When you look like you’re in off season but really 10 weeks out 😂😂😂
Carving out obliques! It's so tough getting workouts in when you have a 7 month old and 2.5yr old waking you up throughout the night, but it's even more tough to stick to your macros when sleep deprivation kicks up your coffee, chocolate, and chips cravings.
01.01.2018
I love the start of the new year. It is a fresh start. I especially love it because this week is when I am moving back in with my parents. I will go back to having my old desk and lots of bookshelves and my own work area that I did not have at my apartment.
I have so many ideas and so many new goals, but I have not yet had a chance to put them on paper. Once I get my desk and room set up, I will write out my new goals list for my fitness and business goals. I can fell it. I am going to make this year great. I already have my equipment list for my home gym planned, signed up for a CrossFit team competition, and signed up to complete my Piyo certification.
As for my workout today, we had a team workout at the box. 3 person teams had a buy-in of 18 burpees each, 9 rounds (alternating) of 20 wall balls and 18 box jumps, and a buy-out of an accumulated 2018 m. Caroline, LaTosha, and I finished in 24:49. I went unbroken on all 3 sets of wall balls, which felt so amazing. Let’s hope that a win for the very first workout of the year is a sign of great fitness achievements to come this year.
I also finished my free meal prep guide! You can find the link on my profile. I have more guides planned, as well as informational videos and just more content in general. Time to put in some work!
Happy sweating. -Kirsten
2 Weeks Out - WBFF Competition Prep Update
Wrapping up another week, getting one step closer to the WBFF stage for this season...
One word to describe the last two weeks of prep, challenging. At two weeks out, my cardio increased substantially and calories decreased, so the physical demands on the body are inevitable. Mentally, it has become more demanding as well, but I continue to push and remind myself that the end is near. I enjoy structure. I enjoy tracking my macros. I enjoy following a training program; however, I am ready for a break, a moment of free range living. While I look forward to a few days of guilt free indulgences post-show, I am mostly excited to get back to training without an obligatory regimen. I am excited to lift heavy weights without the fear of injury due to a caloric deficit and I am excited to go for a run without anticipation of calories burned. As I sit here typing up this blog entry, I have wrapped up the terrible two week out stint of prep and now head into peak week!!!
Two years ago vs today. Almost 60lbs between the two picture!
*Sorry for the length of the post that follows!*
I had attempted to lose weight countless times before but going into it this time my mindset was a little different. I had always thought “do it for the ‘oh you got hot’ or as revenge for all the people that called you nasty names. Instead, this time I decided to do it for me, for my physical and mental wellbeing and to be taken seriously in my future career (w.e that may be). That shift in thinking made all the difference!
Had you taken this #transformationtuesday pic and showed it to the me on the left I would have looked at you in both disbelief and estacy. But I would have said something along the lines of "I will never look like this” because my self confidence was non-existent. Fast forward to today… I’m prepping for my first bikini show, live to help and share my passion for health and fitness with others. I’m ready to take on the world. As impressive as my physical transformation may be, I believe the emotional one to be WAY greater.
This is the face of exhaustion. When you and your entire family are sick but you still have to go grocery shopping because you're on competition prep and therefore you need specific food in your house.
Strong women lift each other up! 💪
Happy international women’s day! Give someone a sincere compliment. Smile at a stranger. Most importantly, be kind to others and yourself! 🔸 🔸 🔸 Some days I don’t take my own advice and I’m pretty hard on myself about my progress, and my achievements (or lack thereof). On those days I need to remind myself to put things in to perspective!
Beginning of the school term (September 2016) vs now. Definitely not mad about the ~50lbs difference between the two pictures! (👀 LOOK AT THOSE BABY ABS) But I’m also so incredibly proud of the amount of self control I’ve developed and self discovery I’ve made. Is it conceited to make yourself your own #wcw? Cause I think that’s what’s going down! (at Goodlife Fitness)
