Today the AOT official ending turns 5 years old - I still have a lot to say about my own mixed feelings on it.
• First, we’ll begin with Eren and Armin’s talk. On one hand, I like the two finally getting to see all the habitats they dreamed of seeing as kids through… Paths magic I guess? But on the other, their conversation is another story. I remember Eren mentioning that the chosen one by Ymir Fritz herself was actually Mikasa, and I’m like… okay?
• This was because she can do something which Ymir Fritz couldn’t - go against her ‘toxic’ love or something. Oh yeah, I’m still not a fan of Ymir having Stockholm syndrome, as it feels like a force plot point to connect her better with Mikasa - although the latter’s is no where near that level in my eyes.
• Then we get to Eren’s breakdown after Armin punched him as payback; that felt like the real Eren reaching back to the surface after so so long. Although it’s weird for him to say that he doesn’t want Mikasa to ever forget about him - despite him telling her to do so last chapter - it still felt nice to see him express actual emotions.
• Oh boy… and then we got Armin thanking Eren for creating global g*nocide (thank god that was cut from the anime version and their convo expanded).
• Soon it was revealed Eren had this kind of conversation with the rest of the alliance (except Pieck) and I sooo wished to have seen that - imagine the one between him and Jean.
• Speaking of which, you have NO idea how joyful and relieved I was to find out that my favourite boy survived! Those pins and needles I was on throughout the month prior finally left. I think I remember being happy Connie survived too? But my focus was entirely on Jean.
• On the opposite end, however, I’m still disappointed Levi didn’t pass away. Not saying I hate the guy, you fans, but it just felt necessary after witnessing everyone he’s ever been close with and yet he has to continue on without them - just let the man rest.
• Sasha being in the mist too was fine enough… but OMG WHERE THE HELL WAS MARCO?! *ahem* Sorry, still not over it. How come Jean never gets the chance to say one last farewell to the one which started his character growth? Or another option, have the boy smile at Reiner and Annie as some form of forgiveness?
• Oh but with that in mind, Reiner should probably have come to his senses and NOT forgive his awful mother despite her regretting everything in the end - at least acknowledge that they’re gonna need more time before properly reconcile. And Annie’s father should’ve been died as well, as some form of punishment for her too.
• Yeah yeah, Gabi lives too. Moving on.
• I do like the part at the end of this sequence with Armin coming to defend the ex-Eldians from the Marleyan guy, like a callback to when he defended Eren and Mikasa from the Garrison back in S1. If only Armin had these balls throughout the timeskip.
• Three years later, it’s confirmed that Historia gave birth to a little girl - hopefully called Ymir or Frieda - and let me say, I’m happy for her. After everything she went through with her own mother, she can finally be much better than her. Not happy she actually married Farmer-kun though.
• I did expect for the Jaegerists to survive, because like real life, some people just don’t know how to back down. Luckily Historia is still able to help, alongside our surviving cast whom are now ambassadors; hot take, but I like these professions for them.
• Lastly, there’s Mikasa and her resting at the tree with Eren’s grave. I understand that it can be hard to move on from the one you love, even after coming to terms that they’ve changed, but at least he gave an open ending for us to guess she’ll move on eventually (we don’t talk about the extra pages).

So in conclusion, it’s a mixed bag; Some good and some bad. It could’ve been much much worse but it also could’ve been a lot better. I ask you moots now: what are your own takes on the ending?
(I know my close friend’s opinion on it already 😅)
Inu-"I'll make you apologize and then be sad that you're still upset"-Yasha, everyone.
He's all set to be agressive when he thinks that he's the only one still upset. But when he finds out that she's still upset and angry, then all that revenge and vengeance fades immediately.
