Trauma: When I was in 1-2 grade they use to have kids in every class labeled the "problem kids". AKA kids who had temperament issues from time to time but were actually so sweet. Well every now and then one of these kids would have a full on meltdown-kicking, screaming, thrashing. And instead of trying to help or calm the kid down, they would gather a group of teachers and make a cage out of heavy gym mats. They would drag the kid into the cage, close the cage, and stand against the mats so the kid couldn't escape and was trapping in confinement, not offering any explanation to the child in question. Keep in mind, these kids are seven to nine years old give or take. They would keep the kid in there for hours while their wails of pure terror echoed throughout the entire school. And if the kid was let out before end of day, they would be covered in bruises because of how hard they fought to try and get out. Let's just say this school kept kids in line by the use of fear :)
