do i have strong negative feelings towards celine because of the way she raised rumi and trained huntrix and messed them all up? yes. do i understand that she was probably trained the same way and is an immensely complex character? also yes.

y'all ask for complex women and then can't handle them when they come. yes, celine really messed up the girls and that's not something to just be ignored or glazed over. but understanding that there's more to her is so important.

Yes. It has incest. NO. ITS NOT JUST THAT, ITS NOT SIMPLE FETISH GOONER BAIT. it's such a well written masterpiece of a story with such beautifully complex characters.

You people always ask for 'well represented media' with 'complex characters' but then just hate on it when you get it. Both Ashley and Andrew are such disgusting yet tragic characters that have grown up to be like this because of their neglectful parents.

No matter what route you chose, it'll have atleast some hints of romance in it because thats just how they- or specifically Andrew is.

Ashley is bad. But Andrew is WORSE. WAY worse, in my opinion atleast with how I interpreted all the symbolism this game has

Celine trying to convince Rumi that she shouldn’t have her patterns out for everyone to see (again) and when Mira, who’s passing by the living room at the time, just goes, “Okay, Mother Gothel,” and leaves there’s a long beat of silence.

It took a while for Celine to get the reference but when she does, she doesn’t appreciate the association. And Rumi, is stuck between wanting to laugh and cry at the same time because Celine so IS a “Mother Knows Best” ass bitch but also Celine did isolate her, made her dependent on her approval, still makes her question if she really does love her, and many more icky (it probably was abuse if she thinks about it too long) things.

It’s safe to say that the conversation fizzles out very quickly after that and Celine returns to the compound alone in a shame filled silence.

When Zoey hears about it (from Mira because Rumi still isn’t the sharing type) she scolds her when she recovers from her own mirth at the admittedly well placed one-liner. Not for Celine’s sake but for Rumi’s. After all, Tangled was a banned movie in the penthouse for a reason, dammit.
