I have a lot of feelings about how often Caleb uses polymorph and how often he stays in his polymorphed form for longer than he really needs to and how much he leans into the low intelligence/animal instincts of the creatures he turns into and how clear it is that he finds that state to be a relief from his usual mind. I think he said something along those lines one of the first times he used polymorph and it’s been so clear ever since. Caleb uses polymorph to escape from his own brain and that hits so hard.

I’m just saying, Veth saying “I think we thrive off unfinished business” at the end of an episode where they, almost exactly 80 episodes after Molly’s death, finally start stumbling upon a past he never got to learn about, answers he never wanted but would have found if he’d stuck around??? The same episode where they managed to finally tie up an old wound from a campaign years gone, returning a previous PC’s mother to her, which we only see in brief, bittersweet hints??????? Like okay!!!! Sure!!!!! Fine!!!!! Spontaneous D&D roleplay once again has better cohesive theming than half the scripted crap I’ve ever seen!!!! And it’s all used to cause pain!!!!!!!!!!!
