I see artists all the time saying stuff like, "Fast fashion has messed up your perception of worth, I should be able to change whatever I want for my work", and I'll go one further.

Capitalism has fucked everyone's view of worth beyond repair. If you look at a piece of art you make and only see the profit you can make and not the joy it brings, you've lost something critical to valuing your art.
