Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 2 cups granulated sugar. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1 tsp salt. 1 cup buttermilk. 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 2 large eggs. 2 tsp vanilla extract. 1 cup boiling water. 1 cup chopped pecans. 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut. 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 1 cup evaporated milk. 1 cup light brown sugar. 3 large egg yolks. 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a bundt cake pan. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. Be careful; it will be thin at this stage. Fold in the chopped pecans and shredded coconut. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt cake pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. While the cake is baking, prepare the German chocolate frosting. In a saucepan, combine butter, evaporated milk, brown sugar, and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens about 10-12 minutes. Remove the frosting from heat and stir in vanilla extract, pecans, and shredded coconut. Once the cake is done baking, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once the cake is completely cool, pour the prepared German chocolate frosting over the top, allowing it to drizzle down the sides. Slice, serve, and enjoy your delicious German Chocolate Bundt Cake!
