So i'm listening to Epic the Musical again and so I'm labeling Starbound characters as gods/people from Greek mythology :)
Asri: Hesphestus but also like- Apollo? He's like a mix of both because he's strong and does the labor like Hesphestus but his personality is very Apollo-like
Evren: Dionysus, I personally think this is self-explanatory but if not-WINE DIVA
Tad: He gives Hermes to me-, I haven't watched much of the vods but from what I do know he seems like Hermes
Aura: Athena, specifically more EPIC Athena as it is not surrounding just her strategical smarts but her emotional smarts. Also her expectations, I know Athena is a little contradictory but Aura gives Athena to me. Although also in a weird way reminds me of Theseus? Or even Circe in the way that she had to earn respect. Also Daedalus.
Vesper: The deceiving side of Circe and also Vesper kind of being like how Circe turned Scylla into a sea witch- that's kinda what happened to Vesper when she decided to bully Aura-. Hermes in a trickster/thief way, also travels as Evren can fly and she can't, a contradiction as Hermes had to travel a lot through the world and the underworld and Evren being able to fly but Vesper not being able to.
Vic: Artemis because fox, a little Hermes to
Romeo: Hera. Specifically EPIC Hera. She gives me that vibe.
Mi-Go: Aphrodite BECAUSE of the whole Hephestus and Ares thing. I like for Mi-Go it would be a metaphor for wanting to find that soulmate but having to put up with another one/ones first to find that.
Epsilon: Hades or Nyx vibes. Is kinda there, you know it's there but struggle to where or what it's thinking.
Navi: Penelope as in waiting to wake up, only being able to talk to one person, etc, not the Odysseus part, more of it's loyalty.
Ronja: I don't know like- anything about her but her vibe gives me Helios for some reason.
Daiv: Aesculapius cause a healer and medicine, I feel like he's a mix with Apollo maybe.
Skye: Ares but with a mix of Helios and/or Hermes, I take fighter pilot seriously lol. Helios cause the chariot and Hermes cause travel but I think Helios makes more sense.
Laika: Prometheus with a mix of Achilles, don't ask me why- I just get that vibe.
Aeros: Seems Hermes like to me, I don't know much about Aeros but from what I do know, Hermes.
Starco: Minotaur. HEAR ME OUT specifically the Minotaur in Circe by Madeline Miller. Again, I don't know why, but it makes sense okay-

(For my second writing assignment, I wrote the following first chapter of a larger story that I might complete someday, if I can come up with a real premise)
The flickering glow of the streetlamp ominously illuminated Astrid’s pale skin on that cold July night. The wind brushed her bare shoulders as she stood in the carpark, her matching black leather pants and strapless top making no effort to warm her. She had known it would be cool tonight, but the air still created shivers down her spine. Icicles of condensation dripped down her freckles, tapping on the two spots on her neck, and travelling to the Southern Cross birthmark on her upper back.
On a night like this, the temperature was low and would continue to drop by the hour. Astrid could not help regretting the impulse decision to cut her wavy, amber hair from long to shoulder-length; and yet, as her misty grey eyes fell on the boot of her black Corolla, she remembered her purpose for being in the carpark. As time passed, her discomfort morphed into hard resolve as she readied herself to be faced by the person who had once loved her flowing locks most of all. At the slightest echo of a distant footstep on the asphalt, Astrid’s eyes twitched towards the sound, but her focus remained fixed to the ground.
“Hey there, little star. Do you have any stardust for me?” Out of the shadows, Stella’s sultry voice called out to Astrid with all the usual flippancy of a well-established dealer.
Astrid’s peripheral vision confirmed that Stella was as stunning as she was a year prior; her short, bleach-blonde hair was tied back, and her lightly tanned skin protected from the cold by the same scarlet trench coat she wore when they first met. The faint glimpse of the coat threatened to send a wave of emotion through Astrid, but she pushed it aside instantly and kept her voice hard, acutely aware that it was no coincidence that Stella was wearing it to this meeting.
“Nice haircut” Stella called out with the usual bravado of her voice, yet Astrid noted the slight tremor at the end.
Good, she thought. I hope it’s upsetting to see what you turned your pretty scapegoat into.
“It’s in the trunk. Grab it and go.”
Stella pouted her glossy red lips and strode closer to the car, to her. Astrid’s gaze remained fixed on the tarmac under her feet, yet still, Stella edged closer with that same smile that made her seem like an angel, a deceptive contrast to her true nature. “Oh, come on, little star. You still mad about Byron Bay?”
Astrid fought the urge to take the bait, but the twitch of her mouth conveyed the truth to Stella, who, unbeknownst to Astrid, had memorised the subtleties of her face long ago. Through that tiny, almost invisible twitch, Stella saw everything, and her smile vanished.
“You know…” Stella sighed. “You were great. No one else could ever move the load as well as you before, and no one’s been better since.” She was clearly trying to sound earnest, but even if it was somehow real, Astrid would not hear it.
“What a pity,” she snapped, “cause Macquarie’s not interested in handing out degrees to mules.” Astrid finally looked Stella in the eyes and said, “Especially not former convicts.”
I had to do an character assignment for my 2d animation class and I chose to do it of my d&d character. His name is Ichabod Avery and he is a paladin. I’ll be posting more stuff of him in the future.
We’re a very plot driven roleplay and we love that! But we don’t want to forget about our character development either! In order to allow your character to develop it’s important to understand where your character stands. What are their views on the world? What are their morals and values? How do they respond to certain situations? What are their motives? If your character is well worked out there should be a certain consistency the way your character acts and reacts throughout different threads with different characters. That’s why we created this super fun exercise so both you and the other players can get to know your character a little bit better! You can post the questions and their answers on your character’s blog. You can also post them in parts if you don’t have time to write them all at the same time. The main goal of this exercise is to really connect with your character and find out what drives them and why. Also to help the other players understand this as well!
