rehearsal that very day to see him sobbing on the floor of the lobby and how he closed off almost immediately afterward.
You finally launched into telling her what he had explained to you while you two were in your bedroom and you both let many tears fall. You told her why he was so affected every time she used any term of endearment and how he told you he had finally felt happy for the first time in a long time. Finally, you explained the reason for your mood change after texting Taehyung with what he told you.
As you were talking, you also admitted something to your mom that you hadn’t even fully accepted yourself which drew into a longer conversation. Afterward, your mom gave you a message to relay to Taehyung before he came over the next day.
Once you both were finally calmed down and exhausted after all of the tears, your mom helped you up off of the couch and pulled you into a hug. You both relished in the comfort for a moment before turning off the light and heading to bed. It will be a long and quite emotional day tomorrow.
When tomorrow did come, you caught yourself glancing at Taehyung frequently throughout the day. Every time, he would reassure you with a small nod of his head before focusing back on the lesson.
You even caught some off-handed comments from classmates mentioning after looking at Tae’s split lip how they wouldn’t want to be the other guy. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes and scoff.
If only they knew.
During your sociology class, you and Taehyung were assigned seats next to each other which you were extremely grateful for now. You both were working on an assignment on your laptops when Tae leaned down and reached to grab his notebook from his backpack. You noticed out of the corner of your eye the way he grimaced and his face twisted in pain for a moment.
Grabbing your lunch box, you pulled out a small water bottle and a couple of painkillers.
“Here, I figured you’d probably need these today.”
You couldn’t decipher the emotions on his face as he took the two items from you.
The day continued on with you checking on him and him reassuring you every chance he got. When the bell finally rang signaling the end of the day, you walked out to Tae’s car together and headed to your house. The car ride home was filled with the two of you ridiculously belting out music just as had become your usual. It wasn’t until Taehyung was about to turn off his car and open the door that you stopped him.
“You know how you said I could tell my mom about your situation?”
You watch a flash of fear wash over his face, “...yeah?”
You took a deep breath to steel yourself from crying too early on, “Well I told her last night after you texted me. She wanted me to tell you that you will always be welcome at our house whether it’s because you need to be there or you just want to get away for a bit. The other thing she wanted me to tell you is that after your birthday if you want to, you can move in with us for however long you need. Whether that’s just until you find somewhere else to settle or just until you’re ready to move out. You’re basically already part of the family, why not make it official, you know?” You laughed through your tears that had begun streaming down midway through.
You watched the shock wear off Taehyung as he rested his forehead against the steering wheel. Tears began streaming down his face uncontrollably and you followed close behind. In a moment of clarity through your tears, you undid your seatbelt and reached out for Tae. Pulling him in for a hug, he hid his face in the crook of your neck.
Once your tears slowed, you glanced down at Taehyung who was still crying, but less than he had been. You couldn’t explain how different this Tae was from the one the world knew. At school, he had such a big presence, and everyone either wanted to be him or date him, there wasn’t really an in-between aside from the few people who didn’t know him.
This Tae was drastically different. He frequently tried to make himself as small as possible. He spoke slowly, thinking about every word and being as polite as possible. He used self-deprecating humor but didn’t try to hold back the fact that he believed it all.
Once you noticed he had stopped crying and he went to pull away from you, you gently cupped his face and wiped his tears away. You let your hands fall away, but you both stayed where you were. The tension was thick between the two of you.
You had the urge to make the first move, but before you could, Taehyung cleared his throat and asked, “Do you want to head in? I really want to thank your mom.”
“Yeah, I think she’d like to see you.”
Awkwardly, the two of you got out of his car and headed to the front door. Unlocking your door, you let Taehyung in first. Once you both were inside and had set your backpacks down, Tae followed you to the living room where your mom was.
“Mom, I told Tae what you wanted me to say…” you trailed off as Tae entered behind you.
As soon as Tae saw your mom, he couldn’t hold back the tears that had already begun racing down his cheeks. Standing up, you watched your mom head for Tae and pull him into a hug.
“Thank you. Thank you so much. I don’t even-”
Your mom gently soothed Tae’s crying, “You don’t have to say anything, kiddo. I understand. You’re safe here, Taehyungie.”
Tae nodded frantically before crying some more. Blinking away the tears in your own eyes, you stepped forward to rest your hand on his back to try and offer some comfort to him. Taehyung only responds by pulling an arm away from your mom and wrapping it around your shoulders. Your mom reacted similarly and rested her hand on your back.
“Thank you both. So, so much.”
You smiled and nuzzled further into him, “Of course, Tae.”
Once the three of you finally all pulled away from the hug and were just talking for a moment, your brother came upstairs and into the living room.
You watched him glance between all of you, “What did I miss?”
You all laughed at the situation. You looked to your mom and she led your brother into the other room to explain while you and Tae stayed standing in the middle of the living room.
Similarly, you led Tae to sit next to you on the couch. You both talked about school that day as well as his night last night and what could most possibly happen after he moves in with you.
When a lull in the conversation comes, you take a moment to just look at him. He sat crisscrossed on the middle couch seat. His hands are in his lap, holding onto his phone loosely while his head is leaned back against the back of the couch. Though his cheeks are red and tear-stained and his eyes are a little puffy, the smile on his face shows his relief and happiness. He looks relaxed for the first time in a long time.
“Y/N?”
“Huh? Sorry, did you say something?”
He chuckled, “Yeah, I was just asking if we could watch something. Neither of us have homework so I just thought…”
“Yeah, of course, we can watch something,” turning on the tv, you asked, “Anything in particular?”
He shook his head so you turned on a variety show where the members of a group were dancing to their songs at random tempos. The living room quickly filled with laughter from the two of you as you watched a few of the members mess up here and there. Commenting on the difficulty of the choreography, you both were perfectly distracted until dinner was ready.
Thus creating a new normal for you. From here on out, Taehyung was a constant fixture in the house. Whenever he wasn't at school or sleeping, he was with you and your family. He even got to meet your sister when she came over from her house.
His injuries slowly and gradually happened less and less because of the fact that he was rarely ever with his foster parents. The only times he was ever there was during the nighttime - half the time not even getting back until after they were already asleep - and in the mornings to get ready for school after they had already left for their jobs.
Still, whenever Tae was injured, you always took care of him. You had a few ice packs that were kept in the freezer and the medicine cabinet had plenty of pain medication for him and the rest of your family. A family took care of their own and Taehyung was part of the family.
***
Every end of November, you would always help your brother out with Scouting for Food for Boy Scouts and this year was no exception. Two weeks prior while you and Taehyung were working on a project for one of your classes together, he and the other boy scouts in his troop tied blue plastic bags on door handles around town. The goal was for the houses to put cans of food and other nonperishables into the bag and leave them outside for the boy scouts to come back and pick them up. Your favorite part about the whole thing was getting to sit in the van, pulling the bags back to the back of the vehicle to make room for the others while belting out Christmas songs. You would joke every year that you were just caroling for the neighborhoods.
You were so excited when Tae asked to join you and your family. After you explained what it was and how you all did it every year, he was completely on board. So that next Sunday, he would be back at your house, ready to help.
While your mom drove her vehicle, your brother and one of his friends, also in Boy Scouts, were bouncing between the vehicle and doors where the bags of food were left. Your Christmas music playlist was playing through the speakers and you and Taehyung were belting them out. You were especially happy when a Pentatonix song or any of Bing Crosby’s duet songs from White Christmas came on. The two of you would bounce back and forth singing line after line, taking up each part as it was needed for your duet.
As you all were going through the neighborhood, occasionally the residents of the houses would be outside and you got to see some of them smile at you and Tae and clap for you both. Every time it happened, you both would look shyly at each other before laughing and blushing.
Once you had hit all of the houses needed, your mom drove to the designated drop-off area where all of you unloaded the bags that were picked up. Your brother and his friend stayed to sort the food while your mom drove you and Tae around to the front to wait for them. The two of you continued singing to the music while waiting until the exhaustion set in for you.
After a few songs, you felt your eyelids drooping and before you knew it, you had fallen asleep on Taehyung’s shoulder. What felt like a short moment later, you were startled awake by the sound of a car door slamming shut, your brother had finished up and gotten in the front seat.
Realizing how you were positioned, you hesitated to lift your head. On one hand, you didn’t want to draw the attention onto you and make things awkward, but on the other hand, your neck was starting to hurt from the angle it was at. Reluctantly, you decided to move, but to ease your nerves, Taehyung didn’t look uncomfortable at all. In fact, he looked happy.
“Did you have a nice nap?” He asked quietly, not wanting to disturb your mom who had begun driving back to the house.
You nodded shyly, “Yeah, your shoulder is surprisingly pretty comfortable.”
Lightly nudging him with your own shoulder, you laughed nervously. You hadn’t wanted to mention it, but the words came tumbling out before you could stop them. Tae must’ve picked up on the joking air of your comment because he laughed along with you.
And so November came to a close and brought you that much closer to Taehyung’s birthday. December passed in a flash because of how busy you all were. With school assignments, Christmases with your extended family (you had to assure Taehyung that he would not be intruding before he agreed to come with you), and finally finals week, school was officially done for the semester. December 30th was quickly approaching.
Christmas was spent in your living room with presents all around along with your favorite people. Your mom, your siblings, your favorite guy; It was perfect. You were just waiting for everyone to get their presents opened. Taehyung sat with you all, clearly not expecting any presents of any kind and definitely not expecting the one you had gotten for him.
Tae clapped his hands together when everyone’s presents were opened, only to gradually stop when he saw the looks on your faces.
“Why are you guys looking at me like that?”
Your mom looked to you as if to say This is all you, girly
With a smile plastered on your face, you explained, “We have a present for you, from all of us. It’s nothing big in size, but it means a lot.”
You reached under the Christmas tree to pull out a small box wrapped in colorful wrapping paper with a bow. Handing it to Taehyung, you leaned back and prepared yourself for his reaction.
With a confused glint in his eyes, he began unwrapping the present. Peeling back the wrapping paper at the side before ripping it down the middle to see a small box. One that wasn’t big enough to hold much, but he didn’t care about that. He was already holding back some tears at the thought that you all even got him anything while his past foster families hadn’t gotten him any Christmas presents for years.
Pushing aside those thoughts, he quickly glanced at your anticipating look before opening the small box. Inside laid a key. A key that read “Home” in dark green letters. He gently picked the key out of the box and turned it over in his hands a couple times before looking up at all of you with tear-filled eyes.
“Is this… what I think it is?”
You let out a watery laugh, “Well, if you think it’s a key to the front door here then, yes, it’s exactly what you think it is.”
You saw how Taehyung’s chin wobbled before a few tears fell down his face. He lowered his head, crying, while you scooted over to be sitting at his side. Wrapping your arms around his waist and lying your head on his shoulder, you patiently waited for his tears to slow.
“I figured it was the perfect time to give you your key since you’re moving here in five days from now.”
Tae sniffled and turned to look at you.
“Thank you,” you wiped a few tears from his cheeks before he looked at the rest of your family, “Thank you all. I’ll never be able to thank you enough.”
“Kiddo, you can thank us by being happy and staying safe here…and maybe occasionally doing the dishes since none of these hooligans do it,” your mom joked to lighten the atmosphere and make Taehyung laugh.
Your sister scoffed, “I don’t live here anymore, you can’t pin that on me! And I do my own dishes at my house, thank you very much.”
While everyone laughed, you left your hand on Tae’s back and checked on him while they continued bickering.
“Are you okay?”
Taehyung nodded, “Yeah, I’m great. Thank you for this.”
“Of course,” you smiled at him.
Nearly an hour and a half after presents were opened, your grandparents arrived at the house. While your mom went out to welcome them and help bring the presents and your grandmother’s cheesecake she always made inside, you noticed something off with Taehyung.
He was still sitting on the couch where he had been watching you play the new video game you got for Christmas, only now he was looking in your direction and worrying at his lip with his teeth.
You looked back outside, just to check and see if anyone needed your help. When it looked like they needed another set of hands to help carry things inside, you yelled for your brother.
“Can you go help mom?”
“I can~” he said teasingly, trying to annoy you.
“Well then, go.”
“Fine,” he pouted as he left to help out.
You turned back to Taehyung, who had turned to face the wall across from the couch while still worrying at his lip.
“Tae? What’s wrong? Why do you look so scared?” You asked cautiously, not wanting to startle him while he was clearly in his head about something.
His head shot over to look at you with wide eyes before shaking his head, dismissing your concern.
“Hey, Tae. This isn’t nothing, what’s up? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to, but I'm a little worried about you.”
“I’m okay, I promise,” He plastered on that big, boxy smile, but you saw past it. However much you wanted to keep pushing, it was clear he didn’t want to approach the topic and you had to respect that.
Giving in, you nodded but continued to stick close to him. His nerves and anxiety wafted off of him, telling you he was still worried about something even if he didn’t want to tell you.
When your grandparents came inside, you all moved to give and receive hugs. Your grandmother didn’t miss her opportunity to notice Taehyung.
“Well, you must be Taehyung. I was told you were handsome, but I didn’t know you’d be this handsome!”
You turned to look at Tae and the smile that had appeared because of your grandmother’s words quickly faded. Taehyung’s eyes were completely filled with fear and you could almost see the way his body was shaking with his rapid breathing.
“I’ll be back,” he mumbled before bolting up the stairs.
“Tae?” you started to follow him before turning around, “Mom can you-”
“Don’t worry, I’ll explain. You go make sure he’s okay.”
“Thank you.”
Reaching your door, you knocked before pressing your ear to the door. You could hear quiet sniffles from the other side.
“Tae?” you asked gently, “Can I come in?”
You heard a small yeah before you opened the door. Seeing Taehyung lying on your bed with his knees to his chest pulled at your heart. His hair fell in his eyes, growing wet from his tears.
Without words, you slowly walked over to your bed before laying down in front of Taehyung. You opened your arms and immediately, he fell into them. You rubbed up and down the crying boy’s back.
“I’m sorry,” Taehyung started.
“Hey, none of that, alright? It’s not your fault. Do you want to talk about it?”
After a moment of hesitation, he nodded.
“I remember my own grandmother, my real one. She was my favorite person in the world, my only person. But she’s not here anymore,” Taehyung cried, “I always looked for her in my foster grandparents, but they always hated me just as much as my foster parents. Asking their children why they had to get stuck with a foster kid like me and stuff like that. But, the way that your grandmother talked? She-She sounded exactly like mine. She sounded so kind and loving and-and it scared me.”
Holding back your own tears, you asked, “Scared you?”
He nodded, “You said that I’m becoming part of your family. I’m scared I’m gonna lose you as I lost her.”
“TaeTae,” you started, letting a few of your own tears fall, “You are never going to lose me, okay? You’re never going to lose us. You’re not just becoming part of my family, you are part of my family. My mom already loves you like her own son, you joke around well with my siblings, and just from what my mom and I have told my grandparents, they already love you as well. They even kept telling us how excited they were to meet you. Alright? No one is going anywhere. Not anymore.”
He nodded before beginning to cry more. Now the scared look in his eyes made sense. He was afraid that either your grandparents would hate him as the others have or they would love him and he wouldn’t know how to handle it. All you could do now was to hold him and try to help him calm down.
Once his tears began to slow, you could tell his mind was already overthinking again. Especially with what he said to you after wiping his eyes.
“I hope I didn’t make a bad first impression running off like I did. I wasn’t thinking.”
“Hey,” you shook your head, “you’re okay. They’ll understand. I know they will.”
After a nod and a few more moments of calming Taehyung down, you both finally went back downstairs. Tae clinging to your arm a bit, but you didn’t mind it in the slightest. In fact, you were glad you could provide him with any kind of comfort, especially when he needed it.
The rest of Christmas day passed comfortably mostly. Your grandfather retreated to the living room to watch the tv while your brother played video games on the computer. All the while your mom and grandmother made dinner and you, your sister, and Taehyung played games at the kitchen table. Though once the food was ready, you all had to vacate the kitchen until everything was set up.
The conversation was kept light and fun, especially with your sister asking questions like, “Is a hot dog in a bun a sandwich or a taco?” and “If I put two pieces of bread on opposite sides of the world, is that a world sandwich?”
Before you could even comment on how similar those questions were to the ones Taehyung used to tease you with when you first were getting to know each other, Tae jumped right in giving his opinions and even throwing out other nonsensical questions.
“Alright, enough of this. It‘s time for presents!” Your grandfather joked.
Your grandmother handed out each bag and when she got to the last one, Taehyung’s eyes widened in surprise when it was handed to him. He was stunned silent, so you accepted it for him.
Opening the presents, you found money origami folded into different Christmas shapes. Yours is a Christmas tree with a star and Taehyung’s being an angel.
Taehyung looked lost for words as he stared at the gift. Looking up to briefly meet your grandmother’s eyes, he muttered, “Thank you.”
Your grandmother smiled sweetly at him and ruffled his hair, “Of course, sweetheart!”
All throughout the day, laughter was a constant theme. Though there were still moments where Taehyung was a bit affected by your grandmother’s presence, you tried your best to help break the ice and make sure all parties were comfortable. By the time your grandparents had to leave, Taehyung was able to share shy smiles and a quick side hug.
The next few days passed comfortably with Taehyung still ringing the doorbell when he arrived but letting himself in after announcing that it was him. It wasn’t until the night before he was to move in that things changed.
After spending the day before his birthday at your house, painting and watching movies, you were walking Taehyung out to his car to go back to his house for the last time. You all had gradually moved his belongings into your house and all that was left for tomorrow was his bigger furniture. Tonight would be the last night before he officially moved into your home.
As Tae was opening his front door, he paused before climbing in.
“Y/N, I need to tell you something.”
You cocked your head, “Yeah? What is it?”
“I-” he stopped himself and you could tell how much he was fighting internally on whether to tell you or not.
“Tae, you can tell me anything, you don’t have to be nervous.”
“Actually, I do because I’m moving in with you and your family tomorrow and this will either make things even better or really awkward.”
You furrowed your eyebrows before shaking your head, “Hey, whatever it is, I won’t let things be like that. Trust me.”
A deep breath in, “I…like you. A lot. And if you don’t feel the same, I’m sorry I just made everything weird,” and a deep breath out.
To say you were shocked was in some way both an understatement and an overstatement. It was a surprise but also not? There had been a voice at the back of your mind saying Go for it! He clearly likes you back! but you always managed to convince yourself that you were just imagining it, hoping for something that wasn’t really there.
“Please say something,” Taehyung whispered, fear and insecurities laced through his words at your silence. You hadn’t even noticed you’d gone quiet for so long.
A smile broke across your face, “Tae, I like you too. So much. Honestly, I think I’ve known how I feel about you since that first day you sang to me to calm me down. I finally accepted it, though, after telling you about my mom saying you could move in with us.”
Tae let out a sigh of relief, “Thank god. I was going to go crazy if you said you didn’t feel the same way.”
A mischievous smile found its way on your face, “You weren’t crazy already?”
A roll of eyes, “Shut up.”
“Make me.”
Tae paused at the emotion in your voice. It wasn’t a fully playful remark, but one that held so much hidden meaning. The longing that you’ve felt being the most present. He couldn’t deny his own emotions either. So he didn’t.
He took a step back to close his car door before making his way over to you. One step, two steps, three. He placed a hand on your cheek, and you leaned into the warmth radiating through him. You took a step forward yourself and laid your hands on his chest, looking up into his beautiful brown eyes that held your whole world.
Taehyung leaned in and right before he closed the gap, he whispered, “This is okay?”
Pursing your lips, you nodded before verbally affirming, “Definitely.”
At your word, he finally closed the gap. Your lips lock in a sweet, yet passionate kiss. One that’s gentle but also full of the emotions you both have been harboring for quite some time now. From Tae’s side, you can feel the gratitude through the gentle ministrations as well as the hope that you helped him find again after being lost in the dark for so long. On the other hand, you hoped to convey the light he brought to your life along with the fiery passion and determination to pave your own paths through the obstructions you both face.
It’s a kiss you both lose yourself in and only find the way out when breath becomes a necessity.
“God, I can’t wait for you to move in tomorrow,” you start with a breathy laugh.
“Me either.”
“You sure you aren’t going to get tired of me?”
“Oh, now that I can’t promise.”
“Sure, you can’t,” your eyes roll, the bright smile across your flaming cheeks giving away your ruse of annoyance, “You do realize how cliche this is, right? I mean, the damaged, tough guy falling for the invisible, boring girl?”
Taehyung pretends to contemplate your words for a moment, choosing instead to quickly reconnect your lips, “I think you are the most interesting person I’ve ever met.”
“Well then, you can’t have met too many people before me.”
“On the contrary, I’ve met lots…”
“Tae!” you feigned annoyance once again to hide the even darker blush that threatens to expose how affected you were by his compliment.
“What? “I’m being honest!” he exclaimed before his voice deepened, turning more serious, “I’ve met lots of people and you are still the most fascinating of them all.”
Your breath hitched at the genuine look hidden in his irises, only meant for you. His lips quirked into a smirk, noticing how he affected you with his confession which pulled you from your stupor. Shaking the leftover haze from your mind, you let your gaze fall to your endlessly interesting shoes, too embarrassed to meet Taehyung’s eyes.
When you continued to feel his piercing gaze, you chose the only option you could come up with. That being to thrust yourself at him, wrapping your arms around his small waist and hiding your ever-growing blush against his chest.
“Stop looking at me like that!” you wailed.
Finally relenting with a deep chuckle, Taehyung wrapped his arms around you and placed a fleeting kiss on the crown of your head.
“Alright, as ecstatic as I am right now, I really need to head back. I need my beauty sleep before the big day tomorrow.”
Against his chest, Tae could hear your intake of breath, feel you open your mouth, ready to say something before hesitating.
“Hey,” he pulled back to meet your shy gaze, “What is it?”
Seemingly gathering your courage, you steeled your gaze, “Kiss me again before you go?”
A bright boxy smile stretched across the boy’s face at your words. Cupping the back of your neck gently, he pulled you in for another kiss, completely overwhelmed by his utter adoration for your nervousness.
He finally pulled away, placing a final peck to the tip of your bright red nose for the sole purpose of witnessing the way you scrunched up that cute nose of yours.
With a low chuckle, he retreated to open his car door once again before hopping in. Once it was started and the heating was kicking in, he rolled down the window and stuck his head out. Noticing this, you took a few steps forward until you could rest your arms on the opening.
Leaning in, you stole another quick peck, “Be careful on your way back. I’ll see you tomorrow to finally move you in.”
He hummed, “I’m looking forward to it.”
“Me too.”
The boxy smile that graced his features reminded you of where you both started and of how that smile was once very hard to come by. Now, you get to see it daily and that was the most rewarding gift to come out of all of this.
“Oh, Y/N! I figured this was implied but…be my girlfriend?”
You couldn’t hold back the ecstatic smile that quickly took over your face, “Of course, Tae.”
Reluctantly, you stepped back from his car. As he backed out of the driveway and headed on his way for the last time, you waved.
You stood there for a moment, the cold December air not even registering as you thought back over what just happened. Completely lost in your excitement, you didn’t notice the growing smile or the excitement flooding all of your senses.
Once you came back to yourself, you quickly walked back inside. Opening the door, you couldn’t help the overflow of joy.
“Mom! You’ll never believe what just happened!”
“Oh, somehow I doubt that…”
And of course, she did believe what happened. She had been expecting it for a while, she told you. She also told you how happy she was for both of her kiddos.
That night, you fell asleep with a smile and so much excitement for the next day.
***
When you woke up in the morning, there was a split second where you didn’t realize the importance of the day. That quickly faded, however. Once you remembered, you were up and hurrying to get ready.
It wasn’t long before everyone was dressed and Tae was arriving to pick you up and lead your mom to his house. While you made sure you were completely ready to go, Tae and your mom made sure to take out all of the back seats to make room for everything.
As soon as you hopped in, you leaned across the middle console and stole yet another kiss from him.
“I still can’t believe I can do that,” You said against your boyfriend’s lips.
“Me either.”
As you blissfully got settled into your seat and buckled your seatbelt, a lone question decided to run rampant through your head. You tried to hush the voice but only for so long.
“Tae?” you asked as you rested your hand on top of his that was resting on the middle console.
“Yeah?”
You hesitated, “Are your foster parents going to be there?”
He shook his head, “When I told them I was moving out, they started planning to be out of town so they wouldn’t have to help or anything.”
Tightening your grip on his hand, you rolled your eyes and scoffed, “At least I won’t have to worry about trying not to lose it on them after the way they’ve treated you. I know I’m mostly all bark and no bite, but I really don’t know how I would’ve reacted at seeing them.”
“Then, it’s a good thing they won’t be there. I didn’t really want them there anyway,” Tae started explaining as he turned on his blinker before making a left turn, “I really just didn’t want to expose you to them because I knew you’d be coming to help move things. I wasn’t sure how you’d react either, to be honest. Your mom also seems like she’d kick their asses as well and that’s kind of the last thing we need.”
“Oh yeah, she totally would. I once told her about my best friend’s mom and how she did something stupid and she launched into a whole rant about ‘If you’re gonna treat your kids like shit, you shouldn’t have them in the first place.’”
“Honestly,” Tae laughed as he pulled into the driveway, the others right behind you in your mom’s car.
Because the only things left to move over were the bigger furniture pieces like Tae’s bed, dresser, and desk, you all spent a considerable part of the day just taking them apart and storing the hardware for safekeeping. Collecting all of the pieces, your brother and Tae removed each drawer from his dresser and placed them in the back of your boyfriend’s car. At the same time, you helped your mom carry the pieces of Tae’s bed frame into the back of her vehicle, along with the pieces for his desk.
After putting the now much lighter dresser into the car, you all were ready to go after only taking a few hours to dismantle and pack everything.
Your mom and brother went ahead and drove home while you walked over towards your boyfriend. Taehyung was leaning against the hood of his car, looking at the house for the last time.
Taking the space beside him, you wrapped your arm around his waist and leaned your head on his shoulder.
“You okay?”
He hummed, “It’s weird thinking that this part of my life is over, you know? This isn’t anything like how I thought moving out would go.”
“How did you think it would go?”
“Lots of yelling and crying, scrounging for money to get a room anywhere I could, realistically ending up sleeping in my car. It couldn’t be more different.”
Removing your arm from his waist, you interlaced your fingers with his, “A good kind of different.”
Tae raised your intertwined hands to kiss the back of yours, “A great kind of different.”
Turning your head to look at Tae’s side profile, you couldn’t help the sudden urge to kiss his cheek. You watched a blush slowly rise across his cheek while you pulled your intertwined hands into your lap.
“I’m so excited to get home and get you settled in properly. It already started feeling real when we were moving my brother’s furniture down into my sister’s old room, but now? Knowing that once we get home, we’ll be able to officially unpack all of your stuff; It’s just making it that much more real.”
Tae turned to look at you and you noticed his slightly glassy eyes, “Let’s get home.”
The weight of the sentence didn’t evade you. In fact, it made you freeze as it really hit you. The only real family and home he ever had was with his grandmother and that had been so long ago. It made you remember where you both started, in an Honors Composition class with him in a tiff because of the edits you made on his paper. He had been so closed off and secretive to you then, you were dying to know more. It also made you remember the first time you asked him about his living situation.
“Did that have something to do with your home life?”
“That place is not my home. It’s just a house.” Taehyung replied coldly.
Oh, how far you’ve both come.
You both finally hopped back into his car and headed home.
Pulling into the driveway, you both quickly hopped out to help your mom and brother bring what was left of Taehyung’s furniture pieces inside. After laying them out and separating them into groups, you finally started bringing in his dresser. While that one was the easiest to reassemble, the other two were a little more complex and took more assembly.
After a few hours of putting together the furniture and helping Tae put all of his belongings in their rightful places, his room was finally complete.
Flopping onto his bed at the same time as him, you both slowly turned your heads to make eye contact. Maybe it was the exhaustion from all of the work done throughout the day, but you both began cracking up laughing. It was the kind of sleep-deprived, stomach aching laugh that you can’t stop no matter how hard you try. Once it finally stops, it begins again just as quickly as it ends because the silence after is somehow even funnier.
Once you both were out of breath and only lightly chuckling, you scooted closer to Tae until you could hide your head against his neck.
“I can’t believe this is really happening,” Tae started, “I really got away from them.”
You laid your hand on his cheek and placed a sweet kiss on his temple, “Believe it, Tae. You did it. You got through it and you made it out the other side. I’m so proud of you.”
When Taehyung turned to look at you, you could see all of the unsaid emotions in his eyes. The glassiness gives it all away. It was his turn to rest his hand against your cheek and pull you in for a kiss, this time on your lips.
Pulling away to take a breath, you weren’t expecting Taehyung to say what he said next.
“I love you.”
Your eyes widened and so did Taehyung’s, clearly surprised at his own outburst.
“I’m sorry, I said that too fast, didn’t I? I’m sorry, I only just said ‘I like you’ yesterday but I didn’t want to say ‘I love you’ cause I thought it was too fast and I didn’t wanna freak y–?
“Tae,” You interrupted his endearing rambling, “It doesn’t matter whether it’s too fast or not, not when I love you too.”
A boxy smile made its way back onto your boyfriend’s face before he pulled you into him for a hug.
***
You and Taehyung were sitting in your room having been working on a sociology project together. The both of you had been struggling to get the motivation to complete it and now that the May 6th deadline was only a week away, it was a race against time.
You hadn’t let yourself get too distracted between small breaks here and there until your phone dinged from an email you received.
You only caught the first few words before you sprung up off of your bed, holding your phone close to your face and shaking it around as if that would make the email load any faster.
“Love, what’s going on?”
You didn’t mean to ignore Taehyung’s question, but you had to reread the first sentence so many times before it finally hit you.
Dear Y/N Y/L/N,
We are delighted to offer you admission to Bangtan University for the upcoming Fall semester…
You screamed and jumped on top of Taehyung in your excitement, effectively trapping him underneath you on your bed.
“I got in!! I got into Bangtan University!!”
“Are you serious??”
“Yes!!!”
Taehyung tickled your sides before wrapping his arms around you, “Y/N, that’s amazing! You worked your ass off and here you are. I’m so proud of you.”
Not able to erase the huge smile on your face and the rosy brush crawling up your cheeks, you nuzzled your face into Taehyung’s neck. Successfully hiding, you placed a kiss to where you could reach.
“I love you so much, Tae.”
Gently cradling the back of your head, he replied, “I love you too.”
Just then, Taehyung’s phone began ringing from the floor across the room. Likely where it had gotten thrown from your tackling.
Hurriedly getting up to grab his phone, Taehyung answered the call before it could end.
“Hello?... Yes, it is. Who is this?... I’m very honored to hear that, thank you very much… Are you serious?... I would love to…Thank you so much! I’ll work hard!”
“Tae? What was that?”
Taehyung hesitated to respond, trying to understand it himself.
Suddenly, “I think I just got signed to a modeling agency…”
“Are you serious?” you squealed, “Did this really just happen at the same time? What did they say?”
“They saw some of my photos on my social media, both of me and the ones I’ve taken of you and different scenery. They wanted to sign me as a model and maybe even as a photographer in the future. They even said they’d pay for me to go to college as a photography major.”
“Tae!! That’s amazing!!” You jumped up to pull him into a hug. You made a startled noise, not quite expecting him to pick you up by the back of your thighs but wrapping your legs around his waist nonetheless. Cupping his face, you continued, “I am seriously so unbelievably proud of you. I know how much you wanted this even though you didn’t think you’d get it, but now you will. You get to do what you’ve always wanted to do and I’m so happy for you, love.”
“No, we get to do what we’ve always wanted to do. Don’t forget you just got admitted to college as well somehow.” He tacked the last word on tauntingly.
An offended gasp, “That ‘somehow’ was not necessary!”
“You’re right, we all knew you’d get in, you smartass,” A playful hit to his chest, “I’m just kidding. We’re going to college, love. I love you so much.”
Wrapping your arms around his neck, you leaned your forehead against his. Your lips just barely graze when you say, “We are. I love you too.”
You’re just about to close the tiny gap when your mom knocks on your door.
“Y/N? Tae? What was all that screaming?”
Since you and Taehyung were close enough to the door, you leaned forward to turn the doorknob, effectively letting the door swing open slowly. Placing your head on Taehyung’s shoulder, you smiled cheekily at your mom when she came into view.
“I just got admitted to Bangtan University and Taehyung got signed to a modeling agency who also offered to pay for him to go to college for photography. At the same time,” you rattled off, your mind still in a frenzy from all the excitement.
It takes your mom a moment to understand your rambling, but once she does, her face lights up. She pulls both of you into such a loving embrace.
“I’m so proud of my kiddos,” she says before placing a kiss to the top of both of your heads, “We’re eating out tonight to celebrate!”
***
Standing outside of your high school, black gowns drawing in the heat of the May sun and decorated caps adorning your heads, you and your friends had met up before heading inside.
Taehyung holding your hand, squeezed gently to draw your attention, “We’re really here, this is really happening.”
“We did it.”
“We did.”
“Alright, we get it, you’re in love with each other!” A groaning voice brought you back to the group of friends surrounding you both.
Yeji places her hand on your shoulder while glaring, “No. Leave them alone, Jimin, they’re cute.”
“I’m aware, Yeji, because I feel too single,” Jimin argued back.
“Oh hush, you know you’re happy for them.”
“Well, yeah, duh,” Jimin responded snarkily.
With big, round eyes and pouty lips, you looked between your bickering friends, “Thank you, guys.”
Just then, two friends of Taehyung’s popped their heads out the front door of the building. The silver-haired boy caught the group's attention by announcing, “Guys, we’re getting ready to go!”
“We’re coming, Shua!”
Then you heard the blonde with him mutter, “Not fast enough…”
Fixing the boy with a glare, you gritted out, “Jeonghan, I will fight you, I don’t care.”
“Love, don’t get kicked out of school on graduation day, please?”
You pouted but leaned into Taehyung who had wrapped an arm around your shoulders. Quickly glaring again at Jeonghan before the two friends disappeared back inside, you looked back to your boyfriend with a defeated expression.
“Fine, only for you. But once we graduate–”
“Y/N,” Jimin interjected, “everyone knows you don’t have an actual fighting bone in your body.”
You turned to pout at Jimin which only earned you a pat on the head before he and Yeji headed inside to find their alphabetically arranged spots.
Taehyung just laughed before placing a kiss on the crown of your head, leading the way.
When you both split off, he asked, “See you after we graduate?”
“Definitely.”
Once you found your space in order, you were chatting with those around you about future plans and whatnot. It wasn’t too much later that it really was time to go (Joshua admitted to exaggerating in case you would’ve taken longer) and the teachers were directing everyone to stand. Heading outside into the May heat, you all headed for the football field.
You reached the gates leading onto the track surrounding the area, and the faculty there explained that you would be walking in twos between the setup seats, only to split off into the two sections. When you reached your seat, you stayed standing to watch everyone else find their places. You only sat down once the Class President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian all made their way up onto the small stage.
As the Class President walked forward to the mic to announce that everyone could be seated, you held back a snort. Jimin was always so different hanging out with your group versus when he had to represent the school as the Graduating Class’ President. This Jimin was so calm and professional, but he couldn’t be more opposite any other time.
After the principal congratulated all of you on making it to graduation, she went through the struggles your class had gone through. Your junior year having been cut short due to a pandemic, and returning to classes while having to adjust to the changing world around, it wasn’t easy. She finished her opening speech by expressing how proud she was of the class before recognizing the facility sitting around the stage.
The next speech came from one of your favorite English teachers who was selected by the graduating class to give said speech. Your eyes teared up when she called you all Literary Scholars, her trademark. By the time she finished, it was really beginning to hit you that you were graduating and heading off to the rest of your lives.
The members of the student council one by one approached the podium to recite the speeches they had written, ending with Jimin’s.
Throughout all of the speeches, you and Taehyung were exchanging glances as if reassuring each other that this was really happening. You really did make it to graduation.
Finally, it was time for getting diplomas as Jimin and the vice president stood on each side of the rows of seats. They directed the first row to stand and walk over to the stage.
As each of your friends crossed the stage, you clapped a little louder and cheered to yourself, not specifically wanting to embarrass them. However, your friends didn’t have the same sentiment when it came to you. When your name was called and you began walking onto the stage, there were a few yells and whistles. You had no doubt that your boyfriend was one of them and you covered your face as you laughed. A blush accompanies you onto the stage.
When it was Taehyung’s turn and Kim Taehyung was read out, you and your other friends (after sneakily sharing glances and forming your devious plan) yelled and whistled and cheered. Just slightly, over the clapping from the families watching, you could hear your family cheering for Taehyung as well, for their family member. You teared up and once Taehyung heard them as well, the utter shock and surprise that adorned his features, made a few tears slip past your waterline.
As he passed you to go back to his seat, you placed your hand over your heart, mouthing, “I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” He mouthed back with tears in his eyes.
Once all of your class had taken their seats again, the principal approached the podium one last time, directing the class to stand for their final “CAP Exam.” Moving the tassels right to left, everyone threw their decorated caps to the sky in celebration.
“Congratulations graduated class.”
And with that, the ceremony was over. After quickly finding your cap that you had spent so much time decorating and unzipping your gown to reveal your dress that was light blue and covered in daisies, you scanned over the class to find the one person you wanted to see most.
Meeting those beautiful eyes that you loved so much, you began walking as a smile grew on your face. You quickly started speeding up until you were up to a running pace. You watched Taehyung crouch down a small amount and immediately understood. Once you reached him, you held onto his shoulders as he lifted you by your waist.
“Hi,” you started.
“Hi yourself.”
“We did it. We’re done.”
“Yes, we did.”
“Alright,” Yeji’s voice startled the two of you out of your own world, “We want hugs too. We also just graduated!”
Relenting, Taehyung put you down and you all exchanged hugs. You talked amongst yourselves about future plans and the Senior All Night Party before deciding to go out to eat the next day to celebrate together. Everyone was planning to celebrate with family today.
“Okay, cool! That’s our plan for tomorrow!” You caught your mom waving you down from the stands, “Mom’s flagging us down, we gotta go. We’ll see yo–”
“Hi, mom!!” Yeji yelled as all of your friends tuned out the rest of your words when they turned around to wave at your mom. She waved right back and blew kisses towards the group.
You pouted which only made Tae wrap his arms around you in a back hug. Peaking around to see your face, he watched your pout slowly melt into a small smile. Placing a quick peck to your cheek, he pulled away and interlaced your fingers.
“We’ll see you all tomorrow!” He yelled over his shoulder and you both started making your way off of the football field.
Your mom pulled you both into a tight embrace as soon as she found you, privately whispering, “I’m so proud of both of my kiddos. I love you both so much.”
Taking a bunch of pictures in the shade and away from the heat, you all decided to go eat at the restaurant of yours and Tae’s choosing, Taehyung and you going in one car and your family going in the other as they arrived later.
After final hugs, like you weren’t going to see each other again in fifteen minutes or so, you and Taehyung split off towards his car while holding each other’s hands.
As if it had just hit you again, you breathed out, “I can’t believe we graduated and are now college students, what the hell?”
“I couldn’t have done it without you, Y/N.”
“I couldn’t have done it without you either.”
“No, I’m serious,” Taehyung paused on the sidewalk to turn to you. Grasping your other hand with his, he continued, “I couldn’t have done anything this year without you. There was a possibility I would’ve failed out and I was in a really dark place with no hope. You saved me, love.”
Lifting your hand (and inadvertently lifting Taehyung’s interlocked one), you wiped a stray tear off your cheek. Squeezing his hands in reassurance, you told him, “I don’t think you realize how much you helped me as well. Because of you, I’m so much more confident and outgoing. Plus all of the times you sent me recordings of you singing or photos you had taken when I told you I was struggling with my family situation? You made my life a thousand times better just by being you, Tae.”
A wet laugh escaped your boyfriend, watching his gaze fall to the ground, followed by a couple of tears that dripped off the tip of his nose. You felt your heartache at how much the boy before you made you feel. How much he means to you.
You kissed the back of his hand before letting go and wrapping your arms around the back of his neck. Only then, prompting him to meet your gaze again and wrap his arms around your waist. You wiped a few stray tears and he laughed softly and did the same for you. You hadn’t even realized you were crying again, too focused on how much love you have for Taehyung.
“I love you so much, I don’t even have the words to express it.”
“I can think of another way you express it really well.”
At your teasing words, Taehyung chuckled before gently pulling you closer to him and locking your lips. Filled with emotions of being proud and feeling grateful, you stayed there and tuned out the rest of the world.
Summary: Hobi finds it hard to control himself when you show up to a tennis game in a mini skirt.
Inspired by anon.
_____________________
Hoseok had been trying hard to focus on the game. Really he had. However he couldn’t help but let his eyes wander, gazing up and down your semi nude figure.
Your legs were glistening in the sunshine, your breasts bouncing as you ran and jumped. He could have sworn you were doing this on purpose, the way you laughed and flicked your hair, beating him at almost every game due to his lack of concentration.
Then there was the skirt. This was a step too far for his body to handle. He couldn’t control the way his mouth fell and his dick rose in his shorts when he saw you bend over to collect the ball, your skirt rising up, your barely there panties on full display. If he wasn’t already hooked on you, he certainly was now.
Hoseok tried to focus on the rest of the game, reminding himself that you were his friend. He didn’t want to ruin that by fucking you senseless. But that’s exactly what he wanted to do.
....
An hour later, Hobi stepped out of the shower in the male changing rooms, more frustrated than he had been before, thoughts of you running through his mind. How dare you walk around flaunting your ass for anyone to see? It’s like you wanted to rile him up, the way you had bent over with your back to him. Fuck, he wanted to throw you over his lap and punish you for wearing such a silly little outfit for a simple game of tennis.
Not being able to get you out of his mind, he stormed over the the female changing rooms, barging in without warning.
Luckily for him he found you alone and still in your tennis outfit. Having stayed on the pitch a little longer than him, you had just come in to shower.
“Hobi? You’re not supposed to be in here... are you okay?” you noticed he had a more serious face on than usual, something you were not used to seeing on him.
“Do you have any idea what you’re doing to me y/n?” He said lowly, sighing and running his hand though his hair. He walked over, eventually standing in front of you and caging you to the lockers with his arms on each side of your head.
You bit your lip while looking up at him. Yes you knew...you knew exactly what you had been doing. And now you were finally so close to getting what you wanted.
“No... what am I doing to you?” You blinked, feigning ignorance.
Hoseok traced his finger down the side of your face, along your jaw, down your neck and onto one of your breasts. “Not wearing a bra, did you know I could see your nipples?” He pinched a nipple, making you gasp.
His fingers continued their journey south, landing on your thigh, just under the hem of your skirt. “And this skirt, what made you think you could wear this with such tiny panties huh?” He didn’t wait for an answer as his fingers trailed to your ass. “I’ve been wanting to squeeze this sexy little ass all afternoon”. He squeezed one cheek, then smacked it, making you gasp again.
“Hmm, will you make such pretty sounds if I do this... ?”. Hobi slid his fingers between your legs to find your soaking wet panties sticking to you, a mixture of sweat and arousal pooled in them. He smirked, glad you were just as turned on as he was, and pulled at the material, letting them drop to your ankles. With one arm around your waist, he proceeded to spread the wetness around your folds with his other hand, rubbing on your clit a few times before dipping a finger into your already dripping hole. You whined, leaning your head back as his fingers worked you up.
“Fuck, how are you so wet? Did you want me that much? You should have said earlier, save me the trouble of having to watch you run around half naked on the pitch...” he said, a wicked tone to his voice.
His fingers showed you no mercy as he viciously attacked your cunt, the speed of them making you arch your back in pleasure. It was in that moment that you were thankful for his skills in tennis, the flick of his wrist so powerful due to the sport. You put your arms around his shoulders, trying to keep your legs strong enough to stay up. Hobi was watching your every expression, treasuring every sound that escaped your lips. He attached his mouth to your neck, biting and sucking harshly. He then did the same to your breasts, lifting your top up and leaving his mark on them, leaning back to admire his work.
“Hobi, I’m gonna...” you let out a moan, grabbing onto his hair.
“Go ahead, cum baby” he smirked, his fingers continuing to defile your cunt.
You trembled as you came all over his hand, feeling it sliding down your thighs, making you feel even dirtier than before.
“That’s it... cum on my fingers, damn” Hobi looked at his cum covered fingers and stuck them in front of your mouth “suck”.
He bit his lip. Watching you suck his fingers clean so obediently was the hottest thing he had seen a girl do. He released his fingers and attached his mouth to yours instead, tasting your sweet juices on your tongue, god you could become addictive. He grabbed your ass, squeezing hard as you whined into his mouth.
Suddenly you were being spun around and bent over, hands on the lockers and ass in the air, your pussy still dripping with cum. Hobi swore under his breath as he admired your state, wanting to keep this image in his mind forever. He pulled out his hard cock, dripping with precum and aching with the need to be inside you. He smacked your ass, the sound of your whines like music to his ears.
“Hold tight baby, I’m not gonna take it easy on you. You don’t deserve easy after what you’ve done to me today” he warned. You steadied yourself, believing fully that he wouldn’t go gentle after the way he had just fingered you.
Hobi slid his shaft along your folds, gathering up the remnants of your cum before he pushed himself into you. He slid in all the way without stopping, then pulled out slowly. After that first thrust, he showed no hints of slowness as the room was filled with the sounds of the shaking lockers, the slaps of skin, your moans, and his grunts (not unlike his tennis ones) as he pounded into you with a brutal force that had you screaming his name.
Your breath heavy, you pushed your hands onto the lockers as hard as you could, willing yourself not to slip as the stimulation from his balls slapping on your clit made your legs shake. With your skirt hitched up, Hobi couldn’t stop himself from giving your ass a few more smacks (loving your cries) while pumping in and out of you. He watched as your pussy seemed to suck him in desperately each time, your satisfied moans spurring him to go harder. He couldn’t believe you were letting him do this to you in public, but then again you were the one who had openly flaunted what you had in public too.
“Maybe this will teach you not to play tennis with such a tiny skirt on” he delivered a particularly hard smack to your ass, making you cry out again. “Tell me you won’t do it again” he growled.
“I- won’t do - mmmm- it again” you breathed out between moans “I’m gonna - oohhh- cum”.
“Good girl” he patted your sore ass cheeks gently, “Me too- where should I...”
“Cum in me... please” you breathed out.
“Oh shit” as if Hobi couldn’t be more turned on right now, you had to go and say that. He came with you, the clenching of your walls leading him to his high. After covering your insides with thick spurts of his cum, he tucked himself away and pulled your panties up, patting them in place to make sure you didn’t leak your mixed liquids all over the floor.
“Oops sorry about that” he guiltily looked at the many marks he had left on your neck.
“It’s okay” you shrugged. “Nothing a bit of make up can’t hide”
“That means I can make more!” He pretended to bite your neck.
“Stop! I need to shower, I’m disgusting right now” you looked down with disgust at your sweaty chest and cum covered thighs.
“I need another shower too, maybe I’ll join you...”
....
Tennis sessions never ended innocently again...much to both your pleasure.
a/n: This is my submission for my “Prank Calls” Prompt from @btsholidaybingo!!
word count: 3.5k
Inside a sparse and dimply lit apartment, you resided, pacing the floor of your livingroom as you listened to yet another stupid caller. A frustrated sigh left you when you were finally able to hang up on the mysterious caller for the ninth time this week, you almost always listened to their whole speel before hanging up either out of pity or from desperately craving some social interaction with someone who isn’t in your inner circle A squeaky laugh ringing in your ears as you mulled over the latest call and tried to focus on anything other than it (ideally, you’d be focusing on your homework). There were so many questions about whoever this prank caller was though. You felt so stumped and didn’t know where to look or what to do. Carefully, you set your phone down on the coffee table before sitting back at your couch where you were supposed to be working on homework.
How had they gotten your phone number?
It wasn't public information. There shouldn't be a way for random strangers just to get your phone number. Someone asking if your fridge was running is not a spam call.
Why did someone have so much fun with pranking you that they have done it nine times?
Who the hell was it?
Why haven't you blocked them yet?
Well... that last one you have an answer for... You just can't bring yourself to. Despite the annoying prank calls and horrible jokes, they were some of the few stranger interactions you'd had in a while... Plus the person had such an attractive voice.
Squeaky laugh and all.
Maybe... if you had the nerves to do more than an instinctual eye roll and hang up you’d have the answers to all of your questions. You could try to strike up a conversation and learn about this random caller… maybe even make a new friend.
You were shy though. Even if you wanted to do more, you didn’t have it in you normally to do that. It’d have to be a rare event to make you be able to actually strike up a conversation with a stranger.
With a deep sigh, you turn back to the tv and pressed play on the random episode of some random show that you were watching as you slowly did some work. You'd be spending the night with Minji and Sunha tomorrow and although you loved them, they took a ton of energy from you… and you had so much homework that absolutely had to be done at some point. You tiredly picked at the secondhand couch before you readjusted the volume to be louder. One of your next door neighbors was causing a ruckus and although you didn’t mind when occasionally interrupted your show, you didn’t want to hear what they were saying… it would be too much of a distractant from the bits of homework you were doing. If you had the energy to interact with people this evening, then maybe you’d have asked them to be quieter or even saw if it was some sort of hall event that you could join in. You didn’t have the energy though and you surely didn’t have any energy to try to insulate your apartment more. For the most part your neighbors were decent at being respectful. It was a perk of living off campus.
Somehow, you managed to do a whole hour more of light homework before another prank call interuppted you (this time with a dumb joke before they hung up) and you figured that even though it was still early (a whopping 2:30 at night!), it would be best to call it an early night.
The next day, you woke up groggily, did some homework, and attended your classes as normal. Well.. it was mostly normal. You went to campus a little earlier than you tend to because you wanted to try one of its cafe’s latest drink that Sunha was gushing about last week. Apparently it was the next best thing since PSL and that even if you weren’t a PSL fan, you had to try it… it wasn’t that good in your opinion but you were also very picky about your coffee and didn’t care for dessert drinks much.
At the end of your school day, you also walked across campus to Minju and Sunha’s shared dorm instead of taking the bus home and enjoying a relaxing night full of doing some more homework and watching a random show. The dorm building and surrounding space was crowded with people having fun and relaxing all around you. At one point, you even had to quickly jump out of the way of a volleyball that someone hit wrong and sent flying. It was an odd sight for you since you didn’t venture to this side of campus often and it showed. You inexpertly maneuvered around people, occasionally staring at the odd sight for a little too long as you struggled to make it to your friend’s dorm. Somehow, you managed to make it to the dorm without bumping into anyone. Cold air blasted you as you entered the lobby space and checked in, no one batting an eye at the visitor. The lobby was grand (for a college), a fancy kitchen that was often shown off for tours (and was chronically dirty) and a large, unlit fireplace greeted you as you looked around. Large group seating areas with worn-in and stained chairs littered the floor, people pulling them every which direction to fit their needs. The best part of the lobby was the two large flat screen tvs that hung over the fireplaces. Some people were sitting and talking in the chairs but most had pulled them around the tvs to watch some movie or show.
Despite your curiosity about what was playing, you simply moved to one of the stools in the kitchen area and sat down. Sunha was coming down to let you up and you wouldn’t figure the show out by the time she arrived anyways.
Sure enough, Sunha came down and before the show’s next scene, you two were walking up three flights of stairs to get to their dorm. A night of movies, food, and gossiping awaiting you. It was a comfortable and fun time and occasionally one of Minju’s other friends would join but tonight you were guaranteed that it was only you three, something you were grateful for..
“You have missed sooo much drama, Y/n-ah. I literally. It is crazy. You know that Kim Seokjin moved out after him and Pak Sooji broke up… well you wouldn’t believe it but since then, she’s had like five different guys over! I am starting to think that the rumors of her cheating are ture.” Sunha started as soon as the door to their dorm was closed, a bag of popcorn and a glass of wine finding its way into your hands as they kept talking, filling you in on everything that you missed.
You weren’t really one for drama but, especially when meeting with Sunha and Minju (after not being able to for a whole month), you humor it some.
“Oh I doubt that! I think they just grew apart.”
“Minju! Growing apart doesn’t include loud fighting as well! My friend, Jisoo, lives next to Pak Sooji. She said there was tons of screaming and yelling the night that Kim Seokjin moved out. She almost called the police apparently.”
“She’s over dramatic. They didn’t have that bad of a fight. I was in the dorm. The walls are thin. There is no way others wouldn’t have known what the fight was about if that was the case.”
You simply nodded along as Minju and Sunha bickered over what possibly happened, content to watch and listen and learn about everything that you apparently missed. You lived off campus and didn’t keep up with the social interactions of everyone on campus anymore. Just those who you enjoyed spending time with. Sunha and Minju quickly went off topic, instead talking about how one of their professors is having a kid and his students were planning a surprise party for him. It was cute and by the end of the night, the three of you had planned the whole party out to a T (even though you hadn’t had a class with that professor in a long while, they were a campus favorite).
It was almost midnight when the first of multiple calls from your prank caller started.
“Hello. We have your pregnancy test results.” They started, a laugh distantly heard in the background.
You rolled your eyes and put the phone on speaker, signaling for Minju and Sunha to listen (they’d heard a little about your prank caller but hadn’t heard any of what they’ve said before), “Yeah? Am I pregnant?”
The prank caller coughed and you heard more laughing, “Yeah. With… with a foodbaby.”
“Oh? Makes sense.” You said lamely, your drunk mind too slow to think of anything but not wanting to hang up.
You heard laughing from Minju and Sunha as well as some on the prank callers end.
“Why do you keep calling me?”
“What? I-I… This is the first time I’ve called, ma’am. I work at the pregnancy clinic… in the… the place where doctors work… the…”
“Doctors office?” Someone near him supplied and Minju laughed again as someone in the background of the call started coughing.
“Yeah! I work at the doctors office.”
“Sure.” You sighed and hung up before rolling over and looking up at your friends.
They broke out laughing immediately, Minju bending over as she laughed so hard, her bed squeaking as she heaved. Laugher struck you as well, your eyes closing with tears as you kept laughing. It was contagious and you soon felt like you couldn’t stop. It was almost too much. You did stop though.
When the number called again.
“Hello. I am Pippinpaddlelopsin.” The prank caller said in an obnoxious accent, “I would like to order a taco.”
“Yeah. We don’t have tacos here sadly.” You started, fuzzy mind trying to think of something to say as you smacked your lips together and looked around the room, “Just… just bolts.”
The person on the other end snorted, “Yeah? How many can I buy then?”
“Uhhh… Just one. Actually… someone just bought it.” You smacked your lips together as you kept talking, eyeing Minju as she barely held her laughter in.
“Shame. Can I get your number instead then?”
“What?”
“Your number… can I get it.”
“No.”
Their laughter this time was more like screeches when you hung up and Minju almost fell off her bed as she cackled. This time though, you weren’t laughing. You were simply staring at your phone before adding the prank caller to your contacts as “Pippinpaddlelopsin”.
If what Minju and Sunha told you was true, you talked to the prank caller and their friends two more times that night. You just so happen to have a very hazy memory of all of it and only know that at one point you asked them for a taco which they didn’t have. There was also a moment after you chugged a glass of water where you called them, said nothing, and promptly hung up.
Sober you wasn’t laughing though. Instead you were grimacing as a number labeled “Pippinpaddlelopsin” texts you the Monday after the large amount of mutual prank calling that happened the night before.
What you didn’t expect was to actually enjoy the texts he sent you. At first, they were more random things, like asking if you wanted a taco at 2am (you said no), but about a month into the random texts, they started to get more personal with “How was your day”s (and actual conversations).
Pippin had apparently learned your name during your mutual prank calling (courtesy of Minju yelling it) yet he still hadn’t given you his name. You did know for a fact now that he was one of your neighbors because he admitted to getting your phone number from the communal bulletin board during one late night conversation. Every once in a while, you’d try to guess who he was and even scared your sweet neighbor down the hall when you momentarily thought that Pippin was him, but he still hadn’t told you who he was. Of course, as he kept telling you that your guesses were wrong, you kept getting closer to finding out who he actually was and you were determined to find out who he was. Minju was adamant that Pippin was your new neighbor Kim Seokjin. Sunha was putting her money on the teen who lived in 304 (who she claims has a large crush on you). You honestly didn’t know who Pippin could possibly be and found thoughts of who he could possibly be taking up your time almost as much as actual conversations with him..
“I am just saying. Call him and invite him over! We can have a girls and Pippin night!” Sunha said for the umpteenth time that night.
They had come over earlier after they’d finished classes and wanted to relax in a larger space than their tiny dorm (which you felt like would feel much later if they just cleaned it up some). It was all fine and dandy until they both started theorizing about who Pippin was and if you and him would ever end up dating (which while you kind of had developed a tiny tiny crush on the anonymous texter, you firmly stated that it would never happen). It was getting annoying. You loved your friends very dearly, but their constant theories didn’t help you and your desire to know who Pippin was.
“No! Pippin is a neighbor! He is probably busy. Besides, our night is for us. Not some boy to crash and sweep Y/n off her feet.”
“I am right here, you know!” You chimed in, rolling your eyes before going back to playing online games on your phone.
“Wait… what are you doing on your phone?”
“Playing games. What else would I be doing?”
“I don’t know! Texting the love of your life maybe?”
“Ok that is extreme.” You laughed anxiously, “Pippin isn’t the love of my life. I barely have a crush on him.”
“So you admit that you have a crush on him!”
“Oh fuck this! Give me your goddamn phone.” Minju sighed anxiously before snatching your phone from your hands and doing something on it.
“What are you doing?”
“Omo!” Sunha exclaimed as she read over Minju’s shoulder, “Omo!”
“What? What are they doing? Sunha!”
Your pleas fell to def ears as the two of them did something to your phone (the longer they had it, the more you started to suspect that they were texting Pippin) and it wasn’t until five minutes later when you finally yelled at them that they gave it back, all the while they were looking like sad puppies.
Even as you scolded them for using your phone without permission, you felt no remorse. They should know better than that and now you had a long apology to send to Pippin as well. Sunha and Minju left shortly after that. You were too upset at them to let them stay and they understood that you needed space. Eventually, you would meet up and talk it over and move on, but for now, you wanted to be angry and you wanted them to think about how rude and invasive what they just did was.
You didn’t check your phone the rest of that night, even the dings of your phone mounted as Pippin messaged you. It was all too much. After almost three hours of trying to calm down, you found yourself in the kitchen, nursing a cup of calming camomile tea and trying to think over the worst case scenarios. Pippin could stop messaging you entirely because of the major breach of privacy that just…
You sighed.
He knew some of your secrets. He could blab about them to whoever listened… but did you really think that Pippin was that kind of person?
A knock at the door stopped you in the middle of more calming breaths. Slowly, you walked over and looked through the peephole, confused as to who would be at your door late at night. It was Kim Seokjin. Your new neighbor who you rarely saw.
Why would he be at your door?
Slowly you opened your door, a confused look on your face and the more you opened the door, the more the confusion grew. He was panting, a thin layer of sweat on his face, and a small potted plant in his arms.
“H-Hello?” You started unsure as to why he was here, “How can I help you?”
“God, Y/n. You confess through text and then don’t respond when I say who I am and that I like you back and when I come to see you all you have to say is that? You’re so fucking adorable.” Seokjin said, a smile growing on his face as he pulled you into a hug.
What?
You confessed through text?
He likes you?
You’d never talked to him though… unless…
He was Pippin?
And did Minju and Sunha confess to Pippin for you?
“Y-your Pippin?”
“Yes, and I want to ask… Will you go on a date with me, Y/n-ssi?”
What?
You took a step back, your mind running at 100 steps a minute before you quickly turned around and ran to your phone. There were probably a hundred unread messages from Pippin… from Seokjin.
How.
You’d been talking to Seokjin this entire time?
What.
In shock you looked back at your door but Seokjin had followed you inside and was looking at you with a concerned expression. You looked between Seokjin and your phone repeatedly, your brain seeming to process the situation slower than molasses. The slowly changing look on Seokjin’s face wasn’t helping either.
“Y-You’re Pippin?”
“I am. I said that in text an hour ago… are you ok, Y/n-ssi?”
Do you tell him that your friends confessed for you?
Shit.
After the breakup he went through recently?
“I… I was so scared after I sent that… the confession that… I… I haven’t checked my phone since. I… I was so sure that you’d shut me down and I… I wanted to prepare myself for that.” You lied, hoping it was believable.
For a second, Seokjin looked more confused than you felt before he nodded, “Well, I’m not turning your confession down. I think I like you romantically too. I want to try.”
You nodded slowly as blush sprung across your face, “That would be nice.”
“Yeah. It would be.”
“So…” Seokjin started before he extended the potted plant for you to grab, his ears a bright red, “Would you want to go on a date with me now? I know it’s late but I’d love to… if you want that is.”
Blush rose on your cheeks more as you accepted his plant, “I-I would love to… Just give me a minute to get ready? You caught me off guard.”
“Of course. Take all the time you need.” Seokjin opened and closed his mouth before he continued, “Is it ok if I wait here or would you rather I wait in my apartment and we can meet when you’re ready?”
“You can wait here. I will be finished soon.” You said before running off to put the plant somewhere and grab a bag to hold your wallet.
In less than five minutes, you were ready and with butterflies fluttering in your stomach, you left with Seokjin on your first date. It was amazing. The next day, you messaged Sunha and Minju and had a conversation about what they did wrong, what they could do better in the future (just not steal someone’s phone and all), and how amazing your date was.
On your third date, you confessed about what actually happened that led to him confessing. He blushed and the two of you had a good laugh (he also seemed glad that you gave your friends a stern talking to after). By the fifth date, you were fairly positive you were madly in love with Seokjin and by the time you two had your sixth date, you found yourself regularly hanging out with him outside of dates. From studying together to getting together with his friends and yours and doing stuff as a large group, you found yourself falling more and more. During your graduation party, Seokjin and you managed to sneak off to your bedroom for some quiet and in each other's arms, you shared “I love you”s. By the time Seokjin graduated undergrad as well and you were well in your grad school, you’d managed to find a nice spacious apartment to share.

There are many renditions of the tale of “Snow White”, but the real story is only known by few. So before we begin, let’s clear a few things up. The story is not about a ditzy princess and a blood thirsty, ostentatious queen. There are no seven dwarves or happy-go-lucky songs. Now that that’s been cleared, let the story begin.
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far far away, a prosperous, young prince had recently assumed the throne. The prince knew he was a handsome man, with lips red as the rose, hair back as ebony, and skin white as snow. He became known as the Little Snow White Prince. Yes, Prince Seokjin was as fair as they came.
But with his beauty, came with vain and envy. The young prince was foolish and spent the kingdom’s money on himself. His royal advisor, a wicked and power hungry man, let Seokjin waste the kingdom’s money. Soon the villages grew poor and sickly. They grew angry as the prince blindly spent their money, unaware of the Royal Advisor’s increase in taxes.
Riots began to break out, but the prince remained oblivious to it all. Until he was forced out of the castle. The Royal Advisor had told him if didn’t leave, the rioting villagers would kill him. So the Little Snow White Prince left, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to.
To make his point apparent, the Roya Advisor sent his best hunters after the prince. They chased him into the woods, letting nature take care of him. For many days, the Prince wandered alone, lost within the vast forest. Cold and starving, Seokjin stumbled upon an old house. It was falling apart and was covered in a layer of dirt, but, in his desperate state, he went to the front door and knocked feebly. Just as the door open, sleep deprivation took over, leaving him passed out on the front steps.
When Seokjin woke up, he was in a hard bed, covered in an itchy blanket. “Hello?” he called weakly. When there was no response, he heaved himself out of bed. He walked to the door, pulling the heavy wood open. Voices echoed from down the stairs. Slowly and silently, he crept down the stairs. As he drew nearer, he could hear what the voices were saying.
“Who is he?” asked one voice, followed by a yawn.
“I can tell you who he is,” came the voice of a young boy’s voice. “He’s that no good Snow White, the Prince who reduced us to nothing more than orphans.”
“Jungkook,” warned another voice.
“Namjoon, he has a point. We have nothing. The Prince took everything we had and then some.”
“But did you see his condition?” asked another. “He was on death’s front steps.”
Having heard enough, Seokjin stepped into the doorway. Six boys sat around a small table. They fell quiet when they saw Seokjin. “You’re right,” he mumbled, wrapping his arms around himself. “I am Prince Seokjin, the Snow White Prince. I’m--I’m the reason everything is in ruin.”
The six boys looked at Seokjin in pity. He was just a kid like them, alone in this world without a home and no family. “What are you doing here?” asked one of the boys. He had brown hair and was wearing soot covered clothing.
“I was cold and I just--”
“No, what’re you doing here? Alive? The Royal Advisor said you died.” Seokjin stared at the boys.
“N-no. I’m very much alive.”
“Then why aren’t you in the castle?” asked another boy. He had blonde hair and was wearing a shirt made of carpet patterns and grey pants. “Why did the Royal Advisor say you were dead?”
“Obviously he’s a power hungry psycho who let you do whatever you want. Oh my god, he wanted this to happen,” the one referred to as Namjoon said. He had a black, dread mohawk and was clad in baggy clothes.
“Whatever the case, I left and I am not going back,” Seokjin declared. He sneezed, shivering slightly. “I thank you for your hospitality, but I should get going.”
“Yes, you should.” Seokjin guessed this was Jungkook. He couldn’t be more than ten-years-old, dressed in clothes too big and with unkempt hair.
“You’ll die out there,” said Namjoon. “You need food and rest. You should stay here.”
“I don’t want to be a burden.”
“Nonsense! After all, you’re one of us now.” The boy who had spoken had spiked, black hair and had a mask covering the lower half of his face. “Welcome to our mini family of rejects. I’m your hope, you’re my hope, I’m J-Hope. That’s Suga” J-Hope pointed to a boy sitting in a chair tucked away in the corner. He had orange-red hair and torn clothing. “That’s Jimin, V, and Jungkook. And this is our leader, RM.”
Seokjin nodded to each boy. He felt strangely at ease with the six boys. The leader stepped forward, offering his hand. Seokjin smiled, shaking Namjoon/RM’s hand. Welcome to Bangtan, Seokjin.”
“Jin. Call me Jin.”
From then on, the Snow White Prince was Jin. Ten years passed, and with each passing day, Jin grew more fair, both in beauty and personality. As the years went by, Jin grew alongside the boys, forming special bonds with each of them. His time with them had humbled him. For the most part. He cooked for them and nurtured them.
With the passing years, the kingdom continued its steady decline. With the decline, the boys turned to the old abandoned mines. They reinforced the support beams and began mining for precious gems. Each day they tunneled further and further, collecting diamonds, rubies, emerald, and sapphires. They supplied the villages with enough jewels to keep them sufficed and the rest were hidden away. The villages grew fond of the seven boys, they grew to love the seven boys.
Riots continued to break out. Their money was continually taken and thrown into a vault. The people rebelled. Change was brewing on the horizon.
A young woman was running through the woods, desperately trying to outrun the Royal Advisor’s hunters. She wandered around the forest for some time before she stumbled upon an ancient hobble. She cautiously approached the house. She tried peeking through the windows, but it was too dark to see anything. She turned the knob of the front door and found it unlocked.
Stepping through the door, she found it was most definitely not abandoned. In fact, it was practically spotless. She ran her finger across the bookshelf in the front room. There wasn’t even a speck of dust. She wandered around the house curiously.
She went up the stairs, peeking into the different rooms. There were six in total, but there were seven beds. She walked around one of the rooms. It was the simplest room, a bed and a nightstand. Tucked away in a corner was a vanity without a mirror. On the vanity sat a bejeweled brush.
“For such a dingy place, they sure have a lot of nice things,” she thought. A yawn slipped past her lips. She sat down on the bed which, to her surprise, was extremely comfortable. She laid back, letting her eyes flutter shut.
Jin marched home with the boys as he did every night. He watched the boys, observed how they’d changed over the decade he was with them. Taehyung’s hair was now an ash grey, and he had somewhat grown into his limbs. Hoseok’s once black hair was now red and he’d ditched the mask. Namjoon had (thankfully) lost the dreads and now had strawberry blonde hair. Jungkook, whom had grown the most and to love Jin the most, had traded in his loose-fitting closely and chose more form-fitting clothing. Jimin was now blonde and had more comfortable and colorful clothing. Yoongi had bright blue hair and took to wearing baggy clothing.
Jin looked down at his own apparel: dark clothing. He knew his hair was still black, but it had been ages since he’d gazed into a mirror. He never wanted to be reminded of who he used to be. He’d even gone as far as to have the mirror in his vanity removed.
Jin’s thoughts were interrupted when Namjoon stopped at the edge of the clearing where their home lied. He motioned for the boys to be quiet. They all slowly approached the edge of the clearing, peering around the trees. All the lights in their house were on.
“Who do you think is in there? Thieves? Hunters? Pirates?” Taehyung asked with wide eyes.
“If we were being robbed, they wouldn’t have turned the lights on? If it were hunters, there would be horses. Pirates wouldn’t be in the middle of the forest?” Yoongi pointed out.
“Then who’s in the house?” Hoseok inquired looking back at the house.
“We’re not going to find out cowering behind trees,” Jungkook said. Before Namjoon could stop him, Jungkook dashed towards the house. The rest of the boys followed, careful to remain quiet.
Jungkook opened the front door, peeking his head through. After making sure the coast was clear, he let the other boys in. They split up and searched the lower level of the house. “Anything?” Namjoon inquired softly. The boys shook their heads.
A rustle made them whip their heads towards the stairs. They all exchanged looks before quietly ascending the stairs. The rustling was coming from Jin’s room. They approached the room slowly. Pushing the door open, they silently crept into the room.
They stopped when they saw whom had made the noise. A beautiful maiden laid fast asleep in Jin’s bed. She was clad in tight leather and looked at peace. Jin stared at her in awe. He’d never seen someone so beautiful, ever.
“It’s--it’s a girl!” Taehyung squeaked.
“She’s really pretty,” Jimin said, his cheeks rosy.
“She’s trouble and she needs to leave,” Jungkook huffed.
“Oh, you’re a big, ol’ grump,” Hoseok whined. “She’s not hurting anyone.”
“She broke into our house,” he pointed out.
“But she didn’t hurt anyone,” Hoseok countered.
The girl shifted. Voices pulled her from her peaceful slumber. Opening her eyes, she saw seven boys around her age, standing around the bed. She let out a surprised and all seven heads turned towards her. They stared at her, a range of emotions on their faces.
“Uh, how do you do?” she inquired. They continued to stare at her. “Um, I said, ‘how do you do?’.”
“How do you do what?” one boy snapped. She stared at the boys in shock. She examined each of their faces carefully, until you got to the last boy. He was quite handsome. He had red lips, black hair, and skin white...as…
“Little Snow White!”
Jin stared at the girl. It’d been years since he’d heard that name, let alone someone call him by it. He stared at her curiously. “Who are you?” he asked cocking his head to the side.
She stared back at the handsome man, almost caught in a trance. She couldn’t believe she had found the Little Snow White Prince. Though, he wasn’t exactly little. He was quite tall and had extremely broad shoulders. “Y/N,” she answered. “Who are you guys? Do you live here?”
The boys shot nervous glances to Namjoon, unsure what to do. “Yes, we live here,” he replied stepping forward. “My name is RM, and these are my brothers: J-Hope, V, Suga, Jungkook, Jimin, and Jin.”
Y/N nodded, eyes stills fixed on Jin. He was watching RM, avoiding her gaze. “What’re you doing here?” he asked.
“I-- uh--I pissed off the Royal Advisor’s hunters,” she told him, sparing him a glance. “Pro-tip, when they say, ‘drop to your knees’, don’t reply with, ‘I’m not your mother’.” The ones called V and Jimin giggled.
“As fascinating as your story is, it’s time for you to leave,” Jungkook announced. “We don’t need a troublemaker here.”
“Please don’t send me away,” you pleaded, jumping to your feet. “My village is dying, but since I found Prince Seokjin, there’s hope!”
“Prince Seokjin is dead,” spat bitterly. “The boy you’re looking for is long gone. If you want to help your village, you’ll leave.” Jin walked out of his room, heading to the kitchen to start dinner.
Y/N chased after him, ignoring the other boy’s protests. “How could you say such a thing?” He ignored her. “Excuse me, I’m talking to you.” He continued to ignore her. “Your people are suffering! They’re dying and need their leader. They need you, do you even care?”
Jin slammed down the knife he was holding, spinning around. The heartbreak was evident in his eyes as tears threatened to spill. “Of course I care! I’ve always cared. That’s why I left. I was only fifteen when I accumulated the throne, and in a matter of months the kingdom fell. By the time I realized what had actually happened, it was too late.”
His confession brought tears to Y/N’s eyes. She blinked them away. “You may not have been able to do anything then, but you can do something now,” she offered. He shook his head.
“What am I supposed to do?”
“Fight, dammit!” you shouted. “March in there and demand your throne!”
“And you just believe they’re just going to hand the throne to an orphan prince because I said so?” Jin retorted.
“Yes, I do believe. And I’m willing to bet those other boys believe in you too.” Jin stared at Y/N, his gaze cold and hard.
“This isn’t some fairytale. Wishing on stars isn’t going to magically fix everything. I’m sorry, but you’re wasting your time and your village’s.” Jin turned away, resuming making dinner. “Feel free to stay for dinner and the night. I know how the hunters can be.”
Y/N stormed outta the kitchen, angrier than a disrupted hornet’s nest. A hand grabbed her arm, pulling her into the hallway. The six boys were staring at her sympathetically. “Don’t take what he said to heart,” Jimin told her.
“It’s a sensitive topic for him,” J-Hope added.
She sighed. “But why? Why isn’t he willing to fight for us? You guys would stand with him, wouldn’t you?”
“We’d die for him, but that’s not the point,” Jungkook said.
“The point is, what can seven orphans do?” She looked down at her feet, deflated. Y/N felt she had to convince Jin to do something. Or there would truly be no hope for the kingdom.
Jin made dinner in silence. He let himself sink deep into thought. He let his mind wander. He thought long and hard, about nothing and everything. Jin ate dinner in silence. He let Hoseok lead the conversation as he retreated further into himself.
As Jin was about to climb the stairs, he saw Y/N lying down on the couch “Hey, uh, Y/N,” he called. She glanced over at him. “Do you want to, um, just--follow me.” She stood up, making her way to him.
He lead her up the stairs, to his room. “You can sleep here,” he told her, lighting a candle.
“Where will you sleep?” she inquired.
“Downstairs,” he replied simply.
She grabbed his arm, shaking her head. “I understand you’re trying to be a gentleman, I’m not going to kick you out of your room,” she told him. He opened his mouth to say something, but she held her hand up, silencing him. “I also know you’re not going to let me sleep downstairs. So, I propose we share the bed. It’s definitely big enough, and, if the boys say anything, they’ll get a jab in the shoulder. Deal?” A ghost of a smile crossed over his face. He nodded.
Y/N fell back onto his bed, happily surrounded by comfort. Jin climbed in next to her, pulling the covers over the both of them. She asleep almost instantly, but he stayed up, watching you in wonder. He didn’t know what it was, but you left him in awe. And with that feeling, he drifted off to sleep.
Jin woke up to her sleeping form next to his. He stared at her. She looked at peace, and he was slightly jealous. Though Jin was content with his life, he could never truly be at peace. There was always a dull ache in his chest. It was why he never went to town, seeing the people shattered his already cracked heart. He ran a timid hand across her cheek before he carefully crept out of his bed.
Y/N awoke with a set plan. Jin wasn’t in bed with her. She sat up slowly, stretching her arms. Sunlight shone through his window.
She went downstairs, finding the house completely empty. In the kitchen, a nice breakfast sat with a note. “Enjoy breakfast, it should last you until you reach your village. x Jin,” it read.
She threw the note down in disdain. Of course he would try to get rid of her. Right when there was glimmer of hope, someone messed it up. She needed to show him just how much the kingdom needed him. How much she needed him.
When Jin arrived home, the scent of apples enveloped him. He slowly made his way to the kitchen, to her. He leant against the door frame, crossing his arms. He followed her movements intensely. “Didn’t realize you were the apple pie type,” he commented.
She turned around, an amused smirk on her face. “I’m not. I actually really hate apples.” The ghost of a smile pulled at the corners of his mouth.
“I smell something amazing,” Taehyung called. He jogged into the kitchen, slightly drooling.
Jungkook followed, sniffing the air excitedly. The other boys soon followed suit, sitting down at the table. “Hope you boys like apple pie,” Y/N hummed.
Jin sat down, staring at her with a quirked brow. He may have spent the last decade shut away from society, but he knew a bribe when he saw one. He watched her intently as she set the pie in front of him.
“When was the last time you went into town, Seokjin?” she asked sitting across from him. Jin closed his eye, clicking his tongue.
“We’re not discussing this--”
“Actually, we are,” Y/N interrupted. “You see, I decided to do some digging. The town knows you’re alive. What’s even better is that they believe you’re putting together an army. They’re preparing to fight for you.”
“I’m not making anyone fight for me!” Jin exploded.
“You’re not. They’re doing it of their own free will. They need you Seokjin. They need the their Little Snow White Prince,” she replied softly.
“She’s right.” Everyone turned to Jungkook shocked. He was staring at Jin with a wide range of emotions on his face. “The people need you--we need you.”
Jin’s voice broke, “I can’t.”
Hoseok took Jin’s hand, clutching it. “Jin, you’re our brother. We know you. We believe in you,” Hoseok told Jin.
“You don’t want us to fight for you? We won’t. But we’ll fight with you,” Namjoon added.
“This is who you are Jin. You can’t deny that anymore, but you’ll always remain our brother. Always,” Jimin assured him.
“How? How can I fight? Lead?” Jin asked staring at his hands.
“Rally the people. Show them you’re ready to defend them. Show them you care,” Y/N said exasperated. An idea popped off in her head. “I’ll train you.”
“What?” all seven boys asked at once.
“I’ll train you. What? Why do you think the huntsman wanted me on my knees, because I’m pretty? No, it’s because I know my way around a sword.”
“Can we trust you?” Jungkook asked crossing his arms. “No offense, but someone who has multiple hunters after her is a bit suspicious.”
“As of right now, I’m your only hope,” Y/N told him honestly. He shrugged, convinced; the other boys nodded in agreement. Jin continued to stare at Y/N. She intrigued him, but so did a good murder mystery. He tilted his head, evaluating her.
“Okay,” he finally said. “Train us.” Y/N smirked triumphantly. “There’s just one condition.”
Y/N’s smirk dropped as she stared into Jin’s eyes. “Tell me, what’s your angle? Why are you so adamant on me taking down the Royal Advisor? After all, I’m sure a woman your… stature, is more than capable of doing it yourself.” Y/N stared at him, chest heaving. She licked her lips, eyes shifting from boy to boy.
She straightened her spine, staring Jin dead in the eye when she answered, “He’s my father.”
There was silence as everyone watched Y/N. Then Jin slowly stood up, moving around the table. He grabbed her with one arm, yanking her out of the chair and tossing her against the wall. He took his forearm and pinned her against the wall. His normally soft, brown eyes were now swirling black orbs as he stared her down, his broad stature towering over hers.
“You treacherous snake,” he hissed. “Your father took everything from me, from my brothers. And you have the damn audacity to ask for my help?”
Y/N swallowed thickly. “I know I don’t have the right to--”
“You’re damn right you don’t!”
“--but please, we need your help,” she pleaded.
“Screw you,” he spat. “I’d rather die than help you.” He pushed off of you, turning around.
“Then don’t do it for me, do it for your people.”
“I should kill you and his wretched bloodline,” Jin seethed. Y/N turned her head away, hurt. Jin knew he’d crossed the line, but he refused to apologize. He was hurting. It was like she’d taken a serrated knife and slit open old scars.
“Wait, am I the only confused by the fact that the Royal Advisor has a daughter?” Jimin interrupted. Taehyung murmured in agreement.
“Good point, if your his daughter, how come we’ve never heard of you?” Suga asked. There were murmurs from the others.
Y/N dropped her gaze, staring at the floor. “My father was, unimpressed, with me being a woman. After all, what man wants a daughter as an heir. But considering my mother died in childbirth, he worked with what he got. He--he turned me into a weapon. A weapon he could use at his disposal,” Y/N growled. The boys shuffled around awkwardly. “If you think I’m working for him, toss that idea out the window. I resent him and everything he is and has done.
“Seokjin, I’m begging you, please. Help us. We need you--I need you. Seokjin. Please.” Y/N and the boys stared at Jin.
At the boys stares, Jin relented. He sighed, collapsing into the nearest chair. He ran a tired hand down his face. “Fine. I relent. Teach us what you know.” Y/N sighed in relief. “But if at any point you betray us, I won’t hesitate to kill you. This is your last chance to leave.”
Y/N stared at Jin, eyes ablaze. “I’ll see you at dawn tomorrow. Evening gentleman, Seokjin.” Y/N nodded her head before heading off to sleep.
Time and Y/N were not kind to those boys. Everyday, from dusk to dawn, Y/N trained the boys. She trained those boys not only in combat but in etiquette, something the boys truly lacked. Months of training and the boys were finally turning into men. Well educated, mannered, and trained men. They were slowly warming up to her, the pies helped with that. Well, six of the seven boys were warming up to Y/N and her pies.
Jin was another story. No matter how hard Y/N tried, he always kept her at a distance. There were, of course, moments when he would let his guard down, where the two of them could get close to each other. Sometimes emotionally, sometimes physically. Jin was an enigma of a man.
“You’re ready.” You stared at the boys, thoroughly impressed with how well they’d done in training. The boys cheered, heading inside for celebratory drinks.
Y/N followed but she went upstairs, to Jin’s room. He was standing by the window, his broad, and now muscular, body covering most of it. His forearm rested against the window frame. “Are you sure they’re ready?” he inquired, not turning his body away from the window.
“No, but it’s now or never Seokjin,” she told him.
He inhaled sharply, tisking. He pushed himself away from the window, but continued to stare out it. “I told you not to call me that,” he reminded her.
“You didn’t have a problem with it a couple nights ago,” she said smirking.
“That’s why it’s a problem now,” he explained. “We don’t do anything until they’re a hundred percent ready.”
“That’s time we don’t have,” she said stepping into the room. “The time is now. They know the plan, and they’ll be able to defend themselves.”
Jin stalked towards Y/N, his frame towering over hers. “After all these months, how are you still so adamant about this?” he whispered, mouth brushing the shell of her ear.
“You know why.”
He hummed, resting his hands on her waist. She gripped the edge of his sweater, pulling him closer. He nudged his nose against hers, brushing his lips across hers.
He pulled away when she leant in, pulling her hands away from his sweater. She jaw clenched as she snatched her hands away from him.
“It’s time to rally. Be dressed, downstairs, and ready to leave,” she ordered leaving.
Y/N stood downstairs, lacing up her boots. She slipped on her gear, strapping it on tightly. The boys filed in, strapped in their gear. “Damn Y/N, if things work out, you know where my room is,” Suga whistled, eyeing her shamelessly.
She grinned. “Might just take you up on that offer Sugaboo,” she said with a wink. Jin rolled his eyes, crossing his arms. “Alright boys listen up.” All eyes turned towards Y/N.
“This is how things are gonna go. J-Hope and V, you’re both going to to the center of town and cause chaos. Amp the people up, start riots, liven up the revolt. The hunters will be drawn to you. Keep them there.
“Jimin and Suga, you two will be leading the volunteered fighters to the front gates. The majority of the guys will be sent to ‘handle’ you. Give them pure hell. Keep them there.
“Jungkook and RM, your guys job is the most important. You’ll be taking on the Royal Advisor’s personal guard. They’ll be stationed outside of whatever room he’s in. Get them away from the room.
“Jin and I will take out the Royal Advisor. Once he’s gone, Jin will take back his throne and he’ll restore order.”
“Y/N, sweetheart, I was wondering where you’d skipped off to,” the Royal Advisor cooed. She tensed, faltering under his intense gaze. “I s’pose you’re here to kill me, Seokjin. My, how you’ve grown. You know, you look just like your mother. Gorgeous woman, smart too. She was lethal, but I was smarter.
“Where are my manners? Please have seat. Sit, sit!” the Royal Advisor said waving his hands. Y/N and Jin sat down, side glancing each other. “The Little Snow White Prince, here to reclaim his throne. I must say, that’d make quite the story.”
The Royal Advisor set his gaze on to Jin. There was a glint in his eye, an angry, dark glint. Jin refused to break under his stare. Jin sat up straight in his chair, matching the Royal Advisor’s hard stare. “You know how this has to end,” Jin said.
He nodded. “I’ll go quietly, on one condition.” He spared Y/N a warning glance. “I want you to take one bite of that apple.”
Jin turned to the one red, shiny apple on the table. His gaze shifted between the apple and the Royal Advisor. “Just one?” He nodded. Jin shrugged, grabbing the apple.
It was almost to Jin’s mouth when Y/N snatched it from him, taking a bite. Jin quirked a brow. Y/N began to choke, foam dripping from her mouth. She dropped to the ground, spazzing uncontrollably. Jin called out to her, but she gave no response. Then she stilled, eyes fluttering shut.
“Well that took a surprising twist.”
Jin turned to the Royal Advisor who had a look of complete indifference. “Such a pity, really,” he added peering down at her. “She could have been so much more.”
A new sensation burned its way through Jin, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. Jin turned to the Royal Advisor, hands trembling. He gripped the hilt of his sword, jaw clenching. “You son. Of. A. Bitch,” he spat through clenched teeth.
He pulled his sword out, swinging. The Royal Advisor narrowly dodged the blow. He pulled out his sword, and the two of them engaged in epic battle. Swords clashed together echoing off the stone walls.
“You took, my throne.” Clash! “You destroyed, my kingdom.” Clash! “You killed Y/N!” Jin knocked the Royal Advisor’s sword from his hands, sending it flying. Jin brought his sword to the Royal Advisor’s chest, forcing him to his knees.
“The Royal Advisor chuckled darkly. “You don’t have the balls to kill me, boy.”
Jin’s eyes narrowed, his grip tightening. “See you in hell, bastard.” Jin drove the sword deep into his chest. Blood sputtered out of his mouth as he fell to the ground, sword lodged in his chest. Blood pooled on the ground around him, standing out against the white tile.
Jin rushed to Y/N’s side, cradling her body. Tears spilled down his face as he apologized profusely. The boys came barreling in, stopping upon spotting Y/N. The boys bowed their head, tears streaking their cheeks.
Jin clutched Y/N to him, her back to his chest. He rocked her back and forth, sobs echoing through the room. His continuous motion formed an almost Heimlich maneuver, but it was enough to dislodge the small bit of apple lodged in her throat.
Y/N coughed herself back to life. She glanced up at Jin. “I believe I once told you, ‘I really hate apples’,” she said. He laughed in disbelief, fresh tears stinging his eyes. She turned her head to the boys. “You guys look like shit. Have you guys been crying? Bitches.” The shook their heads at her, smiling.
I’d like to say everything turned out fine and dandy, but that’s not the way the world works. The entire infrastructure of the kingdom’s economy had all but fallen. It would take years to rebuild everything, not to mention the money it would cost to do so.
Y/N and Jin worked for years on rebuilding and fixing things. Jin moved the boys into the castle, giving them jobs as his personal guards and let them help him in the rebuilding. Over time, the two of them married and built their own family, their own happily ever after.
So, I guess every story does have some type of happy ending.
You and Jin loved your one on one time just as much as the two of you enjoyed alone time with friends. Which led to you last night having been out for karaoke with friends, getting way too drunk and one of your male friends helping you to yours and Jin’s shared place, he had gotten you into the house, into the bed and let you wear his shirt which was more comfortable than your dress and after handing over his shirt he had left knowing you were safe. Problem was Jin wasn’t home at the time either so he didn’t see the innocence in the act, and frankly even though he was pissed so were you. He had promised to stay home, and more was usually when you had gotten drunk he would place a glass of water on your nightstand but it wasn’t there.
You groaned a little too loudly getting out of bed, stomping your way in to the kitchen only to jump of fright when you noticed Jin staring directly at you holding a glass of water of his own. You took a deep breath while deciding to be the bigger person of the two of you, “can I get a sip?” you smiled weakly at your usually loving boyfriend but instead of being civil he chugged the rest of his water and with that your face turned into a frowny one. “That’s not my shirt?” he barely made any effort to point to it but you knew what shirt he meant. “No? it’s Hyun Woo’s?” He sighed deeply before trying to move past you and out of the kitchen, “Well then maybe date him since you like his shirt so much”. You crossed your arms at his stupid remark, letting him move past you but following after his every move.
“Jin? It was innocent? I was drunk and uncomfortable in my dress and you weren’t there to give me yours?” You sighed, reaching for his hand but to no avail. “I have shirts in OUR closet!”, you looked at him a little frightened by his sudden change in tone, “Jin, I was drunk I didn’t think that far?”. “Did you fuck him too?!”, you didn’t think your eyes could get any wider but you were wrong, “JIN” you stopped yourself from continuing with your raised voice, “you’re not listening to me?” He sighed, almost as if he finally realized how stupid he had been but rather than hugging you and begging for forgiveness he grabbed his jacket and headed for the front door, quickly sliding his feet into some flip flops. “Jin!” You sighed, gripping only the sleeve of his jacket, “can you please stay here with me?” you looked at him trying to find his eyes through is grown out bangs. He looked at you for what felt like forever before finally pulling you into the hug you had been longing for. “Nothing happened?”, “Nothing happened baby”.

A/N: This was actually one of the first fanfic ideas I had but I never really knew how to progress the storyline until now. Even though Yoongi is my bias I kind of find it hard to write in his perspective because he’s pretty complicated. Anyway, hope you guys like this!
That damn Min Yoongi.
Considering the odds, it felt unlikely that you two would ever meet. He was a Slytherin in his second year while you were an incoming Hufflepuff. You spent most of your time swinging at Bludgers in the Quidditch field, he spent long hours playing the piano in the Room of Requirement. And Hogwarts was a big school, bigger than you ever imagined.
And yet, chance somehow brought you two together on your first day of class. You were wandering the hallways lost when a silver, swan Patronus swooped in and led you to your room. Min Yoongi tried to hide from you that day, but the sight of his dark, green robes and inky, black hair remained imprinted in your memory, saving it for the day when you would finally thank him.
That damn Min Yoongi.
That damn Min Yoongi who somehow made his way from hallway greetings to Quidditch games, lunch meetings, and more. He was there when you needed help for your first midyear exams, during the first Christmas you stayed in Hogwarts, the first time you went to Hogsmeade, and all the birthdays, feast days, and mini-celebrations in-between. He was there when you lost the Quidditch championships and cried all night and when you learned that some of your closest friends betrayed you. In turn, you were there for him through his panic attacks, through his long nights of playing, and through the mental battles he waged with himself.
You were always there for him, and him for you. That damn Min Yoongi.
The one who somehow made you feel breathless and excited and complete throughout the day just by knowing you two would meet after classes in the courtyard. The one who didn’t hesitate to have a snowball fight in the morning even though it was a Saturday. The one who made you feel like scrolling through black-and-white stock photos of couples with love quotes calligraphed on them. The one who confessed that he would do almost anything for you because of how much he loved you. That damn Min Yoongi, who could make you forget your anger and the steal the words from your mouth with only a smirk.
The one who really, really, really, convinced you to believe in a ‘forever’ or ‘the one’ like how girls and guys do in sappy, trashy, novels.
And now, he’s saying that he doesn’t love you anymore.
You’re dumbfounded, still stuck in that haze of good vibes you got since you woke up this morning and knew that you were going to see Yoongi again on the train to Hogwarts. You get this instead. And you feel yourself shattering into tiny pieces but at the same time you know that with a smirk and a joking laugh, Yoongi can put you back together again.
But he doesn’t, and you remain broken. Because he has that kind of power now.
That damn Min Yoongi, breaking your heart.
…
Yoongi was wrong to think that he could fully bring himself to see you like this. Before, he loved the fact that he could melt your heart just by saying the right words, no matter how few, during the right moments. Now, he knows that this power he has of some sort is a double-edged sword, because it could break you as well.
And now, he’s watching the full extent of it.
“Please tell me you’re joking,” you said, your voice barely louder than a whisper. “I-If you just told me you’re joking, even if it is a bad joke, I’ll forgive you. Just please, please tell me you’re joking.” The sound of your voice makes Yoongi’s breath catch in his throat. He knows you’re about to cry and he knows he can erase all these negative feelings by doing what you’re begging him to do. But he can’t.
“This girl can’t possible be any good for you. And if you’re not going to do anything about this relationship, then I will.”
Yoongi should have known he couldn’t possibly keep his relationship with you a secret from his parents for so long. It wasn’t like lying to them about joining his friends to watch the Quidditch World Championships in Bulgaria. Yoongi would allow his parents to lock him up for a week or two or three for that for all he cared, but if they knew about you, it wouldn’t just be him getting punished. Especially since you were Muggle-born.
And that’s why he had to do this right now. Telling you about it would only make you interfere with things and get even more hurt.
“Please tell me you’re joking,” you repeated, shaking your head. Yoongi could tell just how excited you had been earlier to see him. He could even tell that you dressed up extra nicely and even put on a bit of make-up this morning. Of course, Yoongi loved how you looked no matter what, but seeing you go out of your way to dress yourself up made him feel even softer.
He wanted so badly to say that it was all a joke. Telling the truth would make things hurt less, for the both of you. Yoongi just didn’t trust himself to be able to protect you.
“It’s not a joke,” he shakes his head. “I don’t think I love you any more.” Yoongi feels his own hands shaking and clenches them into fists. It wouldn’t surprise him if you suddenly started screaming at him or yelling ‘I hate you’, even if it was against your nature to. That would make things easier, if you hated him. But of course, you do neither of those things.
“Is something wrong?” you ask instead. “I-I know that you never do anything without proper reason and it’s probably me who’s been doing something wrong so please tell me. P-please tell me if I’m doing anything wrong.” You reach out to take his hand but quick as a flash, Yoongi slaps it away.
The sound is deafening and Yoongi turns away to shield himself from the look of hurt and disbelief on your face. ‘Such a pathetic loser,’ his mind echoes. Yoongi swallows, once, before saying “I’ve said what I’ve said. You’re just making this harder than it already is.” He doesn’t even have to lie.
And with that, he walks out of the train compartment, leaving you all alone.
It feels as if his entire world collapses.
…
For the most part, you are kind of glad that Yoongi left you alone in the train compartment.
The last words he said sounded so cold that it made you tear up almost instantly. You couldn’t even stand to see his face right now, or anything else. It didn’t take long before you had your knees curled up to your chest while you sobbed into your arms. Even now, you would accept Yoongi if it was still a joke. Sure, you’d beat him to a pulp for doing such a bad joke, but you would still accept him. From the looks of it though, it didn’t seem like he was coming back.
‘What did I do wrong?’ you thought as you continued to cry, searching through your mind for any mistake that you might have done that would cause Yoongi to break up with you. But that only made you sadder. Even in those moments when you thought he would break up with you, like when you accidentally skipped out on a date because of Quidditch practice, Yoongi didn’t. And if he didn’t like something that you did, he would tell you straight away.
“Y/n-noona?”
The sound of the train compartment door sliding open and Jimin’s voice startled you. You looked up with tears still running down your face to find Jimin and Hoseok standing in front of you.
“Hey, what happened? Is something wrong?” Hoseok asked, sliding into the seat next to you while Jimin took the one in front.
“Where’s Yoongi-hyung?” Jimin looked around. But one look at your face and a small shake of your head caused them to understand what had just happened.
“Was the fight that bad?” Hoseok asked, running a hand down your back soothingly. You felt your face scrunch up as you swallowed back a sob.
“H-he… broke up with me,” you hiccupped.
“N-no way…” Jimin breathed out in surprise. Even Hoseok had a look of disbelief on his face. “Hyung’s crazy about you. Did he say why?” You shook your head in response again.
“Oh Y/n…” Hoseok sighed, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you close to let you cry on his chest. You accepted the invitation gladly. Besides Yoongi, your housemates Hoseok and Jimin were always there for you during troubled times.
“Why would hyung hurt you like this?” Jimin wondered out loud and gently stroked your hair.
“I don’t know if it’s something I did wrong,” you sniffed. “Maybe I screwed up.”
“Not even that would cause Yoong-hyung to break up with you,” Hoseok reasoned. “I know he loves you too much for that.”
“Do you think something happened to him?” Jimin asked. “I mean, this doesn’t sound like him.”
“I thought so too,” Hoseok agreed. You sniffed and wiped your eyes before facing your friends.
“Well, if he did, wouldn’t he tell me?” you asked. “He always told me about his problems. Maybe he lost his trust in me…”
“Stop thinking that it’s all your fault noona,” Jimin shook his head. You bit your lip and looked down.
“It still hurts,” you said softly, clutching at the sleeve of your shirt. You always thought that heartbreak wasn’t a real thing but now it felt as if you were running short of breath. “Like, really hurts.” You felt yourself replaying Yoongi’s words again in his head, therefore causing the sobs in your chest to come out again.
“I know…” Hoseok sighed and patted you on the back. “Just let it all out Y/n.”
“We’re here for you, you know?” Jimin added, sitting beside you on the seat and giving you one of his signature soft hugs. It did little to ease the pain you felt though. Because it was either that Yoongi broke up with you because of something you did, or because of something he didn’t trust you enough to tell you about.
“Do you want us to talk to him?” Jimin asked gently. Hoseok nodded in agreement. You looked up at the two of them and contemplated the suggestion for a minute. They weren’t just your best friends after all, they were also Yoongi’s. And you knew that they would do anything to help you two out.
But right now, you felt too drained to confront anything. Sighing, you shook your head.
“Thank you, really. Maybe sometime but not now,” you said. “I think it’s best if I don’t see him yet.”
“We understand,” Hoseok nodded, rubbing your shoulder.
“We could always ask Jungkook to beat him up,” Jimin suggested. “But like, lightly.” You looked at him and laughed slightly at the sudden appearance of Jimin’s sadistic side.
“Maybe save that for later.”
…
Yoongi was completely numb by the time he entered the compartment on the opposite side of the train car from yours. Inside, Namjoon and Seokjin were there playing Wizard Chess. Normally, Yoongi would have said or at least waved hello in greeting but now, he slumped down on his seat the instant he got in.
“What’s wrong?” Seokjin spoke up, looking up at Yoongi right before he moved his knight across the board.
“I didn’t even say anything,” Yoongi mumbled as he stared out the window, hoping that the distraction would somehow help him hide his turmoil of feelings inside.
“Exactly so,” Seokjin answered.
“And didn’t you plan to sit with Y/n on the way to Hogwarts?” Namjoon added. Yoongi felt himself wince at the sound of your name.
“Something happened, didn’t it?” Seokjin pressed. Yoongi turned to look at his two friends who already abandoned their chess game once they sensed something was wrong with him. He could hide his feelings from you, most of the time, but man was it difficult to hide from Namjoon and Seokjin. Especially considering he’s known Seokjin all his life.
“…I broke up with her,” he finally said.
“What the fuck?” Seokjin stated without hesitation.
“I second the motion,” Namjoon raised his hand.
“I… I don’t want to talk about it,” Yoongi sighed and shook his head. But as usual, his friends ignored him and pushed further.
“Did she like… cheat on you or something?” Namjoon asked.
“Idiot,” Seokjin elbowed him harshly. “Y/n would never do that.”
“Can’t you two just drop it?” Yoongi snapped impatiently. The look on Seokjin’s face darkened.
“Your family found out about it, didn’t they?”
Yoongi bit his lip, feeling himself relive the harsh conversation he had with his father when he discovered the song he had wrote for you. Who knew the old, pureblood man knew how to turn on a CD player? He looked up at Seokjin and finally gave up trying to hide from his childhood best friend.
“Yeah…” he finally nodded.
“Shit…” Namjoon said. “So, you broke up with Y/n to keep her safe from them?”
“Pretty much,” Yoongi sighed. “I couldn’t tell her the real reason. She might end up really getting hurt if she chooses to get into the situation too much.”
“But… you still told Y/n you were breaking up with her,” Seokjin said. “She must have felt terrible about it.”
“She did.” Yoongi closed his eyes and found himself thinking about how he left you crying in the train compartment. Hopefully one of your friends came by to comfort you. Especially now since he couldn’t.
“The two of you don’t deserve to go through all of this,” Namjoon shook his head. “I can’t believe people are still close-minded about Muggle-borns.”
“We’ll help you find a way around it,” Seokjin said. “I mean, we’re in our seventh year! Only one more year of sticking around your parents.”
“That’s true,” Yoongi smiled a bit, but only a bit. “I am really trying to find a way out of this. I… I don’t think Y/n is the kind of person I want to lose in my life.” It was a miracle, after all, that a friendship between the two of you grew. That made your relationship practically a double miracle.
Yoongi’s fingers drifted from his lap into his pocket where he still kept the tape he was planning to give to you. Even though he used a laptop and sound mixing software to produce music, in his attic of course, away from his parents’ prying ears, there was still a specific kind of charm in mixtapes. Especially if Yoongi was planning to give it to someone. He was a sap at heart after all. Composing and finally recording the song Yoongi wrote for you himself made him a double sap.
But instead, he broke your heart, making him an award-winning asshole instead.
…
“Y/n… Y/n!”
The sound of Professor Sprout repeating your name finally snapped you out of a haze. You looked down and found that you poured way too much squid ink into the soil of the potted Saturnian Heather you were taking care of. The petals of the blossoms, which were supposed to be a light lavender, had turned into a dark purple.
“S-sorry Professor,” you stammered, putting away the pitcher of squid ink. Beside you, Hoseok glanced at you with a concerned expression on his face.
“Dear child, are you alright?” Professor Sprout asked, looking at you worriedly. You counted yourself lucky that the class you spaced out in today was hers. Professor Sprout never got mad at you, or anyone for that matter. “You seem quite… under the weather.”
“Just lacking a bit of sleep, Professor,” you smiled in reassurance. But nowadays, it was getting harder and harder to smile. Professor Sprout gave a small smile of concern before turning around to address another student.
“Here, you can neutralize the squid ink with this,” Hoseok said, passing you a small pail of extra Dragon Dung.
“Thanks…” you mumbled, taking the pail from him and half-heartedly sprinkling some inside your Saturnian Heather flowerpot.
“Hey,” Hoseok nudged you gently. “Want to sit this class out?” he asked.
“Nah, there’s only twenty minutes left,” you shook your head. “And besides, I’ve skipped too many classes already…” you added. Ever since Yoongi broke up with you, practically three weeks ago, you were miles away from your usual self. Not only did you feel so lonely, even with Hoseok and Jimin around constantly taking care of you, but you were stuck in this haze of worry over Yoongi. But as much as you wanted to ask him, it felt like he was trying to avoid you. And seeing him do that hurt. A lot.
“You don’t have to go to Quidditch practice later if you’re not so up to it,” Hoseok added.
“No way!” you protested.
“As team captain I—”
“Hey, I may be heartbroken but I’m still the team’s number one Beater,” you cut him off. Hoseok raised an eyebrow in surprise before cracking a smile.
“Right you are,” he said, patting your head.
“And besides, maybe hitting a few Bludgers might cheer me up a bit,” you added, smiling to yourself at the thought. Quidditch always managed to cheer you up. In addition, the first match of the season was Hufflepuff against Slytherin. The match was also moved earlier in the year, meaning your team was going to face Slytherin in a few days. Despite the short length of time the Hufflepuff team had to prepare, you trusted Hoseok to have a few tricks up his sleeve.
Right after Herbology class, you headed straight for your Common Room to put on your Quidditch robes. You always had about four extra spares, especially considering how much Hoseok murders the team with practice. Three of them were still getting laundered but you dug an arm inside the chest at the foot of your bed to pull out your last spare from underneath.
“Got it!” you smiled in triumph once your fingers found the soft, silk-like fabric of your Quidditch robe. You gripped it tightly, yanking it out of your trunk, along with a few other things.
Namely, all the mixtapes Yoongi gave you.
The smile on your face stayed static before slowly disappearing once your eyes landed on the cases and cases of mixtapes, each one with a playlist title and tracklist on the cover written in Yoongi’s handwriting. Even though you teased Min Yoongi for six years for being an ‘old school sap’ because of all the mixtapes he gave you, there was no doubt that you treasured every single one of them.
You reached out a hand and picked one of them up. The word ‘Confession’ was written on the side of the case. Yoongi always resorted to music whenever he couldn’t find the words to say how he felt. It was about a year old, a year of you listening to it over and over again.
Five years of friendship, one year of being in a relationship. Was it really just going to end here?
You shook your head, not wanting to think about it unless you were prepared to end up crying by yourself again. Carefully, you tucked all the mixtapes back into your trunk, grabbed your Quidditch robes, bat, and broom before heading out of the door. Maybe swinging at some Bludgers would clear your mind.
…
It was an exaggeration to say that Min Yoongi missed you terribly. Late at night he found himself holed up in the Room of Requirement. Not necessarily to play the piano, he actually didn’t have the strength to ever since he broke up with you, but just because he wanted to be by himself more than ever. When the loneliness became unbearable, he’d go talk to Seokjin or Namjoon, the only ones who really knew what was going on with him, or Jungkook around the Common Room. Despite the fact that he was still pretty young, Yoongi had to admit that he had this uncanny ability of knowing when something was wrong with him.
Right now, he was sitting on his bed in the empty dormitory area. Yoongi still had a free cut since he wasn’t taking Herbology class any more in his last year. In his hand was a picture of the two of you from a few months ago. It was taken after Hufflepuff won the Championship match against Gryffindor. You were carrying the trophy with an exhausted but fulfilled smile on your face. Yoongi stood beside you with an arm wrapped around your shoulders and a proud, gummy smile on his face.
He missed you terribly.
“Hyung! It’s lunchtime!” Yoongi heard Jungkook call as he climbed up the stairwell leading to the dormitory.
“I’m not hungry…” Yoongi replied, tucking the photograph away under his pillow. Jungkook emerged from the doorway and sighed when he saw his hyung.
“You look terrible,” he said bluntly, walking over and sitting down on the bed. It was true. The lack of sleep formed dark circles under Yoongi’s eyes and he was pretty sure his face looked thinner than usual because he wasn’t eating well.
“Thanks for the compliment,” he rolled his eyes and flopped down on the bed.
“Still thinking about Y/n?” Jungkook asked, hovering over him. “I’ve been talking to Jimin. You know she’s just as wrecked about this as you are.”
Leave it to the maknae to be incredibly frank. If Yoongi didn’t feel so fucked up inside he would have laughed. “So, what are you implying?”
“For you two to talk it out?” Jungkook shrugged. “I’m Y/n-noona’s friend as much as I am yours’. I don’t like seeing either of you hurt…”
“It’s not that easy…” Yoongi sighed.
“I know,” Jungkook nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. “But you know what is easy? Getting you to eat lunch at least.”
“I’m not hungry…” Yoongi muttered.
“Not an option,” Jungkook said. And with that, he hooked his hands under Yoongi’s arms and pulled him right off the bed.
“Hey! HEY! Let go of me!” Yoongi fought. But Jungkook’s muscles were way too strong.
“Time to eat lunch,” Jungkook sang as he continued to drag Yoongi out of the dormitory, only letting him go once he was sure that Yoongi was coming with him to the Great Hall.
“Ahh, you finally dragged him out,” Seokjin greeted once Jungkook dragged him over to the Slytherin table. Seokjin and Namjoon were already there eating and playing yet another Wizard Chess game.
“Hey,” Yoongi greeted and sat down beside Namjoon.
“Here, you need some protein,” his friend said, passing him a plate of grilled meat.
“I’ll have some,” Jungkook volunteered, clicking his chopsticks to get a piece before Seokjin pushed a plate of salad in front of him.
“You need less protein, you muscle rabbit,” Seokjin said. “Eat some vegetables this time.”
“Fine,” Jungkook pouted, doing as he was told. But judging by the way he eyed the plate of fried chicken next to him, he was still bound to get his share of protein.
Lunch with his friends did turn out quite okay, especially since Yoongi was able to finally get himself out of his room and eat a little. He could also tell his friends were working hard at cheering him up or distracting him somehow. Still, everything felt kind of different from when everyone was around eating together. Not only you, but Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung as well. But now, he could tell they were off taking caring of you instead. Yoongi found himself really missing his other friends.
After about twenty minutes, Yoongi decided to go back to his room and get ready for his next class. As much as he really didn’t feel like going, he knew that maybe it would distract him from thinking about other things. However, once he passed by the Quidditch field on the way, he couldn’t help but notice the Hufflepuff team in their bright yellow robes flying around the pit.
‘Right, they’ll be facing Slytherin soon,’ Yoongi remembered, leaning back against a wall to watch you guys. You were there too, swinging your bat at Bludgers like it was nobody’s business. Yoongi smiled as he watched you, you always were in your element whenever you played Quidditch.
Hoseok was busy drilling the Chasers at the other end of the court while the Beaters and the Seeker trained by themselves. You and your partner Beater seemed to be practicing by chasing after Bludgers and batting them at each other. But today, you seemed a bit… out of focus. The other Beater, Yoongi couldn’t remember if his name was Mike or Michel, managed to hit Bludgers that you were narrowly able to miss or bat back. Usually, you were the one doing that in practice. Now, you seemed to be distracted as you stared blankly ahead during some points.
“Y/n…” Yoongi found himself calling out loud when Mike/Michel hit the Bludger a bit to close to your head. You raised your bat a bit to block, but just barely. You didn’t seem notice, however, that Mike/Michel hit another Bludger right after, aimed at your broom. “Y/n!” he yelled even louder, running out on the Quidditch field to warn you. Yoongi saw you turn to him right as the Bludger hit the back side of your broom. Sending you spinning.
By now, everyone else in the Quidditch team came to watch. Yoongi watched in fear as you gripped your broom tightly while spiraling in the air. Finally, you managed to stop spiraling by leaning your body against one side long enough. Yoongi’s fear completely dissipated by the time he saw you and your fellow Beater fly down slowly to the ground.
…
“A-are you okay?” Mike asked once your feet hit the ground. “I-I should have been more careful. I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright,” you smiled reassuringly despite the fact that your brain still fell a bit scrambled.
“Hey!” you suddenly turned around at the sound of Yoongi’s voice and saw him stalking over to you. There was an murderous expression on his face and before you knew it, he was yelling at Mike.
“You idiot! What are you trying to do, murder your teammate?!”
“N-no of course not,” Mike stammered.
“Yoongi, get off him. He said he’s sorry,” you scowled pushing Yoongi away.
“You clearly saw that she had just blocked one Bludger and yet you batted another one at her!” Yoongi continued.
“It’s p-part of practice,” Mike defended himself. “That’s how we always practice for a game.”
“You could have hurt m girlfriend!” Yoongi yelled, eyes widening once he realized what he just said. You felt your mouth hang open slightly. Yoongi turned to you, blinking in surprise at himself. “I… I meant…”
“Your ex-girlfriend?” you said coldly. You never heard your own voice sound like that. But all the sadness you had built up from before was replaced with rage. “That’s what you meant, right?”
“Y/n… I… I didn’t mean—”
“You didn’t mean to what?!” you snapped. Yoongi looked down, at least he had the decency to look sorry. By now, everyone in your team was approaching you and Yoongi, no doubt to watch the spectacle. You knew Hoseok and Jimin would be the ones to reach you first before everything blew up. But right now, you could care less.
“You know why Mike didn’t do anything wrong?” you hissed. “It’s because he trusts me. He trusts that I can dodge or bat a Bludger and that I won’t fall. Something you seem to have trouble doing.”
“Yoongi,” Hoseok said, appearing beside you. You couldn’t read the expression on his face or what he was thinking. But taking a wild guess, you figured Hoseok was hurt having to talk to his best friend like this. “I think it’s best if you go.”
“Hoseok…” Yoongi bit his lip.
“Why can’t you just trust me?!” you yelled at him. “Why can’t you just trust us? Tell us what’s wrong.”
Yoongi opened his mouth, paused, before closing it again. His fingers fidgeted, his nervous habit, but he didn’t say anything. Appalled, you shook your head and stepped back.
“Unless you really don’t love me…” you said softly.
“Hyung…” you heard Jimin speak up beside you. You looked up and saw tears forming in his eyes. This must be hurting him as much as it hurt you. Beside you, Hoseok stood stiffly. It was so strange that your best friend, who always found something to say, was at a loss for words. You could barely handle the feeling of Yoongi breaking up with you, but it was so hard to watch your friendships falling apart too.
“Fine… don’t talk,” you shook your head, turned around, and walked away.
…
“Hey Y/n, watch yourself,” Hoseok reminded you. Your last Quidditch practice before your match with Slytherin tomorrow had ended hours ago but you, Hoseok, and Jimin were still in the field. You were the one who elected to stay for a while and practice your swing, even though you didn’t exactly need it. Hoseok and Jimin decided to practice by throwing the Quaffle around but part of you knew that they were just around to make sure you didn’t overexert yourself. Right now, you were quite near your breaking point.
“Yeah…” you panted, dropping your bat on the ground and stretching your tired muscles. “Let’s head back already.”
“Good call,” Jimin grinned. The corner of your lip tugged up in a small smile as you picked up your bat and followed your friends out of the field.
“Hey, when we win tomorrow, you should treat all of us to barbecue for dinner,” Jimin suggested, elbowing Hoseok.
“Why am I the one treating?” Hoseok frowned.
“You’re the team captain, of course you’re treating,” you stated.
“Exactly,” Jimin winked at you.
“Treating all of you would finish of three months of my allowance,” Hoseok protested.
“Ooh I have an idea! Why don’t you dance for the owner of the barbecue restaurant. I’m sure the manager has a soft spot for you,” Jimin suggested.
“But by then I bet I’ll be so tired so all I’ll do is this,” Hoseok stopped walking and waved his arms sideways like an octopus.
“Isn’t that just an imitation of Seokjin-hyung?” you snorted and the three of you laughed. Ever since the incident at the Quidditch field, the three of you found yourselves simultaneously ignoring the elephant in the room. Even though you were laughing, it was undeniable that there was still this empty feeling inside.
“I’ll go ahead to dinner,” Hoseok spoke up, rubbing the back of his neck. “Just need to get some notes from Namjoon and all.”
“Right,” you nodded, knowing full well that Yoongi may or may not be with Namjoon at this time.
“See you later,” Jimin waved as Hoseok left the two of you alone.
“So, the match really is tomorrow, huh?” you said, trying hard not to let the silence fall between you two.
“We deserve a break,” Jimin sighed.
“Yeah, I feel like my arms are going to fall off,” you groaned, rubbing the muscles on your shoulder.
“Not just that kind of break,” Jimin looked up at you. “A break from all this… emotional stuff too.”
He meant Yoongi. But right now, it seemed as if just mentioning his name was taboo. And now that Jimin mentioned it, you realized that maybe you do need this emotional break.
“What do you suggest we do?” you asked. Jimin gave you one of his smiles that bordered on shy and sly.
“Want to get wasted?”
…
“Hey, eat something,” Jungkook said, tossing a wrapped sandwich at Yoongi who was lying down on his bed.
“Not hungry,” Yoongi mumbled, brushing the sandwich off his chest to lie down on his side. He felt one side of the mattress give way as Jungkook sat down.
“Jimin told me what happened.”
“Everyone knows what happened.” The entire Hufflepuff team was there after all.
“It’s still not too late to fix tings,” Jungkook spoke up. Yoongi turned to him.
“How is it not ‘too late?’” Yoongi snapped. “I broke up with Y/n. I hurt her because she thinks I don’t trust her and that I don’t love her either. And now, even Hoseok and Jimin are pulled into this mess!” Jungkook blinked at him in response and looked down.
“Sorry…” Yoongi reached out to touch his shoulder. “You don’t deserve to be yelled at.”
“I understand, hyung,” Jungkook smiled slightly. “What is the truth behind all of this? I know Seokjin-hyung and Namjoon-hyung know but, you never told me.”
Yoongi sucked in a breath. ‘I guess it is okay to tell Jungkook,’ he thought.
“My father found out about our relationship,” he sighed. “And he threatened to harm her and her family once he finds out who she is and with all the power that he is, it’s all going to be too easy for him. I need to protect Y/n and this is the only way I know how.”
“Can’t you run away?” Jungkook asked. “I know you never cared about him.”
“I did think about casting that Obliviate charm but, where would I go?” Yoongi shrugged. “I still don’t quite know what to do with my life.”
“Well, erasing your father’s memory seems like a good place to start,” Jungkook pointed out.
“Yeah,” Yoongi laughed bitterly.
“I still mean it though,” Jungkook said softly. “I don’t think it’s too late for you two. Far from it actually.”
“How so?” Yoongi asked, sitting up on the bed. Jungkook sat down next to him and curled up his knees.
“You fell for her years ago, didn’t you?” Jungkook smirked at him. “Even I could tell and I was eleven years old at that time. And you waited for how long to tell her?”
“About five years,” Yoongi found himself smiling wistfully.
“Five years!” Jungkook exclaimed. “And Y/n knows that. That’s not something you forget easily. If you told her about everything, the issue with your father and everything, I’m sure she’ll understand. Maybe she’ll punch you for not telling you sooner, but she’ll understand.”
“But if she stays close to me, my father will find a way to hurt her,” Yoongi bit his lip.
“Y/n’s strong,” Jungkook insisted. “Even more so when she knows she has you watching her back. And if you think you friends are going to leave you guys to fend for yourself I’ll be really disappointed in you, hyung.” Yoongi chuckled.
“You know, you really are smart,” he said, ruffling Jungkook’s hair.
“Always have, always will be,” Jungkook smirked.
…
“Whoa, how did you get that in?” Your mouth hung open in surprise when you saw Jimin pull out a half-empty bottle of Firewhiskey from his backpack.
“I caught our previous Hufflepuff prefect with it,” he grinned. “He’s not an alcoholic but he does like having a drink or two sometimes to de-stress. I didn’t tell on him so he left this with me once he graduated.”
“Damn Jimin,” you shook your head at him in awe.
“I guess we kind of need this now,” Jimin sighed, leaning back. The two of you had climbed your way to the roof from the observatory room, far from everyone else. You hugged your knees and watched as Jimin uncorked the bottle and passed it to you.
“To an non-stressful night,” he said.
“To a non-stressful night,” you repeated, taking a drink. They didn’t call the drink Firewhiskey for no reason. The liquor burned through your mouth and down your throat. It tasted bitter at first, but with a semi-sweet aftertaste, like burnt honey. It made you feel warmer on the inside despite the cool, wind on the rooftop.
“That hits the spot,” you sighed and passed the bottle to Jimin.
“You said it,” he grinned and drank as well. “We shouldn’t drink too much though, there’s still the game tomorrow.”
“Yeah,” you nodded. “You really think Hoseok will treat us to barbecue?”
“Not if he knows we’re drinking,” Jimin giggled. You laughed and took the bottle from him to take another drink.
“Remember when everyone else surprised us with a party?”
“You mean Taehyung’s so-called Post-Quidditch ‘Yacht Party’ but the ‘yacht’ was actually a giant red crocs shoe floating on the lake?” Jimin laughed.
“That one!” you grinned. “Geez, it’s hard to believe that was a year ago.”
“We threw Seokjin-hyung in the lake then.”
“And got into detention.”
“But busted out anyway,” Jimin completed. He sighed and drank some more Firewhiskey. “Those were good times.”
“Yoongi confessed to me that night,” you said quietly. “Right here on the rooftop.”
“You’re really going to talk about your ex here?” Jimin raised an eyebrow. “Aren’t we supposed to de-stress?”
“He still doesn’t feel like my ex,” you said, hugging your knees close to your chest. You closed your eyes for just a second, but in that second, you felt yourself being transported back to that night. It was as cold as it was now on the rooftop and the warmth you felt then wasn’t from alcohol but from having Yoongi sitting close next to you, shoulders pressed against shoulders. It didn’t take much for you to remember the first feeling of his lips on yours, or the slight crack in his voice when he said ‘I love you.’
Before you knew it, tears started falling from your eyes.
“Let it all out, Y/n,” Jimin sighed, wrapping an arm around your shoulder while you buried your face in the long sleeves of your sweater. “We still have some time in our schedule tonight for some crying.”
“Pass me the Firewhiskey again?” you sniffed and reached your hand out. Jimin nodded and passed you to the bottle after taking a drink himself. The burn in your mouth and throat didn’t hurt so much and the Firewhiskey tasted a bit sweeter this time. But not even that was going to make you forget about Min Yoongi.
…
Yoongi didn’t quite plan for him to end up on the rooftop on a Thursday night, but here he was. Or, almost, that is.
After talking to Jungkook, and being force-fed a sandwich, Yoongi found himself wandering through the Hogwarts hallways, not quite planning where he was headed. And before he knew it, he was walking up the stairs leading to the Astronomy tower and the rooftop that held so many memories. ‘The universe really loves torturing me, doesn’t it?’ he thought leaning against the window frame when he heard two all-too familiar voices on the rooftop below.
“Noona! That’s enough! You’ve had way too much to drink.”
“Come oooon Jimiin. I only drank a bit.”
“Clearly that’s way too much. Geez, who knew you were such a lightweight?”
“You’re a lightweight!”
‘Jimin and Y/n?’ Yoongi frowned. He leaned down farther over the balcony where he was at and spotted Y/n and Jimin sitting on the rooftop just below. Jimin appeared to be holding a bottle up in the air while you were swatting at the air to reach it. Judging by the slight slur of your voice and your shaky balance, you were drunk.
‘What’s Jimin doing getting her drunk?’ Yoongi frowned. Of course, he knew Jimin would never make a move on Y/n. But proposing a drinking night was just plain stupid.
“You were just drinking and crying about Yoongi-hyung a minute ago,” Jimin groaned, holding you away at arm’s length once you tried to make a grab again for the bottle. “What the hell happened?”
‘She was crying about me?’ Yoongi blinked in surprise.
“Min Yoongi!” you practically screeched. “I hate you Min Yoongi!” Yoongi practically felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up at how hostile you sounded.
“I know I know I know!!” Jimin hurriedly covered your mouth. “Now shut up or someone’s going to hear us.” You pulled away from Jimin and sat down again.
“I didn’t mean that.” Yoongi could practically hear your voice shaking as you spoke. “I still love him.”
He felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach as soon as he heard those words. Even after all of the hurt he caused you, you still loved him. ‘Could I still make things right?’ Yoongi thought, feeling his hands grip the railing of the balcony tightly.
“Come on Y/n. Let’s get back to the room,” Jimin sighed, tucking away the bottle he was holding earlier and holding out a hand to help you stand up. “It’s late so there shouldn’t be that many people around.”
“Fiiine,” you stood up shakily before completely passing out.
“Aish, you’re so much trouble,” Jimin groaned, lifting you up in his arms. Yoongi leaned down farther over the railing of the balcony until he was right on top of you two.
“Need some help?”
Jimin almost dropped you in surprise at the sound of Yoongi’s voice. “H-hyung?” he squeaked.
”Up here,” Yoongi said. Jimin looked up and Yoongi waved in greeting before jumping over the railing and landing right next to the two of them. It took about five years for him to fully master that.
“How long were you there?” Jimin gazed at him in surprise.
“Long enough,” Yoongi shrugged. He held out his hands, gesturing to take Y/n from him. Jimin hesitated for a bit before handing her over. Y/n was completely passed out with her mouth partially hanging open. She was warm too and Yoongi felt himself smiling slightly at the feeling of his arms around you again.
“Let’s head back to the Common Room,” Jimin said simply, walking ahead to pass through a nearby window. Thankfully, there were less students roaming around the castle at this time. And those who passed by didn’t seem to notice anything suspicious. After a few minutes, Yoongi and Jimin were standing in front of the Hufflepuff Common Room.
“I didn’t mean to get her drunk, by the way,” Jimin finally spoke up, rubbing the back of his neck. “She got drunk after a few sips. Sorry about that, I should have watched over her more carefully.”
“I know,” Yoongi nodded. “You’ve been there for her more than I have these past few weeks, so it’s alright.”
“You know, she’s really hurting over you,” Jimin said, raising his voice this time. He never did this, unless he was really upset. ‘He must be bothered by this too,’ Yoongi thought.
“I know that too,” Yoongi said, looking down at your sleeping peaceful face. “But I know I have to explain things to her, and I will. I’m sure that that’s what I have to do now.”
“You better explain things to me too, and Hoseok,” Jimin added. “We’re all worried about you two.”
“I’m sorry about all of this,” Yoongi bit his lip. Suddenly, he felt you stir as you yawned and woke up.
“Shit…” Jimin cursed under his breath as you craned your neck to look up at the person carrying you. Yoongi felt himself tense slightly, remembering how hostile you sounded when you yelled ‘I hate you Min Yoongi!’ earlier.
“H-hi..?” he stammered.
“Jimin… what happened to your muscles?” you frowned, poking at Yoongi’s arm. Jimin and Yoongi exchanged glances and the younger Hufflepuff burst out laughing.
“I think that’s the universe’s way of saying you should work out, hyung,” Jimin teased.
“Shut up,” Yoongi flushed.
“Wait a second… this is Taehyung!” you gasped in surprise. Judging by your half-lidded eyes and very flushed cheeks, you were still very much drunk. Suddenly, the look of surprise on your face was replaced with rage. You clenched your fist and punched Yoongi right on the shoulder.
“Ow… Fuck!” Yoongi cursed. You pushed yourself away from him and dropped down on the floor in a clumsy fighter’s stance.
“You still owe me twenty Galleons!” you yelled. Then, your eyes closed as you passed out again. Yoongi used his uninjured arm to catch you before you fell.
“Geez, why does it hurt so fucking much?” he hissed as he rubbed his injured shoulder.
“She’s our best Beater, what did you expect?” Jimin said as he picked up Y/n again.
“Make sure she doesn’t punch anyone else, okay?”
“Make sure you explain yourself to her too,” Jimin added. “See you tomorrow, hyung.”
“See you,” Yoongi nodded. He might have just been hearing things or something, but you mumbled something along the lines of ‘See you, Yoongi’ before Jimin entered the Hufflepuff Common Room.
…
“God, I’m never going to drink Firewhiskey again,” you groaned, rubbing a hand across your forehead in an attempt massage the headache away.
“Shut up, Hoseok-hyung’s going to hear you,” Jimin nudged you. The Hufflepuff team was assembled at the bottom of the Quidditch field, ready to take off as soon as the game started. “Here,” Jimin passed you an aspirin. You took it gratefully, popping it into your mouth, and breathed out a sigh of relief as your headache slowly cleared away. You couldn’t afford to be distracted by anything else now a few minutes before the game started.
“Hey, what do you remember from last night?” Jimin asked. You frowned.
“I remember saying a bunch of stuff while I was drunk on the rooftop and then passing out,” you explained. The rest of the night was all fuzzy.
“Anything else you remember?” Jimin raised an eyebrow.
“Why? Don’t tell me I did something crazy,” you said worriedly.
“No, not really,” Jimin shook his head. “But man, you really are a lightweight.”
“Shut up, Park Jimin.”
“Alright, time for the first Quidditch match of the year,” the sound of the Quidditch announcer, Kim Taehyung’s voice boomed through the stadium. “Hufflepuff against Slytherin!” The crowd cheered. You, the rest of your team, and Slytherin mounted your brooms and kicked off in the air. The Hufflepuff team flew by where the rest of your housemates were seated, causing more cheers from the Hufflepuffs, before finally stopping at your end of the court.
“Both teams seem to be in great condition,” Taehyung continued commentating. “Will Slytherin win the game early with our Golden Seeker Jeon Jungkook catching the Snitch? Or will Captain Hoseok’s leadership and strategy win enough points for Hufflepuff? Since Jungkook wouldn’t share his chocolate milk with me this morning, I’ll be rooting for Hufflepuff.”
“Kim Taehyung!” Headmistress McGonagall’s scolded him. You sighed and shook your head at the younger boy’s antics.
“Sorry Headmistress,” Taehyung apologized. “I mean both teams are evenly matched, may the best team win. I still hate you Jungkook.”
“Kim Taehyung!”
“Sorry Headmistress.”
The game begins when Madame Hooch tosses the Quaffle in the air and blows on her whistle. You immediately dart off, chasing after a Bludger to your left. You don’t even have to turn around to know that Jimin has caught the Quaffle first.
“Aaaaand we’re off!” Taehyung cheers. “Hufflepuff Chaser Park Jimin is immediately in hold of the Quaffle and headed straight for the goalposts. He may be single ladies but I bet my entire collection of feathers that he only has eyes for Jungkook.”
“Kim Taehyung!” This time, it’s Seokjin-hyung yelling at him. You chuckle as you grip your bat, flying closer and closer to a Bludger. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot one of the Slytherin Chasers flying after Jimin. You speed your broom up to outpace the Bludger before swinging your bat and hitting the Bludger directly at the Chaser. The sound is glorious, and you feel a rush of adrenaline once the Bludger connects with its target.
Then, out of the corner of your eye, you spot Min Yoongi sitting in the stands. It feels as if time slows down and you can feel his eyes on you and you only. You expect to feel a stab of hatred while looking at him but you don’t. He smiles and waves a little before Taehyung’s voice catapults you back into the game.
“Whoa! Tell me you guys saw that! Tell me you saw that awesome hit from our Hufflepuff Beater, Y/n L/n!” The crowd cheers and you feel yourself smile a bit before chasing after another Bludger. “Man, her biceps sure look scary,” Taehyung adds.
Jimin and your other Chasers managed to get more shots in while you and Mike do as much as you can to throw off the Slytherin Chasers, and prevent Jungkook from catching the Snitch too early in the game. Of course, Jungkook’s dodging skills are as formidable as ever.
“And another awesome bat by Y/n!” Taehyung cheers once you hit a Bludger at one of the Slytherin Chasers who was headed right for your goalposts with the Quaffle. They drop the ball only to be caught right after by Jimin again.
“Good work!” Hoseok yells at you. You grin and flash a thumbs-up before eyeing another Bludger. You chase it down on your broom when you notice something strange in its movements. Usually, Bludgers moved erratically in the air, darting to the sides as well as forwards and backwards. This one, however, seemed to have a fairly straight pattern. And… a target.
‘It’s enchanted!’ you thought frantically, tucking your Beater bat under arm and gripping tightly on the broom handle with two hands as you sped up. The Bludger dipped down, heading straight at the crowd of people sitting on the bleachers. Combined with the force of gravity, it was gaining speed even faster.
“Look out!” you screamed at the crowd below you. Your bat fell off to the side as you continued your high-speed chase. As you closed in on the Bludger even further, you finally managed to pinpoint its target.
That damn Min Yoongi.
“NO!” you yelled. Hearing the noise, Min Yoongi looked up just in time to see the Bludger heading straight for him. You urged your broom even closer before jumping off it, wrapping your arms around the Bludger and trying to change its pathway at least a foot to the side before plummeting down onto one of the seats.
Your vision went dark, but in the distance, you could hear Yoongi yelling your name.
…
“She’s going to be fine,” Madame Pomfrey reassured Yoongi, Hoseok and Jimin, for what seemed like the umpteenth time. “No broken bones or anything, thank God. The blow on her head was pretty serious but nothing I couldn’t handle.”
“Will she wake up soon?” Yoongi asked.
“She should,” Madame Pomfrey nodded. “Or she may remain unconscious until tomorrow.”
“Can we see her?” Hoseok asked. Jimin and Yoongi nodded in unison. Madame Pomfrey looked over all of them before sighing and giving in.
“Alright, but only you three.”
“We’ll be quiet,” Jimin reassured her. Yoongi practically ran to the hospital bed where he saw you lying down. There were a few bruises on the sides of your arms from where you hit the bench while clutching the Bludger and there was a bandage wrapped around your head as well. But other than that, you still looked okay. That didn’t stop Yoongi from gripping the bedside railings tightly with rage when he thought about the person who must have enchanted the Bludger.
“Does anyone know who he is?” he asked out loud. “The one who controlled that Bludger?”
“Taehyung and Jungkook are still looking into it,” Hoseok answered, gripping his shoulder.
“It must have been on the Slytherin team,” Yoongi gritted his teeth. “I’ll hex all of them myself if I have to.”
“It’s better if you’re here for Y/n,” Jimin spoke up. “Madame Pomfrey said she could be waking up soon.”
“You’re right,” Yoongi nodded, sucking in a breath to calm himself down a bit. Suddenly, he saw you stir in your sleep before blinking your eyes open.
“Y/n!” Jimin exclaimed, rushing over to your side. You groaned and reached for the bandage on your head.
“What happened? Did we win?” you asked, blinking at the three of them.
“Geez, worry about yourself for once,” Hoseok chuckled. “But the match was canceled. Someone tampered with the Bludger and they’re still finding out who did it.”
“They were targeting Yoongi and—” you paused once your eyes landed on him. Yoongi felt himself swallow as he took a step closer to you.
“Y/n, I—”
“Are you hurt?” you asked, cutting him off completely. Yoongi felt tears well up behind his eyes at hearing your concern for him.
“Like Hoseok said, worry about yourself for once,” he choked out.
“We’ll leave you two alone,” Hoseok said. Jimin nodded and the two of them left the clinic. Yoongi grabbed a nearby stool and dragged it to close to you before sitting down.
“M-madame Pomfrey said your head was injured the most when you fell,” he stammered, still unsure of what to actually say to you. “But she fixed it up quickly. No broken bones or anything.” You studied him for a good while before leaning your head back against the pillow.
“I guess I still care about you more than I should…” you said softly.
“And I should have trusted you more than I did,” Yoongi added, glancing up at you. “I know it isn’t my place to ask, after everything I’ve done to you, but will you give me another chance?”
You bit your lip, contemplating what Yoongi just said. And right when he thought you were going to say no, you gave a simple nod of your head. He breathed out a sigh of relief and continued.
“My father found out about us,” Yoongi finally said. “Of course, he was furious, because of your House and bloodline, and he threatened to hurt you and your family if I didn’t stop seeing you. And with all the power and influence he has, I don’t doubt doing that was going to be difficult for him. He’s even fucking friends with the parents of other Slytherins. So, I had to protect you.”
“By breaking up with me…” you finished.
“It was hard,” Yoongi confessed. “I lost sleep over it. But seeing you hurt because of all this, that was the hardest thing I’ve had to face. I thought that concealing this from you would keep you safe but it ended up hurting you instead. And you’re right, it was wrong for me not to trust you.”
“How did your father find out about us?” you asked.
“That was mostly my fault,” Yoongi said somewhat sheepishly. “But he found this.” He pulled out a mixtape and handed it over to you.
“’One Year,’” you read the title out loud.
“It was supposed to be for our anniversary,” Yoongi swallowed. “The first track was this recorded message for you and my father must have found a way to play it while it was still in the tape recorder and—” Suddenly, you sat up and wrapped your arms around him.
“God, you are such a sap,” you chuckled.
“Y-you’re not mad?” Yoongi stammered, finding that he didn’t quite know what to do with his hands before finally wrapping them around your waist. ‘Yeah, this feels right,’ he thought, pulling you even closer to him.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m still really mad at you,” you shook your head but clutched him even tighter. “I can’t believe it took you this long to say it.”
“I know, I’m sorry,” Yoongi mumbled. “I’m sorry it all had to come down to this.”
“Young man you have a lot to make up for,” you pulled away from him and grinned cheekily. For the first time in weeks, Yoongi felt butterflies in stomach rather than bowling balls. “You can start with wearing Taehyung’s bling-bling crocs.”
“God, not the bling-bling crocs,” Yoongi groaned as he imagined the red crocs and chains monstrosity that Taehyung created last year. Still, he couldn’t stop himself from smiling at you.
“You’ll have to wear it for a month,” you added. “No exceptions.”
“Fine,” Yoongi sighed. You grinned again before frowning slightly in worry.
“What about your father?” you asked.
“We’ll figure something out,” Yoongi took your hand in his. “I know we will.”
Suddenly, the two of you were interrupted when Jungkook and Taehyung, came running into the clinic.
“Yoongi-hyung!” Jungkook yelled, slowing down to a stop right in front of Y/n’s bed. “You can stay in my house during Christmas break!”
“Um…” you gazed at the two of them. “Is there something I should know about?”
“If you don’t have a place to go to,” Taehyung added. “You can stay in my house too during the summer. Grandma welcomes pretty much anyone to stay.”
“You’re… volunteering your houses for me to stay in?” Yoongi said slowly. Taehyung and Jungkook nodded.
“Aw, he’s going to cry now,” you smiled and patted Yoongi on the back.
“Sh-shut up,” Yoongi stammered, trying very hard not to cry at his maknae’s gestures. “But thank you guys, really.”
“Don’t forget the rest of your friends too,” Taehyung added. “I think Namjoon volunteered to share his closet with you. So did Jimin, mostly because you’re the same size.”
“We’ve all got your back, Min Yoongi,” you held his hand and grinned up at him.
“I know you do,” Yoongi nodded, squeezing your hand.
“Also, if you break up with me again, you’re dead you damn Min Yoongi.” Yoongi laughed and kissed you on the forehead. He didn’t care if Taehyung and Jungkook were watching. They could video the thing for all he cared.
a cute fluff, bunny boy jungkook wanting your love and attention
“Y/n~”
The familiar whine addressed to you made the rest of the boys in the room roll their eyes. Of course, their maknae would be calling for you again. They had nothing against you, they actually all loved you dearly, but whenever you came over Jungook would always be prying your attention away to himself, and of course, you would pay attention to him.
“Hold on Kookie, I’m doing some work.” You called back and all the boys in the room whipped their heads to your room. You never denied Jungkook’s call to you, never. It was almost your un-official job to baby the maknae. They looked over to the youngest and saw him pouting.
“Maybe she finally got tired of your baby antics,” Yoongi commented before starting to scroll through his phone. Jungkook glared at his hyung, but didn’t say anything. Maybe you had, he thought.
Namjoon noticed Jungkook’s now changed demeanor and went to rub his shoulder comfortingly. “She’s just busy Jungkook if you want Jin can fill her spot,” Namjoon said jokingly, making the said older hyung turn to look at him in disbelief.
“No, it’s fine,” Jungkook said before Jin could retort. Jungkook shuffled in his spot on your couch, facing the TV screen with a slight pout. “We can just start the movie without her, she said she was busy anyway.”
This time all the boys in the room looke9d at Jungkook incredulously.
“Are you sure? No one is gonna cuddle you Jungkookie~.” Taehyung said teasingly, but he was also worried about the youngest feelings. They all knew how much Jungkook adored you, in more than a friendly way, and the way he got your attention was usually being babied by you. His feelings towards you were strong, but he kept them well hidden from you with his whining.
“I’m sure she won’t mind,” was all Jungkook said and Jin pressed the play button on the remote.
Meanwhile, in your room, you were typing up the final touches on your essay, which was due tomorrow. You wanted so badly to just ignore the assigned work you had to do and cuddle up with Jungkook, but deadlines and a very strict teacher stopped you from doing so. And besides, Jungkook wouldn’t mind if you didn’t join him just this once, right?
Unknownst to you, the boys started the movie already and they were a good hour in. I guess time flies when you’re focused. You didn’t bother looking at the time thinking if you looked at it, you would be stressed out of your mind to finish writing this piece, and when you're stressed you don’t write as well.
It wasn’t until a knock on the door snapped you out of your working trance. Confused you opened the door to see Namjoon mid-yawn, “Joon?”
“Hey, Y/n,” he greeted smiling, “did you know you missed the whole movie?”
Your jaw dropped and you rushed to your laptop sitting on top of your work desk, “Holy shit!” Namjoon laughed at your reaction before continuing on.
“The guys are all tired so we’re gonna head on out, Jungkook said he would be sleeping over, he also said you would be fine with it.” You nodded your head still processing the fact you missed the whole movie just writing.
“I’m so sorry, honestly. I got lost in work, that’s all. Damn.” You sighed, running a hand through your hair and followed after Namjoon to leave your room. You said bye to all of the boys and apologized profusely which they just chuckled and said it was fine.
“Y/n make sure to give Jungkook good cuddles tonight, he was a bit grumpy today,” Jimin whispered, making your eyes bulge. He just chuckled though and left your apartment without any other words of anknowledgement.
You turned around and looked at Jungkook, who was on the brink of falling asleep.
“Jungkookie?” You called quietly but didn’t get any response. “Let’s get you to bed then, bunny boy.”
You tried your best to carry him to your room as delicately as possible, not wanting to stir him anymore considering how tired he looked. You softly placed him in your bed, and as you were about to get back to your workspace, he grabbed onto your hand, slowly opening his eyes.
“Stay...here.” He paused in between his sentence and you cooed at his tired and knocked out face, he was absolutely adorable!
“I will, Jungkookie, I promise, but I gotta finish this writing piece. I will only take a few minutes,” you pushed back his bangs to place a soft kiss on his forehead and he scrunched his nose up.
“Hmm,” was his response and you sat down at your desk. The problem with that was you weren’t able to write anything. Curse you and your procrastination. You glanced at the heap in your bed, sighing feeling the fatigue wash over you. You wished you could just join Jungkook in your bed and say a big ‘fuck you’ to your professor, which you did, half of it at least.
You climbed into bed with Jungkook, automatically wrapping your arm over his torso as your leg placed itself over his own. Your actions made his body turn and this time he encased you in a tight hug.
“Noona, why didn’t you join us? You just ignored me.” Jungkook said quietly, barely above a whisper.
“I’m sorry Kookie, I really am. The paper was due tomorrow, or today really, ad I needed to be done. I didn’t notice the time until Joonie knocked on my door.” You explained and you saw him furrow his brows in displeasure.
“So work is more important than me to you,” you stared up at him, but his eyes were kept closed. What was making him so emotional today? Well, Jimin did say he was feeling grumpy today so maybe that was why.
“Ah, just cuddle me, Y/n” Jungkook said, and this time he tightened his grip around your waist, placing his chin right above your hair and you smiled softly at the situation. It felt like you two were cuddling together more than friends, and you relished in that feeling.
Of course, you would fall in love with your best friend, it was bound to happen with how close you two were.
That morning when you woke up, Junkook’s arms were still fastened around your waist. You tried wiggling out of his grasp, but he pulled you closer anyway, nuzzling his head into your stomach. You sighed knowing escaping was practically impossible at this point so you went to shake his shoulders.
You held back the urge to place a kiss onto his lips right then and there because god dammit the boy was absolutely adorable with bed head!!
“Kookie,” you started, patting down his hair, “I gotta get up.”
He leaned into your touch, but kept his eyes tightly shut, “Five more minutes.”
‘Of course! Anything for my favorite boy in the world, make it five hours!!’ was what you would’ve said, but instead, you muttered out, “Jungkookie, the paper is due today and I still need to put the finishing touches on it.”
“Screw that stupid paper,” was all he said, and you never knew such words could sound so cute, it was honestly amazing at what Jungkook could do to you.
“I’ll give you the best cuddles if you just let me sit up.” Jungkook now peeked his eye open before releasing you from his tight grasp.
“You better give me the best fucking cuddles after that goddamn paper is finished, Y/n.” You held back a chuckle, he was even formal when he just wakes up.
You wordlessly got out of the bed, immediately going to the bathroom to freshen up. When you got back Jungkook was still asleep, comfortable in your cushiony bed which was filled with a mixture of yours and his own scents and he was in heaven because of that.
‘I can quickly whip up some food for the two of us,’ you thought and you brought your laptop to the kitchen with you. ‘Working and cooking, perfect combo.’
You decided pancakes were a could morning started s you made enough for the two of you and when you were done, you grinned proudly at the work in front of you. The smell of the pancakes filled your tiny apartment making you even more desperate to dig into the food.
Now it was time to wake up the big baby lying in your bed.
Kneeling to the side of the bed he was laying on, you shook his shoulders calling his name softly.
“Kookie, hun, let’s eat. I made pancakes,” you said and this time he looked at you with open eyes. He slowly sat up and looked at your, rubbing his tired face. You held out your hand which he took in his and led him to the kitchen, him shuffling behind you.
You sat across from each other and you watched amused as he was half-awake, half-asleep. This led to him spilling more than enough syrup onto his pancakes. His nose scrunched up cutely at the sugary sweet taste, sipping the water next to his plate.
“Oh, kookie, you got something,” was all you said before leaning forward to wipe the stray syrup that was splattered on the side of his face. You wet the napkin in your hand before going to the other side of the table to wipe his face.
He looked at you as you softly wiped his face clean, he was still dazed. You saw him open his mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
“Hmm?’ You hummed, leaning closer to see if he was simply whispering something under his breath.
Instead, he grabbed your cheek and made you look at him in the eyes. His eyes began to close as he leaned forward, pushing his plush lips onto your own. At first, you were un-responsive, not being able to process what was happening. But then you snapped out of your trance, bringing your hands to the sides of his face, pulling him closer to you.
He smiled softly at the motion of it all and slowly pulled away from you, who was also smiling a blush coating your cheeks.
“I like you Y/n, a lot.” He said breathlessly, confessing his feelings towards you making you chuckle. His confession sounded like one of a 12-year-old, but his confession still warmed your heart.
“Yeah, I like you too Jungkook.” You paused looking as if you wanted to say something, but something was stopping you.
He grabbed your cheek to look at him before he leaned in once more. When your lips were barely centimeters away, there was a ringing going through your apartment. The doorbell to your apartment was rung.
“Uh! Coming!” You called, breaking contact with the now pouty male in front of you.
When you opened the door, Hoseok was there looking at you sheepishly.
“Sorry, did I wake up.” He said taking notice of your PJ’s.
“Uhm, no. It’s fine! What brings you here Hobi?” You asked, kindly opening your door for him.
“I forgot my phone here last night and I was going to come back, but I figured you were asleep by the time I realized and yeah,” you chuckled at his slight rambling before letting him enter your humble abode.
“Oh hey, Jungkookie!” Hoseok called, seeing the male sitting in your kitchen. Jungkook’s back was turned, possibly hiding his blush from his older brother, so he waved at Hobi who just chuckled. “You still grumpy from yesterday, Jungkookie?”
This made Jungkook whip his head around and softly glare at the sunshine who was now laughing. Hoseok quickly found his phone and stashed it in his pocket. “Y’know our Jungkookie was all grumpy last night because you ignored him.’
You looked at Jungkook who was hiding his face in his palms and you laughed quietly.
“Well, I can definitely use that information to my advantage, thank you Hobi.” You said as he made his way towards the door.
“No problem Y/n, see you two later.” He said before leaving your apartment, you locking the door behind him.
“Soooo, Jungkook, care to explain yourself?” You said, already ready to tease him.
“Oh shut up,” he said, turning his back to you once again, “I was just sad you didn’t join us last night for movie night.”
You rose your eyebrow, running a hand through his hair. “Really? Because it sounds like you were sad that I was ignoring you, from what Hobi said earlier. Could it be you wanted my attention and love?’
He sighed and turned to you, “I always want your attention and love, Y/n.”
This time you were genuinely shocked, “Why do you think I always pull you away from my hyungs whenever I want? Why do you think I get whiny when you aren’t paying attention to me?”
His words softened your heart and now you cupped his cheeks.
“You don’t have to worry about that anymore, Junkookie. Because you can bet on your speakers that I am going to give you all the attention and love this world can offer.”
He didn’t mind the proposition, but he looked at you with a small cute bunny smile. “I accept, but on one condition.”
“Yes my good sir,” you replied and he chuckled at your cuteness.
“Give me a kiss.”
And the rest of the morning you said a big ‘fuck you’ to your papers and cuddled with the man of your dreams, comfortably fooling around with each other and being happy in one another’s presence.
