Description: Haruka and Michiru are canon in every version of Sailor Moon. In the manga and in Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie, Setsuna lives with them and co-parents a child with them.

Description: Wild west sci-fi Arthuriana. These three are in an established relationship by the time that Arthur becomes "Sheriff" of Camelot. He's nominally the leader, but they rule as a triumvirate, ambitions kept in check by one another. When they need to go on a journey to stop the space station they live on from falling into the star they're in a decaying orbit around, they go together. When it turns out that only one of them can have complete control over the station's systems (via the GRAIL) they almost have a standoff about who can access that power, but ultimately their fondness for each other is more important to them than their ambitions.

Description: When we meet the team at the beginning of the movie, it's very clear that they're all exceptionally close and dear to each other. They all have great chemistry with each other, are very touchy, hugging, platonic-ish kisses. And Niles is the newest member of the team, newly immortal at the beginning of the film. And if becoming part of the polycule is inevitable, then she will be eventually, but at the moment she's just got some good vibes with Andy (intense and flirty in places) and she's friendly with the team. And commonly reported is the fact that Greg Rukka, who was behind the comics, insisted that if Netflix was going to do an adaptation they were required to keep Joe's speech when he and Nicky are kidnapped by some military types who make fun of them being close to each other, and keep the two of them explicitly canon.

Sasha/Anne/Marcy

Description: It is shown time and time again how much they matter to each other. Sasha literally says to Anne about Marcy "let's go save that lovable nerd". Sasha blushing at Anne on multiple occasions and looking at her with heart in her eyes, forgiving all of her faults. Marcy's favorite dream is her and the girls all being together. They matter so much to each other and can be easily seen as a queer platonic relationship, they're just... on another level. They all experience this bond a bit different, but they will fight and kill and die for each other. They are everything.

They go into business with a prostitute named Max, making her a Madame of their brothel, and after some very intense stuff goes down, the Very Reserved Anne falls for Max, and the three enter and oft- tumultuous, oft-satisfying, heavily negotiated relationship which persists on and off in different strengths and permutations throughout the run of the series.

Quincey/Jack/Arthur/Lucy

Description: Lucy laments not being able to marry three suitors, and later in the book the blood transfusions she has received from the three men (and a fourth but he's.. not in this polycule. He's married and not into bigamy lmao) are compared to marriage. The three suitors all get along very well with one another and the two that have their proposals of marriage rejected by her are still willing to stand by her and her fiance's side.

Description: The three of them were childhood friends who all received a scholarship to the Solstrice Academy, and together caught the eye of an influential mentor. Under the guise of nationalism, he groomed the three of them into the role of magical assassins/spies/interrogators. The three of them also entered a relationship as they became isolated from the rest of their peers. After Caleb/Bren had a mental breakdown thanks to some backstory stuff, he was isolated from Astrid and Ealdwulf, who consoled themselves with one another. Caleb ultimately went on to oppose Astrid and Ealdwulf, however, there was still a sense of fondness/missed opportunities/regret for the loss of the relationship between the three of them when they eventually met again.

Kieran became king and couldn’t have any mortal consorts while living in Faerie so they’re bending the rules and live together in a little cottage that is neither on mortal nor fey land. 

La’gann/Coral/Rodunn

Description: La’gann, Coral, and Rodunn are canonically married. La’gann is a superhero and Coral is a diplomat, so busy/dangerous jobs, but they make time for each other. La’gann is distressed not to be able to be there when Coral goes into labor, but Rodunn is with her and she delivers with no complications.

Consequently, they decide to terminate the arrangement and bring Izzy into the marriage as a lover. This opens up a world of new challenges as they find themselves having to navigate their way through a minefield of prying, nosy neighbors with narrow social norms and prejudices, whilst at the same time struggling to confront their own feelings and insecurities, and adjust to the unfamiliar dynamic of a non-typical type of polyamorous relationship.

Description: Drummer joins an existing polyamorous family & crew of a salvage spaceship. It is an uncommon but not unusual practice for crew members to be married (to solidify everyone's equal stake). However, this family is canonically shown to be in love, to have sexual relationships between members and to deeply care for one another in the face of the harsh realities of life among the Asteroid Belt.
