“I’m going to the shops, do you want anything?” Kevin asked, looking through the cupboards to double check what had already gone, “what happened to the cookies I bought a couple days ago?”
“Oh, I ate them,” you laughed sheepishly, not looking away from where you were stirring your ramen.
Kevin chuckled, placing his hands on your waist and kissing your cheek, “I’ll see you in a bit, okay?”
You hummed, the light hands placed on your waist feeling like clamps. You were so aware of it, so violently aware of how much weight you’d gained.
Not only did your stomach get so much rounder, other places had already gained extra fat as well. You were normally confident in yourself, and Kevin was amazing, but with how much weight you’d gained in a short space of time, you couldn’t help but put yourself down.
Suddenly feeling a wave of nausea take over you, you turned off the stove and ran to the bathroom, throwing up all of the food that you’d consumed that morning.
And that was the other thing, how were you eating so much and gaining so much weight when you were also throwing up daily?! Those two things didn’t match!
Washing your face to cool yourself down, you turned to look at yourself in the full-body mirror you had in your bathroom. Your stomach was exceptionally round for just weight gain, and hard to the touch.
“Oh my god,” you muttered, pressing around all the different areas of your stomach, “oh my god.”
Running to the kitchen, you picked up your phone and checked your period app, you’d forgotten to log it for four months. Realising only now that it wasn’t that you forgot to log it, it was that it hadn’t come.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck,” you whispered, marching back to bathroom and rummaging around in the cupboard, where you know remained at least one pregnancy test from when Juyeon’s wife had a panic and wanted to test at your house, “bingo.”
You downed the rest of the coffee you’d made yourself that morning, waiting until you felt your bladder was going to burst and running to the toilet, peeing on the two plastic sticks.
“Well,” you muttered, “this is uncomfortable.”
Shaking your head, you put the two sticks on the side and washed your hands.
“Okay, five minutes,” you whispered, putting the timer on your phone, “ooh! Ramen!”
Making your way back to the kitchen, you drained the noodles, trying to make anything to distract yourself from the ticking clock.
“Y/N! I’m home!” Kevin called, “they didn’t have much at the shop, I’ll have to go out of town soon.”
You gasped, running back to the bathroom, “I– I’m just in the bathroom!”
“Shit, shit, hurry up!” you whispered, splashing your face with cold water until you heard the beeping of your phone.
“You okay in there?” Kevin called, “your ramen’s getting cold on the side.”
“Y-Yeah!” you exclaimed, your eyes filling with tears as you wrapped the pregnancy tests in paper and shoved them behind the toilet.
Unlocking the door, you were met face-to-face with your husband.
“You don’t look it,” he said, pressing a hand to your head, “have you been throwing up again? Cause that’s not a vibe.”
“I– I’ve gained so much weight Kev,” you cried, beginning to sob as you collapsed into his arms.
“I’ve gained so much weight and– and,” you stopped, pulling away and taking a breath, “yes, I have gained some weight. But it’s because I– I’m pregnant.”
“But my stretch marks are so gross and my stomach’s already so big,” you cried into his chest.
“Y/N,” Kevin breathed, “baby, oh my god! My love, honey, you’re pregnant, that’s all, you look beautiful all the time, you never have to worry about anything like that.”
You sniffled, pulling away with a nod.
“Oh my god you’re pregnant!” Kevin exclaimed, “what?!”
“I just took two tests,” you sobbed, going back with shaking hands to take them back out, “I haven’t had my period for four months!”
“That’s why your stomach’s gained so much weight, loony!” Kevin exclaimed, “four months, that’s our baby showing!”
“You think so?” you sniffled, turning to look at your reflection in the mirror once again, flattening your t-shirt against your stomach.
Kevin got down on his knees, kissing your stomach before laying his hand on it.
“Look, it’s hard, that’s our baby!” he smiled, “Y/N, that’s our baby!”
Tears filling your eyes, you laughed, watching through the mirror’s reflection as Kevin kissed your belly, whispering sweet nothings to it in excitement.
“Have you called the doctor?” he asked, getting back up on his feet.
You shook your head, wiping away your tears, “I literally just took the test.”
“Well, I’ll call them now, okay? You eat your ramen,” Kevin said, leaving the bathroom in a hurry, “oh my god, we’re having a baby!”
