If you were in a coma, Gaara would always be by your side, holding your hand and making sure everything was okay. 

He’d be the person to decorate your hospital room with flowers and cacti and more flowers. Bursting with your favorites ones in your favorite colors. 

Everyday he will be by your side; Sometimes it hinders his work as leader of his village, but he makes it work, just to see you.

Because you are what makes him happy, you are what gives him meaning.

He doesn’t have meaning if you aren’t beside him, and if you can’t be beside him right now, he will go to you and stay next to you until you wake up.

Because he loves you

and he wants himself to be the first thing he sees when you wake up

because he is fully confident that you will wake up.

Much like Gaara, and when his grandpa was in the hospital, he will visit everyday or at least every chance he got.

He would hold your unmoving in his and recount that day’s events to you with a smile on his face

Though his face shows a smile, it doesn’t reach his eyes

He worried, so extremely worried about you

What if you don’t wake up? What if you die right here, like his grandpa, and he couldn’t do anything about it? 

He feels weak, inferior, he feel he didn’t try hard enough to make sure you were okay

He’d ask questions to the nurses about your state of health and they will say the same things over and over and over again, never truly relieving him of his anxiety.

But he makes sure you are okay. That you are warm, that AC isn’t too hot or cold that your pillow is fluffed. 

He just hopes that one day you will wake up so that he can give you the biggest hug ever.
