Locking in for my 48-hour major comprehensive exam! Let’s hope the studying this summer paid off…
Been MIA af with posting study content…because I have been studying so much for my comprehensive exam in under two days (which is the exam for my master’s degree built into my program). Knocked out 8.5 hours of studying today for my exam which has content comprising of 22 classes and is over 200 questions. 😬
The comps are such bullshit. Like, am I to believe that shovelling a hundred books into my brain within the space of a year with no chance to discuss or reflect upon them is the best way to learn a field?
This just feels like yet another sadistic burnout ritual to weed people out of higher academia.
Getting really burnt out studying for this exam and handling my current classes on top of that but I’m trying to work a little every day to get it done. Anyone else feeling this way?
My comprehensive exam reading list was released last night and I cannot wait to get started studying and preparing for the exam. It's hard to believe that I will be finished my second M.A. in less than 4 months!
Studying at the library on this rainy morning. Finishing key terms from 501, then moving on to 507. I’m on day 3 of a gluten free dairy free diet to help my brain and it’s been rough but I know it’ll be worth it in a week or two. How are you guys doing?
Sorry for the lack of posting on here. Summer has been so busy with work and class. Statistics is going well and will be over in a few weeks. My focus has shifted to studying for my comprehensive exam in December. 300 terms and 3 essays to prepare for so you will see a lot of that content on this blog over the next 6 months. Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the summertime!
