I wish the solicitations for the Absolute series told us a little more. I'm trying to do more pre-orders with my local comic shop, both because i've missed some things (had to get the 3rd printing of Absolute Superman #1), and Diamond's troubles are likely to make distribution more chaotic for a while. So adding things to my list beforehand will hopefully make things easier for me and the folks at the comic shop. However. Check out these blurbs for three new series coming out in March.

Ok, we have a strong theme here, and that's good, but it doesn't tell me what the comic is about. It tells me what it's NOT about, which doesn't tell me anything that's not already inherent in the basic concept. The one about Martian Manhunter seems like it will be more heady or philosophical because they used "beyond" instead of "without", which is a smidge more, but still (and the covers contribute a lot to that impression). So i have to go with attachment to the character, whatever feelings i have about the creative team, and how cool the cover is -- the same things I'd have if there wasn't any solicitation copy at all.

So...I guess I'll skip Flash. It could be interesting to see how they explain his powers without the speed force, but then, the speed force only showed up in the mid-90s, and Barry had been around since the mid-50s. I read plenty of speed-force-less Flash stories when i was a kid. Ditto the mentor stuff. Maybe it will be great and i'll be waiting for another 3rd printing, but i can't buy everything.

Maybe i will add Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern to my list. MM looks trippy, and sometimes i dig trippy superhero comics. Also, I tend to enjoy Javier Rodriguez' art. GL at least looks cool on the cover. The emotional spectrum thing has dominated GL series for too long IMO, so hopefully this won't use that idea. This GL isn't without a ring, though. Look at their ring finger. It's hard to believe they don't have any willpower, too.

Lots of fun Halloween stuff planned for October, especially with the "Midnight Universe" launching this month, which looks very promising! Tomb of Apocalypse and DNX continue, but apparently no more main Wolverine ongoing? Or at least, not this month.

Hard to say right now (I suspect we'll have a better idea after Comic Con), but we could be gearing up for another massive relaunch pretty soon. It would make sense as Generation X-23 is approaching #10, Inglorious X-Force just hit #10, and apparently (depending on how accurate some listings are), X-Men United is supposed to end at #10. Pair that with DNX at #3 (of 5) In October, a massive shake-up with all new teams could be on the horizon.

We'll see, I guess!

(Side note: This cover of Inglorious X-Force is absolutely hysterical to me. E'erbody gets a gun, lmao.)

We have a total of nine different Pride Variant Covers this year, no information yet as to whether it will have a specific theme. (For reference, the main Pride issue this year was announced in May 2026 Solicits, and is Wiccan/Hulkling focused). Luciano Vecchio seems to be the artist for the main Marvel line, while Rickie Yagawa is doing the Star Wars stuff (which is a connecting variant cover).

Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, and Mortal Thor all have variants in addition to what is listed above (and Star Wars stuff).

I'm gonna play it safe and assume Akihiro is going to be on the Inglorious X-Force Pride variant. Black Cat (a.k.a Felicia Hardy) is a safe bet for Spider-Man, and I would genuinely be surprised if Northstar isn't either X-Men United or Uncanny X-Men. (my bet is Uncanny, then Iceman for United). And then Thor would likely be Angela and Sera.

We'll see! It's fun to guess!

Lots of X-Books this month, in addition to Spider-books. I am currently very intrigued by the concept of Midnight X-Men, so I'm looking forward to that! Logan is also popping up with his broken claw in Laura's book, so that's an interesting detail (Though I do wish Akihiro could visit her next, just saying). And regarding Inglorious X-Force, I still have no idea what's going with Cable.
