Game: Honkai Star Rail
Characters: Cocolia x fem!reader (jealous and possessive Cocolia)
Type: Smut with plot
A/n: Belobog desperately needs more mommy characters why did I have such a hard time choosing one to incite jealousy in Cocolia 😭
Cocolia hadn’t intended to linger. Her official business with Wildfire was complete — words exchanged, threats laced with diplomacy, promises that meant little in the long run. But something pulled her steps down an unfamiliar alleyway, deeper into the cold town. She told herself it was instinct, a need to supervise. She didn’t admit it was hope. Then, she heard the voice — their voice — light and playful in a way she hadn’t heard in weeks.
"You have got to stop worrying so much over small wounds like this." your voice resounded faintly.
"Small wound? You walked in here like nothing was wrong and you have got a bruise the size of a heater panel." Natasha's voice resounded afterwards, a playful scolding tone.
Cocolia paused near the turn, the shadows obscuring her but her view was clear. You sat on a bench with your shirt half unbuttoned and loosely hanging from your left side to expose your chest and shoulder. A prominent bruise seared your skin diagonally, looking as if someone had slashed with a weapon. It was halfway covered by a gauze, courtesy of Natasha who sat beside you closely. She watched as Natasha dipped a cottonball in medicine and gently tapped it on your wound, a small hiss leaving your lips.
"Relax." Natasha pressed her other arm on your shoulder, "Breathe, I have got you."
You chuckled softly, "It’s barely a scratch, Nat. You should see the other guy."
Natasha’s fingers lingered on your shoulder as she smoothed the gauze into place. Her thumb brushed the edge of the bruise, a slow, tender motion that made you shiver. "Scratches don’t bleed through three layers of bandages." she murmured, her voice low and intimate in the dim alleyway. She shifted closer to tie the bandage properly, her breath caressing your collarbone and making you shudder for a moment.
From the shadows, Cocolia’s knuckles whitened against the brick wall. The scent of antiseptic hung thick in the air, mixed with the damp earth of the alleyway and Natasha’s faint floral perfume. She watched Natasha lean her forehead against yours briefly, laughing softly at something you whispered. It wasn’t betrayal. It was worse: casual intimacy, effortless and warm, like sparks igniting dry tinder. Cocolia’s jaw tightened, sudden dark thoughts ignited by an unknown voice lingering in her mind.
"Look." the voice said, "She will also betray you. She doesn't deserve you." the voice echoed in her mind.
Cocolia's breath hitched as she watched Natasha's fingers linger near your collarbone, tracing the edge of the bandage with practiced familiarity. The soft intimacy clawed at her ribs—the way you leaned into Natasha's touch, the ease of your laugh when she whispered something Cocolia couldn't hear. Every rustle of Natasha's coat, every shift of your body on that bench scraped against her nerves like flint on steel. She remembered colder nights when her fingers had traced those same collarbones, when your laughter had been reserved for whispered secrets under fur blankets. Now, it spilled freely into this damp alley for a woman who wasn't her.
"Ah, Y/n, if you are free some day…. would you mind accompanying me home for a bit? There's some things I have to talk about and it would be nice to have someone by my side." Natasha asked in a soft and pleasing tone, her eyes gazing into yours with a fierce look of yearning.
Before you could reply, Cocolia walked up to you, "There you are, Y/n."
Her voice shattered the alley’s intimacy like cracked ice underfoot. You jolted backward, hastily pulling your shirt over the bandages as Natasha withdrew her hand as if burned. The Supreme Guardian stood framed in weak streetlight, her glacial gaze fixed on Natasha.
"The clinic is four blocks west, Doctor." Cocolia stated, tone smooth as polished steel. "Unless Belobog’s medical procedures now require"—her eyes flickered to your half-covered bruise—"such extensive personal attention." Silence thickened the damp air, broken only by Natasha’s slow exhale.
You scrambled to button your shirt, wincing as fabric grazed the tender skin. "Cocolia, it’s not—"
"Supreme Guardian." Natasha interrupted, rising smoothly with her medical kit clasped tight. Her gaze didn’t waver. "The alley’s proximity made it practical for immediate treatment. Infection sets in quickly with underworld grime." She gestured toward your concealed injury, her voice clinical but threaded with defiance. "Y/n took a bad hit protecting miners from a collapsed tunnel. Heroics require prompt care."
Cocolia’s eyes didn’t leave yours. The alley’s chill seeped into her bones, colder than any blizzard. She noted how your fingers trembled on the last button, how your gaze darted between her and Natasha like a trapped bird. The medicinal scent suddenly felt suffocating, thick with unspoken accusations. That fierce yearning in Natasha’s eyes moments ago—it echoed in Cocolia’s memory, sharp as shattered glass. Her gloved hand twitched, itching to brush away the phantom touch of another’s fingers on your skin.
"You protected miners?" Cocolia’s voice was dangerously soft, each word a shard of frost. She stepped closer, her heels tapping on the bricks, "How noble." Her gaze swept over your bandaged shoulder, lingering where Natasha’s hands had been. "Yet you didn’t think to inform your Supreme Guardian of this… heroism?"
The emphasis cracked like a whip in the silence. Inside her mind, the Stellaron’s whispers hissed, "See? Secrets. Lies." She fought to keep her breathing steady, but the image of Natasha’s forehead against yours burned behind her eyelids.
Natasha stood her ground, though her knuckles tightened around her medical kit. "The collapse happened suddenly." she explained, voice clipped. "Y/n acted on instinct. There was no time for protocol." She met Cocolia’s stare head-on, defiance hardening her features. "Perhaps if your Surface patrols monitored the mines more closely—"
"Natasha." you cut in sharply, rising to place yourself between them. The movement pulled at your bruised shoulder, drawing a sharp gasp.
Cocolia’s glacial stare snapped to you. The Stellaron’s whispers surged, dark and insistent: "She silences you too. They conspire." Her gloved hand clenched at her side, knuckles pressing hard against the seam of her coat. She registered the medicinal tang in the air—sharp iodine and bitter herbs—mixed with alley dampness. Beneath it, Natasha’s faint floral scent clung to your clothes. The intimacy of that detail made her throat tighten.
Without warning, Cocolia seized your wrist. Her grip was iron-hard, colder than the bricks around you.
"You’re bleeding through fresh gauze." she said flatly, ignoring Natasha’s sharp inhale.
Her fingers dug into the pulse point beneath your sleeve, a silent command and branding. The alley’s chill vanished beneath the heat radiating from her fury. She pivoted, pulling you stumbling after her, your protest choked off as fabric scraped your wound. Natasha took a step forward, but a single glance from Cocolia froze her mid-motion.
"Attend your clinic, Doctor." Cocolia hissed, venom lacing each syllable. "Belobog’s Supreme Guardian handles her own."
The journey back was a blur of icy streets and suffocating silence. Cocolia marched through the city’s heart, past startled Silvermane Guards who snapped salutes she didn’t acknowledge. Her stride was relentless, forcing you to match her pace despite the throbbing ache radiating from your shoulder. The imposing gates of Qliphoth Fort swung open soundlessly at her approach.
Inside, the vast marble entrance swallowed echoes; the only sound was the sharp clicking of Cocolia’s heels and your uneven breaths. She never loosened her grip, dragging you past gaping attendants toward the private wing reserved for Guardians—a place you’d only ever seen under cover of darkness.
In her stark, high-ceilinged chambers, all cold marble and silver-edged furnishings, Cocolia finally released you. The abruptness sent you staggering against a velvet chaise. Her gaze swept over your disheveled clothes, the crimson bloom staining your bandage.
"Sit." she commanded, pulling a lacquered bell-cord beside the fireplace.
Her knuckles were bloodless against its polished wood. Below, Belobog’s snowy rooftops glittered under the Eternal Freeze—a view usually romantic, now chillingly isolating. You flinched as fabric pulled against torn skin, the scent of iodine still clinging to you like a misplaced intimacy.
Within minutes, the door hissed open, not admitting Natasha’s warm defiance but the crisp efficiency of a Silvermane medic whose frost-colored uniform mirrored Cocolia’s own chill. She approached with clipped steps, medical case gleaming under crystal lamps.
"Supreme Guardian." she acknowledged, eyes darting nervously toward your slumped form. Cocolia hovered near the hearth, back rigidly turned, the flames casting her silhouette sharp and predatory against the wall. Her silence was heavier than any reprimand, a suffocating weight pressing down on the room.
"Ensure…." Cocolia spoke without turning, her voice slicing through the crackling fire, "that the wound is thoroughly cleansed. Underworld filth carries contagions Silvermane physicians seldom encounter. Sterilize." Her emphasis lingered, thick with implication.
The medic nodded hastily, unpacking instruments with trembling fingers. You hissed as antiseptic—far colder, far sharper than Natasha’s—drenched cotton swabs scraped your bruise. Cocolia’s gloved fingers twitched at the sound. She pivoted abruptly, her cloak swirling like storm clouds. Her gaze pinned the medic mid-motion.
"Every particle of dirt." Cocolia breathed, stepping closer until her shadow swallowed the lamplight over your shoulder. The doctor froze, scalpel hovering.
"Remove all traces." Her stare dropped to your bandages, to the fading imprint of Natasha’s fingers still ghosting your skin.
The Stellaron’s whisper coiled around her thoughts: "Purge her touch. Only yours remains." Her jaw tightened. "Use gloves."
The medic flinched, fumbling for sterile gloves. Her trembling fingers struggled against the packaging, the crinkle of plastic loud in the oppressive silence. Cocolia’s shadow loomed over the chaise, cutting the firelight into sharp angles. Each breath you drew felt jagged against your ribs—part pain, part dread. The Silvermane’s antiseptic stung worse than Natasha’s gentle salve, cold and clinical. It smelled of chemical frost, devoid of the underworld healer’s earthy herbs that lingered stubbornly beneath your collar.
You squeezed your eyes shut against a fresh wave of agony as the medic scrubbed deeper, following Cocolia’s unspoken demand. Her sterile gloves scraped across tender flesh, wiping away not just grime but the phantom warmth of Natasha’s touch. Cocolia remained motionless, her glacial stare fixed on the crimson-streaked gauze discarded on the marble floor. Only the faint tremor in her clenched jaw betrayed the storm beneath her icy composure. When the medic secured fresh bandages, Cocolia finally dismissed her with a curt nod. The door clicked shut, sealing you in the suffocating grandeur of her chambers.
The silence stretched, thick and brittle. You leaned back against the chaise, exhausted, the harsh antiseptic scent still burning your nostrils. Cocolia strode toward the window, her cloak whispering against the floor. Belobog’s twilight cast her profile in sharp relief – a statue carved from unforgiving ice. The Stellaron’s whispers seemed almost audible in the stillness, urging isolation, mistrust. She paused, one hand resting on the cold glass pane overlooking the frozen city. Her knuckles were white. She was leaving, retreating into the fortress of her duty and poisoned thoughts.
"Back there, you didn't have to be so rude to Natasha." you spoke in a low voice.
Cocolia turned her head sharply towards you and crossed her arms over her chest in utter disbelief.
"It's concerning how swiftly you leap to her defense." she stated flatly, her voice dripping with venomous politeness. She paced slowly toward the chaise, her heels clicking like frozen droplets on the marble.
"Tell me, did she earn this loyalty when her fingers lingered on your skin? Or when her forehead pressed against yours in that filthy alley?"
The Stellaron’s whispers coiled tighter around her thoughts: "She chooses her. Over you."
Cocolia’s knuckles whitened against her forearm. "You allowed her to touch what belongs to me."
The accusation hung like frost in the air. You pushed yourself upright despite the pain flaring through your shoulder. "Natasha was treating an injury. Nothing more." Your voice held steady, but a tremor betrayed the effort. The chaise’s velvet felt suffocatingly soft beneath you—a contrast to Cocolia’s glacial gaze.
For a moment, her composure wavered. Her arms tightened across her chest, fingers digging into her own sleeves. Her lips pressed into a thin line, but instead of the expected icy fury, her shoulders slumped almost imperceptibly. She looked towards the window, her voice was uncharacteristically small, quieter than falling snow.
"I saw her forehead touch yours." She swallowed hard. "Mine used to be the only forehead that did that."
Your eyes widened at that, not expecting to hear something so…. tender.
"And…. the way you talked, giggled with her…. as if sharing secrets…. when was the last time you did that with me?"
You opened your mouth to say something but no words came out, only your gaze remained fixed on her surprisingly fragile expression. You pushed yourself up, ignoring all pains in your body, and paced towards her.
"She was just helping me…" you whispered softly as you approached her still figure, "Natasha was tending to my wound, nothing more." You gently reached out, fingers brushing her trembling arm. Even through thick fabric, you could feel the tension coiled beneath. You slowly grasped her hand, fingers lacing together.
"You haven't been very open either, you know? Of course, you cannot tell me everything as the Supreme Guardian, but you used to be more…. vulnerable, in the past."
Cocolia kept her gaze fixed out the window, her fingers tightening around yours. The Stellaron's whispers hissed like static beneath the strained silence.
"Everything changed after…" She trailed off, shoulders stiffening as Belobog's eternal snow swirled beyond the glass.
Her breathing hitched—a raw, vulnerable sound swallowed by the cavernous room. You stepped closer until your forehead nearly touched her shoulder blade, feeling the tremor running through her frame despite her rigid posture. The scent of frost and old leather clung to her cloak, mingling with the medicinal sting still lingering on your skin. Without warning, you wrapped your arms around her waist from behind, burying your face against the stiff embroidery of her uniform.
"I'm sorry." you murmured into the fabric, your breath warm against the small of her back. "For making you doubt. For not seeing how much it hurt you." Your embrace tightened slightly, careful of your bandaged shoulder. She froze entirely, breath catching audibly. Beneath your palms, you felt her heartbeat hammering frantically against her ribs.
"It’s irrelevant." Cocolia dismissed sharply, attempting to pry your hands loose. Her effort lacked conviction; her fingers trembled against yours. "Supreme Guardians don’t indulge in—"
"Look at me." You tightened your grip, spinning her around with surprising strength.
The abrupt motion forced her icy gaze to meet yours—wide, startled, pupils dilated like fractures in glacial ice. Her breath hitched as you pinned her wrists against the windowpane with one hand. The cold glass seeped through her gloves, a stark contrast to the heat radiating from your palms.
"You’re not dismissing me tonight." Your voice dropped to a husky murmur, thumb tracing the frantic pulse in her wrist. "Not when you’re shaking because you thought you’d lost me."
Cocolia’s lips parted, a protest dying unspoken. The Stellaron’s whispers faded beneath the roar of her own heartbeat, the feel of your body pressing hers against the frigid glass. Her glacial facade cracked, a raw vulnerability flashing in her eyes, quickly buried beneath a surge of possessive hunger. She surged forward, capturing your lips in a searing kiss that tasted of desperation and ozone.
Her freed hands tangled in your hair, pulling you closer, her teeth grazing your lower lip in a sharp, claiming bite. The cold window seeped into her back, but your warmth, the scent of antiseptic mingling with her own frost was an anchor pulling her under.
She broke the kiss, breath ragged. "Mine." she rasped, fingers already wrenching at the buttons of her own uniform.
The fabric fell away, pooling around her boots. Beneath, only a thin silk camisole clung to her skin. You pushed her back against the windowpane, the city's cold glow silhouetting her frenzied movements. Your good hand slipped beneath the silk, finding the frantic flutter of her ribs, the taut muscle of her abdomen. A choked gasp escaped her lips – not protest, but surrender. Her head tipped back against the freezing glass, eyes locked on yours with desperate hunger.
"It wasn't her touch I wanted." you breathed against the hollow of her throat, fingers tracing the lace edge of her camisole. The Stellaron's whispers seemed distant now, drowned by the ragged sound of her breathing. You kissed along her jawline, tasting frost and salt-sweat.
"It is always yours." Her gloved hand tangled in your hair, pulling you closer with possessive force. A shudder ripped through her as your teeth grazed her collarbone, marking skin only she could claim.
"Y-You are injured…. we shouldn't— aahn!~" her protest ended with a moan when your lips closed around her nipple.
The silk camisole slid away beneath your palms. Cocolia’s bare skin was marble-cool against yours, her gasp sharp and vulnerable as your tongue traced the hardening peak. She arched off the windowpane, her fingers digging into your scalp—not to pull away, but to anchor herself as tremors wracked her frame.
Every controlled breath shattered when your teeth scraped her sensitive flesh. The Supreme Guardian’s composure evaporated like steam against frost, replaced by raw, shuddering need. You felt her heartbeat thundering against your lips, a frantic rhythm syncopated with the Stellaron’s fading whispers.
Her whispered plea, a half command and half whimper, dissolved against your kiss: "Harder…"
You smirked, "As you wish, Supreme Guardian~"
Your fingers slid beneath the lace-edged camisole, pushing the silk upward until it bunched beneath her breasts. Cocolia gasped as cold glass kissed her exposed back while your warm mouth enveloped her other nipple—sucking hard, just as she’d demanded. Her head thumped against the windowpane, breath fogging the frozen view of Belobog below.
Her gloved hands scrambled for purchase on your shoulders before abandoning restraint entirely, tangling in your hair to hold you fiercely against her. Sharp tremors ran through her as your tongue circled the hardened peak while your good hand slid lower beneath silk, tracing the dip of her navel. A choked cry escaped her when your fingertips brushed the damp lace clinging to her heat.
Behind the window, Belobog buzzed like a kingdom, unaware of its ruler being pinned against her own castle window and getting devoured. Her fingernails dug into your scalp, urging you harder, deeper, as you moved lower, kissing along the quivering plane of her abdomen.
Each press of your lips drew a gasp, a hitched breath that fogged the glass. When your mouth finally met the soaked lace of her underwear, her hips jerked forward instinctively, seeking the heat of your tongue. She cried out—sharp, unrestrained—as you dragged the fabric aside with your teeth and tasted her directly.
"Y/n—stop— mmh!~" Her protest dissolved into a broken moan as you sucked gently on her clit. Her thighs trembled, pressing against your shoulders, trapping you against her.
Cocolia's fingers scrambled against the freezing windowpane, knuckles white. Her breath came in ragged gasps, fogging the glass.
"Th-This is… undignified…." she stammered, voice thick with embarrassment, refusing to look down at where your tongue traced slow, torturous circles. A flush crept from her collarbone to her cheeks, clashing violently with her icy persona.
"Someone could see….the guards patrol—" Her argument faltered when your teeth grazed her sensitive flesh, drawing a sharp cry she muffled against her own wrist.
You chuckled low against her heat, the vibration making her thighs clamp tighter around your head. "No patrols pass this wing, especially when you ordered not to be disturbed earlier." you murmured, nipping lightly. Her hips bucked involuntarily.
"And dignity?" Your tongue dipped lower, tasting her deeply. "You shredded yours when I bent you over your desk the first time~" The reminder shattered her remaining resistance. With a helpless whimper, her head thudded back against the glass, fingers tangling in your hair not to push away, but to anchor herself as tremors seized her.
Her hips rolled instinctively against your mouth, chasing the pressure. You slid two fingers inside her, curling upward against that sweet, hidden spot. Her cry tore through the room, raw and unguarded, as her body arched violently off the window. You sucked her clit fervently as your fingers scissored inside her, drawing out her essence.
"Oh god—Y/n!~" Her plea fractured into breathless cries. Her thighs trembled against your temples, slickness coating your chin. You felt the telltale tightening around your fingers, her muscles coiling like overwound springs. Her breaths turned shallow, frantic, punctuated by choked whimpers. Her fingers clawed blindly at the windowpane, leaving smudged streaks.
"Inside…" she gasped, hips jerking against your mouth. "Deeper—!"
Her voice cracked on the command. You obeyed instantly, curling your fingers harder against that velvet-rough spot within her as your tongue flicked rapid circles over her swollen clit. Her spine arched violently—a taut bowstring snapping. A raw, shattered cry ripped from her throat, echoing off the marble as her climax tore through her. You pinned her hips against the glass, swallowing every tremor, every pulse of her release as her legs buckled.
She slumped bonelessly against the windowpane, chest heaving, her reflection in the frost-streaked glass showing flushed skin and disheveled hair—utterly ruined. You slowly withdrew, pressing a final kiss to her quivering thigh before rising. Her gloved hand shot out, fingers tangling weakly in your shirtfront, pulling you close until her forehead rested damply against your collarbone. Her breaths fanned hot against your neck, shaky and uneven.
"Don't…" she rasped, voice ragged. "Don't you dare leave me after that." Her grip tightened, knuckles pressing hard into your sternum. The scent of her climax clung thickly to both of you—musky sweetness mingling with antiseptic and frost. The Stellaron’s whispers were utterly silent now, drowned beneath the frantic drumbeat of her heart still pounding against your ribs. Her surrender felt fragile, terrifying.
You slid your good arm beneath her trembling legs, lifting her effortlessly. She stiffened momentarily, not expecting such strength when you are injured, then melted against your chest as her bare skin brushed yours. Her fingers curled into your collar, face buried in your neck and legs locking around your waist. The journey to her massive canopy bed felt intimate, hushed. You laid her on silk sheets the color of winter twilight. She watched you through heavy-lidded eyes, cheeks still flushed, breath shallow. When you moved to stand, her hand shot out, gripping your wrist.
"Stay." she whispered, voice raw. It wasn't a command, but a plea. Her knuckles whitened around your wrist bone. You kicked off your boots and settled beside her, careful of your throbbing shoulder. She shifted immediately, pressing her ice-cold feet against your calves and draping an arm across your waist. Her head found the hollow of your shoulder, damp hair tickling your jaw.
The silence pooled thicker than the velvet canopy above. Only her uneven breaths broke it, each exhale warm against your throat. You stroked the tense ridge of her spine beneath silk, feeling the tremors gradually soften. Her eyelids fluttered shut, lashes casting fragile shadows on cheeks still fever-flushed.
"I'm sorry, I overreacted." she finally said, looking up at you and cupping your face.
You smiled and nodded, "It's fine, I understand."
She smiled back then leaned down to softly kiss your injured shoulder then pulled you close, nuzzling you against her chest. Her heartbeat had slowed to a steady rhythm under your ear, a comforting metronome against the lingering sting of antiseptic. Outside, Belobog’s eternal snow continued its silent dance, frosting the arched windows.
The fire crackled lower now, casting long, wavering shadows across the silk-draped bed. For a while, there was only this: her fingers tracing idle patterns on your spine, the shared warmth beneath heavy velvet blankets, the distant chime of the Fort’s midnight bell tolling through stone corridors. A fragile peace, woven from exhaustion and forgiveness.

Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈 I thought it might be fun to make a small edit of some of the popular LGBTQ+ ships in Star Rail as HSR is one of my favourite things jsjsjsj. Anyways, if you don't agree with/like something you see, no need to get confrontational about it -- just scroll :) Enjoy! ✨️
(Also, ik this is not an original idea, I just thought it'd be fun lol)
Thanks to you, the player returning to the universe as the aeon of salvation many characters have gained self-awareness.....including some others in the form of simulated universe and weekly bosses
It all started during a random simulated universe run against cocolia with Stelle, bronya, seele, and Natasha, and as usual, they totally crushed her and the fake bronya but as you go to claim the rewards in game cocolia suddenly reappears which causes everyone to reach for their weapons but instead of fighting them she just hugs bronya tightly while crying
Cocolia: I'm so proud of you......and I'm sorry
But before the stunned bronya could hug her supposedly dead mother back, she glitches and shatters into small shards, pixels, and data right before her (imagine the death animation from season 1 of sword art online)
Now, this absolutely destroyed bronya as once everyone left the simulated universe and you logged off, they returned to belobog. She just broke down and sobbed in Seele's arms
And then about a week later the same thing happened to serval during the first phase of the fight you decided to pause and take a bathroom break and that's when cocolia put down her spears, approached serval and hugged her while apologizing over and over but as you returned and unpaused the game she lept back into her original spot and continued the battle
But for some reason, you couldn't use serval at all. She couldn't attack, couldn't use her ultimate all because of a new debuff you've never seen or heard of before [Heartbroken]
I just realized if HSR had made this UBW collab take place on multiple planets, we could’ve gotten something brutal like Bronya being a Master and the Heroic Spirit she summoned was Cocolia. Imagine her mother learning that she chose to lie about her death, which is the reason why she got summoned with such incredible power.
The entire mindset of the Xianzhou is “what room are there for legends for those who never die?” There’s a certain dead quintet member we could’ve seen. Or the grail could’ve been mean and summoned Dan Feng as a separate individual.
Problematic because: "She’s the eighteenth leader of Belobog, ruler of a city that’s already barely surviving an ice age and dimensional corruption. She fully sides with the Stellaron, the thing causing most of the planet’s problems, because it promises destruction now and a “new world” afterward. She blocks off access between the Overworld and Underworld for years, leaving the miners, doctors, and ordinary people below to deal with poverty, monsters, resource problems, and being treated like they’ve basically been written off by the surface. She also turns on the protagonists when they start getting too close to the truth about the Stellaron, sends Bronya and the Silvermane Guards to attack them, and keeps trying to drag Bronya into her worldview instead of actually letting her understand what’s happening. Serval was once one of her closest friends, but when Serval wanted to investigate the Stellaron because it might be connected to saving Belobog, Cocolia shut her down, expelled her from the Architects, closed her lab, and basically cut her off. By the time the story happens, Cocolia is so far gone that she’s willing to sacrifice the city, her daughter’s trust, her old friend, and the Underworld because she’s convinced the current world is already doomed."
Propaganda: 1. "She’s supposed to protect the city, but she reaches a point where she doesn’t believe the city can be protected anymore, so she starts buying into the idea that destroying it and starting over is somehow mercy. That’s horrifying, but it’s also really sad. She loved Belobog once. She loved Serval once. She loved Bronya in whatever damaged way she still could."
2. "she was under impossible pressure. belobog is a nightmare job and i would not want it. but she still abandons half her city. she still lies to bronya. she still destroys serval’s career and friendship rather than let her get near the truth. she still decides that everyone else can be sacrificed for the “new world” she thinks is coming. that’s what makes her good. not because she’s secretly right, but because she’s a very believable kind of fallen leader - the kind who starts out trying to save everyone and ends up deciding nobody gets a say except her."
3. "“corrupted ice apocalypse dictator mom” is simply good character material. she has a giant coat, a tragic ex situationship with serval, an adopted daughter she is absolutely not being normal about, and a whole city where everyone is like “hmm the supreme guardian has seemed a bit off lately” while she is mentally subscribed to stellaron premium. also, i’m sorry, but her boss fight rules. if you’re going to become the final obstacle of the belobog arc, you might as well do it with dramatic music, ice powers, and the full energy of someone who has not processed anything in twenty years. i don’t think she did nothing wrong. she did many things wrong. i just think she did them in a way that makes me want to rotate her in my brain"
vs. Luis Serra Navarro (Resident Evil 4)
Problematic because: "in the og resi 4 he’s a biologist recruited by los iluminados to work on the plaga parasite, and he kept working even after it was clear the project involved illegal human testing and bioweapons research. in the remake, it gets even worse because he’s also explicitly a former umbrella researcher, with hunnigan’s report pointing out that umbrella probably wasn’t wasting one of its best scientists on harmless pharmacy work. then when he tries to get out, he doesn’t just go “wow, i’ve made mistakes, time to help people.” he contacts ada’s side, offers research data in exchange for escape, and is also expected to bring the amber - a plaga sample that could potentially rival or surpass saddler’s power. his own notes say he doesn’t think he can trust the outside group either, but he still needs to get the sample and leave. to be fair, he does also work on removing las plagas, helps leon and ashley, and clearly regrets what he’s been part of, but there is a reason leon hears “former umbrella” and immediately goes “i should’ve left him in that bag.”"
Propaganda: 1. "former umbrella researcher is a CRAZY thing to leave off your introduction. working for los iluminados on parasite research is also not ideal. making a deal with ada’s mysterious organisation to get yourself out of there? deeply suspicious. but then he shows up with his little jokes and his cigarettes and his “sancho” thing and suddenly i’m like okay fine, problematic scientist cowboy, let’s hear your side. what i like is that he actually does help. not in a clean “i was secretly good the whole time” way, but in a messy “i helped build this and now i’m trying to sabotage it before it gets worse” way. he’s shady, guilty, charming, useful, and clearly lying about at least three things at any given moment. perfect resi man honestly."
2. "He has scientist crimes. He has cult-researcher crimes. He has “worked for Umbrella” crimes, which in Resident Evil is basically the employment equivalent of finding clown shoes at a crime scene. But I can’t hate him. He’s too fun. He helps Leon and Ashley, he knows more than he’s saying, he is absolutely not trustworthy in a normal way, and yet when he dies you’re still sitting there like damn. the suspicious little science man got me."
Who should advance?
Cocolia Rand
Luis Serra Navarro
