Seriously, the text of FF7 doesn't particularly suggest that Aerith (and by extension, the Cetra as a whole) has any kind of power nobody else can have. Like everybody has their own particular abilities, and they're all pretty impressive in their own ways. (Like Cid summoning a dragon, hello???) Honestly Aerith could probably just tell and show Zack how to talk to the planet and he'd get the gist of it in like an afternoon.
