Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 157

In the manga, Christina only lasted just enough to hit one leg, and then they immediately crashed.

In the anime, they remained in the air long enough to finish all communication. I think because they didn’t wanna animate the crash or something? But I adore the implication that Sherry’s magic was most crucial to keeping the ship moving, because it started crashing the panel right before she gave in first.

(Also, I adore the way Mashima kept Ren’s face scar.)

The conversation continues from the ground. I think this makes more sense to emphasize that they’re really completely out, and just lifting it was pushing the limits, they didn’t have time for a motivational speech in the middle of it all.

Also, this makes it clear from the start that all of them survived the crash, and there was no doubt or tragedy before they all went to the six different spots.

Okay, these two scenes are so powerful to me.

Natsu doesn’t have this moment because his Galuna opponents aren’t here, so only Erza and Wendy called out to him, but these two are beautiful, especially because the arc initially sets these four up as parallels of each other.

Lyon is calling Gray out for not disgracing the name of Ur.

Sherry, who couldn’t have cared less if the entire village on Galuna died horrible, acidic deaths for her benefit, can now admit that she doesn’t want Lucy to die.

I love that these two’s character redemption arcs actually properly concluded.
