Now that it's finished, I can let it all out. Here's the difference between the show and the novel 😄
1. Chi Cheng's sister didn't accept Wu Suowei initially because the dad has already poisoned that well. However, she begun to change her mind when WSW risked his life to save Dou Dou from falling off a building.
2. I said this before, but the tax fraud scheme was cooked up by a forgettable minor character who had a grudge against CC and his family. What wasn't reveal in the show is that the whole thing was masterminded by his sister Jia Li.
Since the dad always said that WSW is only with CC for the money, Jia Li decided to test that theory. In the end, WSW sold eveything he owned to free CC. Jia Li used that fact to rub it in their father's face that he was wrong and CC was right to fall in love with WSW.
3. Jia Li was a few months pregnant when CC was freed from jail. Since she already has two kids (remember in novel, Dou Dou is a twin and China had a two-child policy when the novel was published), she decided to let CC and WSW adopt the incoming baby. She also said she will abort the boy (she already knows the gender) if their parents doesn't agree.
I am still sad the show didn't adapt this bit.
4. It wasn't stated in the show, but with CC cleared of the charges, they were able to get their company back.
