Maybe Lena and Alex get close after the rift as she tries to show Lena that she does care for her as a friend. And Alex and lena get to know each other with Kara's shadow.

I recently rediscovered a snippet I wrote of Alex going to Lena and commiserating on having just learned Kara's identity. Because remember, Alex was mindwiped the majority of the season. So just IMAGINE the bonding they could have had. If only...

The thing about mindwipes in most fiction is that the writers rarely explore the ramifications of radically and sometimes violently their memories come back to them. Like... with Alex, she should be dealing with conflicting feelings over loving her sister yet resenting Supergirl for being a nuisance to the DEO that season.

Or when the superfriends have their memories of the old reality returned after crisis. What happened to their ENTIRE new lives they now have to reconcile with what's supposedly been? How can they trust that the new/old memories are real?

So many nuances to explore, but the writers just take the sledgehammer approach of "you don't have memories, now you do" and vice versa. Lame. If that's all they're gonna use it for, I'd rather they just skip it entirely.
