So this 30 year study on attachment styles just came out and it shows that childhood friendships play a crucial role in platonic and romantic attachment in adulthood.
This isn't new information for me as an autistic person, but it is validating to see it acknowledged in a study. I see and hear autists and ADHDers talk about this all the time, about how traumatizing it is to be subtly and overtly excluded as a child.
It's one of those "well yeah obviously" study results that are still important to have. I'd love to see more studies on childhood friendships, especially focused on autistic and ADHD kids growing up.
