decided to rework my FIRST CUPHEAD OC, so here’s a little art piece i did for’em !!
i don’t remember her old name, so i’m calling her calix for now (latin for “chalice”, lol). the only stuff i remember for her was that she’s literally just a black & white “evil” version of chalice lmao… i was inspired by @comick and her comic “in the dark”, as well as jhonen vasquez’s comic “johnny the homicidal maniac”.
all i remember of calix’s old lore was she was some sort of entity that started off as some dude sprinkling “magic dust” onto a mirror, and whoever looks into the exact mirror would have a b&w evil doppelgänger version of themselves come out, and that’s exactly how calix was born, because chalice was the unlucky gal lol…
im really proud of this, yaaaaay !!!!! i like the shading-style i tried, maybe i could start my own comic…
(also p.s: a “permanent shave” is an old saying from the 1930’s i believe that literally means to “slit someones throat” or “have a slit throat”, something like that. i was inspired by the lyrics/dialogue in a old 30s cel-animation called “swing you sinners!” by dave fleischer. probably one of my faves !)
