It was a lovely day—not because of the weather per se, but more due to the warmth that filled your heart as you watched your handsome fiancé. You spent your day off from work holding him close to you, talking about all sorts of things while peppering each other’s faces with soft kisses and sweet pecks. Times like these were his favourite ones as well—you updating him on how your week went, while he either played with your hair or caressed your back, listening to you attentively. Today is one of those days.
After doing nothing but laughing together like two teenagers in love, you were now waiting for him to come out of the shower, playing with your sweet puppy when the dainty piece of jewelry that hugged your finger caught your attention again. You took your time to admire the way it stood out in contrast with your pet’s brown fur, a smile stretching your lips as your heart swelled with pride—you really are Ji Changmin’s fiancée. A squeal escaped your lips as your lover’s frame appeared at the doorstep, rolling his eyes playfully at your reaction (when, in fact, he was the happiest man because it was him who had this effect on you, being the reason for your happiness for quite a while). You already knew he was used to your reaction, hence you didn’t even get embarrassed anymore—instead your eyes stopped on the way his arms flexed while he dried his hair with the towel, a few droplets of water streaming on his skin and down his comfortable t-shirt. Your pet seemed excited to see him as well as it started to move its tail happily, inviting him into your little happiness bubble.
“C’mere, sweetheart,” you gestured, raising your hands just enough to take the towel from his.
He gave it to you and smiled contently when you started drying his hair, massaging his scalp in the process as the fresh smell of his shampoo engulfed your senses. His hair was soft, the wet strands occasionally tickling your skin, making you chuckle once more. You lean to press a kiss on his temple, then his nose, and finally, his lips.
“Missed me, angel?”
You smiled and was about to answer, when you saw him not even paying attention to you but the little puppy cuddling next to him instead. Your heart bubbled with happiness as you watched him hold Ghana close to his chest, not wasting any time before taking your phone from the nightstand and snapping a few pictures of the wholesome moment. “These are going to get framed,” you thought, already picturing your dream house, full of frozen pictures and memories of moments like this one.
“Oh, guess someone else missed me too—right, pretty puppy?” He kissed the pet’s nose and put him back on the bed, plopping his head into your lap instead.
“I missed you too, darling,” he admitted sincerely, grabbing your hand and playing with your fingers until they touched the precious jewel that he was so nervous to give to you.
His fingers hovered over it, making him smile while remembering the beautiful, yet emotional moment of his proposal. He was the happiest man when you said yes to the magic question, secretly screaming about it to his friends. He brought your hand to his lips and placed a delicate kiss on your ring finger, roaming around your soft skin for a bit before he raised his head to press your lips together in a sweet kiss, smiling almost immediately at the contact. He cupped your cheek in the process, pressing your foreheads together as you caught your breaths. You saw his dimples pop up in some sort of mischievous smile—what kind of idea popped in his mind?
“Wanna dance, my love?” he suddenly asked, already taking his phone to start searching for a slow song.
You were horrible at it, but how could you say no? He guided you to the middle of the living room, one hand around your waist as you had one on his shoulder, your free hande interlocking together. Your fingers were interlaced with his as you swayed your bodies to the slow rhythm of the background music, the shiny proof of your love adorning your finger perfectly. You both giggled when you occasionally tripped over your legs—but it didn’t matter as long as you were in each other’s embrace. It was a lovely day—not because of the weather per se, but more due to the warmth that filled your heart as you created precious memories with the love of your life.

Changmin (Q) X Reader
[A/n: I deeply miss tbz, and reorganizing my pc collection, while listening to their albums the other night, made me miss them more. I’m sorry if this isn’t edited as well, my job is frying my brain… So, I hope this is okay I just wanted a little piece of comfort tbh.]
------
You couldn’t help but fall asleep as Changmin drove you both home. His smooth driving and soft music pouring through the speakers lulled you straight to sleep no matter how much you tried to fight it. Your eyes close as you listen to his soft hums, drifting off to dreamland, where Changmin and you frolic and giggle together through a beautiful meadow.
Changmin smiles to himself as he watches you fall asleep in the passenger seat, turning down the volume of the radio as he carefully avoids every pothole. You look so peaceful that his heart swells in his chest as you softly snore. He continues to quietly hum along to your shared playlist as he drives you both back home.
When Changmin finally pulls into the parking lot, he grins over at your sleeping form as he unbuckles his seatbelt. You were supposed to watch movies together tonight, but you look too peaceful to disturb, so he sighs as he softly tells you, “We’ll watch them next time, babydoll…” His hand strokes along your cheek, before he gets out of the car and rounds his way to the passenger side and opens your door. He unbuckles you and carefully takes you into his arms and shuts the door behind him. He feels you nuzzle your face into his chest as he walks you up the stairs to his apartment.
He lays you down gently on top of his bed before he carefully changes you into something more comfortable, a hoodie of his and sweatpants before he changes into a similar outfit before he tucks you both in under the warm covers. He settles in against you, cuddling you close to his chest. And your soft snores lull him to sleep.
Before he wants to leave your arms, his internal body clock wakes him up at eight in the morning. He sighs, wanting to fall asleep again. But no matter how peaceful you make sleep seem, he can’t get himself to fall back asleep. So, after placing a gentle kiss on your forehead, he finally decides to get up, quietly leaving your arms to take a quick shower and maybe get breakfast out with you if you were awake and up for it.
In dreamland, you’re busy laying down in the yellow and pink meadow beside Changmin as you both talk about nonsense. Then, you start hearing the sound of torrential rain starting to come over the beautiful meadow, and you both gasp, quickly getting up to take cover. You run hand in hand through the rain and under a store overhang. You take in your soaked appearances and chuckle about how soaked you both got. When dream Changmin suddenly says, “Doesn’t that sound a lot like a shower running?” You tilt your head at him before you agree, “Yeah…”
And that’s when you start to wake up. Your eyes slowly open to find yourself alone in your boyfriend’s bed. You pout to yourself, already missing him. That’s when you hear the sound of a blow dryer running and you realize that the shower sounds must have been because of him. You look over to the curtains and see soft light starting to stream through the small opening of his blackout curtains. But you shake your head in disbelief, rolling over to pretend it wasn’t morning already. And nuzzle further into his comforter, not yet closing your eyes, but close to it.
And that’s when you see him emerge with a towel draped over his shoulders and his sweatpants hanging low, and you grin. He looks too good this early in the morning. He grins when he sees you’re awake and asks, “Do you want breakfast?” Your eyes blink more wildly, thinking you only fell asleep for a brief car ride, hoping the sunlight you saw a moment ago was just a trick of the light, and ask, “Is it really morning?” He nods and you pout, “And you didn’t wake me?” He shakes his head, “No, you looked too peaceful.” You sigh and put your arms out towards him. And he surges into your arms, making you both laugh as he hugs you back.
He nuzzles his head into your neck, and you sigh in contentment, this is exactly where you wanted to be. Sure, you missed out on movie night, but now that you were tucked into his arms, everything felt alright. You hum, “How does the pancake house sound?” You can feel his grin against your neck, “I thought you’d never ask~” You shake your head, and push him off you with a small smile teasing your lips, “Let me take a shower and get dressed, and we can go~”
He smirks, “Need someone to join you?~” You roll your eyes knowing that was exactly what he was going to say before you tsk, “You already took one…” And he hums, “It never hurts to shower again, especially with you~” You sigh, acting as if that’s not exactly what you hoped he’d say, “Fine. But only if you wash my hair.” He grins, already planning on doing so, “Deal.” He gets fresh towels from the cabinet before he joins you. His hands settle on your hips as you turn the warm shower on, and you couldn’t think of a better way to start your day.

a/n. changmin w his black glasses like in the babydoll stage actually DESTROYS me like wtf i need him...
A flurry of excitement filled your stomach as you peaked around the corner of the building you were hiding behind and saw your boyfriend standing with his back to you. You hadn’t seen him for months, and he didn’t know you had flown out secretly with the help of Chanhee to surprise him. He was talking about something with Eric, laughing at something he had said. You couldn’t see his face, but you could imagine that the dimples you loved so much were displayed.
Eric made eye contact with you, and you gave him a quick thumbs up— the signal you had both agreed on for when you were ready. You heard him bringing up an excuse of having to go to the bathroom, and dip back into the restaurant. Changmin leaned his shoulder against the wall, still with his back turned to you, and took out his phone to type something.
You felt your own phone buzz in your back pocket and bit back a smile. Of course you would be the first person he texted. You ignored the message, and silently crept closer, being as stealthy as you could so he wouldn’t be able to hear you.
Once you got close enough, you reached out and grabbed his thick black glasses from his face, pulling them off easily with a giggle. Changmin gasped in shock, brain not processing what had happened until he turned around in a rush and saw your smug face and your hand held up high with his glasses clutched between your fingers.
“Y/n! Give them back!” He laughed, reaching forward to grab them, but you held them just out of reach of him.
“They’re mine now!” You said, satisfied as you slipped them onto your face while your boyfriend watched in shock. It didn’t take long for his brain to finally process that you had been away from him for months and you weren’t supposed to be in front of him now, except you were.
“How did you-” His jaw dropped again in shock and he reached out to touch you, as if to check if you were actually real or not. Upon finding that you were actually standing in front of him, his body seemed to act faster than his brain.
He pushed you against the wall, closing you in with his hands on your shoulders. His lips were entangled with yours before another second could pass, and all you could do was sigh and kiss him back eagerly, hands finding their home in his dark hair. He had cut it while you were away, and while you had seen pictures, feeling it underneath your own fingertips felt different.
“Missed you too.” You giggled once he pulled away, still holding you close up against the wall. You took off the glasses you had stolen from him and carefully placed them back onto his face, kissing his nose after.
“You should’ve told me you were coming. I would’ve gotten you flowers or something.” He mumbled with a pout.
“That would’ve ruined the surprise.” You argued.
“I missed you so much.” He said, sounding relieved that you were back in his arms. He hugged you to his chest, breathing in your perfume and holding you like it was the last time he would ever be able to.

you and changmin giggled your way through the door of your shared apartment, the warm buzz of your date still lingering in the air. after dating for a few years and moving in together just a few months ago, nights like these had become your favorite kind of routine.
after locking the door, he slipped off his coat and wandered toward you as you busied yourself in the kitchen. "i want to do something," he declared, leaning casually against the chair by the dining table.
you handed him a glass of water and sat across from him, watching him take a long sip. "something?" you asked, curious.
"hmm," he hummed, placing the glass on the table. "something...nice."
without another word, he got up, and you followed him to your shared bedroom. he flicked on the dim lights, setting the room in a soft glow. you sat on the edge of the bed, tilting your head at him. "what is it, minnie?" you asked, your confusion laced with affection.
"get ready for bed, and i’ll show you," he said, disappearing into the bathroom to change.
a few minutes later, after finishing your skincare routine, you joined him on the bed. changmin was already there, scrolling on his phone while waiting for you. you slid under the covers beside him, pulling the warm, fuzzy blanket over both of you.
he put his phone aside and turned to face you, a playful glint in his eyes. before you could say anything, he started peppering your face with kisses non-stop —quick, soft ones that made you burst into giggles.
"changmin!" you laughed, squirming a little. "what are you doing?"
"i’m kissing you," he replied matter-of-factly, his lips brushing over your cheeks, nose, and forehead between words, "so that in the next life, i’ll know it’s you. the girl i fell in love with, incredibly."
your giggles softened into a chuckle. "what do you mean?"
he paused, holding your face gently in his hands. "i’m your lover in this life, right? so, i’m kissing you all over your face," he continued, punctuating each word with a kiss, "so that in the next life, there’ll be moles—little marks—and i’ll find you."
your heart swelled at his sweetness, and you couldn’t help but smile at how cute he was in this moment. "i love you, min," you murmured.
he grinned, his voice soft "i love you more than you know—and more than you think."

a/n: thank u best friend @csenke for beta reading i love u the most 😚 this is inspired by that instagram post changmin posted yknow which one i mean..,,,. And also a pinterest post that I loosely quote in the first 2 paragraphs
spin-off (epilogue) to my fic partners in crime!
Ji Changmin was never looking for perfection. He likes wrinkles in his sheets, coffee stains at the side of his mugs. His hair a little wind-blown. The apartment a little messy when he comes home– socks on the floor of the shared bedroom, the dishes laying unwashed in the sink. The flowers in the vase wilted and all dried-out, petals falling to the wooden table. The cramped space of the kitchen, your hips bumping every time you try to cook something together for dinner. The dirty window staring back at him when he tries to look outside to the street. The mornings when he wakes up a little too early, alongside with your alarm, and watches you get up from the bed with a grumpy expression on your face– it’s always hard for him to fall back asleep on the days when you work the morning shifts and he does afternoons, but he doesn’t find it in him to be annoyed.
Ji Changmin was never looking for perfection. He likes your face– even with the presence of dark circles that appear after you’ve worked a little too much and slept not enough. The hair you leave in the bedsheets and all around the apartment, leaving him sweeping it up once a week. He likes the freckles on your back and the chapped skin of your lips when he studies them late at night, taking you in. He likes it when you leave a message for him in the foggy mirror after taking a shower, never complaining about the smudges of the reflective surface.
He likes things a little messy. He likes things a little well-loved.
He never wanted a perfect life– he said goodbye to that ideal when he was just a little boy. All he ever wanted was something better. Something more. His own place, away from all the prying eyes and expectations. Something beyond his reputation. He never wanted perfection– he knew life wasn’t that fair.
You were both so young when you behaved 25– now, he realized, you’ve grown into tall children.
Ji Changmin unlocks the front door of your shared apartment at 7 in the morning after coming home from his night shift. In his hand is a cardboard box, and after discarding the pack of cigarettes onto the little table in the hallway and fishing for his lighter, he opens it and takes the little candle in between his fingertips. A click, spark, then a flame, the candle being stuck back into the white icing. Taking his shoes off, the box is back in his hands as he takes careful steps inside of the kitchen, knowing you’ll be there already, awaiting his arrival.
That’s the routine you two have. You only work morning shifts– Changmin, on the other hand, does both afternoons and mornings, and once a month, a week of night shifts. He comes home the moment you wake up for work and you silently say hello to each other in the quiet of your apartment. You got the place together after you ran away– one bedroom, one bathroom. Getting a lease was easier as a pretend couple, but somewhere deep inside of his soul, Changmin knew you were so much more.
Your back is turned to him, shoulders hunched over. The room is dark, the only light providing you two being the low light of the rising sun behind the window. He’s sure you heard his footsteps, but he still clears his throat and puts on a show for you, lowly singing the birthday song to you. When you turn around to look at him, the note he left at the kitchen table for you before he left for work in the evening is secured in your grasp and tears are dripping down your cheeks– a little by little, then all at once, like a waterfall, overwhelmed with emotion.
Changmin imagines today to not be easy for you. It’s your first birthday without family. You’re turning into an adult, with no supervision at all. There’s no one to reminisce over how tall you’ve grown and how much your face has changed over the years– only him. Only him and the lump in his throat as he watches you crumble in front of him, helpless.
“Blow the candle out, it’s starting to drip on the icing–” he says, having you laugh and shake your head at him. It works, though– as you take a step towards him and do as he says, closing your eyes momentarily to wish for something. Changmin won’t ask what your wish was, but he could probably guess.
“Happy birthday, dear,” he mumbles, putting the cake and the box onto the kitchen table– just next to the mug stain in the corner.
“Thank you,” he hears before your arms are thrown around his neck, chest on chest. You hold on to him for dear life, your nose burrowing into the crook of his shoulder. He gently cradles the back of your head, fingers slowly raking through your hair. His heart squeezes on itself when he feels your body tremble in his hold, making him try his hardest to calm you down. “For everything, that is. For sticking with me.”
Not every day will be easy– Changmin knew what he was getting himself into. It’s okay for you to walk on unsteady ground, though, it’s okay for you to look behind your shoulder after every step of the way. It’s okay for your world to break and crumble under your feet– Changmin will keep the pieces of you safe, like a building kit, and help you put them back up together again, the way they were before, like a lego house. Truth is, he doesn’t really have a tutorial or a guide, he doesn’t own a reference picture to how you were before everything– he met you at a very strange point in your lives– and so you might end up in a shape you didn’t have before. But that’s okay, because you’re back in one place– and although it may look and feel a little awkward at first, you will get used to it. You will grow to love it– just like he does. The new shape of you has character– it shows what you’ve been through. And that is fine. Beautiful, even.
He’ll love the new shape of you just the same way he loved the previous one. Maybe even more– since now, he has his hand in it. He’ll love it more gently. More deeply, as well. He’ll love the new structure as it grows, and he’ll love it even with its missing pieces and imperfections. He never once gave up on you, and he would never dream of doing that now.
“Always,” he whispers.
You pull away from him, but still stay within reach. Your hands rest on his cheeks, thumbs glazing his cheekbones. The boy feels his breathing catch in his throat, wordlessly awaiting your next move. Looking at you almost always puts him into a trance, but today, he feels almost enchanted with your sheer presence. He feels grateful for your existence– he guesses this is the sentimentality parents feel on their children’s birthdays. He knows he’s not really the one you’d like to hear the words from, but he says them anyway. “I’m really proud of you.”
It happens without him even noticing– you standing on your tiptoes, answering the heart’s calling. The chapped lips he’s spent countless nights watching are pressed against him, a reply to the wandering question in his brain of how they would feel against his. He breathes you in: all of you. All of your worries and your troubles, all of your joys and your smiles– of which you press one against his lips, making his knees weak and heart beating raw in the palms of your hands.
You’re like everything he’s ever dreamt of and more. Somehow, he thinks this bond was there in the stars for him, written into his fate. He was bound to meet you, one way or another– and if he could turn back time, he’d do the same things, over and over again, just to end up in this moment with you.
To an outsider’s eye, what you two have is not perfect, but he was never looking for perfection anyway.
Perhaps, he thinks, perfection is relative. Perhaps, this is what defines perfection for him: you two in your shared kitchen, holding each other, your birthday cake and the handwritten note he left for you watching you take another leap together– and truth be told, he doesn’t even know when it all happened. For him, falling in love with you went without him even noticing– a little by little, then all at once. One day, he was poking fun at you in the familiarity of the police office, and suddenly, he did all he could just to protect you.
(As long as I’m alive, you will always be loved.
Happy birthday to the best partner in crime life I could ever wish for.)

You were calling your friend on the phone in another room. You were so immersed in your conversation, that you didn’t hear his knocking on the door.
He sighed at the lack of response. He wanted to ask you what show you wanted to watch later for your scheduled movie date night. But with no answer, he decided to open the door. But, he froze when he heard his name.
“Isn’t he the cutest? People always say he looks intimidating, but they don’t actually know just how cute he is,” You rambled on and on, your legs kicking on the bed excitedly. “Like how clingy he is? He’s really clingy. And also pouty, especially when you tease him.” You let out a sigh. “I love him so much.”
Then, you looked at the time.
“I have to go,” You giggled. “i have a date with the love of my life.” You hung up and stood up. When you turned around, you were met with the sight of him staring at you shyly. He couldn’t even look you in the eye, his cheeks flushing. “Hi, Juyeonie?” You titled your head. Then your lips curled up mischievously. “Did you hear me talking about you?” You eyed him coyly.
He blushed even more.
“Yes…” He mumbled, looking down at the floor as he shifted. He let out a sudden whine. “But did you have to expose my habits just like that? It’s– embarrassing.”
You laughed and nodded, pulling him into a hug as you looked up at him. “Of course. I think your habits are the cutest.”
“But only you’re supposed to know about them.” Juyeon huffed with a pout. “Now the whole world knows.”
“Don’t be sulky.” You poked his cheek. “You’re too cute when you’re sulky.”
He whined again, making your eyes soften. “But I only want you to see this side of me.” He frowned, eyebrows furrowing.
“Okay, okay, fine.” You soothed him, brushing his hair out of his face in which he melted into your touch. “My big baby. Only for me.”
“That’s right.” He crossed his arms before pulling you into a heart-stopping kiss.
kevin
He wandered the house, tidying up random things and letting out occasional sighs of boredom. But suddenly, he heard your voice from across the apartment shouting. He was definitely worried as he rushed over to check on you. The door was slightly ajar and he could see that you were video-calling your friend.
He gasped, his cheeks immediately feeling hot. You were holding one of his artworks.
“Isn’t it so amazing?” You yelled excitedly. You kicked your feet with adorable giggles. “My boyfriend is such a great artist. I love him. Look how good this one is…” You pulled out another artwork. But what Kevin noticed was how gently you handled the canvases, which made his heart melt.
“Another one!” You beamed.
Your friend clapped briefly before giving you a worried look. “Y/n, maybe just calm down a bit.”
“No–” You shook your head stubbornly. “I have to show you another one–” Your words were interrupted when you heard the door creak open from behind. You whipped around to see him leaning against the doorframe, his arms crossed as he wore a fond smile.
“She’s right. Maybe take a deep breath?” He smiled.
Your body went rigid. “K-Kevin?”
“Hi, love.”
You hadn’t noticed your friend hang up already.
“What were you doing just now?” He laughed, approaching you, almost making you want to shrink with mortification.
“I was… showing your art…” You muttered.
“Really? Because as far as I know, that art was made specifically for you.”
“Was it?”
“Yeah.” He nodded. He pulled you into a tight hug, pressing a kiss to the top of your forehead. “Is the art pretty?”
“Of course it is.”
“Then the art was made for you. Since you’re beautiful.” He caressed your cheek.
You stammered, unable to come up with a response. Instead, you opted for burying your flushed face in his chest.
chanhee
It wasn’t often that your friend came over, so it was natural for you to be excited to see her again. The two of you went off to talk and have fun in another room as Chanhee kept to himself, scrolling through his phone with music playing in the background. But over the music, he could hear you speak his name. He tilted his head in confusion as he walked over the room.
He saw that the two of you were looking at the computer. Specifically, online shopping on a popular website.
“What about this one?” Your friend asked, pointing at the screen.
You stared at it for a second before shaking your head. “No. It has to be perfect.”
Your friend whined. “We’ve been looking for twenty minutes already.”
“If I’m trying to get a gift for him, it has to fit him,” You explained with a serious expression. “He’s already perfect! Something pretty, nice, and adorable… just like him.” You looked up at the ceiling with lovesick eyes.
Your friend rolled her eyes. “You’ve unbelievably whipped.”
“I am,” You sighed. “I’m in love with him.”
When your friend left, you decided to start cleaning up the mess that you two made. But suddenly, someone attacked you from behind, into a firm back hug. You immediately knew who it was, with his typical perfume and all. His chin was hooked over your shoulder as he peppered kisses all over your cheek.
You giggled. “What’s this for?”
“I don’t need a gift.” He whispered. “You’re all I need.”
You froze. “You heard everything?”
“Mhm.” He smiled. “Thank you for being so sweet.”
“Well, because it’s precisely you.”
He hummed in agreement. Then he kissed you again, this time longer and deeper. “I’m in love with you too.”
“Glad the feelings mutual,” You laughed.
“But what if I’m even more in love with you?” He challenged, smiling brightly.
“Oh, we’re making this a competition?”
changmin
You were currently on a video call with a family member and Changmin just happened to walk by. He was about to mind his own business when he heard you start yelling with frustration. He widened his eyes in fear that you were actually getting into a serious argument so he opened the door and peeked in.
“Are you seriously saying that he looks like a squirrel?” The younger boy on the screen looked at you skeptically.
“Yes!” You exclaimed.
“Uh…” He glanced down for a second before pulling up a hideous picture of a squirrel, mid-bite on his phone. “This is your man?”
You groaned, putting your head in your hands. “Why do you always pick the ugly pictures? Changmin is cute. A cute squirrel. Have you seen his cheeks when he eats? I want to squish them.”
“Jeez…” The boy rolled his eyes. “In love much?”
You snorted. “Like you would know.”
He gasped. “Woah. I’m blocking you.” And then he hung up. You fell against the back of your chair in disbelief.
“He actually hung up...”
“A squirrel, you say?” Your boyfriend appeared behind you, smiling cheekily.
You widened your eyes. “Changmin? How long were you– Where’d you come from?”
“Straight from your heart.” He wiggled his eyebrows.
“Okay, wow that’s cheesy.”
“Says the one who wants to squish my cheeks.”
You whined, “In my defense, you weren’t supposed to hea–” But he suddenly cupped your cheeks and pulled you into a deep kiss.
When he pulled away, he raised an eyebrow attractively. “Why don’t you call me cute to my face?”
“Why should I?”
“So I can kiss you breathless.”
“Really?” You smirked. You waited for a moment before leaning in and whispering into his ear. “Cutie.”
He laughed, his eyes darkening. “Oh, you better get ready.”
“Ah, I’m so scared.” You sarcastically joked. But then you yelped when he dove in and started kissing you with so much passion, you were in fact: breathless.
