Mass Effect Characters Ranked by Quality of Hug

1. Kaidan. 9/10. Hugging a superior officer is definitely against regs, but he’s not going to say anything. To the Alliance, anyway. He’ll definitely remind you that it’s against regs and you should just consider the implications of hugging him. Worth it for those beefy Canadian arms.

1. Ashley. 9/10. Tell her to kiss a turian, and she’ll say, “which cheek?” Ask her for a hug, and she’ll say, “Aww, of course, Skipper!” As the oldest sister of four, she’s got the experience to excel at comforting hugs.

3. Liara. 7/10. Her constant attempts to get into your pants mind are a little awkward, but her hugs are heartfelt.

4. Tali. 6/10. Hugging isn’t really part of quarian culture. That said, she’s game to try, and she’s even pretty good at it, even if you both end up wondering nervously how her filters are doing.

5. Chakwas. 5/10. She’s not really sure why the hug is happening, and she gives you a solid pat on the back throughout. She ends it with a stiff, “Carry on.”

6. Garrus. 3/10. Honestly, it’s kind of difficult to figure out what angle of approach to use in order to get your arms around this big, spiky man. His chest sticks out too far for comfort, but from the sides his hips risk causing injury. When asked how turians normally do it, he responds helpfully, “They don’t.”

7. Joker. 1/10. You want to do what? With who? No thanks, feelings are for other people and he’d prefer all his bones remain intact today.

8. Wrex. 0/10. Do you know what it’s like to have every segment of your spine crushed simultaneously? Do you want to find out?
