‘Fox’ - Some purely self indulgent art that I’ve been toying with. Practicing my knot work and trying to loosen up my line art. - #fox #foxart #wolf #wolfart #celtic #celticart #celt #celticknotwork #welshartist https://www.instagram.com/p/CTT_CHTjgTM/?utm_medium=tumblr
Thankfully we’re getting closer to the day that in the uk we can continue into our craft of tattooing 🥳 I know many of you are waiting to get booked in again 🥳 I can’t wait to get rolling again and see you all again, and continue with projects such as this.... freehand coverup piece inspired by Celtic arts of the ages. Excited to share the latest addition to my #etsy shop: "What a Tangle" - Pyrography Art ! https://etsy.me/2CcN3zQ
I've been chipping away at this commission for a few weeks now and I think I'm about finished! . I might add a bit more shadow under the mountain but I'm still at the stage of starring at it at great length to figure out what's missing. If something missing. . This illustration depicts Mannanan, the Celtic God of April. He is responsible for fog and wind, hense the misty tone to the main picture. I drew a Celtic knotwork inspired frame around the main image, incorporating flowers and meadow grasses as a nodd to the seasonal offerings left in his honour at Midsummer. . He is wearing his cloak of many colours, which brings with it changing weather, and is riding his magical horse, who can travel both on land and sea. . I used coffee, ink, colouring pencil, and Moon water (charged under the Pink Supermoon of April) 💚 Special thanks to @jojeffery2011 For asking me to create this. It was right up my street and my imagination thrived with this one. 💜 🖤 🌕 #manannan #celticart #paganart #april #supermoon #celticgod #loveroftheoldways #mountains #moonlight #moongoddess #coffeeart #moonart #horse #celticknotwork #natureart #moonwater #witchstyle #witchydecor #witchyvibes #moonwitch https://www.instagram.com/p/B_UygvQlNe-/?igshid=1ccml9fbqikfk
"Ich stand mir selbst gegenüber,
der Speer in der Hand blanker Hohn.
Verschwunden der Hirsch,
geblieben bloß ich.
Aus meinen Schläfen spross sein Geweih
und im letzten Licht der Sonne stand ich,
nicht Jäger noch Beute,
bloß ich..."
(FAUN - "Cernunnos")
Well, since I have touched my watercolors not once for at least half a year, I figured it really was time to use them again. I totally love the organic feel they give to a piece, but since I have very little experience with the medium I still tend to go for copic markers instead. But for this piece I decided to finally step out of my comfort zone, not only because of the watercolors, but also because this was my first time working with leaf gold. And I have to admit, I'm super happy with the result, even tho applying it was a huge mess and the smell of the adhesive made me gag XD I'm also kind of in love with my little snake ornament at the bottom, which I constructed referencing a book by George Bain, the master of Celtic artwork himself :D
This was my first Award Winning piece of embroidery. I did it in the early 90s. It survived s couple of Renaissance Faires before it came back to me. . . #embroidery #handembroidery #originalembroidery #stitchery #stitchersofinstagram #embroiderersofinstagram #celticcross #celticknotwork #originaldesign #handstitched #bluecross #bluecelticcross #art #fiberart #fibreart #dmcthreads #awardwinningart #awardwinningembroidery #embroiderersguildaward https://www.instagram.com/p/B_F_0bmJ_JD/?igshid=9h27qywit5rd
