(Crescent) Posing on the rocks at one of my favorite beaches, Zuma beach in Malibu, California. I love this place so much! Beginning at the car park just beyond The Sunset Restaurant, you walk up the sandy path next to the big cliff where all the rock climbers are, you follow the sandy path around to the right, where you are greeted with a wooden look out/photo op stop. Take a moment to look around, the view from up there is stunning! From there the path briefly turns into a wooden pathway before returning back to sand, now veer right so you are hugging the coastline. This is where you will decide to keep walking along the crest line, or make a sharp right turn (at the information board) and walk down a narrow sandy path which eventually brings you to an old metal staircase that leads straight down to the beach (it’s pretty steep and quite rusty so watch your step!). Depending on the tide it’s either all sand or giant rocks underfoot for the first couple of hundred yards. You can decide if your walk ends there and you can plonk yourself down on the sand, or you can keep walking & walking (& walking & walking), all the way to Paradise Cove!! Hardly anyone comes over this side of the beach so it feels like a private beach, and it’s super gorgeous!! Sealions, dolphins, fish, birds, nurse sharks, all types of little sea creatures, and during April (if you’re lucky!) you’ll even see whales!
