I answer 5 questions I read about Captain Marvel

Spoilers ahead!

1. The timeline of the Tesseract

People think the movie broke the continuity. it didn’t. Here’s an outline:

Creation of the Space Stone/Tesseract

The Tesseract was kept in Asgard until it was hidden in Norway.

It was taken by Red Skull and used by Armin Zola.

CA:TFA, the Tesseract was lost.

Howard Stark found it, studied it and led to the research for the Arc Reactor and the element that saved Tony’s life in IM2.

SSR was established then it became SHIELD. We can assume that Howard studied it as much as he can but, his knowledge and the technology of the time was limited.

Years passed and some time before 1989, Mar-Vell disguised as Wendy Lawson, joined SHIELD to, supposedly, steal the Tesseract (or gain information) but along the way, she realized the sad and ugly truth about war. Project PEGASUS was established. For SHIELD, it was for the continued research on the Tesseract but to Mar-Vell it was to help evacuate the Skrull refugees by creating a Light-Speed Engine. 

By this time, Howard Stark is still alive so, most likely he could be one of the project heads in PEGASUS. Did he know that Wendy is a Kree? I doubt it but I assume he trusts her. She must be at the top level of SHIELD to be trusted with the Tesseract.

By 1989, Mar-Vell knew there are Kree soldiers after her and the Tesseract so, she must’ve sent the Skrull refugees and the Tesseract to her secret spaceship. Testing of the Light-Speed Engine was top priority because they’re running out of time. Wendy Lawson/Mar-Vell died and Project PEGASUS was closed.

Events in Captain Marvel happened.

After Fury got the Tesseract back from Goose, the World Security Council revived Project PEGASUS. The Tesseract was kept there for continued research until the first Avengers movie where Loki stole it.

The rest is as we know it.

So no, there are no continuity errors regarding the Tesseract. As far as I know at least.

2. So, if the Avengers Initiative’s name is from Carol’s call sign, Steve Rogers is not the first Avenger?

No. Technically, Steve is still the first member of the Avengers Initiative so, he’s still the first Avenger. The name was inspired by Carol but she’s not added to the group because she left prior to its establishment.

3. Why did Fury trust Carol that easily?

This is baby Fury. He trusts easily. He’s not yet the hardened SHIELD Director we all know. Case in point, he knows Goose is a Flerken but he still put his face close to Goose’s face. 

4. Didn’t Carol destroy the Tesseract in the plane that crashed? Why is it suddenly in that spaceship?

No, the one destroyed was the Light-Speed Engine that houses the same energy that’s from the Tesseract/space stone. Think of it as Mar-Vell’s version of the Arc Reactor.

5. How did Fury know that Carol’s going to Pancho’s Bar?

Sure the movie was set in 1995 but it doesn’t mean that SHIELD isn’t high-tech enough to have an advanced surveillance system. The Triskelion already exists at that time and (if you watch Agents of SHIELD) the Bus, predecessor of the Zephyr One and the Hellicarrier. They have advanced satellite tracking and Fury’s boss (Talos in disguise) wanted to track Carol too and thus, would help.

What is your opinion of episode 9 of mcl?

I have to be honest, right? I can not be objective, since I do not play in MCLUL, sorry. I can only judge the end of the episode, since I read it with my friends. I laughed very loudly at the “hot scene”. I do not know why it is so. Usually, I am very embarrassed and blush at such moments, but this time it looked ridiculous. Maybe I’m just too prejudiced with new characters and Beemoov. I do not like what became of the game that I once loved very much. Perhaps Beemoov decided to attract a new audience with the help of fan-service, debauchery and alcohol. I do not like the image of the student that they create. I’ll just stay in my rosy world and close my eyes to what they do with MCLUL. My opinion? I do not like it and I will not play it. Sorry, that’s all I can say. Forgive me if I disappointed you, but this is what I think.
