LOST 2005 Pirates of the Caribbean Comic FOUND!
Hi everyone! For over 2 years now I have been trying to track down one of the few missing POTC comics from the Disney Adventures Magazine in the early 2000s. Last week I finally found someone who was selling the issue containing the lost comic named "Enter... the Scarecrow!"
This comic is a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover with the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, specifically the Disney version of the character based on the television show from the 1960s. It was the idea of artist Bret Blevins, who was the artist for most of the 2003-2005 Pirates comics, as he is a big fan of the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. It is a very cool and unique comic that I am so happy is no longer lost media. Hope you enjoy reading it!
If you prefer a PDF version of it, here you go: https://bit.ly/potc-scarecrow
Originally published in Disney Adventures magazine from 2002 - 2007, Disney Adventures Comic Zone magazine from 2004 - 2007 and the trade pa
Someone on the Internet Archive has uploaded a custom complied digitally scanned collection containing all the Lilo & Stitch comics in Disney Adventures' Comic Zone earlier this month!
This collection features all the comics "[o]riginally published in Disney Adventures magazine from 2002 [to] 2007, Disney Adventures Comic Zone magazine from 2004 [to] 2007", and the ones republished in 2006's Comic Zone Volume 1: Disney's Lilo & Stitch. It also contains several Lilo & Stitch-related ads and features that were also published in Disney Adventures.
Head over here to read some lesser-known pieces from the old days of the franchise!
I randomly found a POTC Comic Zone issue at a comic book shop yesterday! This particular one has an advert with an issue that has one of the first appearances—if not THE first appearance—of young Jack Sparrow.
I wasn’t sure if I already had this one since I have had a small collection of these, but I figured I’d probably flip it on eBay or do something else with it if I did. Turns out I didn’t already have it so I’m really happy to add something new to my collection!
Kim always loves teasing Ron satirically about his constant clumsiness😜, this canon quick n’ short comic was released in a newsstand or the local magazine section of your local grocery store/ Walmart, whatever. “Ron’s Greatest Hits!” was released on July 1, 2004!. “Disney Adventures: Comic Zone” was a replacement to the annual “Disney Adventures: Super Comic Special” in 2002 and 2003, and instead this magazine was released only quarterly 4x a year, this would have been the very first issue #1, it had a total of 14 issues with it’s last one in December 2007.
WELCOME TO THE COMIC ZONE
Watch here for updates on my comic, which has been officially dubbed... WOFFLES: the comic!
I will be attending Comic Con Germany 2018 in Stuttgart! Come visit me at my booth in the comic zone at 1R15c! I will have a lot of prints, comics and other stuff!
